I left the restaurant with mixed feelings. The food is good as expected, but I was missing the last bit of finesse. The aromas are sometimes not nicely combined or simply too intense, so that they completely cover the taste of all other ingredients. In any case, the sommelier's performance should be positively emphasized. The selected wines matched perfectly with the food. The rest of the service seemed very stressed and over-formal during the evening. Here a little less would have been more.

The bakery is divine! I just can’t stop eating! Wine pairing is fine, you can tell the chef put a lot of effort in every dishes. The lamb is my favorite!

Epur Preface.. We arrived 30min late due to road closures and the team was super accommodating. As matter of fact, the host reached out an hour earlier to advise us of this situation. Ambiance: Interior set in a 300yr old building. You walk thru an unassuming front door to see glass enclosed kitchen prep area. Dining space was simple yet inviting. Wide plank wood floors, half tiled walls and oversized wood tables with windows overlooking old Lisbon… just like someone’s home :) Food: We went with the Inspirações tasting for $115€ and was utterly blown away by the chef’s flawless execution of every dish and the carefully curated menu. To start, the oyster was a single bite, it was packed with flavor of the ocean, gentle citrus kiwi flavor that did not overpower. Main course included a scarlet prawn surrounded by red pepper curry broth. The prawn was served in perfect temperature and texture. The broth elevated, not overwhelm the main ingredient- not an easy task. The milk-fed leg of lamb was the most delicate piece of lamb one can sink their teeth into. Each bite was heavenly. Make no mistake, it is all about the food and it’s execution. This was the 3rd Michelin star meal in 3 consecutive days in Lisbon. Chef Vincent Farges deserves 2 Michelin star because each dish was simple yet elegant, consistent and focused. It wasn’t about quantity but quality. I cannot say the same for Alma or Loco.

We really enjoyed the food and the ambience. The salt balance was excellent. We took 6 courses menu and that was enough food as the portions are small. Bread service was quite poor: three different, but at the same time the same type of bread. Deer dish (this is how they call venison) was Extra-rare or Blue (bleu) around +38-40 degrees and quite chewy. As at Michelin star restaurant the staff should be more helpful. Our plates and glasses stayed empty too long on the table. We wish good luck at this difficult times!

It's cool. Definitely an experience. The chef works with seasonal ingredients and changes the menu every 3 months or so. Wine is only Portuguese. Some of the food disagreed with me, unfortunately. The staff was very nice :)

I've had around eight or nine tasting menus in the just few years & this was unfortunately the weakest. The food was generally nice (a lot very nice) but there were parts of the menu that outright didn't work or were possibly the execution wasn't right. The smoked aubergine part of a lamb dish was so bitter as to be inedible. We both left this on the plate so it should have been clear there was an issue on a small plate but staff didn't ask about it. Can't imagine a chef tasted this & thought it was okay to go out. The bread selection course was nice but over substantial. The €80 for the matched wine was very expensive for what was received, I don't mind paying for top stuff & professional selection normally. Drinks arrived with every other course rather than a small serving to go with each dish as has been a more positive experience in the past. Service was a little over officious & stiff, the position of cutlery on the table seemed to be more of a priority than whether or not customers were enjoying the food. Not to under estimate the overall quality of the majority of the dishes & the cooking (which was very good). Just overall you would expect very high standards across the board. Everyone at the restaurant seemed nice.

Super cozy setting with beautiful tiled walls. Pleasantly surprised to see art made od persian carpet strung up on the wall. Service was great and the waiters took good care of us. The sommelier was experienced and recommended great wines to pair the dishes since we didn't go for the wine pairing. We went for the Epurismo menu which was set at €140 per person. Each of the three first plates were very unique in flavour. I struggled a bit with the texture and hardness of the mussle, but flavours were on point. The bread was nothing special, but it came with delicious butter and a an amazing glaze. The tomato and jalapeño sorbet might have been my favourite dish of the night. They nailed every component of the dish, and it took me by surprise. Amberjack cooked to perfection, and so was the angus meat. The other dishes were great, but didn't really hit home. I really struggled with the scarlet prawn, the texture was quite slimy and the foam was very intense. All in all a pretty decent experience.

Excellent Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of Lisbon. Great views over the city and even greater culinary delights. The sommelier is very knowledgeable, and they only carry Portuguese wines at this restaurant.

What should have been the peak of our culinary trip to Lisbon, unfortunately didn’t fully meet our expectations. Don’t get me wrong: the venue with its view over the city is beautiful, the menu was very tasty and definitely earned the Michelin Star. However, the service was definitely not up to this recognition. Cutlery was forgotten once, we waited for the wine card for 30 minutes and when telling the service in a polite way about those shortcomings, the feedback was simply taken without apology or whatsoever. Overall a very good quality of the kitchen and all in all the evening was very nice and enjoyable. However given the Michelin recognition, we would have expected a little more.

Painstakingly prepared food with carefully selected ingredients and young, passionate staff striving for perfection. My most lasting impression, interestingly, is of the fine, distinct wines served to pair with the food and the well-versed sommelier whose enthusiasm for his wines was contagious. Deep regrets for not having taken photos of the wines!

I am so grateful to chef Vincent Farges for a delightful exploration of his culinary vision. Every meal in the offered taste menu was created painstakingly to the details: from marriage of ingredients to the difference, but surprising unification of the textures, both creating unforgettable pallette. The service was matching the level of the mastership of the food . The only really minor note was a choice of the red wine accomplishing venison: perhaps it was slightly too high in tannin. That's perfectly fine to me, but was not to the taste of my colleague. Nevertheless, the whole experience is trully unforgettable and I may cordially suggest any true food connoisseur to visit this beautiful place.

A truly magnificent experience. Fresh off a Michelin star Epur went above and beyond any expectations. The view from the dining room is a wonderful snapshot of the city. The staff are friendly and accommodating the food is not only beautiful and delicious but plentiful. I know some people make fun of fancy meals saying you get tiny bites and have to go to McDonald’s after…this will not be the case here. Some highlights on what I am sure is an ever changing menu were the bread course and the deserts. Please get the wine pairings as they elevate all the food dishes. My one complaint would be the bathroom sink took me 10 minutes to figure out !! It was overly confusing but they could of been the wine talking.

Solid fine dining restaurant. Not a big fan of the cucumber pre dessert dish and the oxtail dish is slightly over salty but overall a solid place. The main reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the tipping part. I was asked if I was going to tip and I said yes (of course since I’m from America I’m used to tipping). For 160 bill I’d tip 20% (for a non tipping culture like Portugal it’s a lot) but they added 40 euro which is 25% when they hand me the bill instead of letting me do it. I mean it isn’t a big difference between 20 and 25% but the way they added automatically without asking puts me off a little.

Menu we chose: Inspiracoes course Price: 115 euros person, excluding extra drinks and tax (for us, the total was 365 euros for 3 people because we ordered wine) Taste: Each dish was very unique and delicious, especially the 2 main courses (fish and black angus) and the bread. Epur offered a wide range of bread and local sauces. The black angus dish was perfectly cooked with a side of potato with stuffing and mushrooms. For the fish dish, I initially thought it would taste creamy because of how it looked, however, the fish dish was by far my favorite because the taste was a perfect surprise combo of sourness from yuzu and saltiness from the shellfish and oyster. Duration: 2.5 hr Location: Only took us 10 minute walk from our hotel in downtown Lisbon and the restaurant has nice ocean view from the main room Ambience: Clean and minimal

Undeniably this unforgettable supper was one of the best fine dining dinners of my life. Amazingly delicious and perfect dishes, masterful wine selection and pairing. The relaxed atmosphere with the staff at the end of the dinner demonstrates the high standard of hospitality in Portugal.

I had an excellent 150-minute dining experience at Epur. I ordered wines by the glass and thought they were very reasonably priced (~9 to 15 EUR). Based on those prices, I don't think the 80 EUR wine pairing is worth it. I ordered the Epurismo menu, which included two additional courses including my favorite dish (oxtail with pasta) and was quite filled before the dessert. Our servers were very attentive as expected and I very much enjoyed their synchronized table service (yes there was a lot of focus on utensil placement but we had some fun with it ;)). My least favorite dish was the shrimp.

Too many words would make a review this good boring to read! The main ingredient of each dish was the star but beautifully accompanied. Simple surroundings set off an accomplished menu, clever wines and excellent service. It would be daft to rely on this review. .go try for yourself!

In Lisbon, Epur sets the standard which other restaurants can only dream to achieve. The friendly, efficient, unhurried service combined with the calm ambiance puts the diner at ease. Of course, the food is unquestionably outstanding, but also surprises with some unique flavours and textures. Altogether a truly enjoyable evening.

Romantic dinner with a tasty menu. I’m always excited to try new items with a twist. Dinning with a renowned chef always makes for an exciting adventure. I will also point out that the waiters and service persons always heighten that experience. We had lovely waiters who made the dinning experience even better. Food was stimulating but my mind could not wrap around the fact my wine pours ( wine pairing) were substantially less than my husbands! Come to find out, wine pours throughout the world are suffering. Luckily, my husband noticed my smaller glass, and my fury, and give me a sip from his glass as compensation toward female equality. On the other hand, as a foreigner, I was embarrassed by the patrons next to us from Spain who complained and questioned every dish and the way it was made in comparison to their own country. The servers, I noted, went above and beyond to cater to them with a smile. This restaurant will go above and beyond for the patron….. when in reality they do not have to. The food is good…. It could even still push the limit more. Thank you for the service, new tastes , and pride in culture. Great work and many thanks on the food and service.
