I went to a concert in the Auditório Grande. Beautiful space, excellent acoustics, wonderful Brahms program. I will return to explore more of the Center.

We always attend fantastic shows here. The theater is plush and comfortable. These images are from the Carnival Concert. This is the 2nd year we have attended. It is always entertaining.

This modern building is a calm oasis away from the tourism bedlam surrounding it. There is an excellent coffee shop (a little hard to find but worth seeking out) and the art gallery is a great art space with many leading artists works on display. Picasso, Man-Ray, Mondrian, Miro, and Francis Bacon are just a few. It's well worth spending a couple of hours here.

The modern art gallery is worth a look, although when I went there two of its floors were completely closed - why do museums never tell you that when you buy your ticket?

This stark modern building between the Jeronimos monastery and the Tagus is a cultural and conference centre that stresses music, performing art and photography, with a large Exhibition Centre. Both the café and restaurant spill out onto the ramparts of the building whose peaceful gardens of olive trees and geometric lawns look out over the quay and the river. The entrance is free, except for the exhibitions indeed. There's all facilities for the disable people. Must be visited. Marvelous place!

Museum is nice and cool, the workers / personal not open and absolutly not friendly to families with kids. One of the guards said to us after we where playing with an 2 years old kid and trying to grow up her with art: „your kid is loud and annoying“ ..…trained and professional personal wouldn’t say that !

Excellent arts and culture center in Lisbon. Lots of facilities in this modern and chic building. The cafe is also good with organic food and healthy choices. Definitely recommended.

Belem was sooo pretty 🤩 No regrets at all to visit this neighborhood impulsively when in Lisbon. So many local cuisine to try, so many cute coffee shops there are museums and cultural centers and touristy object in near by/ walking distance from one and another. Plenty activities to do from just sitting down enjoy the amazing beach view, soaking to the sun ☀️, go to the museums and whatever makes you happy 😊

Nice little museum near Belém Tower. Really it's a quick in-and-out but informative. Also not a bad place to find a coffee (inside). I honestly didn't care for the art gallery inside, but I guess art can be very subjective. Definitely part of the whole Lisbon experience.

Great museum, next to the other major attractions. A détour worth you time. Don't miss the awesome terrasse after the visit with a view on the river. There is also a chill place to relax with bean bags and all. Only problem visiting is that I ran out of time and didn't get to see everything. The exhibition is arranged chronologicaly and there are explanations dedicated for kids. A nice touch!

Great location for concerts and events. We were here for a classical music concert and the seats were comfortable. Next to many other notable attractions. Definitely buy tickets in advance so you don't have to wait in line at the ticket office.

We went to the art exposition. Most of the art pieces were painted by men (maybe 95%) and a lot of them depicted naked women. A part from that, a lot of the paintings looked like they were painted by kids. I feel like more talented artists could have taken this opportunity. Very disappointing.

Modern exhibition centre, good place to spend a while if raining or very hot. Some areas were being refurbished so only half open still enjoyed it.

Really beautiful building. The architecture reminded me of Moroccan architecture. Very nice museum with paitings from Picasso, Miro, Magritte and many others.

Nice and interesting. In my opinion, since this is such an important area in terms of history, there should have something written just to explain why is this area such important for the rest of the country and worldwide.

We did not visit the expositions, but wandering through the building we found a nice terrasse overseeing the Tage with a terrasse where you get refreshments and cool down in the warm afternoon.

Great place to visit museums, parks and for wandering on foot to see street art.

I was very puzzled by this place. Modern art is not for everyone but I don't have good feeling from it at all. The small details in lighting, position around others paintings or working details make the difference between ok and great! Some staff members were so nice and helpful and fill of fun, others just bark on everyone around. Not nice feeling.

I've been 2 times to Centro Cultural de Belém and I always enjoyed the view of the bridge and sea. The architecture of the buildings are quite interesting, very different from Lisbon. Recommend, even though due to corona times, there's not much to do apart from sitting on the grass, buying icecream, coffee and/or enjoying the sun. There are public and clean bathrooms, which is always a nice touch :)

The best cultural Lisbon has to offer, great museum and temporary expos, great concert hall, great exotic gardens with sculptures and lakes. A true haven in busy Belém!

Huge building. Quite a large collection of modern art. I wasn't that impressed. It must be very difficult buying art by the big names. The most recent ones on floor - 1 were interesting.

An outstanding museum of contemporary art with many thought provoking pieces. The permanent exhibition contains paintings and sculptures from world renowned artists. Very impressive!

Everytime I'm in town I come here, they always have nice local and international concerts. The area itself is worth s visit, you can pay a visit to the museum, grab a coffee and enjoy the sunset. There's a nice view of the padrao dos descobrimentos here. Even if you're not planning to stay for long but if you wind up in Belem this is a must see.

Five stars because the Berardo modern art museum is here. Definitely the major modern art institution in Portugal, but in my opinion also in the European top 10.

This is one of the biggest centres that I saw in Lisbon! Not only it’s well located, but also worth the money for the ticket. All the exhibitions that they have there are usually pretty interesting and you can spend a couple of hours enjoying modern art. I like the approach that they have regarding the places for their art objects, everything looks very thoughtful. I also can say that they have very friendly and professional workers. All the guys signing art themselves and can not only tell you about the exhibition stuff, but also about art in general. By talking to them you can learn how to understand modern art, colours etc etc. They all speak English, so if you don’t speak Portuguese, you won’t have any problems talking to them. Overall it’s a nice place that you should not miss, if you care about art and culture.

The garden of the place on the water is charming. If you are not coming for an exhibition, a play or a concert, there is nothing interesting about the building itself

  • 2/5 Jignesh P. 2 years ago on Google
The staff have no clue what’s going on inside the place. Some told me to go an area and others to elsewhere and nobody has idea of what’s free and/or open. The exhibitions are ok, nothing special a bit overpriced I’d say. Exterior of the building saved the visit.

Normally there's nothing but the Bernardo museum, some weekends there's a small fair. I'd go on a weekend so you can enjoy the monastery and the flea market close by.

One of the best modern art collections in the world. Good location close to other major attractions and Tejo river. Good food options on restaurants.

Seeing a modern ziggurat is quite a shock. Nice collection of modern and contemporary art.

👍👍 Beautiful place. It's such a pleasure to be here in any season in full sun or under the moon. The Belem tower is awesome ! This fortress in the middle of the Tagus has been the starting point for the navigators who set out to discover the trade routes. The expansive spirit is still present here. En...
