This is the worst that foot I ever had in Lisbon. Among three pieces of fried cod in a dish, one was hot and two were cold ( I think they were left over). In Bilbao patio clams (20 small pieces) dish, only eight had meat and the rest were only shells. Wine select was limited. The half liter wine taste terrible. Flamed sausage looked fancy, but taste liked nominal supermarket sausage, it was still cold inside. My son and I waited more than 20 minutes to pay the bill. After I went back to our apartment, my son was still hungry and ate a sandwich, and I found they charged us two items that we did not ordered. The Kitchen is small like a family kitchen size. A young man and a mid-age woman cooked in the kitchen. A girl and young man serve customers. It does not look a decent restaurant. I think 4.5 review rating does not reflect food quality and services.

Tasty food! And friendly service. This looks like a small family run affair so a bit of patience is required, as one powerhouse of a lady took all orders and served. Recommended to come early (before opening time, e.g. ~645pm) and line up as seats are limited and go very quickly! Worth the wait though.

Nothing compares to local homemade food This is by far the best place to have dinner, in a cozy and familiar environment. As someone said, no need to rush it, take the time and enjoy the experience. Portions are good in size with prices very well aligned. Tasty food, friendly serving and fun experience. If dining inside, prepare to have your clothes getting the food aromas back home :) PS: curios to visit again and check if the Padron Peppers will get the 🧄 "fusion" option 😉

Wonderful place to have amazing lunch or dinner! It’s quite touristic, but I saw locals having their meals there as well. Reasonable prices, big portions, good wine! Be careful- NOW THEY ACCEPT CASH ONLY but as I understand this is temporary We stood in a line for a few minutes, but it was worth it! We took fish and squid with potatoes and tried Portuguese green wine. I highly recommend this place!

A gorgeous, tiny, local restaurant. Rough and ready, the food and service does the talking. Hardly any tables so it took us two tries to be able to come and eat. The food was simple but so delicious! Delighted that we were able to try real authentic Portuguese food. Food and drinks were so affordable, would recommend for a quiet dinner.

Short stroll away from the main tourist area. This place is tugged away in a quieter area, food and service were superb. The restaurant comes with unique character. Absolutely love this place, got two complimentary dessert wine with the dessert. Must try place in Lisboa.

An incredible local restaurant with no frills but big flavours. The menu is very authentic and so can be slightly confusing but the staff are so kind and guide you through every dish. They advised that I was going to order too much for a solo diner which is very honest - respect. I had the cod fritter, sardine main and chocolate mousse desert. Little shot of Gingha with the desert really sweetened the meal. There can be a queue but it’s worth it 👌🏻

A not to be missed gem! A small and bustling spot, yet service is always with a smile and very personable as well as honest to goodness heart warming delish food. Our AirBnB is just around the corner and we came almost everyday during our 1 week stay here. The waitstaff is so switched on, remembering where we sat and ordered on previous days. She’s def a keeper. During our stay, we have also dined in 1 and 2 Michelin restaurants. Tu n Eu captivated us more and we’ll be singing praises to friends who is visiting this region too. We are also moved by the story of the owner on why Maria started this joint. Thanks for making our stay here an even more memorable one❤️

Amazing experience! One of the few restaurants in this area (in my opinion)that tries to give a non fully tourist experience. The food was cooked very good and the waitress was kind. I had the luck to find a table because there is always a bit of queue. I recommend to come here! And the quality-price ratio is very good

If you're looking for the best seafood experience in Lisbon, look no further than Tu e Eu! One of the standout dishes is the sardines. Perfectly grilled, they are plump and juicy. Another dish that's not to be missed is the octopus salad. The octopus is tender and succulent, with a subtle brininess that pairs perfectly with the crisp greens and tangy dressing. The fried Cod is a must-try as well. The batter is light and crispy, while the cod inside is flaky and tender. Last but not least, the Shrimp a bras are simply delicious. These grilled prawns are seasoned to perfection, with a hint of garlic and lemon that adds a zesty kick to the dish. The prawns are perfectly cooked, with a juicy texture that will leave you wanting more. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good food.

Great but small local restaurant with amazing food. The squid, octopus and fried cod were my favourites with so much flavour and a good balance of textures. You cannot make a reservation here so standing in line is the only way to get a table but our wait wasn’t too long (approx 20-30 mins) and it was definitely worth it.

So, so good. We got a bunch of items and it was all amazing. We especially loved the bacalau and the fresh cheese. The service was so warm and friendly it felt like we were eating at a friend's place. Highly recommend!

Very nice outdoor sitting. Food is good but portion is a little small. The grilled sardines is the best one I’ve had in Portugal. Octopus salad is a little on the salty side but very fresh. The service is wonderful. Although they’re very busy but the server handles things very well, and she’s super nice.

What an amazing experience! The waitresses were super friendly and hospitable. One of the best services we’ve ever experienced! We had to wait outside along with many other people until it opened, and once it did the waitresses rushed to serve us (with incredible friendliness) Food smelled amazing, tasted amazing! The atmosphere in there is so nice, music was good and people were dancing and singing to it. 10/10 would recommend.

Being at our doorstep, this was our first Lisbon eating experience. Fantastic... we had to resist the urge to come here all the time because we also wanted to try other eateries. Cool vibe; friendly staff; good prices... really recommend

Everything about this restaurant will charm you and pull at your heartstrings, beginning with the menu and the epic love story of why the restaurant is named the way it is (bring tissues), the quirkiness of the actual restaurant (If you are lucky you’ll find a spot to write your name on), the service was lovely and the food was to die for, you can taste the care and pride. This is def a restaurant I would recommend for you try.

This restaurant was near where we were staying. We loved it so much that we ate there twice during our short Lisbon visit. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, the food was hearty and tasty, the place was very small but cosy. I particularly recommend the fried cod, the egg and rice dishes, and the rich chocolate mousse. It’s worth the occasional queuing. Adding your little graffiti at the end of your meal is always a fun way to finish your dinner.

OMG! Our walking tour ended in Alfama and we were trying to decide where to get dinner when we came across this place. It is on a nondescript walking path. The place is cozy with limited indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating. All the dishes we had were delicious and you can see it being prepared in their small open kitchen in the back of their restaurant. We were too full for dessert, but it probably was delicious.

We never would have walked past this place by accident, and even if we did, I am not sure we would have dared venture in. But thanks to a local's recommendation, we went looking for it and ate the most amazing meal in Lisbon! It is a tiny place, with tables quite close together and writing all over the wall, so not for you if your looking for a fine-dining experience. But if you want good Portuguese food from a very passionate staff, then get there early to try and grab yourself a table! The server was amazing, explaining everything about the food and making great recommendations. The food was so delicious, from the garlicky prawns to the creamed eggs with sausage, we loved it all. And be sure to get a dessert and a cheeky Ginjinha shot at the end whilst you sign your name to the array of messages on the walls and tables!

The food was really good. Specially the sardines. It is a bit hard to sit on the bench as it is pretty small but overall great.

Lovely place! You get a small selection of typical portuguese food and its very good. I can recommend the cod à brás. The history behind the restaurant is very cute too, you can read the text on the front page of the menu. That's why the walls inside the restaurant are full of love messages made by customers.

We got here around 8:30pm on a weekday and had to wait 30 mins for a table. We’re so glad we waited though because we really enjoyed the food! We tried the sardines, chorizo and clams. Everything tasted really great. The waitresses were also really sweet and provided great service. We will definitely dine here again!

This was my happy place in Lisbon. We stayed for one week and ended up eating here 3 times!! Waitress was very friendly and the food is great. This will be one of the reasons I’m sad to leave this town.

It lives up to the expectations! Friendly service and the food is truly delicious! I can recommend the sardines and the chocolate mousse. Be early to get a table. We were waiting at 18:30 (restaurant opened at 19:00) at 20:00 when we left there was a line of people that could fill the restaurant three times over.

The loveliest dinner experience we had in Lisbon, the service was absolutely amazing and friendly. Patience is required but definitely a dinner place worth spending a while at, as the food is all very fresh and home made. Highly recommend the octopus salad!

Great hole in the wall Portuguese restaurant in Lisbon! To get seats go really early because it tends to get cramped. The grilled sardines was awesome! Side salad was really refreshing and complemented the whole meal. Also ordered the buttered shrimp and clams to share. Would recommend!

Amazing experience! Tasty qualitative food, nice staff and location. Everything was so good I can’t wait to go back. Just be prepared to wait for a free table if it’s lunch or dinner time.

It's a very small establishment, and supremely busy during lunch. I was able to nab a seat inside and ordered: 1) clams = liked that a dry white wine was used. Did enjoy, but some of the clams did have some grit. Bread is a must 2) shrimp = very salty, but had that excellent briny flavor from the head fat. 3) side of bread = bread was a bit dry and not particularly very good. Overall the food was good, but not amazing. The service was average, and I'd give this a solid 3.5

Had to wait a bit, but worth my time. Very tasty food and smiling and great energy waitress. Ask for the chorizo, it will surprise you. The fried pork was very-very good, so was the grilled sardines, even if sardines were coverd by a souce we found too sweet for our taste. I will come back :)

Food is great. I recommend either to arrive when place opens or around 3 pm. Otherwise you can wait 50 minutes for a table (from experience, either way I think it was worth the wait)

Great selection of food - especially seafood dishes. It’s a very tightly packed restaurant from a seating perspective, however the staff are friendly and attentive and the wait wasn’t too long during lunch hours. It’s cash only but would’ve been ideal if they accepted card payments. Overall a great lunch spot!

Best food in Lisbon, very nice atmosphere. Come ~10 minutes before opening to get a table right away. White sangria is amazing, all of the food is great. If I come back to Lisbon I will 100% come here again.

Tasty Portuguese food. The atmosphere of the place is amazing. Portuguese as well as tourists eat there. Everyone is talking, but no one is bothering anyone. Walls signed by customers with greetings. Service nice, helpful. You don't have to wait long for the dishes. A place worth visiting near the Se Cathedral.

Absolutely amazing. Inside is unique. Very small with small tables. Chairs without backs. Food amazing. We had grilled squid which was soft and flavorful. The grilled sardines were also tasty, no fishy taste. My favorite was the squid salad. So freaking. Service even better. Highly recommend.

Wonderful dinner at this small bistro in Lisboa. Small menu of tradional local cusine cooked to order in an open kitchen. Ordered several entrees and side dishes as well as drinks. Service was excellent and ended the meal with ginjinha with our host.

The best dining experience we’ve had on our trip here! Everything was very delicious, we tried the grilled sardines which were juicy even though it’s almost out of season, the grilled beef cubes which was very tender, a fresh salad and the best fried bacalau cakes on our trip. For dessert we also had the best chocolate mousse we’ve both ever tasted (it was like if cake was ice cream, out of this world). The waitress was also very friendly! Will recommend this place in the future to anyone I know who are going to Lisbon. (p.s. they don’t take reservations, so show up and queue up, you won’t regret it)

The place for fresh, authentic tapas! There's lots of delicious, typical selections available at an affordable price. I'd recommend to prefer a few more plates as they're bite size but you also get to try more dishes. The restaurant is small so there might be a wait as there are not as many tables but it's worth the wait. The vibe is cosy and unique being in a courtyard of the Alfama neighbourhood. Big props to the owner and chef who runs the whole show/kitchen. Def recommend Lisbon Tu & Eu and will come back :)

It is so good to drink a soup! And eat a local sausage. We pass here by causual, and it it lovely place, under vine plants. The lady is really nice to us even though we only ordered two stuff at late time. Make me love more Lisbona. Fire sausage is amazing for me.

Everything is so fresh and tasty, you can tell it’s made with love. It’s not a meal to be rushed, but to be enjoyed. So take your time here and laugh and drink wine together :)
