I
just
spent
a
fabulous
week
at
the
Claridges
Hotel.
My
friend
joined
me
for
the
first
3
nights.
My
stay
in
Delhi,
was
so
much
more
pleasant
and
smooth
with
the
Claridges
Experience!
Let
me
start
with
the
pros:
Location:
A
plus.
This
is
the
best
location
by
far
of
all
the
5
star
hotels
in
New
Delhi.
You
are
never
more
than
3-5
kms
from
most
of
the
shops,
restaurants,
museums.
Khan
market
is
close,
with
the
best
shopping
and
cafes.
Decor:
Just
gorgeous!
The
flower
arraagements
everywhere
were
superb,
specially
the
roses.
Room
and
bathroom-
The
newly
renovated
ground
floor
suite
was
beautifully
decorated
and
very
luxurious.
Our
black
marble
bathroom
with
antique
brass
fixtures
was
one
of
the
most
spectacular
bathrooms
I
have
ever
been
in!
It
was
absolutely
gorgeous.
We
stayed
in
No
6.
Restaurants
and
Food-
Fantastic.
We
had
breakfast
daily
at
the
Lutyens
cafe.
There
was
quite
a
spread
with
an
extensive
hot
and
cold
buffet
and
an
omelette/
waffle
table.
The
assortment
of
bread
and
cheeses
were
very
good.
I
also
dined
at
the
Thai
restaurant
which
was
excellent.
Separate
review.
I
have
always
stayed
at
the
Oberoi
and
I
think
the
quality
of
the
buffet
in
comparison
to
the
Oberoi,
is
not
as
good.
e.g.
The
idlis
were
not
fresh.
There
is
no
fruit
juice
station.
The
fruit
selection
is
limited.
The
uppama
was
not
well
made.
So,
even
though
Lutyens
was
very
good,
it
was
not
outstanding
like
the
Thai
restaurant
at
the
hotel.
Staff-
Was
always
smiling
and
willing
to
assist.
Duty
managers
and
Front
Desk
staff
were
very
kind
and
efficient.
In
Room
Dining:
Fantastic!
I
was
unwell
and
on
two
separate
mornings,
ordered
masala
chai
early
am.
It
arrived
steaming
hot
within
5
minutes,
exactly
as
I
asked.
Cons:
Service:
Lacking.
Service
in
the
Lutyens
Cafe
was
haphazard.
There
were
several
staff
floating
around
but
did
not
seem
to
know
what
to
do
with
themselves.
They
were
not
trained
as
in
the
Oberois
to
keep
repeatedly
coming
to
the
table
to
check.
The
garden
restaurant/
bar
staff
were
especially
inattentive.
They
always
seemed
to
be
looking
in
a
direction
other
than
our
table.
We
had
drinks
there
on
two
evenings
and
both
times
had
to
get
up
and
call
the
staff
for
assistance.
Pool
side:
One
evening
there
was
a
party
in
the
garden
so
we
sat
by
the
pool
for
a
drink.
There
was
no
one
to
serve
us.
We
had
to
go
inside
and
get
a
waiter.
And,
they
wouldn't
serve
us
food
until
I
asked
for
the
FB
manager.
If
the
garden
has
an
event,
please
arrange
an
alternate
venue
for
hotel
guests
to
enjoy
the
outdoors
with
service.
The
most
glaring
issues
were
with
the
housekeeping,
which
on
the
first
day
rearranged
and
repositioned
my
toiletries
to
make
room
for
the
hotel
amenities!!
This
was
unacceptable.
After
all,
I
am
trying
to
make
my
hotel
room
feel
like
my
home
for
a
week.
The
last
problem
is
with
the
efficiency
of
the
room
design-All
the
room
lights
except
the
bedside
lamps,
are
switched
on
with
one
master
switch.
If
my
friend
was
in
the
living
area
and
I
in
the
bedroom
we
could
not
separate
the
lighting.
This
is
a
big
flaw.
The
bedroom
slippers
provided
are
guaranteed
to
make
you
fall
and
hurt
yourself.
Even
though
I
threw
them
in
the
waste,
they
appeared
every
day
by
my
bedside!
Even
though
I
placed
my
shoes
in
a
corner
where
they
would
not
be
seen,
every
single
day
they
would
be
moved
and
placed
on
a
mat
in
full
view
of
the
entrance
and
sofa
as
they
were
a
museum
piece
of
art!!!There
are
too
many
amenity
boxes
in
the
small
bathroom
leaving
little
place
for
ones
personal
belongings.
The
limited
counter
space
in
the
bathrooms
has
to
be
made
available
for
guest
beloingings,
not
stuffed
with
fancy
marble
boxes.These
are
small
issues
that
can
be
corrected
including
the
larger
one
of
training
the
staff(
specially
housekeeping
and
Lutyens/
garden)
to
be
more
focused
on
guest
satisfaction.
If
Claridges
straightens
out
these
minor
wrinkles,
it
will
be,
far
and
above,
the
best
hotel
in
New
Delhi.
I
will
definitely
return
and
recommend
it
to
all
my
friends
and
colleagues.
