The front desk was nice but the room felt quite lacking. Harsh lighting, no natural light, micro balcony that faced a brick wall and a lot of industrial heating equipment in the corner. We felt it was overpriced for what we got after staying in other popular tourist areas for the same price and receiving much better accommodations.

This hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of the Baixa District (Rua Agusta) so we were able to explore nearby attractions. There were also a lot of excellent restaurants nearby (the ones in the back alleys, not the ones on the main street!). The hotel staff, both day and night, were all very nice, lovely and welcoming. The welcome wine and tarts provided at check-in and whenever we would enter the hotel were lovely added touch that we appreciated so much. They also provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine as they discovered that my partner and I were celebrating our 10-year anniversary. The rooms and the elevators are smaller, but we did not mind that at all as the ambience made up for it! We fell in love with Lisboa and this hotel so we will definitely be back!

Stayed here during my weekend city break in Lisbon. Absolutely fantastic stay. From the moment I stepped through the door, till the time I had to check out - everything was perfect. I was greeted with an offer to have some port wine and local pastries - accepted both with great pleasure. Staff are very accomodating and courteous. Interior is modern. Location is very central, which was perfect for my city exploration. Overall I highly recommend this place. Thank you to them for their hospitality!

Very clean rooms, very friendly people working there! Perfectly located in Lisboa. The rooms could be little bigger or providing more space for clothing...that's why I give 4 stars.

THE place to stay in downtown Lisboa! Everything works perfectly, it’s nice and clean, and you are right in the middle of everything. Still perfectly quiet in the rooms - I guess they have well insulated windows. If the price is in your range, there is nothing better. The breakfast buffet is also a good deal, and the AC is nice on hot days.

I was unable to go to Portugal and stay at the Be Poet Baxia Hotel in March do to the Covid19 outbreak. The country was in lock down and travel restrictions from the USA (President Trump had stopped all travel to Europe at that time) were put in place. I purchased my travel package through Expedia. American Airlines canceled all flights to Europe including my trip to Portugal. The airline refunded the money even though it was a nonrefundable ticket. The Be Poet Baxia Hotel on the other hand refused to refund the balance for the hotel stay. The reason? It was a nonrefundable. Even though their country was in lock down and travel restrictions were in place from the United States. Did we want to go? Yes. Were we able to go? No. It seems amazing that a hotel would resort to following the policy of not refunding a stay due to covid19. They offered me a one year voucher in place of the refund. I do not know if I will be able to go to Portugal in the next year. Flights to Europe and restrictions are still in place. Jobs and lives have been effected by covid19. In short the Be Poet Baxia Hotel should be ashamed of themselves. They are obviously more concerned with money than with peoples lives. If and when I go to Portugal in future, I would not stay at this hotel. I hope this is not a reflection of all the Portuguese people and how they conduct business in their country. I would highly recommend that you stay away from this hotel and their shady business practice They are not they type pf people you should spend your money with. Look elsewhere for a more reputable hotel.

Loved this little hotel. All the front house staff were super friendly, from reception to restaurant. Buffet breakfast was quite nice. Didn't engage with back of house staff but my room looked nice and clean after their visit. As for the location, I absolutely loved it! So close to so many interesting things and so lively! The street food around was not nice though. If you like to explore and live busy buzzy environments, you'll love this area. It gets quite noisy at night so if you're a light sleeper you might want to give this a miss. I visited in late February, the weather was great for exploring, sunny but still a bit cold. You also get a Portuguese custard yard and a glass of port on arrival and anytime you want, really. Such a nice touch. Thanks for the great experience, guys!

Wow. Great welcome with port wine & Portuguese tart. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Even the waiters/waitresses too. Cute boutique hotel. Our room is just as expected, clean and just big enough. This hotel is right in the smack of action on Rua Augusta and an ideal location to attractions and activity meeting points. Highly recommended.

Located directly on the Rua Augusta is this small but modern hotel, which has more than exceeded our expectations. First of all, I would like to emphasize the location, as most of the important sights are quite close. Furthermore, it should be mentioned that you are spoiled daily with good red wine and Pasteis de Nata. You can have it as often as you want. The rooms are very stylishly furnished and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, was rich in selection and it was very tasty every day. Last but not least I would especially like to mention the very friendly staff who were very accommodating and made my birthday unforgettable. Muito obrigado and keep up the good work ! 😊👍 PS: Not a negative point but keep in mind that it can get loud outside if you have a room to the side of the Rua Augusta. Keep it in consideration when you book because the Rua Augusta is a very lively street.

I had a delightful stay at Be Poet Baixa Hotel in Lisbon. The staff was not only nice but also incredibly helpful, making my experience memorable. The hotel's central location in the heart of Lisbon allowed for easy exploration. Though the rooms were small, they were thoughtfully designed for convenience. A special mention goes to the staff for remembering my birthday and surprising me with a touching gesture—a delicious cake waiting in the room. Overall, a charming and personalized experience.

The hotels location is perfect to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area. We liked our quiet room and very comfortable bed. The breakfast on offer was continental and plentiful with excellent Portuguese pastries. The staff are very helpful and gave us a warm reception on arrival with a glass of port and a custard tart - on offer for all guests.

Excellent accommodation! Conveniently located in Lisbon Center in the main pedestrian street, bustling all day while being tranquil at night, allowing you a good night sleep. Our room was renovated, adequately equipped, and spotlessly clean. The stuff was attentive to our needs, including finding a pharmacy on Christmas day! Be poet Baixa Hotel is a gem! I highly recommend it! Notably, they provide great promotions in their website, so I suggest that you book straight with them avoiding any other booking commissions.

The lovely staff were the highlight of the stay. Room was cute and functional and the bed was comfortable. A few little issues (AC acting up and the bathroom sink could use an update) but really not a big deal for a 3 star hotel. Location was great with easy access to metro and other areas of Lisbon. I found the outside noise ok, stopped at a reasonable hour each night but I did not stay over the weekend.

We loved this cute little hotel! The people were so kind! We told them we were there for our honeymoon and they made us feel very special. It was adorable and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Lisbon!

We stayed for 2 nights here in December. It's a lovely hotel in an excellent location in Lisbon for seeing the main sights. The rooms were clean, modern & comfortable. Very helpful staff and a good breakfast buffet included. Overall a great hotel, if we return to Lisbon we'll definitely be back,

The staff was super friendly. Our nice room was to the back where the ventilators of the cooker hoods where quit loud. Since the air condition was adjusted to heating fresh air was only to get by an open window with the prescribed noise. The towel change followed the standard sustainable procedures. (Towel on the floor=exchange) We stayed 3 nights. Unfortunately they changed our bed covers after 2 nights, which we could not understand.

The staff is so nice and personable. They offer their welcome by their smiles and their manners. On my birthday, the hotel left a wonderful birthday cake in the room for me. What a genuine beautiful surprise! The location of the hotel is ideal with metro nearby, shops and restaurants all around. The room we had was small but adequate and clean and comfortable. It’s in the pedestrian strip and music can go in till 11pm. The cleaning crew can make even more noise. We kept our window closed and we were good. I would come back again.

This hotel is a gem. Excellent staff, location, and accommodations. Location is perfect for exploring Lisbon. Breakfast was excellent as well. At check-in, Luis noticed it was my birthday. When we went to our room a cake was waiting for us. Very thoughtful and kind. We can't say enough good things about this place.

This hotel is an absolute gem and is ideally located for exploring all that Lisbon has to offer. Superb location, excellent staff who were friendly and attentive, fabulous breakfast, great room with a spacious shower - it cannot get a better review. We loved it and would not hesitate to return to this hotel. The little extras were wonderful and very much appreciated- thank you for making our stay a truly memorable experience.

Outstanding! One of the best hotels I've had the pleasure to stay in. The location is in the nuclear of the tourist 'ghetto' , everything within walking distance. The attic room with balcony overlooking Rua Augusta is a very good size (people who say it's small clearly haven't been to Paris ,London etc), comfortable, very clean and wonderfully quite and fabulous for people watching. We were "treated" daily with Vivaldi concerts and spontaneous street parties.( Both got tedious after 2 days, same music, every single time) The breakfast is very varied and plentiful. The whole hotel is very clean and every single staff member is very helpful, friendly and do they utmost to make you feel comfortable. (Thank you for the surprises!!) Incredibly well run, worth every penny! We are very grateful for making our stay in Lisbon unforgettable!

The hotel is located in the heart of Lisbon, on the busy R. Agusta street. It has retained the old world charm. All tourist places are within walking distance. The staff at the reception were nice and helpful. Breakfast was good too. The only problem is that the hotel room was very small, difficult to move freely inside, no place to keep personal items. Though bathroom was small it was manageable. There was only a coffee maker, but no kettle to heat water or make a cup of tea. But overall we enjoyed our stay here.

During our recent trip to Lisbon, we had the pleasure of staying at the Be Poet Baixa hotel. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel welcome. We booked a standard room, which was comparable to other European hotel rooms we've stayed in. The bathroom was also noteworthy, boasting a comfortable size and modern amenities. The glass shower doors and custom tile gave the room an updated feel. One of the highlights of this hotel is its exceptional location on the pedestrian walkway of Rua Augusta. Not only were we just steps away from popular attractions, shops, and restaurants, but the proximity to public transportation options such as buses, metros, and trams made exploring the city a breeze. Additionally, the train station, offering convenient access to nearby destinations like Sintra, was just a short distance away. The staff at Be Poet Baixa truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. They were always ready to provide directions and offer valuable suggestions on the places to see, how to use public transportation and places to eat. But what truly amazed us was their incredible support during an unexpected emergency. When we needed to make last-minute reservation changes and arrange transportation to the airport, they handled everything with utmost care and professionalism. Without hesitation, I highly recommend the Be Poet Baixa hotel to anyone planning a visit to Lisbon. The combination of its comfortable rooms, exceptional location, and the helpfulness of Soraia and her staff truly made our stay unforgettable. Thank you, Be Poet Baixa, for making our Lisbon experience so special.

This doesn't need to be a long review text. Everything is perfect with this small hotel; the personnel, the location, the welcoming, the clean and quiet room. We cannot recommend it highly enough. One of the best places to stay in Lisbon.

An absolute GEM in the middle of Baxia! Getting out and walking the area one is sure to find an abundance of dining and shopping options. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and spoils their guests with glasses of Port and Pastels de Nata!!! Breakfast is included and the selection has something for everyone. The beds are heaven! We didn't want to leave! Yves, Rui and the entire front desk staff do an AMAZING job! We won't stay anywhere else when visiting Lisbon.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Baixa so everything is on your doorstep or walkable. Rooms are very small but I'd expect that from a city centre hotel - you are barely in the room. Staff were lovely and thanks for the birthday cake!

Small but perfectly formed hotel. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Such an excellent location. Lovely personal touches in the room. Room was spotless and bed was comfortable. Stayed on the 1st floor, enjoyed the bustle from outside and our little balcony. Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. Really enjoyed the port and the Pasteis de Nata in reception!

I had a wonderful experience at Be Poet Baixa Hotel. It is at the perfect location. It is on a lively street, close to restaurants, the metro, shops and attractions. The room was clean. What makes this hotel special is the staff. I cannot say enough good things about them. They paid special attention to detail, kind, friendly, and respectful. I had the pleasure of meeting Soraia, Eric, Lana, Ives, Rui and Telmo. Thank you for remembering my birthday. The cake was delicious. I had to check out early and would miss breakfast. They had a breakfast to go box ready for me. Looking forward to staying there again. Highly recommend.

The staff are so welcoming and the room is clean and a great standard with a modern feel. The hotel is on a busy road full of night life and shops but you can't hear it at night. The position is near main attractions, the metro and train station.

On the famous Augusta road straight to praca do comercia in 2mins. Very busy lively location. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Very compact hotel passages and common areas. Room size little smaller than expected but its an standard old lisbon style with small balcony with a great top view. Only thing is in winter they have central air conditioner which only have heating in winter and not an actual air conditioner to keep the temp you want , so we have to keep our windows a little open, but then the noise from street could be an issue. Hotel restaurant- al dante is also good. Breakfast is average good with freindly staff.

This hotel deserves a 5 star rating just because of their team at the reception. They gave us a great welcome and they gave their best to make our stay comfortable.

The hotel's location, staff, cute spotless guest rooms (small, but they have everything you need) are amazing! Their front desk staff helped us with directions, restaurants, transportation and more! I would definitely stay there again. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

The staff were excellent - warm, inviting and helpful. Continental breakfast had a great variety and was fresh. A/C controls were a bit tricky initially and the front door is unassuming - we walked by it twice. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of the city on Rue Augusta. Service was great, all staff were helpful and spoke great English. Rooms are on the smaller side but as advertised. Impressive balcony views of the strip. Walking distance to many parts of the city including landmarks, tourist destinations, and restaurants. Nighttime activity (buskers, loud restaurant patrons, etc.) can continue late into the night which was the only drawback.

  • 4/5 Patrick L. 1 year ago on Google
Location is fantastic, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was fine.

  • 5/5 Vanessa T. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing amazing hotel in the center of Lisbon, close to everything and at a walking distance (if you don't mind the hills, otherwise uber or bolt is literally 3-5 € per ride) What we love about this cute cozy hotel is that the room is very neat, big and well equipped. Additionally, what made our stay extra memorable was the amazing staff who left a cute birthday cake on the night stand after the room service (it was my birthday on the night we checked in, and they found out by checking my ID i guess). Thank you so much team, we're super happy & we can't wait to go back and recommend all of our friends & family to stay here. Shout out to the whole crew <3

A wonderful place to stay. My wife and I spent almost 3 weeks in the Be Poet Baixa and had a great experience. First, the staff are were so friendly and supportive. Warm smiles and greetings each time we passed through the lobby. Because of our long stay, we sometimes treated to free coffee, champagne, and food treats. The hotel's restaurant had good food with professional service. The hotel's location in downtown Lisbon is close to everything. The ocean is about a 5-minute walk away. Metro stations were very close by. Even the CP railway station was within easy walking distance. Lots of museums and tourist attractions enjoy and take pictures of. A great place to stay for our first visit to Portugal. The rooms were very comfortable and cleaned regularly. Don't expect large, spacious rooms in downtown Lisbon, though. The rooms we saw were either 17 sq. meters or 13 sq. meters. Comfortable, but not meant for lounging around in. So, my wife and I give high ratings mainly because of the wonderful staff and the location. We would certainly do it all again.
