the entrance is inside the metro station the museum is small so dont expect a big collection the admission is half price for students there are not much explanation about the instruments so it was not a well educative visit for me.

It is a very small museum. If you have the Lisboa pass you can take a quick look at the museum since it is free. Total visit time should not take more 15 min until and unless you are a musian.

This is a small museum on one storey, but has quite a few very old and unusual instruments with information in Portuguese and English. There is even a Stradivarius here. Very small museum. There is no information about the instruments, only their names. Was excited to see a couple of brass instruments i hadnt seen upclose however. (I want there with a trompettist and i'm a tubaist/euphonist myself.) There are a couple of instruments to try but most of them are in really bad shape. There wasnt even a reed on the clarinet. We tried telling this to the staff but they were only talking to each other and not paying attention to us so we left. We used lisboa cards to get in, otherwise i would regard it as a waste of money. Museum might be more enjoyable if it had more information (or staff giving a tour) and maybe live concerts.
