Everyone rating this place anything other than 5 stars is absolutely crazy. We came here for dinner and had an absolutely amazing experience. The restaurant is relatively small, so definitely an intimate experience. The aesthetic was really nice and modern looking as well. Service was A+++. Anytime our napkin came remotely close to touching the floor, a waiter was there with a fresh one within seconds. If your drink was close to being finished, waiter was there with a refill. The second you finished a course, they were there to clean the table. They had an impeccable eye for all the little details! The food was phenomenal. Each and every course we had was plated beautifully and tasted fantastic. Normally when you go to a place like this, you expect to leave hungry, but we were stuffed. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Lisbon, looking for a nice dinner out!

Best dinner I have had in a while. I love fine dining, but the usual 3 hour affair usually tests my stamina. The dinner at Loco came in a rapid fire format of 18 courses (Loco called them "moments"), keeping the event fun and lively and would fit into the time of a Hollywood movie. Each starter course was but a single bite, whereas the main courses were slightly more substantial. Each course quickly followed when I finished the previous one, so the chef had precise control of the progression of taste on my palate. And the chef has taken advantage of that control masterfully. The music of taste built up gradually with clear and directed development in taste, fragrance, acid and fat among other elements. The courses formed cadenzas with heightening volume with refreshing rests and gentle fade out from the climax. Compared to the starred restaurants in London, Loco noticeably had not included an egg dish (to show off the chef's skill in preparing such a common ingredient) or tried too hard to standout with unorthodox taste combinations. The end result was the perfect menu that was creative without becoming strange, and was impressive without trying too hard to impress. Bravo! Five stars.

A fantastic experience and so worth it! The staff are super knowledgeable about everything they are serving and the chefs take turns to present the dishes and take you through it. The pairings with the meal (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were perfect and every dish was full of flavour and delicious.

It really is quite a special dining experience. Lasting 2-3 hours, Loco takes you on a 16/17 course extravaganza of Portuguese produce done in an incredibly special and intimate playing environment. Seating only 24 people, the staff make you feel quite special as they tailor the drinks prior to your interests. On the evening we went, I disclosed a fondness for craft beer but understood the wine pairing was exactly that, but they still managed to sneak in a taste of their own homemade ipa! All the courses were special - can’t pick one or two to highlight but the entire experience is epic and you won’t leave disappointed or hungry. Also arguably the single best coffee I’ve had to round it all off!

What an amazing experience. If you want a meal you will never forget then you must eat here. The service was beyond. You can really tell how passionate everyone is about what they are doing. We loved how unstuffy and unpretentious Loco felt even though it’s fine dining and Michelin star. And our sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and really transported you with the descriptions of the beverage. 16 courses is a lot of food but we left satisfied and not over stuffed. We were there for about 4 hours and made our reservation about a month in advance for a weeknight. Also the dinning room doesn’t seat a lot of tables which makes it feel intimate. Really cool being able to watch the chefs work with the open kitchen and some dishes are presented in a unique way. The food is super innovative but really delicious. Loved that it was seasonal and still Portuguese flavors. And the price is reasonable for what it is.

A culinary gem of this great city. Behind the Church of Stars, only Michelin stars can shine. An absolutely impeccable service. The waiters move in the space like ballerinas of one of Tchaikovsky's ballets. The kitchen clean and tighty, where the chefs work with the precision of a Swiss watch. The 17 course experience is a real culinary trip of the senses. The presentation, the taste and the explanations given for each course like a magical fairytale. A trip to Lisbon is not completed without a visit to this culinary institution, if you can afford it. Bravo for the excellence.

This is my 11th experience at a Michelin 1 Star or higher restaurant and this was on the lower end of those experiences. It's important to understand my rating is not in comparison to the pizza shop down the street, but to others in this category. I felt like they were trying too hard on plating and presentation, but not enough on the tastes. We were disappointed with a few courses, but the Service was a 9/10. The service could have been improved with a bit more elegance and coordination. I think this is where it fell short. The price was also not on par with other experiences and the "begging" at the end for a gratuity was necessary and guilted us into donating an additional €75 on an already ¢635 Euro bill for three people, one with no alcohol. The atmosphere was plain and bland. This place, like the tree in the entrance, has died. Overall I would not return.

I’ve been to Loco for a dinner and the food was amazing, as everyone can expect from a Michelin star restaurant. Unfortunately there were a few things I didn’t like at all: first of all, the waiter explicitly asked us to pay more for the service (in a country where the service should be included, and anyway if I want to pay more for the service, I’ll do, but it’s rude to ask). Then, we felt somehow forced to add 10% more on our bill for the service and she added instead 26% more (we paid by card, so we didn’t really checked if she added the right percentage when we paid, but we realised it when she gave us the receipt). They put us in un uncomfortable situation to ask why this happened and after a few minutes of waiting they came back by returning us the difference in order to make us paying anyway 10% more. I felt this twice rude, because it was a big mistake from their side and I assumed they refunded us the entire service cost, including that 10%. The situation was even more absurd when they brought us two jackets that were not ours, with extreme confidence. I’m not usually a picky person, but if I go to a Michelin star restaurant I can’t tolerate these mistakes, especially if I end up paying even 10% more for the service. Besides this, there was a strong smell of smoke that covered the smell of the food (I don’t think this was intentional, because it was extremely strong) and, when the chefs/waiters explained us the food ingredients, we could barely hear them, due to the location acoustic. I give 3 stars because the food was top quality, but it would have been 1 without considering the food.

No doubt I will come back to this restaurant. It was not easy to get a reservation with not so much time in advance but it is worth trying to go. The service was exceptional with waiters that knew how to explain the dishes, that interacted with you and that were very professional. Second, the food was amazing. Each dish had its own identity and flavors what made it even more special. Finally, the restaurant only has 7 tables what makes the atmosphere very cozy.

First time getting the chance to eat a Michelin-starred restaurant; no regrets at all! Easily the best meal of my life, and the service was amazing as well. I forgot to take a picture of 2 of the courses, but everything was spectacular. It was great to try out a modern take on Portuguese cuisine. If you aren’t a big wine drinker, try the non-alcoholic pairings! The plum kombucha they make especially is amazing. You might expect not to be full judging by the small portions, but the timing of everything left me comfortably full by the end of the night.

While with a large portion of the restaurant being occupied by the open kitchen, I find it to be a distinctive and interesting detail that I not once have heard the noise of a normal kitchen. you can follow all the precise moves from all the LOCO ‘soldiers’. The way everything is fluently organised, no details is missed, totally focused working cohesively in perfect harmony leaves you even more in admiration . A true exhibition of splendid teamwork creating a culinary experience made out of the carefully locally sourced and prepared ingredients. It indeed transforms you into moments which you will be difficult to forget.

Went to Loco for a surprise birthday meal, and honestly it has been one of the best birthday meals I have had so far. The atmosphere was fabulous and so was the service, been offered complimentary wine and also birthday cake. The food itself was great and the favours will dance in your mouth, with each dish we had a beautiful presentation. With each course we been told about what it contains and its origin. Recomand it 10/10!

Had the pleasure of dining here during their pop up dinner with Zaiyu Hasegawa. It was my third time at the restaurant and it never disappoints. The decor is zen, food is more inventive and creative than the other classic michelin starred local chefs who dare I say are far more overrated and boring. Great ingredient quality, though those that live in Portugal would understand that the wine pairing cost ratio is slightly exaggerated and I would encourage slightly more interesting options. That said, Loved my experience.

Best meal by far in Lisbon. Visited a 2 star Michelin and other similar rated places and Loco was far and above the best.

Fantastic, amazing, awesome dining experience. Service was impeccable from the moment we stepped in. The restaurant manager was knowledgeable in the food and alcohol that the restaurant is serving and he was extremely charming, making us feel right at home with Loco. From snacks to starters, main course, dessert and petite fours, they have paid so much attention to our dietary preference. The team was also extremely patient with us as we asked about the dishes and its contents. It was my friends and mine’s first night in Lisbon and I am so glad that we started it the right way.

This was our first Michelin restaurant experience and we couldn't have asked for a better time. Jerome's wine pairings were so delicious and unique, and the food was amazing. They effortlessly accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions with some amazingly creative substitutions. The vibe in the restaurant was very laid back and not stuffy at all. The octopus with carrot puree was the star of the night, but every course exceeded our expectations.

Definitely a must visit! I would recommend to go with wine-pairing and if you are offered coffee - just say “yes”😉 Every dish was “oh, that’s a favorite one”. Tastes were exceptional, good overview on local Portuguese specialties. Presentation and the guidance to every dish is pure love. At the same time very cozy place!

Please, do yourself the favor of trying to get a table here if you're ever in Lisboa. Whoever rates this place lower than 5 stars has been smoking too much of the Devil's lettuce lately. The atmosphere is pristine, the entire staff are warm and welcoming, and the food is straight up exquisite. Loco has my utmost gratitude of housing us for a night that won't be forgotten for a long time. Side note; do yourself the favor of ordering the wine pairing. Trust me, they know what they're doing.

Coming from New York City, we have a good repertoire of restaurants. However, anything short of 5 stars is a disservice. This was hands down the best dining experience of our lives.Don’t skimp and get the wine pairings. Unbelievable service, food, and experience. Thank you Loco!

An amazing experience from start to finish! The team are very passionate, informative and friendly, and every chef comes out to explain a dish and we got some incredible wine recommendations. It’s got much more of an informal vibe than stuffy Michelin stars, which makes it really chilled to sit there for 3 hours. And 17 courses! All beautifully presented, hyper seasonal and very tasty! Thanks to the Loco team for a great night! Look forward to coming again in the future

A M A Z I N G! That word doesn’t even seem to cover our experience at Loco. From the minute you walk in the door the Loco team is there to make sure your evening is the best possible experience in Lisbon. And it is nothing less then a team effort creating a well orchestrated experience. Everyone there loves their job and it shows. Every moment served from snacks to dessert are a one of a kind experience. My husband and I have eaten around the world and this is definitely one of the top meals we have had. Thank you Chef Alexandre and staff for an experience we will not forget. You deserve every Michelin star and award you have received.

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing (17 courses). Hyperseasonal menu. Great attention for detail. The open kitchen works like a symphony.

Had a lovely tasting menu at LOCO. The menu was very inventive and I particularly liked the non-alcoholic pairing. I particularly enjoyed the bread course, the quail pancakes and the first mousse dessert. Premises were beautiful. Great location. Staff were very enthusiastic about the no-waste concept. The restaurant tries to contact diners three days or so before the booking but this created some extra stress trying to make sure the booking would go ahead as the restaurant was uncontactable over the weekend. I understand restaurants want to protect themselves from no-shows. It might be better to take card details and charge for non-attendance, or get diners to buy non-refundable tickets, which we did recently at a different fine dining restaurant.

This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and boy it did not disappoint! I made this reservation 3 months in advance for our wedding anniversary. This was the coolest and craziest culinary experience. The menu consisted of 16 “moments” that are based on seasonal offerings and are inspired by Portuguese flavors. The food was incredible and the service simply impeccable. They also offer wine pairings or you can order by the glass. This was a very special experience that we will never forget! They even added another “moment” for us because of our special occasion. Compliments to the chef and the entire Loco team for making our night so very special.

An experience to be had while in Lisbon. The passion for food shines through and the entire staff was unpretentious and engaging. Loved watching the preparation happen and the time flew by as course after delicious course was presented.

Let’s start with what was good… the service was fantastic and the atmosphere and decor were great. The staff do go above and beyond and did salvage our experience to a certain extent. However we were massively let down by the food. It wasn’t bad by any means but I guess our expectations were high (as I think they should be) at €156 per head. Firstly, the portion sizes were not substantial, and after 16 “courses” we felt as hungry as we were coming into the restaurant. Only 2/3 of the mains we would consider to be proper mains, the rest were all snacks/ bite sized servings. The food itself looked good visually and it did seem like a lot of effort was put into making it, but flavour wise, nothing completely blew us away. Again nothing was outright bad per se, but for €156 per head you’d expect a few dishes to really stand out and be very memorable. We were also surprised that there weren’t any “high value” ingredients used, out of the 16 courses we had. The most expensive thing served to us (that we could tell) was probably the octopus. To give you an idea, there was a main course just serving broccoli but 4 different ways. It felt like they were using cheap ingredients and adding a spin to it to justify the prices charged. We have had degustation before, and have always left with memorable experiences with the food and with a full stomach, whereas we left hungry and dissatisfied with the food. Overall based on our experience, we felt like what you got didn’t really justify the cost of the meal.

Incredible experience at Loco. First of all, the service given at the restaurant is superb, everyone gave a lot of attention to detail, and help us understand the flow of the night with every dish on our tables. Then, the food was incredible, specially the snacks, those were mind-blown. I cant stress how good of an experience this was and I highly recommend it!

Quite the experience. Not used to food of this caliber, so was a little out of our comfort zones, but everything was very good. Even gave us a free extra dessert for the special occasion we were celebrating!

Been to several Michelin restaurants in sf, New York, etc and this was up there as one of my favorites. What a delightful and truly gastronomical experience. Service was casual, unpretentious, welcoming, yet very professional and attentive. Keep up the good work team.

Our dinner here last week was exceptional in every way. We had the tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully presented. Their flavors were subtle, multilayered and absolutely brilliant. Wine pairing was perfect. Helpful and attentive staff. Handsome room. A perfect dinner experience.

I have been to several Michelin restaurants and this one is also good, but not excellent. The wine was great and the food was good and the presentation perfect, but the taste was not memorable. Still 4 stars for service, hospitality and wine!
