Government maintenance is lacking here. Consider hiring a guide; otherwise, you'll just be looking at animals with no context. Guide rates are ₹250 per hour for groups under 10 and ₹300 per hour for over 10 people. Even with a guide, opt for an e-vehicle ticket for a less tiring and comprehensive zoo experience. Instead of a counter ticket, scan for an e-ticket outside the ticket building. Guides may ask ₹500; show them the government rates on the website to negotiate. E-vehicle tickets may have queues but are worth it. Unfortunately we didn't get safari tickets due to crowd. The tour takes 1.30-2 hours; carry a water bottle and eat beforehand as outside food isn't allowed. Remember your cap and goggles after 11 am. The diverse animal collection is fascinating with a guide. Closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly. Entry fee-50/person(adult),for kids below 5 years 10/_ Safari-65/person(non-ac), 100/person(ac). E-vehicle 80/-

Nandankanan Zoological park is absolutely unexpected what I was thinking before. It is full of Tigers, Lions, Leopard and other wild animals. 💚 💚 💚 Here white tiger and dark black strip tiger are also watched for the first time. It is really good to bring kids here they will enjoy it here a lot. For sure it will take half of the day when you plan to visit. It has a toy train, safari, Ropeway and boat ride to enjoy. for personally we enjoyed this trip well, It's 100% worthy trip. Safari will give you another level of goosebumps when you enter in the zone. There are 4 zone of safari (Tiger, Lion, Bear and Herbivores) it will take around of 1 hours of trip including the wait time. There is one giraffe 🦒 only which is very sad to see and no zebra 🦓 we saw there. 🦛 🦛 Hippo area was quite impressive a big water logging to stay. Inside 🚻🚺 restroom, clock ⏰ room and water drinking 🚰 facility is available almost at many places. Fully area is covered with the Greenery. Entrance Ticket cost is 50/Person Inside train safari is 80/Person Jungle Safari is 100/person in AC Buses. Birds cage is not maintained properly, Organisation has to be taken care of them properly I hope next time when I'll visit it'll be look good. Snake 🐍 zone is there but unfortunately we are unable to see because of lack of time. Very highly recommended this place to enjoy your full day. If you're with your kid must visit they will enjoy the full day many activities too do here.

One of the best Zoo's of India. Spread in almost 500 acres of land. Very well maintained, spacious and greenery. Different species of Tigers, monkeys, lions and reptiles are found here along with Giraffe, Chimpanzees and birds. Purified Cold Drinking water and Toilets are available all around the zoo for the comfort of visitors. Jungle safari and trains are also available for adventures. Electric vehicles for those who can't walk down the zoo specially for senior citizens. I personally had a lovely experience and would surely recommend this place to visit both for adults and children.

Not recommended to visit during summer as the area is huge and walking under the sun will be tiring but still we enjoyed our safari and spent some good time here. The Zoo is well maintained and has enough exotic species like the White Tiger, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard and Lion. Zoo also has large variety of crocodiles, reptiles, bears and giraffes.Entry fee is Rs 50/ per person and for safari is Rs 60/- per person. There is a battery-operated vehicle which makes travelling easy within zoo.

Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar is renowned for its diverse collection of wildlife and natural beauty. Visitors often appreciate the well-maintained enclosures, informative signage, and the park's commitment to conservation. The zoo's efforts in breeding endangered species, especially white tigers, have garnered positive attention. My Last experience was incredible.. I visited alone and enjoy very much.

Amazing experience for kids. You can experience jungle safari in a bus 🚐 as well as visit the caged animals in a zoo. You are not allowed to carry food items or. anything in plastics in the premises as they might cause harm to the animals. Children love to see the Orangotan and monkeys jumping from the trees out of nowhere. Was amazed to see white, yellow and black tigers. Good food at an OTDC restaurant. Overall a great experience.

Nice zoo... Good safari... Did not find any tiger in tiger safari... Also if you book electric cart rides instead of walking, they ask you to hurry up and don't even stop at all the gates.. missed out on a couple of things but overall nice experience

It's a nice place to visit if you are nature lover. Personally I am not a fan of Zoo, don't support the idea. However, this place is well maintained in terms of cleanliness. Spread in almost 500 acres of land. Very well maintained, spacious and greenery. If you plan to visit on weekends, plan early by 9AM, later in the day it becomes very crowded. But overall very nice.

That was a very good experience, you can see almost all animals here! The main problem is with the geography! You can use the map for complete guidance. There is a safri ride at the end portion, where the ticket prices are 65/- for non AC and 100 for AC. The entry ticket fare is of 50 rupees. Battery vehicles are available inside, and cost you around 450 per person. By walk it will take about 8km all around and 4.5 hours. Hope you will not miss any of those animals!

You have to experience boating, ropeway rides, and safari❣️ Entry fee: ₹50 per adult Safari: ₹65 (non-AC), ₹100 (AC) per person. Try to book tickets online through their official website. It was an amazing experience. The museum is full of relics, art, and many more which relates to our history as well as our culture and civilization. You can easily spend an evening over here. After this Pandemic, this was an awesome experience for me. The staff and volunteers were polite and helpful. Hygiene protocol was been maintained. All were wearing masks.

This is a place where history comes alive. The grandeur of the museum building alone is enough to invoke a feeling of awe. The collection of fossils is highly impressive. However, I feel that they should have guides here, since most of the fossils look like simple rocks, and for laypeople like me its nearly impossible to tell them apart. For example, a sign at the invertebrate gallery says that there is a fossil flower inside a particular showcase, but I couldn't find it there. Besides, it looked like nobody has even dusted the showcases in quite a long time. Putting the minor nitpicks aside, this museum is truly amazing. I couldn't recommend visiting here strongly enough.

Nice Place. Since I Visited During Festival It Was Quite Rush Out There. I Literally Waited For More Than 1hr At Parking Plus More Than 1hr From Buying Tickets To Entering To Zoo... I Would Recommend If You Are Coming During Festive Seasons Please Book Your Tickets In Advance. Otherwise It's Very Entertaining Place For Kids. You Will Get Different Species Of Animals From Reptiles To Mammals Everything. However The Sections Of Animals Are Decreasing Day By Day

We visited the Zoo in the afternoon. It was actually hot and humid weather, and the animals were also bit affected by the heat. We went for the safari and saw mostly Peacocks and Deer. 🦌 The guide we hired was nice and friendly and helped us a lot to locate the animal cages and kept us entertaining throughout the whole trip. Overall a nice experience. 🌞

For me, visiting this zoo leads to a good day! There is a different parking spot for the vehicle and it is charged. You need to buy tickets and show them at the entrance gate to get an entry, also you'll encounter a large crowd at the ticket counters. Tickets for individuals as well as for the safari guide are available. Since it consists of so much of diversities that are put together, that includes various animals, birds, and reptiles; you'll not find it boring at all to explore this place with your friends and family. The environment provided to the respective creatures somehow mimics their natural habitat or the wild, as well as their basic needs, are being fulfilled. The creatures where they are enclosed are quite as natural as that of the wild including a room-like space.

It is one of the good zoo in India. Good points 1.The safari is very good here. 2.You'll enjoy the rope way ride and boat ride. 3.Now they have free parking Bad points 1.Now it doesn't have many animals as it was earlier. 2.The cells for animals are well maintained. 3.Many cells are empty 4.The rules are good related to plastics and food items but should be made more strict. 5.The place should be made more cleaner and maintained well. Suggestions Don't use guides, as they will make you hurry and you may not enjoy your own time. Now they take ₹200 for 2 hours.

Nandankanan Zoological Park. The name is enough for the review 😁😜. Beautiful and great place. Great place for bring your children. They can learn so many things. Various types of animals we can see there. At this time 2022 the ticket price for adults is ₹50 and for children is ₹10 and for foreigners is ₹100. I'm adding lots of pictures of the zoo. Note: 1) Any kind of plastics are not allowed! 2) If you have plastic water bottle, you have to issue "token" by giving ₹50. After visit the zoo, you can show the token to the authority and you will be returned that ₹50. 3) Don't disturb the animals, don't try to feed them.....etc 4) Keep the place clean, use dustbin. 5) Every Monday this zoo remains closed. The new attraction is "I ❤️ Nandankanan", you can click your photo with those giant letters. After buying ticket the security will check everybody and everything. The place is really so good. Thank you 😊

The zoo has a number of Royal Bengal Tigers, White Tigers, Leopards, Lions, Giraffe, range of reptiles and crocs in reptile world, nocturnal animals and many more The zoo also facilitates safari experience (though safari world is not very big in size). You can book your your entry tickets online to enjoy hassle-free check in. Electric vehicles are available on chargeable basis. Overall a great place to enjoy wildlife.

Since my initial visit to this zoo in 2010, it has, I believe, seen significant development. However, there may yet be a need for improvement in areas such as cleanliness and visitor transportation throughout the zoo. These days, animals are far healthier. The unfathomable amount of individuals that visit Nandankana astounds me. It's a good location, after all, and well worth the money and time you spend. You and your family will have a great time. Making a reservation in advance gives you additional benefits when you visit the zoo.

This is really my favourite place. Many types of animals, birds and other species are available here. Safari car, toy train are available for visit and explore the beautiful park. This park is covered a very big area. The service of the park is very good and systematic. I really love this place. It's a ideal place for Photography and a Educational place for children. Food canteen is available in the park. I really love this place. And wish to come here again in future.

Well worth a visit, just be patient - the entrance to the market square is set back and very busy, but be patient as the real attraction is at the end. It is also very convenient to bring a car with a battery because it is very large. It was amazing to see tigers, white tigers and lions. Tiger safaris are also good and giraffes can also be seen. Be sure to hire a guide to help you navigate the large zoo. Proof can be obtained once you receive your tickets. There is a famous white tiger in the zoo and it is worth seeing. Of course, they have ferocious lions and many tigers. Lots of animals - you decide what to see and let the guide know. It takes at least two hours to walk through the zoo at a brisk pace and see all the animals. A must-see attraction! ! ! Overall, my recommendation is - spend time in Nandankanan by yourself and support the conservation efforts. It is a relatively small zoo, especially if you have been to zoos in India or overseas in bigger cities.

A nice site to visit. This zoo is really large. There are many different animals to view here, and you may go on a safari tour inside the zoological garden. There is also a lake inside the zoo where you may take a boat ride and a ropeway ride. Nice spots to sit and experience the quiet. It is around 17 kilometers from Bhubaneshwar railway station. Apart from taxis, almost all buses stop there. Open Tuesday through Sunday. Close on-- Monday Entry fee: 50/- Rs. Safari fee: 65/- Rs (without AC), 100/- (AC) 1. Ticket prices are high as you have to pay  charge for each location independently. 2. Safari is awful. My advice is not to go for it. Waste of money.

Mostly beautiful place for both adults and children. This is more than zoo, hence definately a worth visit. Entry Fee is Rs. 40 per adult. Don't fall prey to guides, they would say Rs. 300/- guide will include everything, but take my word it would become so different in the long run. If you are not confident with long walking you can take battery vehicle which would circle you the whole park for Rs. 80/- per person. Other than that don't feed the monkeys which would roam around freely, if you don't tease them nor will they do so. Best time to visit is winter. Get set and go and enjoy the jungle feel.

Great experience! The building is huge and beautiful, so many parts and sections are there, a perfect place for family outing cause the place is very educational and full of knowledge and art, in the museum washroom, canteen and drinking water facilities are there, nearest metro station is esplanade metro station and nearest bus stop is esplanade bus stop, parking is available and free and the ticket price as per now is 50rs. for adults and 20rs. for children's. If you are planning to visit the museum on holidays or weekend with family then i would suggest you to avoid the long queue book the tickets online from their official website, also definitely visit the one of the main attraction that is the Egypt section.

    1. Amazing place. 2. According to me, visit during winters, because in summers, a lot of animals rest in there shelters to avoid the day heat. 3. Very spread out place, difficult to see everything in one day if you are walking. 4. If you don't want to walk, you can simply ride a paid electric vehicle. 5. You can also get your own guide. 6. Be careful of the 🐒, they can snatch you items. 7. Enjoy the safari(tiger, lion, bear, deer), all together in one ticket.

Nice experience. Entry ticket is 50 rupees for each person. For vehicle tour, you need to pay extra 80 rupees for each person. For safari, you need to pay 60 rupees each person. For safari, queue is very large so we skipped that part, next time for sure will plan the same and give review. We opted for vehicle tour. There were total 9 stop for the tour. They left us at each spot and we need to go inside and watch animals. It was very neat and clean. Space given to each animal is quiet spacious. The animals are very clean and healthy. We got the opportunity to see nandan(biggest tiger) in the zoo. Had seen this two cubs as well.

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a true paradise for animal lovers and families alike. Spread over vast acres of lush greenery, the park offers a unique opportunity to witness a wide array of exotic and indigenous species in their naturalistic habitats. The zoo's emphasis on animal welfare and conservation is commendable, providing a safe and enriching environment for its inhabitants. The park's star attraction is undoubtedly the white tiger safari, where visitors can marvel at the majestic and rare white tigers roaming freely in a spacious enclosure. Additionally, the park houses a rich variety of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and a diverse range of bird species. What sets Nandankanan apart from other zoos is its unique feature of a botanical garden within the premises. The lush gardens add to the serene ambiance and provide an opportunity for visitors to relax and enjoy the natural beauty. The zoo's dedication to education and awareness is evident through their informative exhibits and regular conservation programs. Visitors can learn about the importance of wildlife protection and the role each individual can play in safeguarding our planet's precious biodiversity. However, to fully explore the vast expanse of the park, visitors should come prepared with comfortable walking shoes and plenty of water. Some areas might require better signages and directions for convenience. In conclusion, Nandankanan Zoological Park is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable and educational wildlife experience. Its commitment to conservation, splendid animal exhibits, and serene surroundings make it an enchanting place to connect with nature and wildlife.

One of the better Zoo's of India. You can hire a small e-vehicle or take a ticket for a sharing e-vehicle, we did the latter which was fine. We took a guide... Which is really not required.. the only benefit is that you don't have to stand in any queue and everything is express for you. The bus safari is short but fine. You are driven into large caged areas of tigers, Lions, bears and herbivores. Enjoy 😊

Very well maintained. All animals looked healthy and well cared. Never seen so many species of tiger's at one zoo. Proper information about each animal, place neatly kept, sanitizing rules implied evry where. Had to cancel Safari ride as we felt unsafe keeping covid in mind. Large bus , too congested, no social distance in seating . Hence dropped the idea. Overall good trip. Kids had total fun. Electric car was a great help to hop from one spot to other. Though we covered everything early morning on foot.

A place which your kid will love. Allocate good amount of time if you want to view it well. If you are not in hurry don't take guide. If you don't have old people in your team, you don't need battary car as well, but it will save some amount of time, but the waiting, pickup and drops are chaotic. If you take a guide, car price, park entry fee is included. If you have not done safari then you can go for it, it will take additional 2 hrs. Kid may like it, but i did not find it exciting. It is also chaotic. Toy train is closed for the time being.

At first want to inform you that this park is very very big, it's made in a very large area. So it will take minimum half day or a full day to explore if you want to take the amazing experience. Lots of types of animals are there. You can also able to view white tiger and white peacock here. In some places of the the zoo road map were mentioned it will help you to visit all the place. It is a must visit place.

From majestic tigers and graceful elephants to playful primates and colorful birds, the zoo showcases an impressive collection of wildlife. The well-maintained enclosures provide a comfortable habitat for the animals, and the park's commitment to conservation and animal welfare is commendable. Our recent visit to Nandankanan left us feeling quite disappointed. While we were excited to spend a day with our family exploring the park, our experience fell short of our expectations. The park's layout and organization seemed confusing, making it challenging to navigate from one exhibit to another. We found the signage to be inadequate, leaving us unsure about which direction to go and which animals were in each area. This led to some frustration and wasted time as we tried to find our way around. Another letdown was the condition of some of the animal enclosures. It was disheartening to see a few enclosures that appeared cramped and in need of maintenance. The animals' well-being should be a top priority, and we were concerned about their living conditions in certain areas of the park. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the park was a concern. We noticed litter in some sections, which detracted from the overall experience and the natural beauty of the surroundings. On a positive note, there were a few exhibits that were well-maintained and offered an interesting glimpse into different species. However, these positive aspects were overshadowed by the overall lackluster experience we had during our visit. NOTE: Scammers alert- DON'T BUY GUIDE TICKET FROM OUTSIDE AS IT'S A SCAM, THEY WILL QUOTE A PRICE OF RS.800/640...BUT IF YOU CHECK THE ACTUAL PRICE INSIDE THE PARK IT'S QUITE CHEAPER.

Nandankanan is renowned for its active involvement in wildlife conservation and breeding programs. It's not just a zoo but also a sanctuary and a botanical garden dedicated to saving endangered species. It gained international fame for successfully breeding white tigers, a rare and endangered species. Nandankanan houses a significant botanical garden alongside its zoo, making it a unique combination of wildlife and plant conservation. It's located in a picturesque forested area, adding to its natural beauty and providing a more immersive experience for visitors. The park features a large aviary and an impressive aquarium, offering diverse experiences beyond typical zoos. These factors make Nandankanan Zoological Park stand out as a prominent wildlife conservation and education center in India.

A really decent zoo, on its way to become a quite unique zoo. The varieties and quantities of animals they have is not that impressive compared to other famous zoos I've visited. But it is fairly entertaining. They even have battery cars for the elderly who can't walk. One special point about them is that they have an area where they have separate division for types of animals. Like bear, tigers, lion they all live in a real mini forest made for them and we enter it through a bus. Loved the concept.

Nandankanan is a must-visit if you're in Odisha! I have visited this place multiple times throughout my life, right from childhood and every time, it has been a great experience. The safaris are a must and I'd suggest going here in the morning so that you can go for the safaris and also see the different enclosures at a peaceful pace. Weekends are always a rush so plan the day ahead before visiting. Some of the recent changes that I loved as a visitor- the digital experience while buying e-tickets for the entry has been seamless and easy. It also reduced waiting time for entry by a huge margin. There are also e-vehicles for hopping and travelling between the different enclosures. The digital and eco-friendly experience of Nandankanan has been splendid for my whole family, including senior-citizens! Definitely recommended!

The biggest Zoo in Odisha. There are a ton of animals, birds and fishes. It has many attractions. The place is huge and if you are visiting for the first time then you might get lost. There were toy trains and boating facilities, though I don't know if it is still in service. Cons are:- The place is not clean and the surrounding has overgrown plants. Theres always fear of monkey snatching your items or seeing a snake. Please be aware and maintain distance from barricades.

I have been across many museums across this globe without knowing there is a jewel right below my nose. Trust me if you love visiting a museum then please tick this one in your checklist. Just a word of caution. Get your expectations low about the ambiance It is located in a heritage building with a large lawn. Such grandeur is restricted only to the building. The maintenance is very poor as most places are not even dusted. However, the quality of display is the best in the world. It has fossils of prehistoric times , metals of all varieties, all kind of animal world. It’s like an one stop encyclopaedia. If you have a child please do take them. Importantly as an adult you will learn a lot The entry feee is Rs 50/- per adult and for photography its Rs 50/- even if you shoot with your mobile phone. I just hope there is a private entity which gets involved so that at least the museum can be managed liked the best in the world

Its big Zoo considering its in city limits. If you are visiting first time and are looking to properly see all the species, it’s advisable to have a tour guide along when you visit there. The guide can be booked at the entry counter and is very reasonable. The entry ticket is very nominal and can be booked online or visiting the counter at the main entry. You can see Nandan and his family on whose name the park is named and they are really huge in size ( bigger than normally I have seen in other safaris). Others will include giraffe, snakes, monkey species etc

The park is huge with wide varieties of wildlife. There are many different types of birds in abundance. There are many reptiles like snake, lizards and crocs. The park also have white tiger, bear and many different breeds of tigers. There is also a lake. But be careful with langoors, they may snatch your stuffs as they move freely here and there. It is an excellent opportunity to spend about two to three hours in the zoo. Buy entry tickets @ Rs 60 per head. If you wish can spend another Rs. 40 per head for open battery operated vehicle with guide to move from point to point of the zoo. Don't miss Safari @Rs. 60 per head for Tiger, Lion, Deer roaming around you freely. Outside food is not allowed. Food packets may be snatched by monkeys around you along with your bags. Good set of animals to see here. Tigers, lions, leopards, bears, deers, monkeys, tortoise, snakes etc. We opted for the buggy car ride which was ₹80 per person adults and kids. And also went for the safari which was ₹60 per person kids and adults. These are recommended. In total you can spend about 4 hours easily in here. There is a mini train ride as well inside not recommended Animals in the safari I felt were malnourished! But the zoo ones were relatively healthy especially the tigers and lions. Good thing is plastic is not allowed, food items if carried in plastic bag will be transferred to paper bags at the entrance. Similarly if you're having water bottles, they charge ₹100 per bottle as deposit refundable when brought back.

Well, the experience was worth the ticket price, or should I say more than the ticket price. Seeing the wild animals up close is an unique experience and I would recommend it, if you have kids, they should see the animals. There is facility for buying tickets for electric vehicle ride. But I won't recommend it taking it, if you don't have any elderly people or person with disability in your party. Ticket price: Rs 50 for age>12 Rs 10 for age<12 For guides there is other tariff depends on whether you are an Indian National Or Foreign Tourist and that too for 1hr 30min, after which something in the ball park of Rs 100/200 for each 30 min more. For electric vehicle, it's Rs 80/individual regardless of age.

I recently visited the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, my overall experience was superb. This offers a wide range of fascinating animals and birds, making it a delightful destination for nature enthusiasts and families. The well-maintained enclosures and the presence of helpful maps and guides throughout the zoo made the visit enjoyable. The variety of animals and birds present at Nandankanan is truly impressive. The zoo offers a glimpse into the diverse world of wildlife. The information provided in front of each enclosure helps visitors to know about the animals. However, amid the visit, I have a sympathy for some of the animals living in enclosures. Although efforts have been made to create suitable habitats, still the birds and animals are confined to cages. Some of the additional attractions, such as boating, flying cars, and the safari train, were not operational during my visit. Entry fee for adults- ₹50/- For foreigners - 100/- 🚫 Plastic was prohibited.

The name "Nandankanan" translates to "The Garden of Heaven" in the local Odia languages. Nandankanan has a beautiful botanical garden with a wide range of plants, making it an ideal place for nature enthusiasts. The zoo is well-equipped with amenities for visitors including a nature interpretation center, an aquarium, a reptile park, and a walk-in aviary. Visitors can enjoy safari rides in the zoo, including a white tiger safari and a lion safari, to get a closer look at the animals in a more naturalistic setting. We have seen almost all the animals and it’s worth visiting especially with kids. They will definitely have super fun. Even though it needs a long walk it’s worth going for the animals. The animals were also given cute names to call them. The zoo is kept clean and the animals are well taken care off. Nandankanan Zoological Park is a place where conservation, education, and recreation come together to provide an enriching experience for visitors while contributing significantly to the conservation of endangered species. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in wildlife and nature.

No doubt that its one of the best zoo. Please stay away from the touts trying to sell off additional services. I would recommend you to have good 3+ hours in hand to walk around and explore the beautiful zoo. The problem with battery operated cars are that you become dependent on a group and you have time stipulated for each section. I didn't try the Safari. While mostly it's clean, however, the cleanliness seems to be an issue in some of the sections especially the nocturnal animals section.

One of the biggest zoo of India located in the outskirt of Bhubaneswar.Following are different Ticket Prices, but mind it you have to wait in queue at every ticket counter and also after having ticket wait for your turn. Entry Fee- Rs.50/- Lion & Tiger Safari-Rs.30/- Bear Safari-Rs.15/- Herbivore Safari- Rs.15/- Battery Vehicle-Rs.80/- Boating Rs.50/-(two seater) These are exclusive of parking charges and also different ticket prices for Botanical Garden.Monday the zoo is closed. However, clock room charges is free. There is very long queue in front of main ticket counter and the authority will allow only one person of the group to collect the tickets. It is better if any lady is with you as the queue for ladies is comparatively less.No need to carry water any food material as variety of them are available at different places inside the zoo.As it is a very huge area and temperature here remain hot throughout the year, so it is advisable to visit the zoo in battery vehicle. It covers every area and give you sufficient time at each animal. But be hurry or you have to wait for the vehicle at the parking place inside the zoo. For Safari, if you just want an experience then you may go,otherwise it will be a sure wastage of time.Only one white tiger, two bears and three-four deers that they have inside safari,so it is no better than seeing them in cage.

Very well planned. Though just after pandemic. The safari was closed. But still it is worth a visit. Hope the zoo safari opens soon. It is also recommended to take a guide. They charge 200 INR. Government rate. The guide knows how to cover the most in short duration. I saw people going in wrong direction, getting confused where to see what. Roaming in circles 😌.. Overall very good experience. The kids loved ❤ it. There are battery operated car for kids and elderly is also available. But for fee off course. Recommended for everyone 👍 👍 👍 👌

This zoological park is stunning! It is huge in size & so is the variety of animals it has. Starting from Piranah Fish to White Tigers it has it all. The ambience is very calm & peaceful with greenary all around. It has both restaurant & canteen which offers proper veg, non-veg lunch & fastfood like Momos, Dosa, Ice cream, tea, coffee etc. The premises are very clean & plastic-free. More amenities like electric vechiles, guides are readily available. Recommend season to visit this place is during the winters & the spring.

It's pride of Odisha. One of the best Zoo in India. Used to be our go to place when we were kids. Went after so long with my kid and was awestruck. Kudos to the zoo management. They have maintained the zoo extremely well. Neat and clean. Starting from the ticketing process till exit from zoo, it was extremely smooth. Nowadays due to COVID they are not running the battery operated vehicle and the safari. But you will enjoy the long walk inside the Zoological park. Lots of animals. Best is the white tiger. A must visit place if you're in Bhubaneswar. Please book online ticket for hassle free visit. Parking is also available. Nandankanan zoo management - again thanks! A lot for making the zoo a safe and clean place👍.

Nandan kanan zoo, a well known tourist attraction can't handle large crowd on holidays. There is no proper parking place, no volunteers to help rather those homeguards or constables posted are not only rude in behaviour, they untrained, I'll mannered and lack basic courtesy how to talk to visitors. Their approach is unacceptable, unpalatable and one carries bad taste after visiting Nandan kanan, Lack of facilities, volunteers to help visitors, most add on services like toy train, ropeway, boating , Safari, are closed but no such information are publicly shared until you get in side. For elderly people or kids Electric vehicles are must but I didn't find though some vehicles were parked. Now on animals, most animals looked frail, mal nourished and the melieu and surrounding looked unhygienic, lustre less, dry and dirty. Deers, tigers all looked frail. Monkey menace is horrible and dangerous as they will come from behind and snatch away your eatables or even costly items. Overall, Nandankanan zoo lacks hospitable and uncooperative staff with no proper parking place, no hygenically maintained, shops or restaurants. Most are run by locals who have only one motive to cheat visitors.

Safari and bird Aviary are closed due to COVID-19 so I am little disappointed. Boating in the lake is available in 2 categories of 2 seaters(50rs) and 4 seaters(100rs). Reptile park has turtles, lizards, crocodiles, alligators and Snakes. Aquarium includes varieties of fishes. Toy train and Ropeway are being renovated. Various species are in the park including the WHITE TIGER that u must see. There is an ORCHIDARIUM and PANGOLIN reserve also. Paid luggage room service is available . Proper COVID protection protocol is being followed. U should visit the place but beware of the pick-pocketers in snake house.

Bhubaneswar's crown jewel for tourists. There's so many tigers, birds and a giraffe. White tigers are especially gallant to look at. This zoo is the India's 2nd biggest zoo. But this zoo don't run the toy train or Safari. The entry fee for this zoo is Rs50 & for the foreigners it will cost them Rs100. This zoo have 🐅, 🦁,Lioness, 🐻, Hippopotamus, giraffe 🦒,Zebra, 🐘, a lots of varieties of 🐍, varieties species of 🐦, Iguanas, peacock 🦚, etc. . You can also get there a guide near at the ticket counter. Lots of monkeys also move around inside the zoo freely . So do not eat anything Infront of them otherwise they will snatch it from you. If you are planing to go there then have a good journey.

(Pros) •You can do online booking which is a good thing. •The birds & animals were beautiful. •There are some beautiful spots to visit inside the park. (Cons) •You will get a hard time finding a parking place for your vehicle's. •There is no social distancing in most of the main spots and people are not wearing the masks properly (Keeping the mask under the nose/jaw). •The number of animals in the park has been lowered.

Definitely this Zoo is Proud of India. Asia's largest zoo. Only one word, astounding. Beautiful and splendid place, if you like plants, flowers, lake view. It has become a hub of love birds. A well maintained botanical garden is also there. Children park is also there. Family & kids can enjoy the lotus garden, cactus garden, butterfly park etc. Visitors can see amazing huge number of tigers, lions, dears, bears, crocodiles, elephants, tortoise etc. Apart from that a long list of other animals, birds and reptiles can be seen here. If you want to visit this zoo, please take 5-6 hr in hand. Greenery is good and the lake at the end was really good. Safari, resume is also there to feel the nature from a close view. Food court and water supply are present in the campus. Animals are well conserved in this place. This place is very much interesting for children. Overall it is a nice place for those who love nature and the creation. We have to develop a relationship with the animals otherwise so many animal will be no more to see. Ticket counter, Sanitization, cleanness…all are good. Ticket 50 for adult (Above 12) Ticket 10 (3-12Years) You can book online ticket as well on the site.

'To me the visit to Indian Museum was informative, educative and historically nourishing which is going to linger in my mind for a long time." The oldest and largest Museum in India is Indian Museum in Kolkata, near Park Street Metro Station. It has rare collections of antiques, arms, armors, coins, statues, masks, fossils, arts, stuffed animals, tombs and so much more from India, Asia and other parts of the World. The building itself reminds us of British legacy with a splendid architecture and a fabulous landscaped park right inside the building.

This Museum is one of the oldest museums in India. It will take you almost 2 hours to see all the galleries in this museum. If you are interested in history then only visit this place. Government can invest more here so that more tourists are attracted.

Nandan Kanan Zoological Park is the pride of Odisha. It's located just besides the Botanical Garden and the Chandaka Elephant Sanctuary which makes the City a beauty of Nature in the City of Bhubaneswar. The Park has a variety to offer to the visitors. It consists of Aquarium, Bird Aviary, Reptile Park, Tiger Safari, Lion Safari, Bear Safari, White Tiger, Lions, Giraffe, Hippo, Gorilla, Chimps, and it covers almost all varieties of wild animals and birds. The Orangutan is the only one left in India. The best part is the Kanjia lake. It has boating facility. The Roap way is closed now. But a new roadways project is going on and soon would be open to the visitors. A must visit place in Odisha. Kids would enjoy a lot.

  • 4/5 B P. 3 years ago on Google
One of the premier and among the largest Zoological Parks of the world. They have huge collection of birds and animals. The bird park is a must see attraction inside the park. The shuttle inside the park offer good service @Rs.80 per person. I felt there is a need to increase their numbers based on crowd. There are couple of refreshment centres inside zoo but not sure of the food and their service. Visitors should be aware that the zoo is a plastic free park and plastic bottles, food packets like chips...wafers etc. are not allowed although the officials allow you to transfer the food to paper packets if you mistakenly carry one. Lot of vendors putside the park sells local food. There are restaurants outside the zoo so you don't need to carry food if you wish. For some reason the ropeway wide is now stopped. They should restart the ride. The small toy train which used to be a major attraction is also not operational for years. This is a good attraction for kids and they shd restart this facility. Overall one gets a very nice experience...and lot to see and learn for kids.

No maintenance.. Primates roaming around snatching bags from visitors, animals are in pain due to no proper maintenance.. Most amazing place to visit with your family. Nandankanan renovation like world's no.1 zoo due to peaceful area with more toilets, park& selfie zones. From Mastercanteen bustand you can directly get city bus for Nandankanan. This locality known as Raghunathpur area. Now-a-days more restaurant is there , so for food you have no hesitation. Metro style parking space building will be opening very soon, it is under construction. My words will be less🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👌👌👌

Great place to visit. My son enjoyed this place. Earlier we have visited zoo outside of India. After seeing this zoo, we are so proud and thankful to people who are maintaining it really well. Bus safari where people are inside and animals are outside freely roaming around is the best part. Overall enjoyed the experience.

I was visit Nandankanan Zoo on November 2021. This was my 2nd time. Park was opened but lion, tiger safaris were closed. Toy train ride and boating was also closed for maintenance. Entry ticket was Rs 50 (12 years above) for adult and Rs 10 for child (3 to 12 years). Different types of animal kept here. Zoo area is very big.

Well, I used to visit there as a kid, almost every summer vacation. It was great to see the iconic dinosaur and the turtle statues have been retained. The place has improved so much, addition of battery operated vehicles, cleaner walkways, frequent site maps, directions pointers, water coolers with purifiers. Other areas of entertainment have been added. Toy train, ropeway, boat riding, nature stay and others. I’m confident that this is one of the best zoological parks in the country. The best things that stood out was understandably prohibited used of plastic and carrying food. This has been done seamlessly and the park’s team deserve kudos for that. Certainly on the path of improvement. However, there are certain things that were abysmal. Management of the safari is one. On premise food arrangements are the other. Staff approach in both these places was repealing at best. Tarnishing otherwise great experience. I would request @OTDC to look into lifting up the standards there. Last one, maintenance or repair work being carried out in reptile section, with visitors around raised safety concerns for me. It’s one of the iconic places under Odisha tourism. #heritage-development

(Visited in November 2021) - With family, had a great trip to the place on a Sunday evening. There are guides available too for a quick tour. The Zoo is very famous and attracts a huge crowd. If it's raining, umbrellas can be had for rent here. The Zoo is a total package, with Royal bengal Tigers, White Tiger, Asiatic Lion, Bears etc...

A fantastic place to visit, if you can find good 3 to 4 hours..... Kids will enjoy it for sure, all the animals are very healthy, you will get a unique experience of watching Girraffe, White tiger, Lion, Lioness, Bear, crocodile, Alligator and several! Unique species of monkey and birds... Food inside is sub standard and service is poor as it is run by odissa Tourism. Value for money, tip is to do get a guide for better experience of this trip.

This place is constantly being renovated yet keeping the originality intact. The entry closes at 5pm and the nocturnal section is closed before that (around 4:30pm). Many new creatures are being added frequently and it has been proposed to be a world class zoo. But the electronic bus needs to be looked after and managed properly. People are being tricked by the guides and the drivers. Beware of it! Its better to take a whole day to see each and every part by walking as you won't feel betrayed because to do their job quickly the drivers tend to make people skip some essential animals. There are some very rare and endangered species out there.

  • 4/5 Kedar L. 2 years ago on Google
The zoo is very good, well maintained / Managed and consists of many animals species, Safaris, Birds and Aquarium. It would be better for the tourists to not to communicate with the Guides. Four tour of the zoo will take around 2 and Half to 3 hours.

Being the glory of Odisha Nandankanan Zoological Park not only encourage people to visit there. Its being a home for variety of animals bird and reptile. The concept of non plastic use inside the zoo make it even more safe for environment as people are even bio degradable paper bag in the entrance for their snacks. People don't even need to carry water as the zoo administration has no of RO water facility for drinking water. Security arrangement is great and for visitor they provide a guide who have through knowledge about the zoo with a reasonable price. Even people can visit their without any guide as the zoo has a clear road map indicator at every junction point . Lion, bear and white tiger safari experience will make you fall in love with the zoo. One can enjoy explore it by walking or battery operated vehicle. As per information they are coming up with ropeway soon and its under construction. I have share some picture and video do enjoy and like them. Do visit there to get the real experience. As picture can give you only the idea how it is.

Book tickets online... there is multilevel car parking and also 2 wheeler parking is also there Awesome number of tigers .... could not have proper view of lion and white tiger as they were sleeping far away Be ready to walk a lot or book Battery Operated Vehicle for a minimal fee. There is cloak room for keeping luggage If u take water bottle u need to deposit Rs50 which can be refunded on return but we were late and the office had closed so didn't get our refund. Better buy water inside Lion safari we saw one lion far away and the vehicle turned back as soon as we saw one. Not sure if there is just one lion or it's their policy to return as soon as u see one. We could not see any tiger in tiger safari. Bear and herbivore safari will be satisfying as u see a lot of them. Boating also awesome. 4hrs is not enough to cover everything so 10 to 5 is ideal ...

A good place for animal lovers to hangout. The park has a large number of terrestrial animals, birds and it also has boating access. One can book vehicles and hire travel guides for better experience in locations or people can spend quality time by foot and explore. Rest shed and washrooms are clean and usuable. Food facility is also available. A good place for photography and peace.

Pros A nice variety of animals in the Zoo... The safaris are amazing. You will definitely spot the tiger, lion and bear alongwith other herbivores. A must visit with family and friends. Cons The interpretation centre is badly maintained and nothing is functional. Looks it is highly overlooked. If maintained, it will be helpful for students and children to assimilate more before visiting zoo.

One of the best zoos in India. It's very big. It's A Very Entertaining Place For Kids and adults also. You Will Get Different Species Of Animals. I visited here in the afternoon. The ticket price is ₹50 Rupees for adults and ₹10 rupees for 3 to 12 years old kids. Inside this zoological Park authority provides "Battery Car Safari(Like Toto)" service. They charge ₹80 rupees per head. I would suggest you if you want to see all areas within a short time with relaxation then rent this car. This Park is very clean.

To avoid long queue I booked online tickets. I didn't take the ride and safari. But I liked the zoo.. Good maintenance. Only avoid the restaurant inside the park. It's pathetic. The zoo is a plastic free zone. Carry water bottles but don't forget to take it outside.

Nandankanan Zoological Park is a must-visit for anyone who loves wildlife and nature. This beautiful park is home to a diverse array of animals, including some of the rarest and most exotic species from around the world. What sets Nandankanan apart is its commitment to providing the highest level of care for its animals. The enclosures are spacious, well-maintained, and designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats as closely as possible. This allows visitors to observe the animals in a safe and comfortable environment, while also learning about their behavior and habits. A must visit place in Bhubaneswar. A collection of various species are preserved in this place. Some unique animal like white tiger is present there. Enclosure of animals are bigger than other zoo and Separate enclosure allotted for everyone. It will take a full day to visit the whole zoo if you walk. But there are battery operated vehicles used for Safari and you can take them for time saving. The charges are around 200 rupees per person. I will advice to go in winter season and keep enough time in hand.

Prices: ₹50: Parking for 4 wheeler (6hr) ₹30: For small 2 wheelers (6hr) ₹50: Entry ticket (adult & children above 3yr) ₹90: AC safari Inside canteens are high rate foods. Pettis: ₹50 Pizza: ₹70 Chowmin: ₹50 Ice cream: ₹45/₹50 PLASTER BOTTLE CONTROL ₹50 per each bottle. (Money completely refundable after tour you have to show the sticker on bottle and get back your money that is ₹50 or more) THIS IS A NICE INITIATIVE, TO CONTROL PLASTIC BOTTLE INSIDE ZOO. (if you throw bottle inside then forget refund) Ok to visit for first time. But if you visit second time then don't recommended. Because very limited animals are there. Its ok for animals to not be at zoo. They have their natural vegetation too. So dont go for 2nd time. In safari you will find maximum 2 bear, 2 lion, 2 tiger , NO elephants & many deers. There is only one place of chilled drinking water that is infront of Dinosaur structure. So not good to visit in summer season because of high heat wave animals doesn't seems to roam out for you . And limited (only one tap) chilled drinking water.

Nandankanan is a Zoological Park in Odisha. Many animals and birds are kept here. It is very big in size. That's why taking a rented car is recommended. You can also take a Guide. They're well informed. Animals like crocodiles, tigers, lions, white tigers and leopard are kept here. You can also see birds like peacocks etc. Safaris are done here, like tiger safari, lion safari, bear safari and herbivores safari. Just go and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Nice place to visit with family and friends. Please check how's weather 1st before visiting Hot humid climate makes very difficult to survive and even all animals also take shelter that time. 5Pm 🕔 closing 4-5 hours require for enjoying full zoo

It is the best zoological park in odisha. Believe me you need to get an umbrella for any season you are visiting, summer will definitely take your all fun and rain will drench you. The ticket cost is 50₹ for adults and 10₹ for under 12 yr children and 100₹ for foreigner. Parking cost is 20₹ for two wheeler 40₹ for four wheeler. This place is in a little distance arround 200 meter from ticket counter and connected to ticket counter. You will face no issue because of maps, follow the maps it will be easy for you. You all know the rules viz not to take plastics, cooked food. There's a free room for keeping your bags and accessories,if you want to take plastic water bottles then you have to attach a sticker on your bottle which price is 50₹ and it is refundable. Violation of rules will cost 1000₹ so be careful. Now talk about animals: to be true you won't be happy with the situations. You have to walk around 3-4 kilometres during expedition (displacement) so ready to walk with heavy energy. Govt should take necessary step for this. Public are really suffering. One fact is most of the animals are single they don't have any mate partner,on which the association should take action. Average all facilities are available in there like food rest drinking water toilets. There's a toy train cost 50&40₹ for adults and children

A lot of things have changed. Battery car is available now for 80/person with Guide 300/ group. You have to take the guide , who basically would guide you through the main areas while needlessly translating the names of the animals and birds 😁. Be attentive, you could see a baby elephant walking behind his or her master along the pavements. It's a huge area so make time for the day and visit.

Nandankanan is the first zoo in India with a white tiger safari. It provides unique situation where the visitors are confined in a vehicle and the animals roam in the open jungle. A twenty-minute drive through the meandering roads crisscrossing the natural forest in a special protected vehicle takes the visitors straight into the pride of lion in the lion safari. Also visitors can avail opertunity to slight sloth bears in their natural habitat through safari bus service.

Very well maintained, completely plastic free area . The white tiger is the main attraction for me. The area is vast,a large varieties of animals are there to see ,while some of them are endangered. Various safaris are available . Very nice place to visit with family and friends .

Mesmerizing view at boating point on evening. Lots of tiger breads are there. Plan with your friends and family. There is option for ev vehicle if you want travel around the zoo on it. And they started the new ropeway but price is little much high in comparison to boating. In boating For 4 person you have to pay 100 rupees for 30min and 100 rupees advance they will return it. Overall nice zoo and i think they can add some more lion.
