I
had
the
joy
of
staying
at
Leela
in
September.
What
started
as
a
two-day
stay
extended
to
about
two
weeks;
I
was
so
happy
there
that
I
didn’t
want
to
leave.
The
hotel
is
gorgeous
and
welcoming,
with
a
tall
lobby
full
of
fresh
flowers.
The
decor
is
contemporary
but
warm…
The
beds
are
very
comfortable,
with
soft
fluffy
pillows
and
crisp
sheets,
a
perfect
place
to
rest.
The
hotel
has
great
views,
especially
from
the
upper
floors;
my
room
overlooked
a
nature
reserve,
and
most
mornings
I
would
stretch
out
on
the
window
seat,
drinking
a
cappuccino
or
chai
and
watching
the
peacocks
in
the
fields
below.
It
was
a
peaceful
way
to
start
the
day—and
a
pleasant
surprise
to
find
nature
in
the
middle
of
a
busy
city.
But
it
wasn’t
the
Leela’s
amenities
that
made
my
stay
so
special;
it
was
the
people.
Although
I
have
had
the
pleasure
of
staying
in
a
variety
of
excellent
hotels
during
my
travels,
I
have
never
seen
customer
service
in
any
other
place
that
met
the
high
standards
I
experienced
here.
Without
exception,
the
team
at
Leela
was
professional,
friendly,
and
genuinely
kind.
As
a
manager
with
a
background
in
the
service
sector,
I
know
how
rare
this
is—and
it’s
something
that
means
a
lot
to
me.
There
is
a
culture
of
service
at
Leela
that
I
believe
starts
at
the
top
and
that
is
most
likely
embodied
at
each
layer
of
management;
Leela
has
clearly
hired
great
people,
trained
them
well,
and
then
given
them
the
freedom
to
interact
with
guests
in
a
way
that
lets
their
excellent
customer
service
skills
shine.
My
situation
during
this
visit
was
a
bit
different
than
most.
I
was
an
international
traveler
during
a
time
when
COVID
restrictions
kept
the
county
closed
to
most
international
tourists.
I
was
also
traveling
by
myself
and
was
in
a
wheelchair
due
to
a
recent
ankle
surgery.
My
husband
had
initially
worried
about
my
safety
and
the
difficulty
that
I
might
face
in
India
alone.
We
both
quickly
realized
that
I
wasn’t
alone
at
all;
I
had
a
team
of
kind
people
looking
out
for
me
at
Leela,
and
over
the
course
of
my
stay,
some
of
the
staff
transformed
from
strangers
to
friends.
In
a
team
of
exceptional
people,
I
want
to
give
special
kudos
to
the
ones
that
stood
out
the
most.
Early
on,
I
had
asked
if
the
furniture
in
the
room
could
be
moved
around
a
bit
to
make
it
easier
to
navigate
in
the
wheelchair;
within
minutes,
Srikant
and
Ajay
were
there
transforming
the
space.
Ajay
stayed
in
touch
throughout
my
stay,
helping
coordinate
things
for
me
at
the
hotel
and
with
the
housekeeping
team.
He
even
helped
facilitate
services
with
the
hotel’s
gifted
tailors,
Basarat
and
Munna,
who
worked
magic
with
special
requests;
they
created
beautiful
and
unique
objects—a
lace-covered
toiletry
bag
and
several
gorgeous
pillow
covers—that
I
use
daily
at
home
and
that
bring
back
happy
memories
of
India.
On
the
concierge
and
front
desk
side,
Pushpita
and
Shivani
went
above
and
beyond
in
every
interaction
and
with
every
request;
I
am
so
thankful
for
their
help
and
their
many
acts
of
kindness.
At
the
spa,
Ron
and
Azo
were
amazing.
They
provided
detailed
recommendations
for
shopping
and
traveling
as
well
as
inspiring
conversations.
In
the
restaurant,
Chef
Dharmendra
impressed
me
with
his
culinary
skill.
Although
many
of
his
dishes
were
exceptional,
his
Kerala
curry
is
the
one
that
stands
out
the
most:
It
was
perfectly
spiced,
and
I
still
think
of
it
as
the
most
delicious
curry
that
I
have
tasted
in
my
life.
Finally,
I
will
always
be
grateful
to
Sandeep,
the
knowledgeable
and
trustworthy
driver
who
helped
me
explore
Delhi—something
that
would
have
been
off
limits
for
me
in
a
wheelchair
without
his
kindness.
More
than
anyone,
I
have
Sandeep
to
thank
for
the
insightful
conversations
and
beautiful
photographs
that
I
will
always
associate
with
those
weeks
in
Delhi.
I’m
not
sure
when
I
will
return
to
Delhi,
but
when
I
do,
I’ll
stay
at
Leela.
