A very good collection of Portuguese historic aircraft. A lot of variety and all presented very well, in very good condition. Note, not all the signboards are in English. As a photographer the placing of the aircraft wasn't so great but you can get up very close to them as well. Only €3 entry, really good value.

Highly recommend, the place is very interesting for both kids and adults, so many different aviation machines - fantastic! Affordable, good parking, super customers centered staff, lots of interactive things.

amazing museum that looks after their aircraft. Standard or display is incredible and in English as well as Portuguese on many displays. €3 for an adult which is the best value aviation museum I have been too, great little shop too. Cafe there but wasn’t open but very reasonably priced vending machine. Worth the trip out of Lisbon if staying there.

A very well taken care museum. A good place to spend the day with kids who like airplanes and airplane engineering. Lots of airplanes including a DC3 that actually participated on D-day. The museum has a shop too.

The museum was built in 1968 and opened in 1971 in Military Aviation hangar of Alverca but in 2009 a new site was allocated for the museum in Sintra Air Base. The exhibition includes many sections Hangar, a section for ANA and another for TAP, Pioneers section and the shop. You can see the actual planes or helicopters and jets dating back to hundred years ago. There were some sections that you could enter the planes to visit but temporarily this experience was not available due to sanitary measurements. Overall it was an interesting visit though it is only accessible by car and no public transport is available to get there. The entrance is 3 euros for adults, 1.5 for seniors and 1 for students.

It ia a very big place with interesting planes such as the MK IV Spitfire also the entrance price isn't high at all . Despite that if you want to see all of them you need to call them in advance in order to make a reservation

Such a great museum! Lots of airplanes, options to sit inside and press buttons, pull levers. Interactive screens. All at a very reasonable price. We visited with 2 boys aged 3 and 8 - perfect entertainment for them and us!

Small, very well organised museum near the local airbase. Good selection of aircraft, comercial and war planes. Well worth a visit. Easy access by road and plenty of parking place. Relatively near Lisbon, only reachable by car.

Very nice, neat and tidy. Great collection, interesting and educational. You'll have a great time there. On the down side, you can't go in or even get close and high enough to peek through the windows of most of the aircrafts (which is something that would attract a lot of aficionados), the coffee shop was closed and apparently does not open often, and for some reason (maybe rain(?)) the exterior collection was off limits. There were some very cool planes there but I wasn't able to get to them. Perhaps they're working on that part of the exhibition, I honestly don't know. Anyway, highly recommended. Overall very positive experience.

Very nice museum. Spotless and lots to see. It’s a shame the cafeteira was shut and none of the airplanes was open for climbing / touching for children. Maybe it’s due to Covid, but overall very cool place to go to.

(Translated by Google) I really liked the Museum. In addition to displaying some of the planes they made and making aviation history, there are sections with the history of TAP and other curiosities related to the world of aviation. The price of the ticket is merely symbolic because for € 3.00 a very interesting morning or afternoon is spent. I recommend. Recomendo.

Interesting! I really liked that the real creator of airplane, and the true first plane that really flew, Santos Dumont and the 14 Bis, are the first things we can see.

  • 5/5 Alex van O. 1 year ago on Google
At this museum you'll find a collection of old aircraft, from the 1930s to the 1980s. A few are models, others are the real thing. A few of them can actually be entered allowing you to view (and touch) the cockpit controls. Further, there is an exposition of flight personnel uniforms through the years, as well as cabin eating utensils and publicity materials. Entrance fee is EUR 3 and EUR 1 for children.

Very nice museum with some interesting and unique examples. Presents an insight into Portuguese aviation history and also a nice renewed space with TAP Air Portugal history. Has the added bonus of being part of an airbase, with the air force academy and an active runway

  • 5/5 Daniela A. 10 months ago on Google
It brought tears to my eyes to see The 14 Bis of Santos Dumont right at the entrance! The most amazing thing is that, that replica was actually flown, according to Col Mota Raposo, the Director of the museum. The details of The Demoiselle are absolutely astonishing, all hand made with noble materials and the Nobless of a Regal 👸🏼 Lady! I loved 🥰!! I will be back for sure!!!

  • 4/5 Ana N. 9 months ago on Google
Very interesting exposition, with varied aircrafts from different eras and types. Unfortunately, you can only go inside two aeroplanes. It was a very hot day when we visited, so the hangars became extremely hot as well. There was only a vending machine with some snacks and drinks and a coffee machine. The personal was very kind and helpful. There's also a cute little souvenir shop where you can get your own TopGun like jacket 😄 Entrance is free for people living in Portugal on the first Sunday of the month. It is also free for children up to 6 years old.

Unbelievable display of Airplane history. And it's a bargain price.

  • 3/5 Maria Beatriz R. 7 months ago on Google
The museum is nicely curated. However there are only a few translations of the information available in portuguese but they are sparse and fall short of the original meaning. The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly and gave us unnecessary attitude. My dad was very excited and both checked the website as well as called to double check the hours of the museum. Even upon arrival the front desk lady condescendingly told us “the museum closes at 5, you should hurry” (we had an 1:30h left and the museum really isn’t that big), however the exterior hangar ( one of the most exciting parts of the exhibit) was closed and had a printed note saying it closes at 4:30. Overall meh experience and my dad was deflated.

  • 3/5 Iskra S. 7 months ago on Google
Couldn’t go in with my dog. I had his special backpack, but they refused. Also there wasn’t any info about dogs, so this comment is for anyone who wants to visit the museum with their dog.

Not a big one but really well maintained museum dedicated to the history of the Portuguese aviation. Very well arranged and very clean! Some of the planes from the Pioneers era I have not seen anywhere else. And You walk close to the planes, see details, can climb in some of the planes and see the cockpits. We visited with my son and could stop smiling :-) Highly recommended for enthusiasts!
