The Chafariz da Junqueira located in a recess on Rua da Junqueira opposite Cordoaria Nacional is also known as Chafariz da Cordoaria. The main body of the fountain in limestone features two superimposed frames in the center, framed by two pilasters, with the inscription "Agoas Livres / year 1831" on the upper frame. To top off this set there is an elaborate pediment, delimited by an interesting game of heavy athletes and volutes that bear the coat of arms of Portugal at the central top and the National shield on a crowned armillary sphere.
