If you visit Lisbon must take ride across bridge and what you see from here will be breathtaking. Monument and view from there is best. Ticket to go up but but this is must. Best photo opportunity here.

A fun stop to make when visiting Lisbon. Admission is 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children. They only take cash and there is no need to buy tickets in advance. There is a quick elevator ride which takes you near the top. You then climb two flights of stairs to reach the observation deck which has some amazing views. Upon leaving the observation deck you literally must exit through a gift shop just underneath the statue. There are at least two chapels on site.

We came there by taxi, since it'd have taken too long with a bus. It's worth it, especially in a clear day. The view is pretty much all across the metropolitan area of Lisbon. €6 to get up with the elevator and then a staircase. The employees there are OK, not so friendly, but do their best to ensure order and answer questions in English. "God is love" is written in different languages, meaningful for those who believe, I assume.

Spectacular and breathtaking views over Lisbon and the ocean from this amazing position. We went over the bridge early morning to beat the crowds and just bought a ticket when we got there. The view from the bridge (like San Fran's Golden Gate) you go up an elevator to near the top. Then two flights of stairs to an observation deck above. A gift shop at the base and we saw two chapels. I love great views and this monument is up there with the very best!

Great views and free to walk around and look at the monument. We took a return boat from over the river for 3 euros. Then a 22 minute walk up to the statue. You can go to the top for a free but there is also a free church within the monument. Also on the site is a souvenir shop and cafe!

Whatever you may or may not think about the Catholic church, this monument is actually quite impressive. Especially the view from the top over the Tagus towards Lisbon or across the Atlantic is spectacular. We strongly recommend to combine visiting this with a boat tour from Lissabon.

Nice and peaceful place, worth visiting with stunning view. Ticket up to see Jesus closer is 6€. Opened from 10am easily accessible from the city center by bus. Good café just below the statue as well. Whole place is easily accessible for everybody.

The whole place is magnificent. Amazing view, both bridges can be seen, the harbour, the ships and the city (we did not visit the chapel). The facilities are free, but not really satisfactory. You can relax under the trees on the lawn looking over the river.

It's a very beautiful place. Especially at sunset in good weather. In winter it closes at 6:00 p.m. The last elevator to the top leaves at 17:40. The ticket costs 6 euros per adult, only cash is accepted. Everyone wants to get to the sunset, so a line appears for about 10 minutes.

Spectacular monument!! We didn’t go to the top but a nice area where you can walk on the grounds and have a fantastic view of Lisbon! Would definitely recommend visiting even for an hour or so. Toilets are clean. We took the bus 753 and walked for 12minutes to get there but you can get the ferry over which is quicker.

There's a public parking lot and some street parking when you go here. We didn't know until we got to the top of the hill so don't make the same mistake we did as it was quite a walk. We waited in line for a long time but the view was worth the wait. Nice view of Lisbon. Tickets are bought right before you enter (when you get to the front of the line). Adults are 8€ and it's cash only.

It was nice to see him up close, after looking at him from afar all week. This is a must see! You also get great views of the April 25th bridge. I believe you can walk up the statue as well, we didn't. There is food and a gift shop on site.

Very good place! The Christ is very nice and in general the whole place is beautiful. I believe going up to the christ statue is not worth it because you would get to have the same views from the ground floor. The view of Lisbon is astonishing, it may be a bit far from the city but if you have time go for it!

Another beautiful place, a must visit when in Portugal. Mind blowing landscape, you can visit the top of Christ the king for a small cost. Cafe on site for a quick bite too.

Cristo Rei is an amazing statue in Lisbon. It's really tall and you can see the whole city from there. Inside, it's pretty and calm, and there's a cool history to learn about. You can easily get there by car or bus. Take the elevator to the top for the best views.

Very easy and cheap to get to from central Lisbon. The ferry is frequent, as is the bus on the other side. The statue with its huge plinth is very imposing, though, from close quarters at any rate, not such as to inspire devotion (not in me, anyway!). Really, the most impressive aspect is the amazing view. Access is reasonable, though there are a lot of stairs to climb. There are toilets close by and a nice cafe with plenty of seating in the shade. Get there early to avoid the crowds.

Amazing views of Lisbon and a special place of worship. Landmark of the city definitely worth visiting, even on a cloudy / foggy day. Finally, the view is already amazing from the ground, but since you are there anyway, do not miss going all the way to the top as the 360° spectacle is breathtaking.

A peaceful and calm place to visit Jesus Christ. Beautiful artwork in the chapel.A detailed route to get to the actual place is required. A taxi or Uber is necessary closer to the surroundings.

Great view of Lisbon. Might take long time to go up as only 10 persons get into, the elevator. It is also a detour of 15 minutes from the highway so make your decision wisely if it worth getting there and if to go up

After 10 min ferry, we walked 40 minutes uphill. The area is quiet nice and peaceful (use public elevator). To visit christ is 8euro per person. There is an elevator for the top. The view from here is amazing. Alsı it is the highest point in Lisbon ( i think😀)

This place was super cool! I was reading some of the history of it and it was inspired by the bigger statue in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The Portuguese built this because they were thankful that God spared Portugal during WW2. you get a breath taking view of Lisbon. And if you choose to go to the top of the statue, it's $8 euro per person and it's cash only.

Great views of the bridge and Lisbon from the other side of the river. There is no need to go to the top. Views are just as good. Toilets are available here too. Sunset is amazing from here. If u did want to go up just a warning it gets really busy and you might have to queue for a while.

Beautiful monument and surrounding area. Nice ferry ride from city centre to get here. Took a bus back. Lovely views of the bridge and Lisbon city from the island.

What a blessing it was to visit this place? I got to go here during the last leg of our Europe trip! The fee to get to the Summit is $8 and it's definitely worth it. There's a little chapel with the Blessed Sacrament exposed and confessions are heard as well :)

  • 5/5 Ross S. 6 months ago on Google
Beautiful monument. Well worth the admission price to take in the views and the peace. Gorgeous gardens to walk around as well. Public transport from the ferry terminal is cheap and easy too. Tip - they were only taking cash for ticket payments on the day we were here, so bring Euro!

Very busy during my mid-week visit, but we'll worth the wait. Beautiful views over the river towards Lisbon. The area itself is also well worth a visit with great little local restaurants within easy walking distances from the site.

Best spot if you want to see the City of Lisbon from high above. There is free toilet so you don't need to worry. If you want to go up, you need to prepare €8 for adults. Remember, it's cash only, and there is no ATM machine. So, it is better to prepare the money in advance.

Data of visit: 12/22/2023 It's very clean and organized. Gives you an amazing view of Lisbon and 25 de Abril Bridge. We loved it. Cafe prices are good, bathrooms clean. My 10 you and I enjoyed exploring the public transport (buses and ferries) to get there. It's not the most admirable piece of architecture I've seen in Europe or Portugal, you can't stop thinking why this structure is so boring. Also, for the lift up, they accept only cash.

This is a place you need to go to have a great look over Lisbon. To cross the river it took around 2€ and to take the elevator to top of Jesus another 8€ (just cash, no recipe!). Even you don't go to top, the garden and the view is ....just woow!

  • 5/5 Em's 4 months ago on Google
Such a stunning place. You don't realise how large it is from across the river. It is on the hill so it's a hard walk up. There are buses up that stop just outside. I recommend going up the lift as the views are amazing.

  • 4/5 Jo 4 months ago on Google
Free to enter. Great views over to Lisbon....the day we went was foggy so didn't bother with going up in the lift. However, only 8 euros per person so worth going on a fine day.

  • 5/5 Olú A. 8 months ago on Google
The view point up is just the most awesome. There’s a chapel that must be seen with the relics of saints. It costs 8€ for adults and it’s free for children up to 12 years old. You could wait up to 10minutes or less depending on what time and how many people are visiting when you visit. You could also get a nice medallion of Christo Rei for 2€ at from the medallion vending machine. Being so closed to the sacred heart will remind you to love as Christ love and that he is opening his sacred heart to receive all who comes to him.

Breathtaking place which has great views of Lisbon proper. The statue makes you feel insignificant standing next to it. It is definitely one of the unique landmarks of Lisbon and can be seen from almost every viewpoint in the city. There is a recently renovated parking inside, no need to park on the street.

  • 5/5 Sarosh J. 9 months ago on Google
They made the statue too big.. hard to capture in a single shot 😂. Great views, great sculpture. The gardens are a great tribute as well with all the rows of olive trees and date palms.

  • 4/5 Paulo L. 8 months ago on Google
It's a beautiful building but I need to confess I got a bit disappointed with the fact that since now it's the JMJ23 they have increased the price from 5€ to 8€ and that they didn't have card payments. Only cash. I was told the top view is not better than the view on the bottom so then I didn't even bother going up and waiting in the queue. The view on the bottom was already amazing and that was enough for me. This is a great viewpoint over Lisbon. If you came here go to the location. There is a big parking lot where you can park your car easily.

Outstanding statue that looks over Lisbon from far above. Easy to visit with the ferry, a Bolt cab or Tuktuk. We walked there and the walk there is challenging, especially because of the continuous incline. Once there, it was worth it. Serious waiting lines if you get there later in the day. To be honest, from the area itself, you get plenty of views and images of the statue, so we didn't enter it. On the way back we did take a Bolt for 5 euro.

Must go landmark if you wish to enjoy a 360degree view of Lisbon. You could go up the statue for 7 euros. There’s not much queue on a weekday so I don’t think it’s necessary to purchase ticket in advance. Also you already have a great view even just from the foot of the statue where there’s a viewing deck. There’s a cafe/restaurant and souvenir shops here as well

  • 5/5 Brian W. 1 year ago on Google
Can go up the elevator to the top for 6 euro. Great view. Can walk around the base and look at other statues and go to the view point. Restaurant and souvenir shop at the base. If you are only in Lison once you need to come see.

Beautiful monument. 6 euros to ride the lift to the base of his feet (observation deck). Amazing views of Lisbon and Almada. Went early to avoid the crowds and lines.

Great place to admire the impressive artwork of Christ the King, as well as to renew our faith. This statue was inspired by the similar , but huge statue in Brazil. It was so windy that afternoon, but it was great place to enjoy outdoor especially Lisbon across the sea and the bridge.

  • 5/5 Jigar P. 2 years ago on Google
It was breath-taking and views from the top were absolutely stunning. Even going to the top in sanctuary was quick with queues constantly moving and not much waiting time.

  • 5/5 Raluca 2 years ago on Google
A beloved icon of Lisbon, a panoramic point as well as a worship place. It is impressive to see the statue up close and to recognise all the sights on the other side of the river.

👍👍 Definitely worth a visit ! It's not a very common place for tourists to visit, but it was the highlight of my trip to Lisbon. Take the ferry from Cais do Sodre.
