Very interesting museum. Quirky, quaint and unique. And right across the city museum.

Small museum dedicated to the art and political satire of Bordalo Pinheiro. A nice 30 or 60 minute stop along the park in the Campo Grande. We visited on the way to Pimenta Palace. Most exhibits are provided in Portuguese language, although the attendant offered an English language booklet and spoke English. While small, the museum was well curated and the artwork on display all seemed intentional and interesting. The art nouveau tile work was beautiful and technically impressive.

Amazing!!! Bordado Pinheiro was a genius, out of the box! His critics agains those who ru(i)ns the government are imortal, looks current days, specially Brazil, where he lived for some part of his live. MUST VISIT if you like history and arts. Btw, his art is …….you must see to understand. No words!

An interesting satirical artist. The exhibition is a bit small as they are renovating the building but it gives new insight into his work and the history of Portuguese politics. The satirical cartoons are fascinating and the illustrated menu cards are beautiful. It would be nice to see more ceramics but hopefully there will be more once the renovation is finished. As you leave take note of the tiles on the side of the house - cabbages and kittens-wonderful!

Cartoons and ceramic works of animals and plants. Kids would enjoy them too. No English translation on the descriptions though, but still a lot of fun just seeing the arts. Pay attention to the fish installments in the library! You can interact with them by pulling the fish models. There will be sounds of sailors talking to each other! Very interesting design.

Interesting local 19th century artist. today his prejudist cartoons would be problematic. All texts are in Portugese so use a translator!

Well worth a visit if you like porcelain, tiles, Art Nouveau and satirical political drawings. The museum is small, cosy and has a great collection of the artist's works.

Pinheiro was an excellent ceramicist, & if you like ceramics & tile design, then you would be mad not to see his work. This is an interesting museum with incredibly intricate ceramics and some brilliant political satire drawings by Pinheiro, as well as works by other illustrators in special exhibitions.

Amazing pottery, though very small exhibition and far away from lisbon centre. If you have the time then you should check it out, but not exactly worth the journey.

Very nice little museum, with a main and temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists. The work of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro himself is very impressive. A little sad though that some of the irony get's lost if you don't speak Portuguese; not everything's translated. But still very much worth a visit!

I visited the museum this weekend with a group of friends. The visit was organized 4 months ago with Maria Inês Noivo, from the educational department. There was no one expecting us, the guides were surprised?!? 😳 the audio guides supplied had no ear sets??? This museum should not be open to the public with this type of service. An embarrassment to Portugal 🇵🇹 .

Cute small museum, a must if you like glazed ceramics . I spent a half hour there, and I especially enjoyed the menus senor Pinheiro designed. Also the pictures of him from a young man to a weary old family man are interesting... Not a must do in Lisboa, but certainly if you have extra time on your hands...

Wonderful to see so many of Mr Pnheiro's works up close! It's a shame this isn't located in Caldas de Rainha where the factory is still located. And yes, descriptions of the works written in English would have been very helpful.

(Translated by Google) On this day I discovered the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum, a brand that I love, but did not know about the existence of this Museum. I was only on delivery, as it was closed for lunch. But with what I saw in the entrance, wonderful tiles and sculptures on the walls, I know that when I manage to visit the interior, the surprise will be even better. (Translated by Google) Far from it all, it's worth the incredible pieces of pottery ... some snails and alligators on the wall and the outer walls. Too bad they do not replicate the old art pieces! It has a tiled wall decorated with the head of a cat .... lovely, but not in the shop! In the temporary exhibitions show more pieces of the collection, unfortunately they were putting together a new one when we visited!

I VISITED THE MUSEUM LAST WEEKEND WITH A group pf 30+ GUESTS. THE VISIT HAD BEEN PLANNED 4 MONTHS AHEAD OF TIME. UPON ARRIVAL THERE WAS NO ONE TO GREET US - THE GUIDES HAD NO IDEA WE WERE COMING AND WE UNPREPARED. THE AUDIO GUIDES DID NOT HAVE HEAL PHONES?? THIS WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND NONE OF US WOULD RETURN TO THIS MUSEUM.
