Super friendly hostel in the very heart of Lisbon with a view on the roofs of Lisbon (or possibly the Rossio Place). The room was clean, the shared bathrooms were also very well maintained and clean but the very reason you should go there is for the adorable staff, always open to help you farther than you expect and genuinely friendly. Special mention to Madalena for all the good advices about Lisbon and to Celia for the night out in Lisbon with her and her friends! We even came back there to say hello when there was no more room available for us, we felt like home ❤️ I could not recommend more this lovely little place, cheap, authentic and so friendly.

Beside being in a very nice and central spot of the city, I don't see any other advantage staying at this hostel. The rooms are at the end of a four floor steep staircase, it's expensive, the rooms are minimal and not that clean, we had problems with the check in, people were smoking in a smoke free environment, the shower water wasn't always hot. I won't go back for sure

So i left after 30 min in the place! First the check in is at 15 ; ok understand! But since it wasn't crowded it could have happened earlier, i waiting exactly u til 15 and then i remembered the staff i want to go to the room! The room is awful! How come others can invest and ask for the same price and they can't! I froze in that place waiting to go to the room i truly don't recommend!

I booked only for two nights and extended directly for a week. That place feels like home - the staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are really clean and there is enough space for all backpacks. I love it that the bathrooms are outside - one for girls and one for boys. I joined the Pizza night, it was so easy to connect with other travelers and the pizza was amazing. It’s not even 5 minutes walk to the next metro station and close to Bairro Alto and Alfama. I’ll definitely come back.

We made a booking for June 2024 instead of June 2023 by mistake and then canceled after contacting them. But they were very helpful to solve our issue. They did not charge us and they contacted booking to refund the amount payed by us because we could not stay there since it was fully booked for our dates in June 2023. We are still waiting for the booking to refund us but I am making this review so others understand that the staff was very helpful and cheerful. We went to meet them to offer a drink for the help they offered but we ended being invited for dinner(it was pizza time that night) eventhough we already had dinner and just stayd for a chat with the guys working there. So hospitality was at high levels at Rossio Hostel. The location was perfect nearby train and metro station and Placa de Rossio. So reassuming highly recommended hostel with very good prices and very friendly staff.

The Hostel is located at the city centre, with great connectivity to the rest of the city (and even beyond!) via bus, metro and trains. Getting around to tourist-y spots is really easy and everything is within walking distance. The place has a welcoming vibe, with amazing staff who are very friendly and helpful. The streets outside do tend to get quite loud, which might be an issue, but was not something which bothered me. The hostel room had a storage under the bed with a locker. The storage can easily fit a cabin-size baggage and a laptop sack, and can be locked. The beds and flooring is a bit creaky, but generally did not feel unsafe. The breakfast was limited in options but not in quantity and there was more than enough! In terms of safety, rooms have a keycard entry. The main entrance is also locked at night and can be accessed by the same keycard. Special compliments to the staff who were great! All-in-all it was a wonderful experience!

We loved our stay at the Rossio Hostel, it is extremly central, the breakfast is very good, the staff is so friendly, it feels like home! I would definitly recommend it to everyone! :) Only the showers were sometimes cold and quite small for all the people. But, there was also a all-you-can-eat Pizza and Jam night, that was great and a Tappas and Faro night. :)

As an older traveler I felt right at home and welcomed at this cozy hostel in an amazing location. The staff were sweet and kind, the breakfast crepes and eggs yummy and the rooms clean with nice covers. The shower one morning wasn’t very hot but another guest pointed out the shower w hotter water. I will definitely return.

The kind of place I like. Everybody making my stay so nice and easy-going. The team, very international is like a family .. friendly to each other and to the guests... The hostel very near to Rossio Metro, in the low part of town and ideally situated to get anywhere, walk to strategic spots, get buses or tram. The kitchen/dining room area is a real plus, with a good supermarket downstairs. Breakfast are frankly very good, omelett, crepes, jam, orange juice and toast. Coffee as much as you need.. Shared bedrooms are simple but bunkbeds are confortable. Basic bathroom with timer on showers. But they are fine. Really a good deal all together and I would certainly go back and recommend it, for young and not so young. I really wish to thank everybody for making me feel so welcomed! Marie-Pierre, the still young French 'granny' xxxx

I booked my staying at Rossio hostel with some weeks in advance. Overall it’s a great deal in the center of Lisbon.. very nice people working there. The rooms are enough for what you need to do there. Sleep. You can hang out in the living area if you want. They have a small bar too plus the kitchen where you can prepare your meals. In the morning you have free breakfast prepared by magnificent Cindy and the other two girls that I forgot their names. Friendly and funny stuff. The Turkish “Jesus “ from the reception ( I forgot his name too)was exemplary and very helpful.. I very recommend this place. I’ll stay there next time for sure.

One of the Best hostel I've ever been in. Receptionists were really kind and available. Super room, with a nice view on the street and the other houses. Super buffet breakfast, eggs, toast, jams, coffee, orange juice. Clean, but hot (it's August).

Photos are deceiving! Booked what was supposed to be a spacious, sun lit 4 bed dorm. Got out in a crowded 6 bed dorm (sleeping 4 people). Despite bathroom photos, they are run down, lack ventilation and dark. I didnt even shower. The whole place is just not as nice as in photos which is a shame because the staff were so lovely. Luckily I only stayed for one night - I was so disappointed

The staff is very nice and helpful. They constantly do some kind of parties, such as pizza parties or Turkish cuisine evenings. There are also a beautiful cocktails and breakfasts.

Great location in the city centre. Lovely friendly staff and a beautiful breakfast included to start the day. The bathrooms were pretty average and need a good clean. But otherwise a good hostel for a couple of nights.

I loved this place. I had to stay at 3 different hotels during my trip and this was the best by far. The location is perfect, probably the only area in Lisbon that you can get around without climbing!! You are near the tram 28 final stop, very close to Castelo de São Jorge, Cais do Sodré, Praça do Comércio, Chiado, Catedral da Sé and Alfama. Every single place you´re going to want to visit is in walking distance, or a short metro ride. Plus the place is quite charming, the beds are excellent and the staff is very kind. I felt very comfortable. I stayed in 3 different rooms there (I booked last minute), one with a shared bath, one private and one night at a shared dorm, and all were really nice. I´ll definetely stay there again when I go back to Lisbon. Plus there´s pizza night on Wednesday, which was a lot of fun, and they have beer and drinks. And an excellent breakfast every day.

Lets face it - you stay here for the location. And it is perfect. Right above the Rossio Square, walking distance to most attractions, and metro/train stations. This was our first hostel in Europe and the service was great with staff preparing pancakes and eggs with the usual continental breakfast offerings, plus helping carry bags up the 4 floors to the room (no lift!). They also offer free walking tours and other recommendations. Ensuite room itself was nicely decorated, great view of square, but a bit noisy (mostly from other guests walking around hallway rather than square noise). The bed was a little hard and musty, and wooden floor sticky. Ensuite was clean but water leaks out from shower a little. There was a safe in room but no instructions and can just be carried away. We didnt use it. Also they advertise free laundry but there was none. We had to use laundromat.

I came to Lisbon for conference and this was the only place available for the dates I needed quite in center. So let me share my experience and hope its gonna be useful for you, future travellers to Lisbon. Place is located right in the main square, close to shops, bars, metro. Entrance is indeed through suvenier shop, but who cares ahha. Get some suvenir, dont compain. I arrived early before checkin and drooped my luggage on reception. They provide with towell and bedsheet. There is also a locker below the bed. Some rooms face main square so in morning it might be a little bit noisy but hey, anyone who stays in hostels I think have musthave with him - earplugs :) if you dont have it, get in any supermarket. The lobby is suuuuper cozy coz hostel is located in an old bulding with wooden wall structure. Breakfast and bar - my best parts of the day there. Girls bath floor was filled with water a few times, but that fixed after I went and informed staff about it. Staff.. Kamal, Patricia, Rezul, kitchen ladies and everyone else.. I have never met more friendly reception staff ever haha. They know their job, they are super cute and friendly, not boring and open for help and assistance! 5 stars to each of you guys! see yaa soon

A great hostel in the heart of Lisbon with extremely friendly staff. The rooms are a decent size and the shared bathrooms are kept very tidy. There is also a delicious breakfast included in the price which is a great perk for a hostel. I definitely recommend this hostel if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the centre of Lisbon. The photo attached shows the beautiful view from the room.

Rooms are clean and quaint. The communal spaces are awesome. The people working are well informed about the neighborhood should you want to nip out for a bite. Lovely area to just wonder about. The breakfast is one they are proud and let me tell you, I didn't expect it.

Ideally i want to give 3.5 since it's average (nothing bad to call out and nothing great except location). It was a cute hostel in the central area! Very convenient to everything in Lisbon! I stayed there for 2 nights. They have complimentary breakfast which is nice (although decent expensive - like all other hostels) and clean bathrooms. Rooms are spacious! Self Laundry is close by.

Friendly staff, great location and comfortable bed. There's no elevator so pack light! Try the Portuguese green wine and just around the corner on the right you'll find those delicious custard tarts "di Nata".

Rossio Hostel is a lovely place to stay with even nicer people! I want to thank Ivo, Lewis, Patricia, Elsa, Nelcy, Cintia, Bruna for making my stay a fantastic one! From our good chats with everyone to the amazing pizza by Mom and creating a cocktail with Patricia, it was a great experience altogether. The location is perfect too. Just off Rossio Plaça, you're right in the heart of Lisbon! Definitely recommend staying with the folks at Rossio!

Could not get a better place in the entire city! Facilities are not necessarily the best (mal function of toilet and shower) but located in the heart of Lisbon and with access to everything you need in all angles.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Beds were a bit hard and my room had no space to lock away my luggage as they were undergoing refurb but they had a safe which worked. The glass doors in the communal bathrooms are frosted, unlike the pictures but no secure dry area for your belongings whilst in the shower. All this being said, I solo travelled here and I've been non stop hanging out with other people since I got here! Every meal has been shared and I will be recommending this hostel to everyone wanting to come to Lisbon. I'll definitely be back go Lisbon and I'll definitely be coming back here!

We had a great stay at Rossio Hostel. Service, and cleanliness were very good. Good view from the room and very central. They also decorated our room for our anniversary which started our holiday on a sweet note. The only down side is you had to go up 5 flights of stairs but after a few times you get used to it 🤣. Overall good experience and would come back again.

Rossio Hostel was the best hostel I have ever experienced. I splurged for a private room and requested a room with a great view and can't believe I was staying at a hostel and not some 4 star hotel. This hostel is conveniently located in the heart of the beautiful Rossio Square and a block away from both Metro and Train, very easy to get around as long as you are okay with hills. You can walk to the most touristy spots of Lisbon within minutes and feel completely safe every step of the way. The staff at Rossio hostel went above and beyond to make me valued and to make sure that I enjoyed both my stay at their hostel and in the beautiful city.

We had a great experience is rossio hostel. The view from the room was nice, the stuff are all very warm and lovely. It is not far from the transportations or the shopping area. Breakfast was very generous with diffrent choices. I personaly enjoyed every background music in the bar. We felt home. The only thing that surprised me was that the rooms are mixed, i did don't expect that. Lucky us we manage to get a beautiful private room. Thanks for making our stay in Lisbonne a great experience.
