Excellent hotel if travelling with infants/kids. The service is amazing and they make sure you have everything for your child. Breakfast at the Gin bar makes it even better with a delicious variety of spreads to choose from. Rooms were a very decent size and they have a nice size kids club which we didn't use due to our infant being 5 months. Definitely will come back. Portugal has ALOT of hills but this hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance to everything and major attractions.

I cannot recommend Martinhal Chiado enough (for families especially) We stayed here twice while in Portugal, spending a few days on either end of our trip. The location is perfectly central to where we wanted to be and we found ourselves walking everywhere! We had a wonderful room each time with full kitchens, private bedroom, washer/dryer, and a real feeling of being "home" at the end of a long day exploring. The kids club staff are so kind and intentional when interacting with the kids, and the club itself is clean and inviting. The staff of the hotel is especially memorable as they went out of their way to be helpful, gracious, kind, and full of suggestions and ideas for activities. We had the opportunity to meet the manager and get to know more about Martinhal, which just made us want to spend more time here. The restaurant attached, Bar 1855, was delicious and we found ourselves ordering in or grabbing a quick bite when it suited our little one. The best thing I can say is that after a long day of wandering around Lisbon, Martinhal is a little taste of home. You can really relax, unpack, and let the kids feel at home with the option of quick meals or other small comforts. We will be returning with family for sure.

We came as a family of 4 adults and a baby for 6 nights. We loved the comfortable rooms, generous size, large beds and complete kitchen with all the cookware, dishes, cutlery and appliances. The dining area although small is managed well with slotted breakfast hours. This is the best meal to start your day with excellent, freshly made hot eggs, cold cuts, fresh cut fruits, cheese and selection of breads, coffee Tea etc. amazing staff from front desk, room cleaning and restaurant. The kids playroom is nice, clean, large and well stocked along with options for babysitting. Definitely recommend this centrally located hotel for anyone.

Excellent hotel for families in a perfect location. We were travelling as a family (my wife, our 8 month old son and myself). We had a large room with all the necessary equipment (baby bed, changing table, etc). Everything you need for children is available. The babysitting service is fantastic to allow parents to enjoy the nightlife of Lisbon. And the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend.

We had a drink in the bar/restaurant. Tastefully decorated. Great choice is you need a break from the busy, touristy streets.

Hotel is in the Chiado neighborhood and therefore perfectly located to visit Lisbon by foot. We were staying with our 2 young kids in a single bedroom appartement that was fully equipped for babies and young children’s. The staff was amazing, kind and concerned to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Hotel also has a Kids club and a playroom and our son enjoyed spending time in both of them. Only little negative point was that our room was located on the ground floor and there was therefore some street noise. If possible I would recommend to ask for a more elevated floor to avoir this but if you are visiting Lisbon with young children, this is definitively a good place to stay.

Contemporary, clean, spacious and has kids club. Staff are friendly and nice. The restaurant has good breakfast, Dinner menu was limited. There are two near by metro stations (one up hill and the other downhill so keep that in mind if you have luggages and stroller as it might be challenging) however its convenient if you are a walker. Near by shops and restaurants including McDonald’s. we are coming back definitely.

A fantastic hotel with great employees, we stayed there recently and it's place that I would highly recommend if staying central in Lisbon. Thanks for giving us a warm welcome on our first visit to Portugal and we will definitely be back in the near future to spend time there again.

Super service, great location, breakfast was amazing, kids club we normally don’t do but our kids didn’t want to leave. Just a fantastic hotel with a nice room too. Well done to the entire team.

Exceptional hotel, especially when you are traveling as a family. My kid loved it and they had anything one would miss in a regular hotel, the small details really made a difference. Thanks for the room upgrade and the kind staff, we will definitely be staying here again when visiting beautiful Lisbon again.

The staff was exceptional. They made all the difference. Yes the hotel was lovely and and clean. But it was staff that set the hotel apart. We had, earlier in the trip, a bad experience with management at a five star hotel, so it really meant a lot to me that the crew at Martinhal was so keen.

Everything was phenomenal...I wish they had one of these in every city. Our room was well appointed, the breakfasts were fantastic, the babysitters were wonderful, the location was convenient, the staff was kind and helpful...just a great stay all around.

Beautiful luxury apartment hotel with a kids club. We had a very spacious apartment with two twin beds and king bedroom. We liked having the convenience of a laundry machine, full kitchen (even though we dine out everyday) just for keeping on hand some snacks in the fridge for our child. An arrival there was a full carton of juice and milk for us, and some fresh fruit as well. Breakfast is delightful and provided great variety. We had welcome drinks in the bar-restaurant and would have gone back for more of their great cocktails if we had more time. Great location, very central.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Amazing staff, amazing location, amazing facilities. This hotel is located in a great central place, close to some nice coffee places, good restaurants, food market shopping extra. It is easy to get to all of Lisbon's tourist activities. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and fully stacked with everything necessary. The reception staff is always so nice and willing to help with everything. And, the best thing is, if you are travelling with children, this place has the most amazing kids club! It's in a beautiful space, with the sweetest staff and great activities for kids. We and our kids had such a great time there. We will definitely come back!

We had an incredible family stay. Our 15-month old daughter loved the crèche, the kid-friendly dinners and the staff who treated her very well. From a complimentary upgrade when we checked in, to gifts and toys for our daughter, everything was above and beyond.

If you're planning on doing a family trip to Lisbon, this is the hotel to stay at! This is a hotel with families in mind. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and kid-oriented. In the lobby, there's also a Kids Club that offers daycare at all times of the day; the staff there were really good at making the kids comfortable. We were assigned room 002, which was the size of a small apartment, with a bedroom that had a king size bed and bunk beds situated in the family room. I know bunk beds can be nerve wracking with little kids, but the hotel had bumpers installed for safe sleeping. Location wise, you're in the heart of the city with lots of restaurants and shops within close walking distance. It'd be hard not to recommend this hotel, unless you are traveling with no kids or on a business trip.

My family and I were able to spend the first 3 and last 3 nights of our trip to Portugal at the Martinhal Lisbon Chiado and Martinhal Lisbon Oriente respectively - this will be a cross post to both locations. Traveling with two children under the age of 3 is not an easy task, but in my wildest dreams I could not imagine a better experience at a hotel than what we enjoyed with the Martinhal brand - their attention to detail for parents and children alike was exceptional. Every single staff member we encountered was helpful, patient and kind and I walked away from every experience feeling like we made the right choice by starting and ending our trip with at these hotels. A wonderful experience and I encourage anyone traveling with kids to stay here - you won't regret it.

Great location and even better service from the hotel staff! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay for our first international trip with our 6 month old. The Baby Concierge is great and offer just about everything you could ever need to help with your little ones!

We had the best hotel experience ever staying at Martinhal. The staff were amazing, they really cared about the guests, and were enthusiastic about everything they did. A special thank you to the chef, the manager, and the amazing restaurant staff. The first night we arrived there with our 1year old, it was late at a night and we hadn’t had anything to eat yet. The chef made a fresh apple and pear purée that was delicious and our little one loved it, along with a homemade style pasta. The hotel also offers babysitting services to the rooms. Our sitter was so friendly and nice, and we were able to enjoy a night out in Lisbon. The location is also ideal, all the main attractions are nearby. The best hotel ever!!!

Our hotel Martinhal is the perfect homey feel base for exploring Lisbon and relaxing in between.

Unfortunetly, we had an emergency with our baby and we had to cancel our trip after the delay given by the cancellation policy, which meant it would have cost us the full amount. After reaching out to Martinhal Chiado they understood our emergency and offered us a full refund. You cannot get better service then this. For us we do not doubt the quality of service this hotel can provide to it's clients... Thank you Marinthal Chiado!

Absolutely fantastic experience. The location couldn’t be better and everything is perfectly thought through for families with kids, without compromising on the stuff that parents look for in a nice hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. We will be back ASAP. Thank you Martinhal!

Really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are well stocked and equipped (washer, microwave, oven, kitchen tools). They left complimentary milk and orange juice which was a nice touch. The rooms were spacious. If you are on the fifth floor, be careful. The ceiling is angled and low at certain points. I hit my head a couple of time.

Wonderful place to stay as a young family - they have all bases covered when it comes to baby equipment, but it doesn't feel like you're compromising on the quality of the hotel for the adults either. Worth noting we had the room-only option, but there are good places to have breakfast locally, or in the room given the well-stocked kitchen. Close to the Time Out Market - less formal than restaurants and a good takeaway option too. A great place for a first holiday with a baby!

Lovely hotel! Located within walking distance of stores, malls, bars, restaurants and major attractions. The room was ample and perfect for families. Their staff are amazing! They go beyond and above to make sure all is great during your stay. Since there are plenty of restaurants around, we just ate once at their restaurant and it was really good as well. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Nice cafe. Immaculately clean. The classic old bmw bubble car is a treat for children to climb into and pretend they are driving. Real towels and flowers in the loos.

Popped in for breakfast as the inside and outside looked clean, tidy and inviting. What a let down. I asked for poached egg as advertised and that’s exactly what I got - 1 poached egg which looked more like scrambled on a plate. My friend asked for toast and got a roll halfed with butter already on and a pot of jam - €1.20 for the butter and another €1.20 for the jam!! Very expensive for not a lot and average service. Might have caught them on a bad day however in the hospitality industry they seriously need to improve the service and how they present it.

The restaurant/cafe is a wonderful place to take you children. There is a table on the back and some toys where the children can make drawings and play safely and a small car on the front for them to play. Employees are very attentive with the children and prices reasonable taking in account the space.

It's not a top ratio just because it's a family hotel.. That's their business, nothing against. Fabulous hotel in Lisbon City centre.. Incredible, beautiful and big rooms. Large variety of amenities for children. Restaurant it's not good...average food, highly priced. Better to stay in Hotel and eat outside, plenty of offer In restaurants. Changed my review to 4 stars, after experiencing other hotels that suited me as examples.
