Probably one of the best Indian food I have had in Portugal. The taste is really good, the portions are decently large and the staff is very friendly indeed. The prices are quite reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to everyone looking to satisfy their craving for yummy Indian delicacies.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon with no reservation and only one other person in the place. Ordered a spicy chicken dish, a vegetarian platter style dish, Naan, and a fried potato appetizer. All food and flavors were delicious. Service was prompt and helpful. Would recommend for a nice Indian meal in Lisbon.

Swaagat is the place to satisfy your craving for some mouth watering Indian food. The food is fantastic, everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful. The staff is one of the friendliest you would find in any restaurant, they make you treat special. Their chutney’s are amazing, nothing like I have had in any Indian restaurant. Must try in Lisbon - enjoy your meal.

First things first: by far the best Indian restaurant in Lisbon! We were passing the restaurant on our day of arrival and entered it only because of the nice and friendly conversation with Thamil (stuff member). He provided us with very good recommendations of dishes, which we luckily tried out as it was just delicious. It was so good that we cancelled our reservation at another restaurant for the next day and came for a second round. Beside of the food all stuff members are very polite and friendly.

Great and delicious food with exquisite selection of flavors and spices. Amazing service and well trained staff. As an Indian, I know what tastes original and this is a great place to experience the flavors of India. The atmosphere is also amazing. The outdoor dining in the beautiful streets of Lisbon provide a great place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. The outdoor dining is on a pedestrian only street without the overcrowding from larger avenues. I recommend this place so much.

Really tasty Indian food, hot, fresh - just good! Staff was really friendly at all times, made good recommendations and you could tell that they were interested in accommodating us well! If you’re really hungry for a veggie dish you are going to spend around 15€ (rice and bread is not included, as in most Indian places). There are places in Lisbon where you can get the same quality for almost half the money but hey - it’s the most touristy area you could be so absolutely okay, that’s what one would expect! Definitely recommended when you are around, hungry and craving Indian!

I have been eating Indian food all over the world.Even in India (too spicy for French stomac) This restaurant is one of the best I have been.Fresh, tasty, even the Kulfi (sort of ice cream usually dry) wonderful. Very good team especially the leader. Quiet pedestrian area. We recommand the chicken and lamb korma. The rice with mushrooms was also very tasty. We highly recommend..

Perfect Indian food. We had authentic south Indian Dosa, Veg Thalia and lamb Rogan Josh .. all of them so delish. There is also a hotel staff member from south India who brings authentic south Indian cuisine to the menu. He is also a cool guy very courteous and manages the kitchen. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Best Indian restaurant I have been to in Europe! Amazing food, great friendly staff and customisable choices! In our 3 day trip, we went to this place twice! That already says something. Highly recommend, an Indian restaurant in the beautiful streets of Lisbon! Special mention to Ravi for the special service! Thank you guys.

This place offers a vibrant atmosphere with both outdoor and indoor seating. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe. The food is both delicious and budget-friendly. Don't miss the mind-blowing chutney with onion bhaji and the onion and mint naan with chicken chili. Also, their veg Thali is a great option with a variety of dishes. I'll definitely return, and the free water was a nice touch!

Very good Indian food. I would say it’s a typical Indian food place through nothing extraordinary. I have 5 stars because it meets every criteria, but I’d give 4.5 if I could because wasn’t blown away. I’d say Naans are a bit to thin in my opinion.

They are absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent, they asked us and made sure that everything is perfect. The portion was also big enough. More importantly, they didn’t try to scam us. Well done you! Keep up the good work!

The food was good however I found my meal too spicy and on the menu it had one red chilly so it shouldn’t be too bad , I usually take medium in Indian places but here they didn’t ask you if you want mild medium or hot So it was hard to enjoy when it’s too spicy To be safe take the non spicy options or only take it if your very good with heat. The portion was good for me and the food came quite fast in about 10 minutes.

Friendly and humble service. Much more gentle than some places on the same strip! As good as any Indian food that you can get in the UK. Popadoms and naans are different to the UK but that’s true of curries I have had across Europe. My tikka masala was superb - I’ll be back for more soon. If you have special requests they’ll do their best to accommodate you. Cobra beer too! It’s a little on the expensive side, but given the location - I get it - however the quality of the food offsets that a little. I thought the portion looked small (I do like a healthy sized portion) - but it filled me up, so I can’t complain about that :-). Lastly a special bit of appreciation for the fact that I left my bag and went to collect it the next day - they kept it and were even concerned that nothing had been taken from it. Everything was there including the items of value. Thank you.

An excellent meal for a very good price, especially considering the location in a heavy tourist area. It is a wonderful, inviting restaurant with lots of vegetarian options, as well as traditional fare and different levels of spice for every palate. The service is friendly and prompt and I didn't have to wait long. Frankly, it smells so good, I don't think it's possible to walk by without stopping and eating! If you love traditional Indian food and want it while in Lisbon, I highly recommend Swaagat The Taste of India.

Perhaps the best Indian restaurant in Lisbon. Chicken Biryani is full of flavour (ask for the spice sauce on the side and be ready for true epiphany). Service is great, the location is nice, asides the busy main street. Perfect place for a date or a family dinner.

Deeelish!!! The food was very delicious, spicy but not overly spicy. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Definitely a must!! UPDATE Went back for more delicious food. This time we skipped the appetizers so we have room for dessert. Got the prawn korma and it delivered! We cleaned those plates!! Great flavor!! We also got the dessert which had a creamy texture, the syrup was aromatic and not overly sweet

Great Indian Food! The staff were so helpful and made great recommendations. We had the chicken tandoori and chicken bengan with ginger. The sauces were to die for. Amazing with the homemade naan bread. Would definitely go back there. We loved that they actually played some Indian music. Helped a lot with the atmosphere. Best mango lassi I ever had.

Omg this place is sooo good! The staff is so amazing, and attentive, and funny. Chanderdeep is a character and very welcoming. Jot was our server and she too was so kind, they have their version of “salsa and chips”. The mango lassi is incredible, and their tandoori chicken and butter chicken and chicken samosas were all so tasty! Especially their chutnees. So worth it.

If you are looking for the best Indian food and above and beyond customer services this place won't let you down. This is our top spot, when having dinner in Lisbon, the menu is impressive, and every thing that we'e tried has been delicious. What blows my mind is that we've been there like 6 times and since the second time, the waiter remember what we ordered las time and we had and amazing experience, also if we want to try something new, their suggestions are super good. Always ask for the cheese naan!

2 of us attended the restaurant twice on our stay in Lisbon. Food was exquisite, we got vegetarian and prawn starters and a chicken and prawn dish for main. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly too especially Thamil who served us on both occasions and even remembered our wine order when we returned. All in All I would definitely recommend!

We were just walking down the walkway and we ran into this restaurant. It smelled excellent. We stopped sat down they were very courteous very polite and had good covid procedures. When we sat down it was like 1:45 p.m. and what we noticed was that we were the only one sitting down at that point in time. Lunch time in Lisbon is about 2:00 pm so all of a sudden they were like 25, 30, other people there enjoying sitting outside enjoying this fabulous food. We really did enjoy their food and if you like to have somewhat normal Indian food it is exactly what you're looking for.

The food here was excellent!! My boyfriend and I went on a whim and couldn't believe how delicious the veg and non veg thalis were. Best customer service we had in Lisbon, they went above and beyond and we had such a lovely evening there on our last night. Easily 5 stars.

We randomly stumbled upon this gem. This spot is probably the best Indian food I've ever tasted. We ordered chicken masala, lamb Britain, and their Indian bread (Naan) with garlic. We also ordered the mango lassi. Every single dish was delicious. The lamb was well-seasoned, tender and juicy, with no gamey taste to it. The chicken masala was very flavorful as well and had a touch of sweetness to it. Lastly, all the sauces were a great combination and they had this interesting and very good hot sauce. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would I come back? Yes, if I am craving Indian food and something different from all the seafood available here in Lisbon.

Quite close to Rua Augusta, initially looked quiet but was packed midway through our meal. We ordered 2x vegetable samosas which were nice homemade pastry and filling, plus butter chicken & chicken aubergine which were both very nice. A little more sauce than meat in both u fortunately. Naan was good plus mango lassi delicious. Service was excellent! Fully satisfied, would recommend. A little pricier than normal.

Awesome authentic Indian food with amazing service. Helpful staff. We ordered the following items over two continuous days: - Veg thali (quantity was good for one person and quality was good), - Veg samosas (good), - tikki (it was ok), - mint onion naan (thin sliced onion and mint, crispy and tasty) - butter and plain naan (perfectly thin and owen baked) - dal makhani (awesome authentic taste) For desert, you must try mango kulfi, kheer, and gajar ka halwa. Overall 5 star rating for food, price authenticity, and especially the staff behavior.

Came here for my birthday. The main restaurant was closed but we were seated in the restaurant opposite. We arrived early about 6ish and was very quiet however it soon filled up. Poppadoms were excellent along with the sauces. I found it strange you have to pay extra for onion salad and then all it was was sliced onion. Ordered onion bhajis and they came out one minute later! They were flat and did not look like onion bhajis but tasted OK. My partner did not like them. When I asked for the menu back at end of the meal I noticed they looked exactly like vegetable pakora in the picture menu and nothing like the onion bhaji so think a mistake was made but not an issue. My partner ordered a veg thali and she said it was delicious. I had the mixed grill. Honestly it was the best tandoori mixed grill I have had! Great flavour on all the meat. They did me a spicy sauce for my nan which was also excellent. Didn't say anything about the bhaji as the mains were excellent. The waiter brought me a hot sauce to eat with the mix grill. It blew my partners head off. Lol. Be careful if you're not used to hot sauces. Will definitely be back.

After you see 4.8 rating with almost 1000 reviews it looks unbelievable BUT this place was indeed excellent. It's not usual that you order 7 different dishes and still get exceptional flavour with everything. The thali is a no brainer if you can't decide. Chai was superb. I recommend this to anyone looking for authentic indian food.

10000/10 highly recommend. Wow wow wow. We were in a larger group - about 10. We ordered just about everything we could, rolling samosas, bottles of wine, naan for days, and any dish we could. The waitress we had was incredible and gave us great recommendations and even told us to stray away from things she didn't think were up to par. My husband and I shared the butter chicken and a spicy chicken dish (can't remember the name) but it was FIRE. Cannot recommend this place enough; such a find.

I really loved this restaurant. The food is amazing and super delicious. Everything I tried didn't have any fault. The portions are good, they even offer free papadum. Lassi was great, maybe the coconut one was even better than the mango one which is rare. But what really surprised me was the exceptional service. Always asking if everything is okay, even offering to turn down the TV if it's too loud for me. I really have to recommend this place!

A delicious taste of India in Lisbon! I stopped by Swaagat for dinner because I saw that the restaurant had many favorable reviews, and I was not disappointed! This is some of the best Indian food I have had! The flavor is always on point! Even if you don't like Indian food their chicken is amazing, moist never dry and flavor is perfect amount. If your fan of spicy ask for a side of their home made spicy sauce (made with green chillies) it is the best. Otherwise their food isn't spicy. But it is delicious! We've eaten here 3 times.

Judging by the ecstatic reviews, we conclude that the usual cook is not working there anymore because we took a selection of dishes and all was tasteless and boring. We love Indian food and this was the worst dinner we had in Lisbon since October. On top of that it is also the most expensive Indian we have tried. So disappointing...

Exceptional service met with delicious food. Our group was pleasantly surprised with the authentic Indian food found at Swaagat. My recommended dishes to try would be the Goa shrimp curry and chicken tikka. Thanks for having us! We’ll be back again the next time we make the trip to Portugal. Love from Canada 💕
