The main room is beautiful and impressive. However, it is a bit expensive (4€ per person) for what it is. The tour of the museum is quickly done and apart from the main room and the viewpoint on top of the building, there isn’t anything else to see.

The museum is an old pumping station and you can see the steam machines that used to do the job until the 1930. Loved that the first thing they present is an installation on sustainability which shows you how much water is needed for various items from butter, eggs, apples to a mobile phone or a T-shirt. Also some interesting info on the Lisbon fountains, aqueduct and underground tanks.

A wonderful educational experience of the great history and work put into developing the present day water system in Lisbon. This is one of 4 museums/locations around the city that all tie into one another, unravelling a fascinating look through the city's background (and backbone).

Nice hidden museum (And Free entry for all of 2018) Basically one big room (pictured) about the water itself and how Portugal and Lisbon harnessed it, with signs in Portuguese and English. Then there’s interesting old equipment in the pump room but could have done with some signs to say what everything was. Would highly recommend.

Nice small museum. Some good history about water and how it was historically supplied to Lisbon. The stem pump is interesting to view as well. It's a small the location is a little out of the way and parking by car isn't great. Overall good though.

This place has literally very little to offer. It's small and not specifically interesting for both adults and kids.

It's a small museum with some really interesting information about water supply in Lisbon through centuries. It has an engineering room too. The room looks beautiful and if you are lucky they could even switch the machines on. I'd say the museum isn't in a must see list but definitely worth visiting if you stay in the area. Allotments nearby are cool too!

It has some interesting facts about conservation with respect to water usage in Portugal and the world, but the museum was underwhelming. Not worth the price or the time to trek over to the museum given that it's not very close to other attractions in Alfama.

We were lucky, they turned on the machines because there was a film crew with us. 😊

Great place to visit, a small but very interesting old pumping station, (part of it still working), the steam machinery the metalwork and the architecture are of the greatest quality and detail that is impossible to find nowadays.

I really liked this museum. I wish we went there earlier during our trip, so we could take the aqueduct tour and explore the underground reservoir system.

Nice little museum built around the old waterworks facility. Worth stopping by, especially on a day when it is free for residents.

An educative place, with interesting information regarding the water usage and history of the infrastructure in Lisbon. Good for kids (and adults) that like to make questions of the why and the how.

Free entrance for all. Very informative. The pumps are scary humongous. Loved to discover that those machines were working for more than hundreds of years. Bad side is, the museum shop is unmanned on Sundays so we weren't able to get souvenirs.

Nothing special, unfortunately, but the price is cheap and you can learn a little bit about the history of water supply and consumption in Lisbon.
