Awesome experience to be there. Can be detailed as man made God (marvel). Not to be missed, marvellous place in Rio. View of Rio and sugar loaf mountain from the mountain top is wonderful. Statue is also visible from the coastline of Niteroi, from where you can see Sugar loaf mountain too. View after sunset is also wonderful, when the statue can be seen graced with white light. Amazing!!

Located at the top of the Corcovado hill is the Christ the Redeemer, one of the most sought after sights of Rio de Janeiro. It is the largest and most famous Art Deco sculpture in the world. To reach the monument, there is a pleasant train ride that, for twenty minutes, crosses the Atlantic Forest until it reaches the top of Corcovado. Three panoramic elevators and four escalators have been built to facilitate visitors' access. The scenery is spectacular, making the ride a must for visitors to the city. Inside the statue there is a narrow metal staircase that allows you to reach the 4 exits to the outside, 2 on each arm and one on the top of the head. The Brazilians have it as a symbol of love and fraternity. Perhaps this is taken this way by the posture that has the Christ with open arms, as a big hug. Tickets range from $13 to $18 depending on the season.

The statue is an essential visit while in Rio! You can reach this point by taking a funicular (train), a van, or by hiking. The main funicular station allows you to buy tickets in person using cash at a box office or using a credit card at one of the electronic kiosks on the station platform. They are timed tickets so pay attention to the time. Prices also vary by day! The van can be reserved for pickup at Ipanema, Copacabana, or at the visitor center near Christ the Redeemer. You'll have to get a ride up to the visitors center somehow if you choose that pickup location. You can hike here by starting at Parque Lage. It will take you a solid four hours uphill but it's free and you'll see wildlife and waterfalls along the way. Just bring water and prepare to sweat. At the top you'll find snacks and drinks. There's a restaurant and even a small chapel for prayer. There are wild monkeys so be careful and keep your distance. The Redeemer statue has multiple platforms. There is an amazing view of Rio from the lowest one. Try to be here at sunset for the best views!

One must not miss this attraction in Rio De Janeiro. A 20 min train ride to the top but due to the usual crowds even on weekday and off shoulder periods, you’ll have to wait for the electric train. As you board the train, try to take the seats on the right hand side for a better view of the bay. After you get off at the fourth and last stop, take an elevator to the base of the statue. Saves you about 6 flights of stairs. Finally, manoeuvre your way in the maddening crowd to take the best pics of the statue and the panoramic scenery.

Very surreal experience! This is a breathtaking attraction that pictures won’t do justice. The statue is an amazing sculpture in person and truly one of the new 7 wonders of the world. If you are ever in Rio, this is a MUST see!!! I recommend taking water bottles, sunglasses and sunscreen if you are fair skinned like me! There are also cool shops and snack bars to indulge in as well!

202 Nov.17 We took a train the first time up. The second time we hiked. Any popular tourist site I’ve visited, I’ve been blessed not to have crowds. Just go very early if you can. As one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, this massive 30-meter (100-foot) tall statue offers stunning views over Rio. They do have stairs to the top from the train station, but one can take an elevator and an escalator. There are also 2 chapels that can be visited. The train ride up is a must. It is was so iconic to arrive and marvel Christ the Redeemer. This site is a must see. Powerful visit and experience.

As one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, this massive 30-meter (~100-foot) tall statue offers stunning views over Rio. Note that it can get really crowded throughout the day, so I'd recommend taking the first cog train up here around 7:10 AM to get here when there's no one else here. They do have stairs to the top from the train station, but one can take an elevator and an escalator. There are also 2 chapels that can be visited.

Once again Rio did not fail to amaze me on this experience. What breathtaking views of all of Rio from the top! Also Christ the Redeemer is so big and pictures do it absolutely no justice. I am glad we went at 0900 am because it was not very crowded and we got up to the top extremely quick. Also the weather was in the 60’s so it was perfect. Enjoy the views, take as many photos as you can.

A must... breathtaking. I recommend going as part of a tour, if you're not from Rio. There's definitely a process, a series of queues to get up there. There are several gift shops and views above the clouds. There are lots of people up there, and monkeys 😊

I wasn't sure whether to go to the top to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio but I'm glad I did. We had heard a lot about how busy it gets so were unsure whether we'd enjoy it but we had a good time. We took the train up and got to the station at about 7am on a Friday and there was already a queue of about 20 people ahead of us. The first train leaves at 7:20am and I would recommend getting this one or one soon after because it gets very busy as the day goes on! I think going on a weekday also helps. The train journey up was only about 10 minutes and there were pockets of nice views and lots of trees and leaves - very comfortable way to go up. You can also drive up (or hike which we were told not to do due to sadly safety reasons) so have a look and see what works best for you. We got to the top and even though we were the first train up, I would say there were still a lot of people up there at that time! We still felt fairly comfortable but it definitely wasn't quiet. The Christ statue was impressive but what was even more amazing to me were the incredible views of Rio from the top. It's such a beautiful viewpoint on a clear day that I'd highly recommend it just for that. Worth a visit if you're in Rio!

It does have a historical significance. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Your presence around the tower will definitely bring you back in time and will make you appreciate the depth of history it contains. But in terms of structure, its just another old building. I might be wrong but there's not a lot of recreation around this place. Just a park, like any other. No offence intended though.

Definitely worth the ride (or hike) up. If you have the choice, go during the off season (winter) as it was crowded when I went on a weekday… I could only imagine a weekend summer visit. One more place happily marked off the bucket list. Oh and the views of RIO are spectacular as well

Take a train up, best experience, nice and steady. It stops few times, because of gorgeous landscape for passengers to enjoy a view ( apparently stops is important, because you will not see it from final destination), but be quick to make a pictures 🤪😄😜. Landmark breath taking!!! Rio is absolutely amazing, stunning, gorgeous city. Go on every mountain in Rio which are reachable and allowed to go. From Niteron city hill you will see all Rio and most beautiful sunset. Rio wait for me!!! Will come again for sure!!!:))))

Vale a pena a visita.

You have to visit if you’re in Rio, and it’s amazing enough to deserve 5 stars. My review is more of the small tactical things that may make your visit better: Arrive early. Before 8:30 early. I booked the 7:20 am train departure, but ended up going up the hill at 7:40. By the time I was leaving at 9am the line was well out to the street and trains going up the hill were standing room only. Bring a hat, the direct sun can be brutal! Bring water as well. If you go early beware the cafe is not open until 9am. Overall be prepared for the lines and rude people going to get shots for the Gram.

Interesting, I can see why people go. Today is still considered off-season, if what we experienced was small crowds I hate to see a full house. It’s not a religious site, so when people push you out of the way to take pictures you have to wonder what they do at their house of worship parking lot. Maybe getting there as it opens would be better. Positive would be the views and understanding of the concept of how it was built. We took a tour bus which took us to the hotel from there it was a bus to the top. If you’re in shape take the steps, if not take the elevator and escalator.

Nothing like a giant, 130-foot tall statue of Jesus, arms gracefully outstretched to keep a city as known for its taste for vice as Rio in line. VERY IMPRESSIVE *We were very impressed by the size of the statue you feel very small when you stand beside of it. The view from up there is fantastic. *You can see the Christ the Redeemer statue from most of Rio, standing tall watching over the city, but seeing it up close is a magical experience to see the intricate details.  It is the largest art deco statue in the world and has become both an icon of Rio and of Brazil.  One of the best things about seeing the statue up close is being able to share its magnificent view over the city

CHRIST the REDEEMER, I was saving these pictures to be able to post at this time. I always thought about the day that I would be able to see the CHRIST the REDEEMER. It was absolutely spectacular, I was not disappointed. For me, what was shocking, was how small the statue was. We could see it for miles and miles but when we actually got to go there we found out that it was only 30 meters tall. It always looks larger than life. The statue of Jesus Christ is at the summit of Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, it was built in 1931 and is known as the largest art deco style sculpture in the world. It was amazing and I’m so glad that we went at a off time because we got to see and meet people from all over the world experiencing this incredible statue. We experience such joy, people praying and taking in the feeling of being welcomed by his open arms. It literally reaches to heaven. When you get close so you can see lightning rods on the top of the arms and on the head of the statue. Back in 2007 Christ the Redeemer was chosen as one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

As the cable car winds and rattles from the base of the alto you take in the unique landscape. A band of drummers comes through the carriage their lyrics and beats put you in a timeless cultural void only felt in Rio. Exiting onto the the stone steps you realize the altitude and the raw beauty of the peninsula. It becomes apparent the main reason the Portuguese royal court transferred to Rio and were so besotted over two hundred of years ago. The statue soars impossibly high into the clouds, a true art deco monument representing perseverance and originality. Breathtaking.

Incredible landmark. You need to take a few shuttles here but it’s worth it (shuttles aren’t that long). An iconic statue for Brazil and there’s a TON of people. Place gets crowded with a ton of people trying to take good photos. Overall, a nice spot and is worth the visit.

Such an unique place! One of the top views of Rio de Janeiro. Unfortunately too crowded even after the pandemic. Don’t want to know how full it was before Covid-19 🙈 So no place to have a quiet minute to pause for a moment or to pray. Definitely a must-see on a perfect weather day ☀️

This is the most famous attraction in Brazil. You don’t need to buy tickets in advance and it’s best to take the vans up and down. The tram is cool but overcrowded and the line takes a long time, especially going back down. You can ask the nun or father at the bottom of the statue for a blessing. We went on a day when it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit and lots of sun for visibility. Bring sunscreen and lots of water. Especially for the trip up and down there is ZERO air conditioning in the tram packed full of people. I recommend 2 water bottles per person and insulate them to stay cold inside a back pack if you can. It’s better to go on a week day and early for less crowds

It's the symbol of Rio, the most photographed monument, the most beautiful view of Rio. The best option, in my opinion, it's to go up with the train ( need to buy the ticket in advance) during low season it's not that crowded. Make sure to go on a clear sunny day so you can appreciate the breathtaking view of this marvelous city.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful view of the city and the statue of Christ. A much nicer ride and cheaper than going up to see the statue. Great for relaxing and renewing energy. Bear in mind that the road is not always open. It usually closes for cars 🚘 on weekends. Worth knowing! IT'S CHRIST THE REDEEMER...NEED I SAY I MORE!? if you're in Rio you gotta do it. HIGHLY recommend hiking up. it's challenging but definitely do able. much safer than it used to be. there's a security guard at the bottom of the trail who gets your info and gives you the spiel just in case you need help. there are monkeys on the trail who are super cute and are kind of like homies in the jungle to cheer you on as you make your way up. train down back into town isn't too pricey and definitely worth it. pro tip: hike this bad boy and then get ice cream at the top. makes it that much better 🙏

Bucket list! One of the 7 wonders of the world and it was worth seeing! Buy tickets ahead of time and hire a guide! The lines are hours long and we went to the front with our guide! Check the weather before going because some of our friends went on a cloudy day, and they were unable to see the top of Christ. We went on a hot day, and it was HOT, but there are places to get food and drinks. It's worth going though!!!

For its name it's really cheap to visit, the best way is the cogwheel train from cosmo vehlo, if you come from copacabana or even the airport, you can buy the ticket from the automated machine. On the train you should sit on the left while going up for the best experience so you have all the time you need to admire this beatiful place. Pay attention at the weather but don't be too much exigent about it because sometime it give a different view or experience you'd love to get.

Of course, it was worth the visit when in Rio, I would recommend booking in advance and coming early as the train to go up takes some time. Or you can also take an Uber ride to the top. But I highly recommend the train as it's a very nice ride through the jungle with some views of the city. It might be packed at the top. We had a guide, which was helpful as he was able to jump the queue.

This is a return visit for me, this time with my family. We thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a few flights of stairs/steps at the top, highly recommended if you still have healthy knees. Else join the line for the elevator. The iPhone15 wide mode did the job perfectly and the 5x zoom let me take a close shot of Jesus. Love it! And of course, I have a lot to thank the weather for as well :)

Vincentian priest Pedro Maria Boss first suggested placing a Christian monument on Mount Corcovado in the mid 1850s to honor Princess Isabel, regent of Brazil and the daughter of Emperor Pedro II, but the project was not approved.[1] In 1889, the country became a republic, and due to the separation of church and state, the proposed statue was dismissed.[7] The Catholic Circle[clarification needed] of Rio made a second proposal for a landmark statue on the mountain in 1920.[8] The group organized an event called Semana do Monumento ("Monument Week") to attract donations and collect signatures to support the building of the statue. The organization was motivated by what they perceived as Godlessness in the society. Donations came mostly from Brazilian Catholics, who comprised a large majority of the population.[4] The designs considered for the "Statue of the Christ" included a representation of the Christian cross, a statue of Jesus with a globe in his hands, and a pedestal symbolizing the world.[9] The statue of Christ the Redeemer with open arms, a symbol of peace, was chosen. Local engineer Heitor da Silva Costa designed the statue. French sculptor Paul Landowski created the work.[10] In 1922, Landowski commissioned fellow Parisian Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida, who studied sculpture at the Fine Arts Conservatory in Bucharest and in Italy.[11] A group of engineers and technicians studied Landowski's submissions and felt building the structure of reinforced concrete (designed by Albert Caquot) instead of steel was more suitable for the cross-shaped statue. The concrete making up the base was supplied from Limhamn, Sweden.[12][13] The outer layers are soapstone, chosen for its enduring qualities and ease of use.[5] Construction took nine years, from 1922 to 1931 and cost the equivalent of US$250,000 (equivalent to $3,600,000 in 2019) and the monument opened on October 12, 1931.[5][6] During the opening ceremony, the statue was to be lit by a battery of floodlights turned on remotely by Italian shortwave radio inventor Guglielmo Marconi, stationed 9,200 kilometres (5,700 mi) away in Rome but because of bad weather, the lights were activated on-site.[8] In October 2006, on the 75th anniversary of the statue's completion, Archbishop of Rio, Cardinal Eusebio Oscar Scheid, consecrated a chapel, named after Brazil's patron saint—Our Lady of the Apparition, under the statue, allowing Catholics to hold baptisms and weddings there.[6] Lightning struck the statue during a violent thunderstorm on February 10, 2008, causing some damage to the fingers, head and eyebrows. The Rio de Janeiro state government initiated a restoration effort to replace some of the outer soapstone layers and repair the lightning rods on the statue. Lightning damaged it again, on January 17, 2014, dislodging a finger on the right hand.[14][15][16][17] In 2010, a massive restoration of the statue began. Work included cleaning, replacing the mortar and soapstone on the exterior, restoring iron in the internal structure, and waterproofing the monument. Vandals attacked the statue during renovation, spraying paint along the arm. Mayor Eduardo Paes called the act "a crime against the nation". The culprits later apologized and presented themselves to the police.[18][19][20] In reference to Brazil striker Ronaldo's usual goal celebration of both arms outstretched, the Pirelli tyre company ran a 1998 commercial in which he replaced the statue while in an Inter Milan strip.[21] The commercial was controversial with the Catholic Church.[22]

We were planning to take the train up the mountain but were approached by a sales lady when we got out of the Uber. She offered us a van service that would take us on top of the mountain and include two additional viewpoint before the final stop for R50 each person round trip, so we agreed to it. The van service took us to the middle point with a great view of Rio! Then it drove us the visitor center. Since the van service runs the whole day, we were able to take the van back afterwards too.

One of the major landmarks in Brazil, though quite overly touristic as expected. The easiest way to get to the top is to get the train. The other method of getting two transfers up is a massive hassle and in my opinion not worth the marginal saving. The views are fantastic and breathtaking. There are lots of touristic concessions but these can easily be ignored to enjoy the experience.

Beautiful location. Right inside a protected reserve. Very clean and nicely maintained too. However the day I went, it was over-crowded. No place to stand and take a decent photo of anything. Considering that Covid-19 still lurks around, it was a bit scary. Besides, the souvenir shops are not selling quality stuff out there. I've been here before and seen better days. All said, this should still be in the bucket list. Must see at least once.

The views are indeed amazing. We hiked up from parque lage. However, the existing infrastructure is a major letdown considering the price (~R$50). It’s crowded, the little space available is filled with queues (for the restrooms, to take selfies, for the restaurants, the vans, the tram, etc etc etc). There is a tiny bathroom (considering the amount of people) NO WATER FOUNTAIN (you need to queue to buy water), and no resting spots (like a bench on a side path like you see in the sugarloaf park). I hope the ticket price helps fund biodiversity efforts of the national park which we loved hiking in.

From his vantage point on Corcovado mountain, the magnificent statue of Cristo Redentor watches over the people of Rio de Janeiro. This impressive 30-meter-tall statue with its arms spread wide in a gesture of welcome has been one of Rio’s main attractions since 1931. Rio de Janeiro’s harbor is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. From the top of the 709-meter Corcovado, you can enjoy panoramic views of this stunning sight, including Sugarloaf Mountain and the city that offers amazing photo opportunities. The best way to reach the top is to take a ride through the forests of the Tijuca National Park on the 3.5-kilometer Corcovado Rack Railway.

This has always been a destination that I wanted to see. I finally did, and in 2023, I will say it's worth it 100%. It's a short ride to the top. Get their early. I recommend buying the fast pass ticket (skip the line). There will be lots of people, and trying to get a picture might be tough. The staff is nice and very helpful. If you get a chance get the experience yourself

Full with tourists and very difficult to get out once you arrive. Long queues and expensive tickets just to see a statue that -I can assure you- will be much smaller than you imagine. It’s a must go location in rio, but they need to find a way of making it more enjoyable and less stressful.

This is an honest overview for a first-time visitor stuck in line during rush hour and peak summer heat. This is of course a must-see when visiting Rio, however the experience can be quite miserable and painfully slow if you don’t plan properly. The drop off site is for the train station (more like a tram) up through the forest to the monument. The best time to go is right when it opens and it is best to buy tickets online ahead. If you show up after 10:30am, you will wait in a spiraling queue just to buy a ticket for the train up to the site. The line can take 1.5 hours just to purchase a ticket. There will be a person going through the line with a card machine to sell tickets or if the person doesn’t make it to you, you can buy a ticket at the box office near where the train boards. Once you get the ticket, there is still a long wait to get on the train. There are only about two trains operating and they fit maybe 75 people. The train takes 20 minutes to get to Christ the Redeemer. The monument is packed with people, shoulder to shoulder. I’d say 20-30 minutes at the monument is more than adequate for some nice photos and to look at the view, with so many people it’s not enjoyable to be there. During rush hour it could take another hour to hour and a half to wait for the train and get back to ground level. All in all, during peak rush hour, allocate about 4-5 hours from start to finish for this experience. Opting for a van or private cab to the top would probably be more ideal if it’s crowded. Tl;dr: Book ahead and go early otherwise it will be a long wait! The train system doesn’t feel very efficient, however there are also thousands of people coming every day to see it, which this really can’t accommodate well.

I only can give 3 stars. The transportation takes a long time to arrive on top, you need to change at least twice the bus transfer. I recommend to buy the bus ticket at the bottom of the way, on the spot. is cheaper and guaranteed. Up there is mega crowded, being a place of great beauty and spirituality, I would have expected more... The place itself is really really beautiful! The views and the statue of Christ is spectacular! I recommend it but be patient and understanding with the crowds!

There is a statue of Christ established in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is considered as the second largest art deco statue in the world The statue is 39.6 meters long and 30 meters wide with its 9.5 meter base. It weighs 635 tonnes and is located 700-meters from the top of the Corcovado Mountains in Tijuca Forest National Park, overlooking the entire city. It is one of the tallest statues of its kind in the world. This statue has become an identity of Rio and Brazil as a symbol of Christianity.

The experience itself is quite nice. Theres a spectacular view of the city and good pictures with the Christ. The only part that made this experience a bit more stressful was the lack of covid restrictions. There were huge lines to get everywhere. Tickets should be sold online to avoid a huge group of people lining up inside or AT LEAST only allow one person per group inside so there isnt that many people.

A very impressive statue at an impressive location and definitely a must see in Rio: as part of the 7 new wonders of the world! However: there were way too many people! You could almost not walk to the far side of the lookout platform, let alone take good pictures. It would be better if they could somehow restrict the number of people at the statue. In addition: make sure you bring water/drinks with you as we had to wait in line for 40 minutes to buy drinks at the only bar close to the statue. It is recommended to buy your tickets for the train online in advance (if you manage: we did not manage to create an account online…) Also make sure you go on a clear day: the surrounding views of the city are amazing! If you prepare well for your visit, and keep in mind you will share the statue with many, many other people, then it is definitely still a very enjoyable activity.

The monument that stands on top of the Corcovado mountain was completed in 1931. It's 30 meters tall which is 2/3 of the Liberty Statue in New York. Also there's a small chapel in the base. When planning a visit make sure the entire monument is visible from the city: otherwise you won't get the magnificent views from above. There are several ways to get to the top: I suggest taking the train. Sometimes the ticketing lines might be lengthy, but in our case there was none. If you want to take a good picture, it's probably better to come in the morning when the sun is in front of the monument. Be ready to wait for a good photo opportunity as most of the people will try to take a picture with the monument in the background. Can't describe the views from the top: you gotta see them yourself. Well worth the train ticket price. Don't miss.

If you are visiting Rio, you definitely need to make a trip to see Christ the Redeemer. It's a short Uber ride or you can book many of the tours that also provides transportation. We booked a tour with Trip Advisor for $44 that included transportation, admission to Chris the Redeemer and the site tours. Monica was our tour guide and she did an amazing job and spoke 3 languages.

Magical and bucket list experience seeing this, and even better once the sun came out- when we arrived it was very misty/cloudy. It's approximately 20mins on the train from the bottom up to the top- recommend that you sit on the right hand side facing upwards for the best views, and left side facing forwards on the way down. The train gets packed very quickly and no formation of getting seats, people just line up and push in. The services do run on a strict schedule. It's alot cooler up the top, several souvenir shops, places to get drinks, lot's of viewing areas of Rio up the top, also plenty of stairs- recommended to take some water. Please feel free to follow me on here, like my reviews and share my profile with your friends.

Be prepared lots of stairs to climb. The last two floors have an escalater. Look for the elevator though... Didn't see it until coming down. Lots and lots of people, I couldn't get past them without a struggle. Many taking up space on the ground to get that perfect picture view😬. Come on people, take in the view with your eyes, it is absolutely breath taking! Bucket list? DON'T THINK TWICE!!! A must!👍🏼

Such a beautiful landmark from Rio it is so much bigger in person but I recommend you go because it lets you see a beautiful view. One thing I do have to add is that it gets really hot and people will charge you a lot more money at the top of the landmark rather than the bottom. Make sure you either bring a fan, sunglasses, and a hat. If you can wear comfortable clothes and comfy shoes.

First of all, still no second coming. Kind of a let down right? Ok but seriously, jokes aside, the statue itself is definitely 5/5. Beautiful, with great views, a must-see, fully recommended. What makes it 2/5 though is the staff. The whole place is a tourist trap. First they try to make money of you trying to sell you tickets literally 15meters from the ticket booth, looking very official, but having double prices. The local “security” boss just looks at it. Read some other reviews that these guys actually cooperate. DON’T buy anything unless you’re at the booth. Then they want to take a photo of you standing in front of a green screen. Those museum/stadium tour kind of pics as if you’re standing right in front of Jesus. Which they print up at the hill (whether you like it or not, awful waste of photo-paper), and try to make you buy it. A guy next to me had to turn them down multiple times, as unsuccessful employee was replaced by a more skillful one. DON’T let them take any pictures of you (unless you want one 😄) - you’ll save yourselves a lot of “no” and a bad feeling when coming back down. After getting down, some other guys try to get you to their restaurant of course. But this one is kind of expected and easy to avoid. The thing, the place, the view is of course a must see. Don’t miss it. But be careful. It’s top 3 Rio experience. People raking in commissions are everywhere, waiting for you to slip.

Hello guys how are you all , If you have a credit card, there is a special terminal, where you can choose a language of your choice to navigate. The process is smooth and fast. In addition, there is a place to get some water, ice cream and souvenirs and then you must wait for your train. If there are seats left on a previous train, they would let you in too, ahead of the session you've paid for. On the way up, sit on the right for better views. Prepare some cash, as there will be a stop, where you can buy some water. And the train driver will get one for free then too. This is Brazil. Once you get to the top, a) there are several souvenir shops, b) two cafes, where you can just have a drink and admire the view, or have some food too, and c) mind your steps. There are quite a few of them on the way up. There's a lift too, in fact, 3 of them, but the waiting line is huge. Once you get to the top, you will be surrounded by a crowd, so it's better to have a local friend, who would navigate you for better views and perspectives. There are some guards hiding in the shadow of Christ, so the place up there is very safe. There are two stops for the train, in case you arrive by taxi or hike up there. Do check the guidelines for safety,i hope this review and photos will helpful for many peoples if it click like thank you

Chúa Kitô Cứu Thế (tiếng Bồ Đào Nha: Cristo Redentor, phát âm tiếng Bồ Đào Nha: [ˈkɾistu ʁedẽˈtoʁ], phương ngôn địa phương: [ˈkɾiʃtu ɦedẽjˈtoɦ]) là một bức tượng Chúa Giêsu tại Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. (Translated by Google) Very crowded and crowded, but beautiful. Very difficult to take a picture of those postcards that we see in tourist advertisements. The ticket costs around $ 60 reais (with money changer), because if it were to wait it would be 3 hours. But if you go to Rio de Janeiro it is essential to visit Christ the Redeemer. Tip: go from UBER to Cristo is much cheaper if you want to save money, don't pay a fortune in transfers or taking the train from Corcovado, unnecessary. (Original) Muito cheio e lotado, porém bonito.

(Translated by Google) The location is beautiful. However, the journey to Christ is a little slow. Two vans, row. I suggest going in low season (even so it is a very popular tour, and there are people who stay there at the Christ just to watch the sunset from above, as they say it is beautiful). I just believe that the van and the entrance could have a reduced value for Brazilians. Expensive ride. Passeio caro.

Without a doubt, a unique and unforgettable memory. Fully recommended experience. We bought the tickets above, with a discount for being young. We got on Uber and we went down negotiating with a taxi driver from the area for 70 soles, taking us to Cabana glass and stopping at a very nice viewpoint in the area. I travel to many countries and amazing places. But going to Christ the Redeemer was until now the most beautiful place I ever been!! The Christ is incredible just to think the work to have something like that built on top of that mountain!! The views are outstanding. If I could I would have stayed there many hours just relaxing. It was something arranged with the cruise line, that we paid for (Coral Princess)and no regrets for not having to stand in lines.

One of the world's most famous attractions, this place is bound to be very crowded. To get the best experience take up the train (not the van), take the earliest scheduled ride (7.30 am although our 7.30 train didn't actually get up until almost 9 ). Prebook your voucher online at least a few weeks in advance. If you come up in the first train you'll have the area mostly to yourself (and 30 or 40 other people) who came up with you. Within half an hour it gets very crowded, and much harder to take any pics. #vero #travel #wanderlust

It was a great experience. However it can take a long while to get there and can be crowded. The view atop can also be obscured by cloud cover so go on a clear day. I would recommend the tram over the shuttle buses. You should also uber to the tram station. Enjoy it. Rio!

Beautiful and massive statue that will take your breath away. Around it you can buy nice souvenirs however for a premium price. I would suggest to do thy in the city. It is impossible to take a photo alone am because there is so many people but around Rio there is plenty of iconic views of Christ The Redeemer.

Even if you’re not religious, you need to see the statue of Christ The Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The immense structure is an incredible combination of artistic creativity and ingenious engineering. From on top of Mount Corcovado, the staggering 38-meter tall statue looms over the city below, arms outstretched in benediction. But it’s not until you get up close, you’ll realize just how big the statue is and you’ll start to wonder how they ever got it up there in the first place. It is that colossal.

The most cool thing from here is no the statue of crist but the city's view, it's crazy beautiful this city and you can see it all from here. I recommend it but beware of people, there's A LOT of people always and we'll you know, COVID is still with us. Also, I did the hike from parque lage, suuper good trail and beautiful nature, recommend too. BONUS: I went on a helicopter flight to see Río from the sky and it was so worth it, definitely recommend if it includes Crist the redeemer.

One of Brazil's most iconic symbols, the Art Deco styled statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro is one of the seven wonders of the world. The credit of building the statue goes to Paul Landowski, a French sculptor. The Romanian sculptor, Gheorghe Leonida, was responsible for fashioning the face. The sculpture cost a total of $250,000 which was donated by individuals from in and around Brazil. Christ the Redeemer is 98 feet tall and has a 26-feet tall pedestal. Its arms stretch 92 feet wide. The 635 metric ton statue, made of soapstone and concrete, is located atop the 2,300 feet tall Corcovado mountain. The construction of the statue was initiated in 1922 and completed by 1931. It is the largest sculpture of the art deco style in the world. However, it is not the world's largest Christ statue. Couples can wed in the chapel at the base of the statue as it was declared a sanctuary in 2006 by the Catholic Church. The statue has been featured in various Hollywood films.

I truly enjoyed my time, including the insane journey on the cog railway, at Christ the Redeemer. It’s labeled a world wonder for a reason, and especially if you arrive early or late enough to eschew the crowds, your senses will be amazed at the scenery and scale of everything. But. But. The weather!! PLEASE check the weather very, very carefully before going. I tragically made this mistake on my visit. The fog and clouds obscured most of the statue and all the city views for the entire time I was up there. I waited and waited for hours, but the fog would simply not subside, and if it did, it only cleared for two seconds before the fog swept the observation deck again. So ultimately I only took a selfie and some photos of the base and arms of Christ, all with the saddest fog in the background. Sigh. Don’t make the same mistake I made! Choose a clear, sunny day to visit. Nonetheless, the experience of being so close to the statue and the journey up the mountain on the train was amazing. Next visit, I will go on a much, much better day!

It was great experience visiting such a soothing place. Never take any help from local 🕵 agents. They will take undue advantage of you. Buy your train ticket directly for the round trip and get on the train with no hestitation. Once you reach on top take the stairs and pray in church behind the statue. Always wait for clouds to clear and you will get the view. All the wait was worth the view.

Great place, time and view! Suggestion: Check the weather before getting the tickets online. I think it is much better to get the tickets presencial. In fact, u "can" re arranged in case it is cloudy!

How best to summarize this overly sensationalized landmark? It’s a wildly overcrowded tourist trap littered with selfie sticks and souvenir kiosks every 20 feet. Whatever enjoyment there is to be had of the statue or surrounding views is completely disrupted by the swaths of people clamoring for photos at every overlook. Imagine a theme park with no rides and only lines: this is it. There are better views to be had of Rio with less hassle. By all means go and judge yourself, but I’m confident you’ll be in agreement afterward.

Very nice view. Bedore you go check the weather. It is worth to go only when the sky is clear. Price for adult is 87.5 Real by train. I recommend to come before 0900 to buy ticket . Then you do not wait long time in line.

  • 5/5 Andreas S. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely worth the visit. Take the railroad rather than drive to get the full feel. The peak is always crowded and everyone is taking their pics from the front of the statue. The view is amazing as you can see all of Rio.

It's a must see attraction in Rio de Janeiro and we enjoyed our visit even though the place was packed with people. We took a van (122 reais round trip) from Copacabana to Corcovado. At Paneiras we changed to the park'd van that took us up to the Mirador.

Its a must visit for Rio visitors. Things to keep in mind when visiting Christ de redeemer:- 1. Never ever use meter taxi, always use Uber ! I was fooled and I paid 400 Brazilian real from my hotel to corcovado mountains and back ! Next day i went to the same place by uber, it cost me 25 brazilian real , and the same amount for coming back ! So yeah i have been fooled heavily. 2. Never ever use any guide if alone, doesn't matter how much he convinces or forces you Directly go to ticket counter, buy tickets which will cost 55 brazilian real including your taxi fare from ticket booking area to the top of mountains And please keep your tickets as well as receipt safe !, Tickets will be checked at top also ! Since i was in extremely hurry because of my work thing, i paid guide 150 real and i don't know where he went, he vanished like a magician. On reaching the top unfortunately i lost my ticket so they denied me entry and my ticket receipt was also with the guide, so no any help came out. Again i went down, purchased tickets on my own and visited the top. 3. They don't take any other currency, so either have brazilian reals or carry international transactions enabled Visa cards. 4. Its one of the 7 wonders of the world, so much international footfalls are there inspite of that very less staff knows English so if you don't know Portuguese better install an offline English to Portuguese translator app. View from the top was worth it specially if you're coming all the way from India.

One of the best place to observe the whole Rio De Janeiro. You can see the copa cabana and ipanema beach from there. Also this is nice place to observe the race course and the domestic airport. To get there you need a guide. Otherwise it is sometimes difficult. There are specific visiting time on different days. You will be transported to point by minibus and then you can walk down the staircase or you can take the lift. Usually there is a long que if you want to take a photo with the statue.

Stunning view, directions are very clear and the Paineiras center is relatively organized. The monument was recently restored and looks really much better than the last time I was here. Very gentle and nice staff, 10/10! However, it is really too crowded by the weekends! It can be really hot out there too. I think they could also have cheaper prices for students! And please, DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS!

Of course, it's a tourist trap, but you can't go to Rio de Janeiro and not go up to Christ the Redeemer! Amazing views over the city, unmissable photo opportunities

  • 5/5 Harlin Miller J. 9 months ago on Google
Truly an amazing experience. The views from the top and the journey up was amazing. Definitely block off a half a day to visit. If you can buy tickets in advance, I’d advise you to do so. This way you skip the ticket lines. Also if you get the fast pass, which was only $20 more, you can have priority boarding and skip the lines going up to the statues and coming back some. It was well worth it! Once you get to Sugarloaf, there’s plenty to see and do. There’s a few places to eat and shop, as well as numerous photo opportunities. Go on a day that’s not cloudy or foggy, so you can see not only the statue clearly but also the view of Rio from above. My friends and I ended up walking to Sugarloaf which took about 40mins from where we traveled from in Rio. You could easily Uber close by and walking right in.

An inspiring view and incredible presence, even for the agnostic. Worth the effort to get here. The crowds of people are, while not unexpected, a little off putting as everyone elbows for room to do their own selfie. That aside, great experience!

  • 5/5 Luis C. 4 months ago on Google
Absolutely amazing. The view is incredible and this is one experience that you have to do at least once in your lifetime. It is recommended that you purchase your tickets beforehand online and also you should get there deliver your check in 30 minutes before schedule time if you are planning on taking the train. There are other options where you can take the vans that go up the hill which is typically part of a city tour or if you prefer something more unique ans special you can schedule a helicopter flight which starts at about $60 USD depending on how many minutes up to $170.00 USD for about 25 min

  • 5/5 Katarina B. 4 months ago on Google
You have to go early to avoid the crowds and the heat. It's fantastic. The Christ has a deeper meaning for me than just a 'must have' photo from Rio.

Wow- what an experience! Best view in Rio- special place to see this beautiful city! We took amazing cog rail train up and enjoyed the view to the top. We got fantastic picture and enjoyed espresso at the cafe. Monkeys around are fun to watch near the top. This is a once in a lifetime place and must do if in Rio!

  • 5/5 Josip 4 months ago on Google
An unmissable attraction if you come to Rio de Janeiro. Also suitable for people with disabilities, you take a tram or train to the top and then you have an elevator and escalators to the statue itself. A great majestic view and a unique experience. Must visit

  • 5/5 Marius T. 3 months ago on Google New
Definitely the best view over Rio de Janeiro! Despite being very busy, the view definitely is worth it. You will have to take a train from the bottom towards the top, from descending the train you can take an elevator or just climb the stairs to the top. From that point you can see almost the entire city. Up there are coffee shops and gift shops so you can spend some good time.

  • 5/5 Anastasia Z. 3 months ago on Google New
Crazy place, you get to the top with the Cordovado Train, then you can go up with the stairs or the elevator to get directly behind the Christ. Once you are there, there’s an incredible view of Rio and the giant sculpture together, breathtaking! The place is really really crowded, it’s hard to take a picture alone, or a decent picture anyway; even getting closer to the balcony to see Rio is kind of difficult because all the people as stuck there and you have to wait to take their place! Besides all of this the area is just unbelievable, everyone has to go there once in lifetime.

We came, we saw, we conquered! What an amazing experience to get to see this in person! We unexpectedly bumped into a tour company at the bottom of the hill that somehow convinced us to pay them double to bring us up. I was so sure we were being scammed initially, but it turned out to be the best decision we could make. We did have to worry about parking our car because our tour guide chauffeured us everywhere and we didn’t have to wait in any lines because of his company pass! He also took the most amazing pictures of us. Thanks Weslyon for a wonderful experience!
