Worst place in whole Lisbon, stay away if you can!!! We were here for a school trip and weren‘t expecting much but sleeping here was a nightmare. Toilets and showers were public on each floor, but you were lucky when your toilet was working/not stinking to the point of vomiting. Showers resembled the ones used in prison and were dirty too. Hot water was not working ether. One guy from the reception was extremely rude and visited our room each time some small noise was to be heard. The rooms were small and the beds were from the last century and squeaked and shaked with every move, so if you got up in the morning, the whole room was awakened. The only positive point is the location, the main public transport station could be reached within 5-10 Minutes. I would rate it 0/10 if i could, do yourself a favor and stay away

Excellent all round. Private rooms are spacious, stylish and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the garden and a view of the river. Fantastic kitchen as well. Breakfast is simple - ham, cheese, breads, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, juice, cover and tea, but good quality. Staff were all super friendly and helpful and it's a great location. Overall I can't fault anything.

This hostel was bit expensive compare to the others in area. I think the breakfast option was amazing and there were quite a few items available , entertainment like pools games are fantastic too. However Toilets were too tights and bathroom were always wet.

Very clean, very quiet - even though its located very very close to the center and there were quite a few people staying at the hotel. Very nice design and the building itself is beautiful and cool, both inside and out. Very nice staff, breakfast was good. Had many restaurants and coffee shops near by. Great view, especially from the terrace. Stayed in the dorms: Beds are wide, they had both thin and thick blankets (thank you!), and a night lamp. Air conditioning available in the room. Shower and bathrooms were very clean, and very comfy, outside of the room but close and approachable. Huge lockers under the bed. The room got cleaned every day. Definitely recommend.

The worst receptionist I have ever met. The women at reception were totally rude, imagine that they didn’t say me not even “welcome”. The last day I let my keycard on bed and I had to pay 2,50 euro (of course, it was my fault) but she was so rude and so unfriendly without any reason! The beds and the floor are made by wood and it causes such a noises when people just move a step.

I have to say that this hostel is really bad. Only the view is good. I didn't sleep anything during my stay. When I arrived to the hostel it was closed, I had to wait for someone to open the door after 30 minutes. They also sent staff to my room to check if everything was locked in case I would steal something which is makes me think that staff working in this type of hostels are low class workers with low education doubting from anyone who is a portuguese speaker. This type of turism business is completely useless and it is only damaging our cities with mass tourism. Chiado was an area with high class society and with a good quality of life. Now is all about drugs, alcool, discos, bars.. this hostel it is the example of buying a car with no engine, they charge a lot of money for a bed where you can't even sleep...

The Hotel has a great location, in the middle of the downtown, most accommodations are nearby (metro, buses, lime ... ) , Pink avenue is a few meters away. The building is lovely, well decorated and clean. There is a living room, kitchen , terrace and a garden ... But I give 3 stars, because the service wasn't great, the personnel should be more lovely and welcoming with guests, they should understand that most of us choose this kind of hostel to meet other people !!! The price in my opinion is a bit much. The breakfast is CATASTROPHIC ! the milk doesn't taste like milk, and neither did the coffee!!! I took an upper bed, and I have literally suffered climbing to it each time! So if you have some alcohol in your blood , be careful. Not counting the noisy neighborhood (parties and clubs ... ). Another thing, why do you guys close the Trace at 20h00 ? It's super early in summer !!

24 hour reception is top! Checked in due to a delayed flight, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was nice and everything was clean. The rooms furniture (beds) is old but the charm of the building and the great common areas makes up for it. The location is great, right in the heart of the city. I would stay again.

Good location and rooms. The staff were friendly but the shared bathrooms were really not up to scratch. One of the toilets had flooded in the shared bathroom and was wiped up with towels that were left on the floor for quite a few hours. The private rooms are very good on the other hand.

Great hostel. Would highly recommend for a reasonably priced stay. In a good location walkable to most sights and night life.

They erroneously claim to have sound proofing throughout the property. I booked a private room and to my dismay it was directly under the dining hall and common areas. As one can imagine it was absolute agony to endure the chatter, yelling, banging and drawn furniture. This hampered the quality of my stay and my outlook on the property. Multiple messages were sent directly and via Booking.com customer care team and none of them was acknowledged. Booking called the property on my behalf and the manager “refused to understand the situation or offer empathy.” I have traveled many countries as part of my second life and even have been to hostels, hotels, resorts and bed and breakfast joints across the globe. Lisb’on Hostel’s management totaling slaps the face of the customer and to the hard working staff that try to make the place a respite for travelers. Unfortunately, I will never recommend this accommodation and believe they should revise their description of the property by removing soundproofing as a feature. If sleep and relaxation is what you’re after, Lisb’on Hostel is not it. It puts a stain on the beautiful city of Lisbon for this hostel to bear its name.

Lovely hostel, amazing views and housed in a very beautiful building. Rooms are comfortable and the lift is great if you have larger baggage with you. The hostel is huge and loses a bit the cozy familiar feeling often associated to hostels. To compensate for it however, the facility is very well equipped, well kept and clean, with a good organization. A minor pain point is the staff which is a bit slow and generally unhelpful, while still being friendly and kind. Overall great experience worth repeating and definitely worth the small price premium.

I stayed 5 nights here. I enjoyed my stay here very much and I have 6 bed room with changing mates, but we care of each other very respectful, even though someone came later or left earlier. I like the respectful behaviors among people! The pictures are my copyrighted, which I took on the Terrasse and Dinning room! The decorations were very modern and international...It was nice to meet some new people here. The bed is clean and the staffs were friendly and helpful for anything you wanna to know. The only drawing is that the man toilet on the 3rd floor needs refurbish. The flushing button doesn’t work well any more.

Excellent and friendly staff that goes above and beyond for such an affordable place in a great area. Free breakfast everyday until noon or so and occasionally free group dinners as well. Very chill atmosphere. On the smaller side so you get more of a cozy feel. But the high capacity rooms are really large. Service is great, location is great, price is great, beds are pretty comfortable. What's not to love?

Building is lovely, location is great, rooms are below expectations, but the real problem: service sadly was terrible. On my last morning, on my way out, I asked if there was flexible check out to the only person behind the front desk, and got told in a rude tone by this curly-haired lady that she didn't know, maybe midnight, pretty much whenever I wanted. I clarified I wanted to know exactly by what time I had to check out, which to my knowledge universally means vacate a room or bed, and she repeated it was flexible. I left for the day, believing the check out was flexible based on what I had been told. After a couple hours I get a message telling me to come to the hostel to check out as soon as possible since I'm already late. I change my plans, return to the Hostel from Belem where I was only just entering the tower, and instead of getting an apology I get repremended with not only a very rude tone but also volume, and sarcastically asked if it is my first time in a hostel. And yes, it was. So? What's the point of having a human at the front desk if they know less information than a booking reservation can give and are rude, too? I guess giving innacurate information in a rude tone and disrupting peoples holiday plans without apologizing is normal here. So yeah, pretty place, but you're better off going elsewhere. To my understanding this is actually the most expensive hostel downtown, so check the cheaper hotels or literally any other hostel, or simply don't trust what you are told at the front desk: they'll just give you inaccurate information and upset you. I'm French-Italian, grew up moving across 3 continents, so I believe there's a basis to say I'm well traveled, and I can tell you never met such unprofessional and rude people in hospitality, whether it was a camping scenario or a 5 star hotel.

Excellent place to stay in Lisbon on a budget. The building itself is a historic Baroque palace, and the rooms were quite clean and bright. Washrooms are shared, but are very well maintained and clean. Staff were nice, and the complementary breakfast tasted great.

The only reason i removed stars from location is bc it's on top of a hill and i come from a flat country ahaha beautiful hostel, good breakfast, great views. I recommend.

It’s so dirty everywhere, especially the public space such as toilets and bathroom. The room is so old and dark at night. I don’t know what the function of the lights is. What’s worse, the hair dryers in EVERY floor are broken after 1 minute use. And the staff said nothing but we have to pay for towels. This is the worst hostel I have ever been to.

The location is great and so are the rooms, the service is friendly and the hostel is very comfortable. The only downside was that there wasnt hot water in the showers but in summer that's bearable. Would probably stay again here.

Great hostel with very friendly staff and and an amazing house with old ornaments on walls and ceilings everywhere. I really enjoyed my stay here and would come back anytime. Only one very small point of criticism: the AC in the room needs to be requested at the reception desk every time. There is no remote in the room. Staff is usually quite fast though to turn it on.

Although during my stay there were only eight American girls who were a little cold. It was not very clean and I did not feel comfortable to sleep under the covers. After the first night I woke up to a bug bite on my foot. I stayed in the girls dorm room and there were 10 beds. To me it was too many people very close together. The room smelled strongly of dirty feet. The reason I stay in hostels is to meet people which did not happen. But this could depend on the time you come to Lisbon. Maybe I came on the off season? I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Amazing staff! Really friendly and helpful. The location is perfect - close to the main touristic spots. The hostel is very old house... nothing fancy, but it has all you need.

The crazy Aussie that was only meant to stay for a few nights but ended up falling in love with the place. My first hostel on my euro trip back in may and they treated me like family. The owners are a bunch of legends and the staff were amazing went out of there way to take care of me. I'd love to be a part of the crew one day. Only hostel along my travels that felt like home. This is a great place to stay!! It's family-run and with a really cosy atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and took the time to help me plan my day, recommended events and restaurants. They have breakfast until late and everything you need to prepare your own dinner. The house has a nice flair and is right next to the Barrio Alto. Am already looking forward to my next stay there!

An Ok hostel. I spent one night (08/04) Good location near the old town. However, Rooms are not in a good condition and without air conditioning. The staff are helpful and nice ( Sarah & David). The breakfast is nice also. The cleanest is medium in the shower.

Great hostel with such good vibes. Clean room and bathroom and they provide a basic breakfast all day. Sarah was so helpful and always so cheerful and made me feel welcomed. They do activities in the evening but I was there for a short time so didn’t get to take part. There’s also a great walking tour that pick you up from the hostel. Obrigada!!

Excellent hostel, I slept 6 nights from New Year's Eve to 06/01/2018. Hostel welcomed me with open arms and included me in their festivities as though I were one of the family with food and drink aplenty, when I arrived on the evening of 31/12/2017. Daily breakfast was simple bread, cheese, tea/coffee and fruit. I could not recommend the hostel more highly than others have before me, it's the only place I would stay in Lisbon, it's that good!

I booked only 3 nights in the hostel and I ended up staying one week :) the staff is the best, they welcome you with open arms and make you feel like home, specially Gonzalo and Sara, always so lovely and helpful, they make it hard to leave! The atmosphere is great, you get to know wonderful people from all over the world having breakfast, joining events like taco night or just having a break in the living room. The location is also perfect, you are close to restaurants and bars but it's still quiet when you want to sleep. No doubt I'll be back next time I'm in Lisbon :D

The breakfast , is just a …….. bread 🍞 I went for a night out with some friends and when I arrive at the hostel , the receptionist just come running to me in the stairs asking for my i.d because he say that I was not a guest … Just really weird .
