Just a bit odd/ tired/ basic. Not sure how this is a 4-star hotel. Very tired fixtures and fittings. Weird design - somewhere between corporate and contemporary with little charm… I get the school theme but it’s badly executed and just ends up feeling a bit tired / dated everywhere. Rooms are ok - overall a bit dirty, tired, and dated. Feels more like a contemporary hotel from the 90s. Lacking that timeless feeling most other hotels (whether boutiques or corporates) manage to capture quite simply. Wouldn’t recommend but fine if you’re looking for somewhere easy and accessible. That said customer service is brilliant. So no fault on that. More just the physical space which I can imagine is uninspiring for them as well…

My wife and I are American expats living in The Algarve since September 2. This was our first trip to Lisbon. We absolutely loved Hotel da Estrela and Lisbon! It’s location is perfect! Easy walks to public transportation, parks, museums, Cathedrals, excellent restaurants, etc, etc. The Hotel was a residence and then a school. The interior pays homage to its educational heritage with its decore. In addition, a Hospitality school is next door and the polite and eager-eyed students shadow the hotel staff. What a treat for retired teachers! The hotel is comfortable and welcoming. The staff are excellent. They also have private and gated, below ground parking right under the hotel. That was what sold me! The room was very clean, comfortable, quiet and large by Lisbon standards, we were told. We both slept well each night. It does show a bit of wear and tear but that’s expected in my book. It wasn’t off-putting, it just added to its charm. The included breakfast was delicious: eggs, bacon, fruit, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, meats and cheeses, etc. We will most definitely stay here again. It was actually hard to leave. That rarely happens for us! We usually are ready to leave a hotel for various reasons. Not this one. One negative, was that they use actual metal keys for the rooms instead of cards. Haven’t seen that in decades. Not nearly as convenient as cards. Also presents a safety issue because the door doesn’t have an auto lock feature. And you have to carry its big plastic key chain. But, it too added to the hotels charm and old-school feel. No pun intended.

Excellent room, very interesting hotel design! The wifi was an issue but it was pretty quickly resolved.

Meine Tochter und ich waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel ☺️ saubere Zimmer und auch modern. Das Frühstück war simpel, aber für jeden was dabei. Ich finde die Lage super und wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder ....

Really enjoyed or stay, rooms and bed excellent, good shower, staff fantastic from front desk to cleaning staff! but really appreciated the breakfast as it was quite extensive and tasty. on edge of tourist area but still quite walkable once you realize Lisbon has only 2 directions, up and down and cope. Delta coffee machine in room, though first 2 pods should be free daily Fully recommend!

Finding this hotel was incredibly difficult, we asked people and they all said this is very difficult to find. We paid a taxi to go to the hotel and we followed him, then had to pay for that. The Hotel staff were extremely unknowledgeable about the going on in the area. We asked about the Christmas Markets in December and they didn't know what they were. As far as the rooms, for two friends travelling, no privacy, rooms were spacious however location was not great. The hotel was a disappointment as far as privacy, location and staff. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great room, comfy sleep and very clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Nice continental breakfast with a good selection. Located away from the centre however tram, bus and metro stations are within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. Would not hesitate to go back.

Great attention from the desk front. Everything we needed was fulfilled. Rooms were very clean and neat. There were no coffee machine in the room. We could repeat it if we return to Lisbon.

Difficult Hotel. Maybe fate of an individual. They tried their best, but it is too less for their ambition: - matresses is room 1 Should be new, what they said. It was amazing hard. They didn‘t offer a topper, but they gave two extra blankets, which actually didn‘t help. - the water didn‘t run off the shower, so the shower time were less then 60 seconds. It is sustainable, but not 4 Stars like. - window could“t be closed, the ‚lock“ mechanism didn‘t work. - to take the cake: we wanted to leave very early in the morning to reach our flight. Unfortunately we used Hotels garage. Which has two gates to come out. The First Gate opened, but the 2nd gate didn‘t. I had to jump over a 2.20m Wall After 15 minutes of prisons feeling, ruined my jeans. The Service Manager was overcharged. Tecnic didn’t work by system and they opened it with a normal door opener-> why Not directly. I cannot recommend this hotel. ONCE i will come back to Lisboa, never ever again in this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with big rooms and nice design. It would be great if there are (more) vegan options at the breakfast !

mold in the room ( i am very sensitive so any mold is an automatic . the bathroom is disgusting with smudges of the last however many guests left every where - toilet seat, walls mirror. smells like the perfume of the last guest - no way this is a 4 star anything - i would rank it a 2 star - never would stay here again.

Nice very small boutique hotel. All the staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. I got upgraded to a suite that is very spacious and the bathroom is modern and nicely designed. The breakfast is relaxing and peasant.

After paying a extra night they woke me up early in the morning to make me change my room and ruin my sleep and rest… i ended up leaving. Terrible hospitality experience

The distinguishing feature here is definitely the manager and her customer service. Thoughtful touches in the room (chocolates, pastel) were also nice. The rooms are spacious, although a bit dated. I also thought the Estrela area was lovely and felt much more local.

We stayed for five nights at Estrela and , we really loved the place. It was a simple , little boutique hotel with comfy rooms. Also, the breakfast was delicious. The location was very decent and centralised. We had easy access to any place in town. The staff was friendly, but, we would like to give our special thanks to Isabel, the director of the hotel. She was absolutely friendly and supportive. Overall, we loved the place and the service. We will definitely stay with them on our next visit. We wish you good luck for your future endeavours. MUITO OBRIGADO da Estrela💕💕💕
