Picture for a moment that you finally get a sitter and head out for the first date night in while and you want Mexican. So you decided to try “that place we haven’t tried yet”. Upon arrival you are greeted with friendly staff but just one bite of the now infamous Beef Chimichanga of 2022 and you realized you should have put the car in reverse and left out of the parking lot before entering this vacuum of flavor. Imagine the texture of bland unseasoned flesh being chewed around in your mouth with ZERO flavor. Now you have experienced the SUB PAR Chimichanga at Colorado’s Springs Own Senor Manuel “Mexican” “Restaurant”. You are welcome. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I pass by here quite often and it always smells so good, and they're usually pretty busy. My boyfriend and I finally decided to stop in and try it and I was sadly disappointed. The smells are deceiving; the food did not taste anything like I had expected. In fact, the food was pretty bland. To top it off, it was so expensive. I believe we paid $45 for 2 lunch specials.

Not impressed. I did get the food quickly, but it was $12 for two tacos. The meat was bland. The corn soft tortillas fell apart. They wanted to charge me $3 for a little cup of salsa. I understand inflation, but I would pay half that much at the best taco truck in town and be much more satisfied.

This is a must try!!! Never been here before & with the service that was given it was truly a great choice. Make sure when you come here & if it's your 1st time they will bring out every chili or Sauce they have to let you test Try to see whats your desired flavor. From medium to burning hot! The food on the other level is insane. These plates are full the portion of the food you get it insane. We got the giant chicken enchiladas & a bean & cheese burrito supreme with guacamole & sour cream! With rice & beans. They took a while to come to our table so our waiter gave us a free appetizer of our choice! Which was even more food! We chose the bean dip, which was another great choice. There was nothing small about this place, I mean every meal we ordered was a huge amount! The environment was a happy comfortable place, all the workers were so friendly & very attentitive to every one the place was constantly packed. Our waitress was jeniece & she was awesome!! Very friendly & made our visit even better!!  Overall I loved it!! I'll be back for sure! & next time I'll be sure to try there famous Margaritas!!

Some of the best chips I've ever had—bite-size, toasted, full of corn flavor, and complemented the salsa well. The dishes stand out as unique versions of classic items. The rellenos, for instance, were built differently but from the standard ingredients. Friendly service, and plenty of seating. Fun atmosphere that's also modest. Big portions but still a bit pricey.

Good food, though a bit pricey. Not too spicy.

The orange margarita was to die for. The service was very good. The food was lack luster and plain. Fajita's tasted good but the flavor needed to be turned up 10 notches. Very under flavored. The beef was extremely dry too. It was overcooked and the whole dish was dry with hardly any oil and moisture to soak into the tortilla. The corn tortilla was also so dry. The rice also lacked flavor and tasted like boiled rice. We were hoping to make this our go to, but were very disappointed.

I have no idea how this place has 4.3 stars with this many reviews. Our food was at best edible but leaning towards gross. The chips are like hard fritos and the salsa is watery and tastes like marinara. Enchiladas and tacos were just not good. All four of us thought the food was terrible. Refried beans were the only decent tasting item. Not to mention that this place is completely overpriced with most meals being around $20 per plate. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant so high priced. Our waitress was fast and did a great job. Just because they claim authenticity does not mean it tastes great.

The food was average, not really any authentic seasoning, no cilantro, the “deep fried” carnitas was dime sized bits of meat overcooked and weren’t even juicy nor crispy. Tasted like just plain meet with no seasoning at all. The complimentary chips and salsa were okay, the salsa was very watered down. Again no cilantro and really flavorless. My girlfriends shrimp tacos were bland and the white sauce you order to add some flavor was super bland and just tasted like crema. The staff were friendly, but the food was not worth the prices at all.

Pork Tamale After Picture! Wow!! Omg 😂😂 Loved this! Order this! Is a must plus a Strawberry or Mango Margarita. It is spicy as hell, but the alcohol just mellows your mouth right away, creating a one of a kind experience! Great place to sit down with family and/or friends! Try, you won't be sorry ☺️🙏🙏🙏

This review hurts. I know times are tough and restaurant owners are trying. However, my last experience was not good. Señor Manuel’s USED to have decent, reliable FLAVORFUL, comfort food. NOT ANY MORE. I have no idea what happened. I had the shredded beef tacos. The meat had ZERO seasoning. So did everything else. My husband had the a chicken burrito with some type of sauce in top. It was not cheese. However, it was somewhat seasoned or better yet it was salted. The chicken tasted just like canned chicken. It had the consistency of canned chicken. My husband who eats ANYTHING even said wow. I don’t know what happened but I will not be going back. We spent a lot on that meal and it was pretty terrible.

Ordered to-go and picked up to eat at home. Portions were large and chips were fantastic. Shrimp tacos were ok- shrimp delicious but tortilla collapsed the second I picked it up. Only big problem was that there was a very long hair inside my enchiladas which sadly ruined the rest of the food for my partner and I. If it weren’t for the hair- I’d rate a 4/5.

Food was horrible. Staff was super nice. Carne asada was like leather/beef jerky. The cheese on the beans was moldy. The corn tortillas were also very dried out and leathery. Super disappointing. The quality used to be much better.

This place is worth far higher reviews. I was craving good Mexican and chose this place on a whim while visiting the Springs and DAMN! Some of the best I’ve had in Colorado. The homemade chips are amazing, the Rumchata cocktail was bomb, the pan-fried taco was delish and rice n beans were a cheesy casserole of goodness. This is one of those places worth driving outta the way for!

Pretty good Mexican food, no cap. Beans and rice are simple sides surprisingly easy to botch, but they nail it here. Love most of the chillis here too! My least favorite so far however, one of their signature chillis. Forget what it's called, but the one with mushrooms, just didn't bring the heat for me. Hours are alittle wierd, they sell breakfast but usually well after breakfast time, and close pretty early. Honestly they could get rid of the breakfast menu and I'm not to sure to many would complain. I know it's not why I seek it out for sure. Tried a breakfast skillet once and really didn't feel worth the price, missed the mark for me. Place still shouldn't be over looked tho, which honestly is pretty easy to do. Love the homemade chips, salsa is more of a sauce but pretty good in its own right. Abit on the pricey side however I usually find it worth it... usually.

1st experience here. Our waitress was amazing. She brought out little saucers of their homemade sauces to use on their different dishes, so I got the best ones for me.

The server was great and we got our food quickly. However, my Chile rellano was more sauce than Chile. My husband's food was mediocre as well.

Food was delicious. Service was great. Maybe the best in the Springs!

Always moan-worthy food. Our tall gentleman waiter made the experience just perfect. He anticipated our every need, even when we came in close to closing time on a holiday weekend. This place is truly one of Colorado Springs' gems.

This place is a locals mainstay for a reason! All the dishes that I've had here have been delicous including the food that I've stolen off others plates when we're out to eat. They have a variety of margs to choose from, now from this list I haven't had to many because I'm a fan of the silvercoin but I'm sure there's one on their list for every margarita fan. The staff here is great super helpful and attentive and it really seems like they enjoy their job.

To be honest, I saw the restaurant and really wanted generic Mexican food, but this was far from generic. It had great portions, and the service was just amazing. With that being said - I would say the upcharges are super high for minimal stuff, and the overall cost just isn't worth it for the flavor. Want a side of sour cream? 4.99. Want a drink? 4.99. Want to change the type of salsa/chili on your food? 4.99. When we were told "small upcharge," I expected 1-2 bucks but was surprised to see 4.99. Free chips and salsa were gross - salsa had no chunks and tasted like tomato sauce. The chips were too thick and tasted like crackers for some reason. Tamales al-a-carte 11.99 + 4.99 (smother) + 4.99 (sour cream), so 22 bucks for 2 tamales. Enchiladas (2 per order) with rice and beans 19.95 + 4.99 because i wanted a different smother sauce. 25 bucks fot 2 enchiladas with beans and rice. 1 iced tea - 4.95. My son got an asada burrito smothered 19.95 for the burrito and 4.99 for the smother. 1 iced tea - 4.95 Ended up being $100 after tip for 2 people. The #1 best part or the entire experience was our amazing waitress. She was the only thing that kept us there and kept the overall score where it is at.

10/10 for me. They (wisely) do not use cilantro. The burrito supreme is enormous. I asked for a non alcoholic cocktail and I got this amazing strawberry peach frozen drink with some whip cream on top. It was outstanding. I think some might complain that the food was bland. It is not bland, it is mild. Nothing is overly spicy. Salsa is more tomatoe flavor with a small hint of chili compared to others.

Heard this was one of the best Mexican places, so I went to check it out. The portion size was amazing, but the server wasn't very knowledgeable about what they had to offer. If they have a private party booked, you won't be able to use the bathroom. Old and rustic.

Food was good. Service people were prompt and attentive. Portions were generous but should be based on pricing beans were good but pass on the rice. Inside is better than outside which was offputting to me but went in because it was recommended and I was satisfied.

I enjoyed Senor Manuel's Restaurant. I was with a group from my company. I got the seafood enchiladas which I thought were very good. The service was also quick and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed as well.
