We booked a table for the 'Noites de Fado' and had a phenomenal experience. The music and singing was incredible. The beer and cheese went down well, while the Caiprinha was lovely. Service in this delightful bar is excellent but it's for the Fado that all seats are filled. 7 singers, 3 musicians, duets, some acting as chorus, it was Incredible and a wonderful introduction to this uniquely Portuguese genre of music. The Fado Guitarist was unbelievable, his effort and commitment to the music and attentiveness to the singer, paying off to our benefit. Wonderful.

If Google gave me one chance in a lifetime to rate a place with 10 stars, this would be it! Hands down have I never felt so at home in a venue. You are taken care of with warmth and candor just like you are with your family. In Duque da Rua you become teleported to the late 1800s with the epic fado music and the rustic authentic interior. You leave this craze of constant notifications, emails and social media behind... In this place there are no obligations, no to-do lists... you just surrender yourself to the moment and enjoy the amazing tunes while sipping on your wine or your favorite drink. At the time I was there (November 2023) you definitely need to make reservations to find a spot. Do yourself a favor and come here, and simply enjoy the moment, you will thank me later 😊

Friendly chef and lovely lovely music. Fado music is new to us but I loved the emotions and amazing guitar accompaniment. Food was top notch too !

I made a reservation a month ago and it was my first Fado. The wonderful performances of singers and guitarists were so impressive, and Helder, the manager, was so kind. Everything here made me have a good evening !! I hope to be here again someday :)

We were so pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the ambiance, the intimate setting and the amazing singers and musicians, that I just can't help but rate this place with 5 stars. Lisboa is an amazing city, and this "fado cafe" is just one of the many reasons. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for that down to earth, hole in the wall, authentic experience that makes you laugh and maybe cry at the price of a regular bar, look no further. This is where the locals go and where tourists are welcome. I had an amazing experience here and just felt right at home. If I lived in Lisbon I would come every night and am glad to have found it on my weekend trip. Classy and fun. I hope it never changes!

Best live performance I've ever seen and heard in the bar. Listened fado for the first time, enjoyed it together with tasty snacks and great wine. This experience is something one should have at least once in a lifetime.

We loved this bar. It was a major highlight from our trip to Lisbon. Everyone was super-friendly and very helpful. We stayed 4 nights in Lisbon and visited here twice. We were welcomed back like we were old friends. People in Lisbon are friendly and warm but the wonderful people at this bar took it to the next level. On top of this the Fado was excellent and felt very authentic. Arrive at 730pm. Music starts at 8pm. We left around midnight (although there’s no obligation to stay so late). The wine was good and reasonably priced. The food was fairly basic (ham, cheese, etc) but perfectly nice. But it’s a bar - not a restaurant like most Fado venues in Lisbon. Put this high on your list of places to visit.

We came here on a birthday celebration looking for a fado show. We found this small place, seating about 30 people, that feels so intimate. We arrived a little bit early and it got good from there, the people is so amazingly nice and welcoming. We ordered a few things to share: olives, cheeses and cured meats, wine, everything was good. Then the singing began and the musicians were all great, amazing voices and very expressive performances. On top of all that they had a very special detail that turned a special night into an unforgettable one.

Great authentic place-fado was great and there was a large group of local singers, all very impressive! We went with our child till 22h, it was even child friendly. I would just note the food as 4/5, as the food was nice but not very special.

And indeed wine and food is so good! 😋🤤 Service was warm and meticulous... boss Helder even came to say hi as I had a reservation❤️ The fado 🎸🎶performance was awesome! I was wriggling all over eager to dance 💃🏻😆 Do bring more cash as they don't accept cards👍🏻

Duque da Rua was our favourite part of our recent trip to Lisbon. The singers and guitarists were incredibly talented and we received wonderful hospitality and service from the owners. The food and wine was also very good and reasonably priced, the sardines were especially delicious. I'd recommend making a booking at least a week in advance if you want to reserve a slot as it's quite a small venue. Highly recommended!

Great singing and the people very nice. We came without reservation but were very lucky for them to have had a spot. The tapas are great and the drinks are also very recommended. With no doubt of recommending this place to anyone. One of the best places to come while visiting Lisbon.

My wife and I had an amazing and intimate Fado experience here! We snacked on tapas as we listened to 4 different singers. The prices were great as well. The waiter was extremely kind, and so was the person I messaged to reserve a table. The place is small so I recommend getting a 7:30 reservation as the singing begins around 8:00. They also only take cash.

First time experiencing Fado and couldn’t have been nicer. We passed by this place at the opening time but it was already all booked. However the owner gave us the number and told us to write later in the night, in case somebody left a spot, and I must say we were lucky. The place is tiny and intimate, the low lights help create the best atmosphere to enjoy the music. Singers alternate during the performance and it looks like they are all old friends, singing together. We already had dinner so we only ordered drinks, but there are nice tapas offered from the menu that could make up for dinner. Would totally recommend booking a spot if you find yourself in Lisbon!

I have been to many places for fado, this place was the best. Very friendly owner and people, they have some tapas, beer and wine. To visit this place you MUST have reservation. They only have around 30ish seats, and they do keep some seat for fado actor. The totally performance till 11 pm, not require stay till the end, but worth to stay.

Very cozy place to hear Fado. We had small bites and wine! It was a intimate show. Loved it! Must see you have to wait in line to get in as people leave. So get there early.

We very much enjoyed our experience in Duque da Rua. It was our first time experiencing Fado style singing. Wow such passionate performances in a nice, intimate venue. Food and wine were reasonably priced. As others have mentioned the staff and owner are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Wonderful evening for couples and families. No cover charge and such lovely atmosphere. There are app’s but no dinner food. So eat before you go. Suggest arriving by 8:30 so you get a seat!

I wanted to listen to fado while in Lisbon and this was a great choice. We were lucky to get a reservation on the day. The place was full and there were people at the door without a reservation trying their luck. We enjoyed the tapas and the wine that was recommended to us while waiting for the show. All the singers sang beautifully and the service was very friendly. This is my favorite among everything we did in Lisbon. Thank you for a memorable night!

It was perfect experience. Everyone was very warm and hospitable. All the singers were amazing. We made reservation same day via whatsapp and our table was the last one so, making reservation could be better. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

Cute little place for a drink and a small bite, while listening to fado. With multiple singers, friends, different voices, improvising, making mistakes and laughing about it with everyone else, singing separately or together in a relaxed, friendly, and fun atmosphere. The first time, we had a reservation for 5 and they held it, even though we were late. The second time, we were only two and had no reservation, but they still managed to accommodate us after the last break. The personnel is very friendly.

It was my first time to visit Fado music bar. So amazing and impressive it was. The senhor set my seat infront of the musician, and I could hear and watch their singing and playing guitar. Song fado isn't always slow. There are variant rythm in that. I can recommend that place. Até logo!

This place is so amazing. My husband and I got a chance to visit this bar on our last night in Lisbon and we’re so glad we did. The live fado music was great. The food was good (pairing a porto wine with some anchovies & sardines was an excellent combo). Because we made reservations via social media, the owner remembered me & he was so kind & gave the warmest hospitality. I rarely make google reviews but am compelled to review this place to support his business & encourage to visit this place if you get the chance. Note: the place is small, which helps create an extremely intimate setting, so highly recommend making a reservation.

Has the most magical evening yesterday. Rang them very last minute as my friend was celebrating her big birthday and they made all the effort to accommodate us. Place is very intimate, singers performing are extremely talented. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Even got cake and the whole place sang happy birthday to my friend. We absolutely loved our Fado experience. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend 👌
