This restaurant was packed but we were lucky to have a table. The mushroom was stuffed with mayonnaise and baked. Really good to start our dinner with. Cured ham was aged 4 years and was excellent. The main dish we ordered was shark soup which is one of the most famous Alentejo dishes. This was phenomenal and never forgettable taste. Fried pork with potato and clam was also great. Amazingly seasoned and super tender. The service was very nice and she was very patient to answer all the questions we had. Thank you very much! We will definitely come back.

Thanks to local friends’ invitation and thus, l had the opportunity to have a glance of the traditional Alentenjo cuisine. And 10 different starters were excellent even the pig stomach for me. As a cod fish lover, l am amazed by the taste of Bacalhau bathed in bouillon within an egg floating dressed. On the top of it, the service of kind waitress who explained in fluency of EN/PG pampered us whole evening, even the boss assisted the professional serving by the table of 10 guests by the passion.

Repeated visit since our last holiday trip to Lisbon 6 yrs ago. Food is still great and service impeccable! Staff v kindly squeezed us in a cosy corner despite a full-house night so we won't go home disappointed. Took time to explain the menu in English to us and checked in on us regularly. Will def be back again when we visit Lisbon on our next holiday and I'm definitely making a reservation weeks in advance to secure a place!

A sophisticated place, with exquisite food. The mushrooms, ham and bread are out of this world. The main courses have generous servings and are perfectly cooked, meaning a delicious meal, no matter what you choose. The fresh, typical desserts are then the ideal way to wrap it all up. The staff is very kind, very friendly, and their knowledge will also guarantee the best wine choice, if you so desire, to make it a memorable experience. The price tag is relatively high, but fair and worth it.

We had a great meal here, the hosts are fantastic and even though there is not an English menu they will take the time to explain everything and help you choose. There are fantastic specials with local produce so be sure to listen to their recommendations and give things a try. We had; Clams with garlic and butter (with toasted bread) matched with local “Green” wine. BBQ Prawns with Garlic rice. Rabbit stew. The clams were the winner! Amazing. TLDR; Excellent casual restaurant, great local dishes and good wine list. Warm atmosphere, very polite and hospitable hosts!!! Would definitely recommend it!!

I've been going here for over 10 years. Their food and service is still top notch. Great wine selection too. I will continue dining here any time I visit Lisbon. Can't recommend enough. Word of advice - make sure to book a table as this place is often full.

As native Portuguese we found this restaurant to be overpriced for what you get. They charged us for water (6€) that was clearly from the tap. If you want to charge for water make sure it’s bottled water that we can see was unopened. Moreover the dish was a pork dish that was 24€ - for that price you would expect excellence and the pork was very average. The staff was amazing and the vibe was good, but overall not good value for money. We were hungry by the end.

Great, great restaurant. It's our first night in Lisbon and we wanted something traditional, portugese and clouse to our apartment. Great food, very tasty all that we have tasted. Service more than good, very friendly and helpful waiter. If this is how we're going to eat here every day I'll probably gain a couple of pounds 😁 recommendation, superbe ❤️🇵🇹

Very good fish — pregado. Great octopus salad, stuffed mushrooms and desserts. Service was very good, and professional. Not to mention that the Rose wine we had was great, too!

Really enjoyed dinner here at O Magano as we were staying the Campo D'Ourique neighborhood. It largely serves local fare and it's very tasty. Atmosphere is just a standard no-frills restaurant and can host larger group of 10-12 but the place overall is small. Service was excellent and they were fluent in English. Food was great, we really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms, coriander rice with fish and some black pig with home made potato chips. Recommend for a dinner/lunch.

Super traditional restaurant, hidden gem and with perfectly cooked local food. We had an improvised tasting of many dishes suggested by the server, it was by far my best meal in Portugal after visiting the country so many times. Looking forward to coming back asap!!!!!

Beware with the waitress she will do anything to increase your bill. Bring entry plates with out ordering (which are not complementary), give you poor advise about portion sizes you are about to order or keep refilling your glass of water with new bottles even when you had already finished your lunch. It cost us about 60€ -80€ incremental expenses and plenty of food going to the trash. Over all my feeling was that they only cared about ticket size.
