Very good location. But… I had a room next to the noisy construction site , so after 9:20 I couldn’t sleep. My only window was situated in front of the scaffolding with construction workers, so I wasn’t comfortable in my room with open window, because the workers could see me when I was sitting on my bed. The spa area was nice, but I suggest to put more machines in the gym, because it has a pretty big room compare to others gym hotels but there are not enough machines to workout. For me it should not have 5 STARS ⭐️ then

First of all. It is not a 5 star hotel! So if you going to book here keep that in mind. It is a good 4 star hotel, but not 5! Breakfast is good, rooms are very clean and spaceous. Though some of them smells, cuase the air circulation system sucks the smell out of the bathroom floor drain. No door man, so nobody is going to help you with your luggages. No bar, just a make shift bar at the breakfast area. Staff is ok, they forget to greet you all the time. House keeping is very good, though some of the rooms are a bit beat up. On the very positive note, all the rooms have excellent noise insulation so you can get a quite nice sleep. AC sometimes acts funky. Is on site restaurant out of business?

Was here for a few days working, the hotel is set right next to the port and within walking distance from everything else. The staff here are perfect always with a smile and ready to help with anything. The rooms are fantastic and the pool was just right. Brake fast was lovely with something for everyone. If you are looking for a place to relax but still be in the middle of everything this is your spot. Well done team Ajla

Amazing free breakfast included in the hotel with amazing gluten free options. Also, multiple kinds of milk and juices including oat milk. Rooms were very clean with well designed curtains that are sure to block out the light. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a heated towel rack. The room is a bit small for American standards, but big enough for two. The staff is very friendly and good at what they do. The museum aspect is really cool and adds character. I love the bowl of small dark chocolates at the front desk.

How to start my review for this hotel...it has a good location, nice breakfast..but we were robbed at night in our hotel room - someone entered the room door, took our bags with money and documents and left. Unfortunately, we received almost no assistance from the hotel. When I asked if the police would come - the receptionist told me that I watch a lot of crime movies..Pretty unprofessional for a 5 star hotel. Would I stay at this hotel again - no. I don't recommend you to stay there either..I'm really sorry..

First arrival we saw the room it gave us a basic feeling. But the last day we had a tour in the hotel meseum we felt proud and impressive for the Lisbon culture. Very unique that hotel is built on the ancient civilization site. If you want to find a hotel worthy €300 per night maybe go somewhere else.

Quite clean, but a clean hotel does not mean it is a 5-star hotel. The staff was ok. The hotel group that this hotel is a part of has many 5 stars and I think that they just gave the rating to this hotel. The photos of the rooms look nothing like the actual rooms. I told them I didn’t like the room and I wanted to switch to one that was half the price and they didn’t give me any money back. Room service didn’t work and when I asked for some water to be brought up when the electricity went out, they didn’t follow through. When I at last complained, they offered me the smallest amount they could get away with. There are so many hotels in that area, so, I wouldn’t stay there again.

‏The hotel service level is very poor, and they are late in cleaning the rooms, until five o'clock in the evening. ‏The receptionist who checked our group in on December 13, 2022 ‏She treated us rudely and showed no respect for the fact that we were Arabs. Despite the rude employee, the manager treated us with respect and provided assistance and made sure that we were okay

This is a beautiful waterfront hotel that appears well maintained and features many amenities, including an indoor pool. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with everything from slippers to toothpaste to a steamer. A highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast which had a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit (orange, kiwi, papaya, mango, etc), scrambled/fried eggs, bacon, sausage, traditional potato tortilla and more. With the positives listed, I turn my review to the negatives...and there weren't many. The most notable issue was the bed. Our room featured two twins which were hard and sloped upward to the middle. Aside from this, I'm of the opinion hotels should offer a pillow menu. Lastly, we purchased two drinks - a mojito and an old-fashioned - the mojito had no mint flavor and tasted like watered down rum. The waiter also did not advise us the whiskey options for the old fashioned (also watered down). Although we complained, the lady who checked us out did not offer anything to ameliorate the situation. With all that said, this is a very nice and well appointed hotel with prime real estate in Lisbon.

We love this hotel. Nice clean rooms (not all have a view - it’s a bonus if you can get one facing the estuary), a lovely little pool which is always quiet, friendly helpful staff who always have a treat for my daughter (sweets/chocolate), and the breakfast buffet is a winner. Sadly we haven’t made it to the daily museum tour yet but the location is perfect for wandering the old town, which is handy for dinner since whilst the restaurant looks nice they don’t really have options for children.

Cannot speak more highly of this hotel. The staff are all incredible. So helpful so friendly and so kind. I stayed here as a solo traveller and felt so welcome, safe and at home. I got a wonderful recommendation for dinner which they booked for me and I was treated so well by them too, thanks to Soraia who was amazing the whole time I was there. Ghilherme is also the smiliest friendliest guy. Not to mention the breakfast spread was incredible. 10/10. Will definitely return :)

Excellent hotel , service & location. TV didn’t work properly, they tried to fix unsuccessfully. Spa a bit expensive. Small but nice pool. Sauna & Hammam were very good. Small gym, but enough for us.

This hotel is very nice. The location is beautiful and easy to get anywhere. It’s walking distance to many attractions and by the water which is really nice. It’s was about 20 min and 28 euros by taxi from airport. We came from Boston around 6 am local time and since we flown all night we were really tired. When we came it was way to early to check in but Fabian went an extra mile for us and was able to check us in so we get to rest and really enjoy exploring beautiful Lisbon same day fully rested. Also Georgina at the front desk was super helpful and nice and made our stay flawless. Breakfast here is outstanding- the variety and quality of food is above expectations and staff is super nice. We love staying there so much and will definitely back. Highly recommend!

Have mixed feelings about this 5* hotel. Hotel is overall nice, reception can be better, I would expect more hospitality as it’s a 5* hotel. Booked a hotel transfer from airport - hotel, arrived at the airport but the driver wasn’t there yet, while he should be waiting outside the meeting point as soon I arrived. So I called the hotel and after a 30 min wait in total, he was finally there. The driver is very nice and gave me lots of tips about Lisbon. The checkin went smooth, Carolina gave me a room with a nice view of the river! The service in the restaurant can do better, it was like we went outside to a local restaurant instead of having dinner at a 5* hotel. I had problems with the airconditioning but it got fixed after I called the reception, make sure to close the balcony door properly otherwise the airconditioning doesn’t work and jumps on eco mode. Breakfast is very nice, with lots of fresh fruit and if you like your eggs fully cooked, just ask for it. They are willing to make it for you. Many thanks to Fabio who was super nice and helped me with a tour to Sintra even tho it was fully booked, he found his way to get me a spot on the day I preferred. Met some nice people too on the tour! Housekeeping ladies don’t greet. Hotel is clean but with some water stains on the side of the bath and the rain shower needs to be descaled. There is one funny thing, during my stay I found that the ladies restrooms at the reception don’t have locks on the doors, I asked the reception why that is, they looked at me as if I discovered a secret 🤫. They didn’t give me a proper answer. Also hanging soap dispensers on top of the tissue boxes is not a smart thing to do. We had a nice stay, but the hotel definitely need some improvements, I would say, have some locks installed on the doors is definitely a must

Excellent hotel, good gym. Nicely designed, well located. The better rooms don’t have very large windows or a great view which is the difference between 4 and 5 stars in this case

Superb breakfast! Exceptionally polite staff. Decent spa. Clean rooms with very nice bathrooms. Definitely with staying here!

Rooms are clean and include everything you need. Gym 1 star, very poor. Needs some investment and equipment. We're talking 5 pairs of dumbbells, a cable machine and random cardio machines. I'd suggest getting rid of half the cardio machines and investing in a few weight machines. The pool area is okay, the steam room was just a room, a real lack of steam. The pool is pleasant although quite small Breakfast is excellent. Couldn't ask for more. One of the best spreads I've had at a hotel. Service excellent. Everyone at the desk has been extremely helpful and friendly.

Our stay at the hotel was phenomenal. The hotel is spotless, the decor is beautiful and the service is impeccable. We stayed here for our honeymoon and were surprised by how much thoughtfulness was put into making us feel special during our stay. We were welcomed by lovely gifts in the room and a rose petal covered bed. The breakfast is delicious, although it would have been better with vegan options - we had salad, bread and jam which were delicious. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi were beautiful and relaxing, I highly recommend using the amenities during your stay. There is even a museum and archeological sites on-premise that you can visit. Big bonus for those who notice and enjoy cleanliness - even the TV remotes were sanitized. They truly thought about every little detail to ensure our stay was perfect. I can't recommend the Aurea hotel enough - don't look any further.

My partner and I stayed at Aurea Museum for just one night. The room was perfect - large with an equally large bathroom. Had all the amenities you would expect from a room at a five star resort. My partner used the SPA facilities and she said they were great. While this is a five star review, I did want to mention some of the deficits we experienced - 1) The hotel staff are not nearly as helpful as one might expect at other 5 star resorts. For example - there wasn't any help with luggage on arrival and when I asked for change to feed the meters I was directed to a coffee shop where I had to make a small purchase. 2) The hotel is on a side street from the pier and unfortunately the street is home to a bunch of obnoxious scammers. There is metered parking right by the hotel and these scammers will pretend to help you park and then hound you to pay them. My partner and I despised walking just outside the hotel because we were always being accosted.

I loved everything about this hotel! We stayed in room 503 that has a beautiful partial view. The room was large and had a smart tv that allowed us to cast and use a USB to charge devices. There was an espresso machine, kettle and mini bar in the room. We purchased breakfast with our reservation and ate at their large buffet in the AM. At 1000 we met in the lobby for their museum tour. This was the highlight of our stay! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the evolution of the site location through Roman times.

I got into Lisbon recovering from a rough sickness, and the staff at Aurea Museum were so helpful and supportive. They upgraded me to a beautiful suite that faced the ocean. It was an amazing place to recover in and I felt very taken care of. Thank you so much to all of the staff who were there this last week - you guys were great!

My stay at this hotel has been perfect. The location is not far from the main tourist attractions here. The hospitality has been absolutely fantastic. In specific Joana, she has helped me find places to visit where I haven’t even considered. Also, she has recommended some authentic and delicious Portuguese restaurants. A truly amazing hotel, that cares about their clients.

One of, if not the best Hotels in Lisbon. This hotel is situated inside the museum that has restored ruins of Lisbon’s past. The staff go above and beyond for you. No request is not seen through. The rooms are very comfortable, with beautiful designs of the Portuguese discoveries of the new world. The room we stayed in had a really large balcony that overlooked the Tagus river. There is a large parking lot underground just diagonally across from the hotel which is where we kept the car. It’s also steps away from Lisbon’s most iconic square.

The rooms were really. Verg elegant and luxurious hotel. The location is also good so I recommend this place a lot. When I arrived, there was a problem with the reservation, but eventually, it was resolved.

We had a short stay and really enjoyed our stay. Great location and great facilities including: sauna, swimming pool, gym and onsite museum. Also we found the location ideal for exploring the city on foot.

It’s a nice hotel, decent room etc, but the food in the restaurant is simply not good enough. Portugal has good food everywhere and to be served a really mediocre steak with soggy fries and a miserable creamed spinach (all of which sounded delicious on the menu) in a great setting was surprising and frankly really disappointing.

Great staff at this hotel. Cheap prices for a good range of services. Very clean. The beds are a bit tough and it’s best to get a room away from the road. Very friendly staff who were very helpful even at 2am when I wanted to swap rooms because the air conditioning was not working. They sorted it and kept us happy. They were very helpful with various little things and very polite.

Had a wonderful wonderful stay! Roccio and the rest of the staff were the most helpful and resourceful imaginable. Gave me a free breakfast on arrival. The room was clean, spacious and beautiful. Bath tub big and pampering although water heat and pressure could be better. The view of the river gorgeous. The spa was closed because of covid so the ymanaged to get me a free pass to a pool elsewhere. Also it was a little over my budget so Roccio found me another hotel and made all the arrangements for me. The museum was interesting too! Definitely recommend it for whomever can afford it! Douze points.

Excavation site within the hotel. I like it here in (Lisboa) Lisbon, Portugal The hotel is only 3 years old or so but still needs improvements. Near the Alfama district (party neighborhood) and downtown Lisbon.

Im thrilled to be leaving this review. The hotel is sparkling clean, high-end finishes throughout and located extremely well. We stayed in the presidential suite and it was exquisite. Beautifully designed, spacious and a bath tub to die for. The hotel staff were pleasant and front desk manager always attended to our needs with pleasure. I will mention one thing. Our friends who were traveling with us were disappointed to see that the Jr. suite they had booked, was far inferior to the photos advertised. But other than that; no complains and will be looking forward staying at the Aurea again in the future.

Beautiful hotel with an apt name! They have a museum in the hotel with actual ruins and a guided tour. Well located, walking distance from Main Square, shops, and Time out district restaurants. Staff was very helpful, breakfast had a lot of choices, room very clean, modern, and spacious.

  • 4/5 Bogdan S. 2 years ago on Google
Big and well equipped rooms. Close to the underground, bus, bars etc. but the area is not so great. Breakfast - lack of fresh vegetables - worst coffee we ever had in a hotel (even though there were 3 machines) Room - air conditioning system makes a lot of noise (can't be used at night) Restaurant - food was bland ; definitely had higher expectations

Very amazing hotel that truly deserves its 5 star. The location is near everything and very convenient for tourists as it’s close to the centre and also close to the metro station incase anyone venture outside the centre. I wanna give a special thanks to all staff especially Fabio who was very helpful in answering all our questions and had a wonderful personality and a friendly face. Hope the management staff would use my review to give him a promotion as he truly deserves it !

Everything above our expectation.Fresly remodeled, awesome taste of decoration. Smells fresh and clean. From front desk service, cleaning, location, courtesy from all personal, I would like to give a full constellation. But I have only five stars. It will be my place everytime I have to be in Lisbon.

One of the best five (5) stars hotels I have tried in Europe. Clean rooms, friendly and informative reception, close to downtown, complete and fresh breakfast, historical building, clean and cozy pool, fantastic room service, unbelievable views, specifically when you ask for a room with river view, whatever you need you can find in this hotel. I will re-visit again.

Carolina Georgina is the best employee in that place. Such a lovely service, changed our day for the best ! Hotel is great, rooms are really nice, breakfast is good, museum is nice, just parking is terrible but every place around it is as well. Totally recommend it, for a higher budget. Great !
