Excellent place to visit, very historic. Inside there are many works on the history of wars. Nearby there is a park that has a very beautiful and pleasant water fountain, excellent for children to have fun. There are always a lot of tourists during the weekend, but this time of year there are also during the week. Right next to it is the Torre de Belém and in front are the Monasteries which you can go through an underground passage. Nearby are also the famous pastéis de Belém. Essential to visit!

My husband loves all things military so this was a 'must visit'. He loved it. Part of the museum is outside with a few little exhibits held in bunkers along the wall and 3 outbuildings of exhibits covering a range of subjects life in Portugal during WW2 and the World Fair held in Portugal at that time. Also a large display of models, most of which are aircraft.

Cheap tickets and lots to see. Not much in the way of English translations, but with the price of the tickets (4 euro) not a big deal.

What a place, didn't see it on any of the "must see" attractions when looking up Lisbon but its incredible viewing. Definitely worth a visit. Not going get more value for money of a €4 ticket

Anyone interested in military weapons and wars will enjoy the museum and monuments. A look at the many names of the fallen soldiers makes it clear why April 25, 1974 was a blessing not only for Portugal, but also for the soldiers. The colonial wars bled the country dry and initiated a rethink among parts of the military. In the end there was the overcoming of fascism and the path to democracy.

Ideal in conjunction with Torre de Belem, small, fine exhibition of military items, tickets available at the kiosk next door

Nice small army and historic museum. Interesting to understand how big was the outside community of Portugal with colony. The one who once hold an uniform will appreciate it. Maybe not with children it’s a bit small and they will turn around quickly. Price €5 - view from there is also very nice.

The Forte do Bom Sucesso and the Museu do Combatente in Lisbon, is part of one of the museums of the League of Combatants, there are permanent and temporary exhibitions that report the struggles of the Portuguese Ultramar, it is in Belém close to the Torre de Belém.

Interesting museum focusing on the Portuguese militarily. I wish they had better/more English translations.

Plenty of models, if you like it. Pretty basic paint job, nothing professional. An assortment of weapons and other items you've probably already seen elsewhere. And m5a1, a Jeep and another wheeled armoured car. Several panels telling some history, mostly focused on Portugal. The trench exposition is pretty cool. Cost is 4 euro. Well, it's not bad, but not amazing either. I would recommend saving your 4 Euro and time to visit other museums. Unless you really want to know more about Portuguese army (and Navy and Air Force) history.

Wonderful museum located in a fort that was built in the 1780s. It houses exhibits incorporated from all sections of Portuguese armed forces. Tributes to the Unknown soldiers and people who fought and gave their lives during war and peace. An emotional tribute in the wall engraved with names of those who defended this country at the Eternal Flame and Changing of the Guards.

The museum located in the fort is interesting. When you read all the tables and understand the history of this place, you can feel nostalgia and sadness, especially after visiting the chapel. The museum has only one disadvantage, is that not every room has been translated into English.

Decent museum. The collection is nothing extraordinary but you can certainly spend one hour there. English translation of signs is not always present which is a shame. All in all worth the 5 euros entrance fee.

👍👍 Beautiful place. It's such a pleasure to be here in any season in full sun or under the moon. The Belem tower is awesome !
