A great place full of interesting communication related exhibitions both historic and modern. A lot of interactive things too (though some weren't working, but most were.) If this is your sort of thing, you can happily spend two to three hours exploring. A large amount of the content was Portugal-specific or connecting Portugal into the greater, worldwide communication technology picture, which I had no idea about so that made it even more interesting. I was there on a Monday around noon and it was quiet. Also a very good price.

Very nice museum, I suggest buying Lisbon card if you plan to visit many sights of the city, in this way entrances to certain attractions are either free or with great discount. It's nice to visit especially if it's your field of interest. I missed the guided tour so that probably affected my experience. Funny thing is I managed to ran into a tourist from Croatia in the museum by pure chance :) our countries are 2000km apart, that's communication for you!

A great museum dedicated to modern communications mainly from the 20th century. They have a great deal os samples and information onmaritime cables as well as telephone comunications. Everything is bilingual in Portuguese and in English. Morse, typewriters, cameras televisions radios mobile phones and TV studios all covered with lots of different machinery some very beautiful. A section on postal communications with sorting machines and old cars and motobikes utilised for delivery, a section on postal stamps with their originals. This spans for three floors last one with a art gallery. It is a gem for people that like to explore and like industrial heritage. Very friendly people and the entrance fee was an almost simbolic 2 Euros!! In a nutshell a gem!!

Very interesting off-the-beaten-path museum especially if you're a Telecom techie-type....lots of historical equipment from the 19th century to the 1990's. Go there to learn about the miracle behind the overseas phone call and to get away from the usual tourist-crush museum!

Brilliant place, everything for undersea cables, stamps, the history of everything to do with postage. It took well over an hour to go around.

Excellent museum, lots of interesting exhibits and good for children. Currently there is a great exhibition involving vintage telephone with a working exchange, so you can dial the other phones and talk through them.

It’s got fascinating information, but entirely fails to describe Portugal’s national pastime of intercepting correspondence between private individuals

Very nicely done museum. Good presentation, story of communication is told interestingly from the "start" with good exhibits. Almost everything is explained in English as well and to my surprise I was the only visitor for the whole time.

One of the weirdest museum experiences I've had. The museum itself is excellent - someone received a huge government grant to hire excellent people to build good displays about interscontinental ocean cables, the postal service, telecommunication and futuristic houses. The staff is clearly not expecting visitors - understandably since for hours we were the only guests. A lot of the most advertised exhibitions (e.g. houses of the future) are only available during guided tours, tues-fri @4pm... This is not a place that wants you to come visit it. But if you're adventurous and can ignore disgruntled employees you'll have fun. Be prepared for interactive displays not to work, but that's the case for many museums that only got a grant or build, not to maintain, exhibitions.

Located a bit away from main tourist routes this museum is a hidden gem. Definitely worth visiting. The underwater cables exhibition is a great lesson about our global and connected world. Other exhibition with old phones with cords and round digit plates brings memories of the past. The staff is very friendly. Not only will they explain how the things worked while they were in common use but one may try some of the equipment himself.

I found it very nostalgic for adults and interesting for children too. But there are few options for children to interact. Entry for groups of 3 to 10 people costs €5. It's worth the visit. Well-organized museum with a well-connected circuit, set up in labyrinths, each curve something new.

So empty you could hear a pin drop, no one else there. Stone cool exhibits of the 70s-2010 era most interesting to me. They have signs for a cafeteria, but it's just a single vending machine and some chairs

We loved the museum and the “Easter Maze” activity is very well thought out.

Excellent museum, very complete and appealing. Very creative and engaging activity for children, which allows adults to enjoy the museum more and children to learn a lot in a fun way.

Not sure why no one else has mentioned this, but I found the whole place really eerie. Maybe it was because I was the only one there but I felt so on edge. The lights don't turn on until you're already in the room so I kept getting jump scared by creepy models of people.

I really enjoyed visiting the museum. the time of my visit I was the only one there and as it was the last Thursday of the month the entrance was free. It provides information in English as well.

Interesting place with some great pieces of electronic communication history. The staff seemed shocked we walked through the door. We saw nobody else there except a group of students as part of a school trip which had some kind of separate class, which made for a very relaxed walkthrough. If you have some spare time in Lisbon and are interested in the subject matter, head in!

A communications museum where one needs to pay with cash - is this a joke? There are constructions going on, so there is an intense smell of solvents in the air.

I went as part of a study visit with a group of secondary school students. It's a shame our time wasn't enough to enjoy everything there was to see and do. It was very popular with both the students and the teachers, and the support provided by the guides was 5 stars. Experience to repeat.

👍👍 Beautiful place. It's such a pleasure to be here in any season in full sun or under the moon. The Belem tower is awesome !
