I
broke
a
tooth
two
days
before
a
work
trip
and
went
to
Dentismed
to
schedule
an
emergency
appointment.
Over
the
phone,
they
explained
that
I
would
not
need
to
pay
for
the
consultation
if
I
underwent
the
treatment.
Arriving
at
the
clinic
I
was
seen
by
a
dentist
who
from
the
beginning
was
extremely
indiscreet.
He
made
unpleasant
comments
in
a
joking
tone
like:
“Ihhhh
this
is
really
bad”.
I
looked
at
my
teeth
and
said
“Ihhhh”
(among
other
tasteless
comments).
I
asked
him
to
stop,
because
the
situation
was
making
me
even
more
distressed.
A
healthcare
professional
should
convey
positivity
and
security
-
saying:
“don’t
worry,
everything
will
be
fine”
or
“let’s
look
for
the
best
alternative
to
help
you”.
I
was
already
very
sad
about
the
situation,
it
only
increased
my
discomfort
and
concern.
The
comments
were
disrespectful
and
in
very
bad
taste.
They
create
embarrassment
in
the
patient
who
is
already
sensitized.
And
even
though
I
asked
him
to
stop,
he
continued
with
the
same
attitude.
Finally
he
says
that
he
would
need
to
create
a
channel
and
it
wouldn't
be
possible
to
solve
that
in
one
session.
That
I
couldn't
start
treatment
knowing
I
was
going
to
travel.
He
also
said
that
he
couldn't
do
the
treatment
during
the
trip
because
it
wouldn't
be
enough
time.
Worried,
I
asked
several
times
if
there
might
be
another
solution.
However,
according
to
him,
there
was
no
other
solution:
I
would
have
to
have
a
broken
tooth
for
the
next
15
days
(duration
of
the
trip),
with
the
risk
of
infection,
pain,
as
well
as
being
aesthetically
embarrassing.
I
was
visibly
shaken,
I
started
crying
and
he
was
always
mocking
and
insensitive.
I
politely
expressed
my
discomfort
with
that
stance
and
he
left
the
room
without
even
apologizing.
Back
at
reception,
the
receptionists
suggested
making
an
appointment
for
when
you
returned
from
your
trip.
I
said
I
wouldn't
have
treatment
there
because
the
dentist
had
been
extremely
unpleasant.
They
explained
to
me
that
this
was
not
the
dentist
who
would
perform
the
procedure,
as
it
is
not
his
specialty
(In
other
words,
that
assertive
“diagnosis”
did
not
come
from
a
specialist).
I
was
leaving
and
trying
to
convince
myself,
they
suggested
that
I
go
and
meet
the
dentist
who
performs
the
treatment.
Given
the
urgency
of
the
situation,
I
accepted.
I
went
to
the
other
dentist's
office,
explained
the
situation
and
she,
contradicting
her
colleague,
said
it
could
be
resolved
in
one
session.
However,
nothing
was
explained
very
well.
I
didn't
understand
what
type
of
treatment
she
was
undergoing,
whether
it
was
resin
or
crown,
she
didn't
explain
the
necessary
care
to
me,
she
didn't
talk
about
durability,
the
need
for
maintenance,
the
information
was
very
nebulous...
Given
the
urgency
of
the
situation,
I
scheduled
treatment
anyway.
However,
I
was
informed
that
there
was
only
an
appointment
for
the
following
day
and
therefore
I
could
not
deduct
the
amount
paid
for
the
consultation,
as
the
procedure
would
not
be
carried
out
on
the
same
day.
In
other
words,
the
clinic
says
that
it
deducts
the
cost
of
the
consultation,
but
does
not
explain
that
it
has
to
be
on
the
same
day
and
that
it
also
does
not
have
a
time
in
the
calendar
to
meet
on
the
same
day.
It
makes
no
sense.
To
avoid
further
stress,
I
didn't
argue,
but
I
saw
that
I'm
not
the
first
to
complain
about
the
lack
of
transparency
in
the
clinic's
billing
policy.
During
the
treatment
everything
went
well.
I
felt
no
pain
and
the
dentist
was
very
gentle
and
attentive.
However,
the
aesthetic
result
was
not
good.
The
treatment
was
not
cheap
at
all,
in
total
I
paid
370
euros.
In
the
end,
the
dentist
who
gave
a
wrong
diagnosis
was
disrespectful,
rude
and
unprofessional.
The
pros
were
unclear.
They
should
make
fewer
superfluous,
subjective
and
personal
comments
and
focus
on
providing
more
constructive
and
practical
information
that
helps
the
patient
feel
safe
and
well
guided.
When
it
comes
to
health,
it
is
necessary
to
take
into
account
the
human
element
and
worry
about
making
the
patient
feel
calm
and
respected.
No
one
wants
the
professional
to
make
fun
of
the
condition
of
their
teeth.
It's
humiliating.
