This was the most traumatizing hotel experience I've had to date in any country I have had the privilege to discover. We arrived in the middle night (around 1 or 2 am) to find our rooms with bed bugs on each of our beds. When we went to the reception to ask for other rooms, they did not seem surprised by the bed bugs mention and proceeded to tell us the extermination services had come a while ago. After a quick inspection, we saw other bugs walking freely on our mattresses. We decided to leave in the middle of the night (at 3 am) for Agra to visit for the day. When we came back around 8 pm at the hostels, without a minute of sleep in the last 36h, we wanted to get our bags and leave for another hostel, the guy would not let us. We wanted to handle that civilly as adults, but this task was made impossible because the people we were dealing with were animals. First, he denied there was bed bugs in the first place, but did not want to check the rooms to see if this was the case. He physically restrained me and a few of my friends to stay within the hotel until the "big boss" could come. Moreover, he pushed me whenever I would speak to him closely and this COWARD would manhandle our girl friends who were very frail compared to him. He threatened my friends of breaking his phone if he would not stop filming although it was in our rights. That is when the real nightmare began, the big boss arrived, hiding his face with a scarf as if he was part of the mob and demanded that we payed. We tried to negotiate with him as well but he was screaming and threatening us: "If you do not pay I will hurt you". "I can expel you from this country". When negotiating, at some point he started hitting his hands 2cm away from my friends' face, and raised his hands towards him and me as if he would hit us across the face. Scared, we told him that we would pay, we just wanted to get out of here. He got even madder because we had "ruined his reputation" and told us "you will see, you will see" and ran in the back while 10 of the hotel's employees were surrounding us with their hands hidden in the back. We seriously thought he was going to reach for a weapon, terrified we said we would do anything he asked us to do, but to just let us go. At the end, he coerced us to pay for 3 nights and forced us to write an apology letter, that we wrote shakily without meaning a single word behind it. Moreover, the guy at the desk modified it a few times until he was satisfied with the final version and made us sign. Lastly, when he calmed down, he asked us to show the bed bugs, and the cleaning employees were there, but I still managed to find a bug in 30 seconds. He denied this, saying it was a fly (apparently, flies without wings exist in this area). I never write hateful comments or negative comments denigrating the hotel service, but I felt obligated to this time, because these guys are not hotel employees / managers, but they are thieves and thugs that you do not want to deal with. Best regards,

Nice location and front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Decent considering the cheap price. Unfortunately overall the full place is very run down. Shower in bathroom basically broken and both wifi & 4G would not work in the room.. not ideal when needing to work. Also did specifically request a room with a desk but our room did not have one. Although their travel agency part of the hotel are looking help you plan / book travel, they are undoubtedly marking prices up hugely. We’ve travelled India a few times now and some of the train price quotes here in the hotel were crazy compared to booking directly online, I guess it depends on if you’re looking for convenience of someone booking all for you or if you’d rather pay the actual price and sort it yourself.

Brilliant stay here at Backpackers Heaven! We initially booked here mainly because of the cheap price for a double room. I'm pleased to say the hostel is so much more than a room! Fantastic food and drink (at a very decent price) and awesome service from all the staff. Also at the hostel, there is the travel agent "Travel India One Day" which the hostel staff also run. Massive thank you to Raj and Rikki for their help in booking activities in Delhi (you have to do the Old Delhi Food/Walking Tour!!!!) as well as onwards travel to Agra, and Jaipur with all activities included. Cannot recommend enough!

Best Hostel in New Delhi. Very near to Ramakrishna Ashram metro 🚊🚇 station Exit 4. Nice 👍 locations. Many street shops and restaurants in and around located. Very clean hostel. Staff also very nice behaviour. Safe place & hostel tea ☕️ very tasty 😋. Value for money 💰. Easy to reaching anywhere Delhi. Lucky hostel. Air condition is working very well from night 9Pm to 11 AM. Toilet is very big, clean. Always hot & cool Water 🚿💧 is available. Nice 👍 place. My favourite hostel in New Delhi

Pathetic service. Nothing was available in the room except for towel. There was no way to contact the reception people as you had to come all the way down from 3rd floor to contact them even if you had to. The washroom didn’t even have a liquid soap to wash your hands shows the service and when asked they said you shouldn’t have checked in and left. The staff is very rude specially the owner who doesn’t even know how to talk. Any hotel or even a 1 star hotel would be great than this stupid hotel.

Definitely DO NOT book this hostel !!!! I arrived at the airport at 1am. I was driven to another one of their hostels, which was in very bad condition. We complained about that and were changed to the hostel I booked. However, the hostel is also very old and does not match the photos online. Please do not book this hotel. It was my NIGHTMARE of this trip.

Alert! Do not go by their false reviews on hostelworld, they will deny your booking even if you book with a deposit, on arrival and tell you to move to their another shady properties. People in the area told me that they majorly take overbookings and cater to bookings that has the higher value. Staff was rude and told me to shift to other property or find myself other one. Wasted my whole day as I went for a conference and planned in advance with all prebookings but such unethical properties can make your travel nightmare!

I had a comfortable stay at Hindustan at the beginning of my India journey. The room was comfortable, it was very loud but after three months of India after I realise most hotels in city's struggle to shut the sound of fire crackers and traffic out. Raj was really helpful in planning my further travels with me.

When I lost my passport in Delhi, this was one of the few Hostels where the manager accepted to host me and actually listened and tried to help. ✔ Located in a quieter street of Paharganj with helpful staff. ✔ My private room had comfy beds with working A/C. ✔ WiFi throughout the Hostel worked very well. Note that the Hostel is currently under renovations, so expect improvements and upgrades in the future. Thank you again very much for your help!

The rooms are considerably okay. But the lift is not working. Hotel staff do not support to lift the luggage to the allotted room in the first and second floor. No hotwater supply. They buy food from street and give to inmates on an exorbitant price for a less quantity, that too maximum delayed. They book cabs for us to reach railway station on a major commission basis. The cabs are also not punctual leaving the clients under lot of hardships. Extremly filthy people and the hotel is situated in the most filthy place in New Delhi Pahargunj. Please dont go this hotel for heaven's sake.

The place is nice and it is located in a busy area but near the railway station. I would like to point out the kindness of Mr.Manoj. I first booked a dorm for 4 nights, but after some change of plans, I shortened my stay for 2 nights but my booking couldn't be cancelled. So he offered me the possibility of paying in advanced for the 4 nights and then once i return to the hostel I could stay for 2 extra nights. I came 1 month after and he still remembered me! Thanks for everything!

It was perfect to have found this hotel. Everyone was friendly and you will always be helped. They also organize trips in India and it's a good service and a good price. I can only recommend the backpacker hotel. Abdul in particular does a good job.

The room was relatively clean, but bathroom was mouldy and had a strong musty smell. They were also spraying for roaches when we were there so the lobby and hallways smelt pretty strongly of chemicals. When we arrived, Raj gave us the usual - don’t trust anybody (except for him). Then over the next couple of days, pushed hard to sell us an extremely marked up “tour” of India when we politely asked him to book train tickets to our next destination only. He then tried selling us train tickets at 10x the price. He said that some trains are dodgy and that many tourists just died in a train crash a few weeks ago, but the tickets he was selling were for a safe train… ridiculous. We ended up just getting tickets directly from the train station ourselves. Abdul was great and always had nice food recommendations. We stayed in a different hostel in Delhi on our way out of India (and had a much better experience).

The rooms are ok, but hotel staffs are not responding to the client requirements and not properly answers. Lifts are not working and there is no hot water in bathroom. Hotel staffs are not cooperating / helping take guest luggages into the room and taking out The said hotel is situated in a conjusted area and they act in everything on a commission basis. Foods are serving to the guest from road vendors and charging double amount.

It's in the Paharganj area of Delhi. The lane in front of this stinks. Hotel inside is clean and they provide all help possible. Kailash uncle is really helpful. Location is near to RK ashram marg metro Station which is just 10 minutes walk.

This is my second stay here at Hindustan by Backpacker Heaven and I will stay here every time I visit Delhi! I’ve also recommended this place to fellow travellers passing through. Some of the things I love about this place is the service; the staff, Billy and every other staff member here are super friendly and accomodating, I truly feel like a valued guest, a friend. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are well set out with a spacious bathroom and the common area is also very social. I’ve met other solo travellers here and ended up exploring Delhi together. I think the thing I loved most of all though is the location. Super close to metro which is amazing and handy for getting around Delhi easily and quickly. The main bizarre is super close but Hindustan is tucked away down a quiet street where it feels like a relief to come back home to after roaming in hectic Delhi. I actually arrived from Delhi airport then took the AirPort Express metro to New Delhi railway station which is fast and cheap then it was a fifteen minute walk to my hostel here. (8 minutes by rickshaw but the walk is pleasant enough)

The staffs are very hospitable, polite and friendly. Loved the entire experience. They have a terrace which is calm and a lobby area to hangout with other travellers. Will recommend it you're in Delhi for a short stay and explore the nearby Bazaar Areas.

Extremely spacious room (booked a private) containing two large double beds. Great shower. Room service menu available here too which is a nice touch for a hostel. Would highly recommend staying here in Delhi!

I randomly selected Hindustan backpackers heaven . It has Great ambience. Staff members are polite and respectful. Beds are comfortable. Remember,You have to get your own lock for the locker compartment. They also allow you to keep the luggage in common area after checkout. It was a wholesome experience.

Do not recommend. It’s just a place to lay your head at night (with one eye open). Staff told me there was no AC right now because it “wasn’t hot enough”. Asked again the next day and the man working the desk turned around, flipped a switch, and the AC was on. Had issues with the laundry. Was told not to have American standards of it being done in 24 hours, despite being told it would be ready in 24 hours. Was told the issues I had were because no one can understand my (Midwestern) American English accent. Fine, ok. Staff overall was very difficult and at times rude. Having to be very insistent on what was included in my reservation. The food there was ok. Some of it is just prepackaged and microwaved. Rooms are very run down and nothing like the pictures online. Does not feel like a hostel at all. During my stay, I saw hardly any international travelers. There is absolutely no “hostel vibes”. The room would get so hot and musky smelling if the AC wasn’t running. Horrible area to stay in as well. As a man I didn’t even feel safe staying there. Photo attached is the bathroom window.

Room is unhygienic. No lifting working. No telephone working. TV not serviable even attach in room. AC too noisy. Hot Water coming in 15 minutes. Nothing free in included in room. Too dusty. I got sick in an hour here. They charge much but service is like 0 star.

Despite its modest rating, the experience exceeded my expectations. The staff Abdul was incredibly helpful, making me feel right at home. The room was clean and comfortable, providing all the necessary details and recommendations. I appreciated the convenient location, which allowed easy access to local attractions. Overall, a budget-friendly gem that offers great value for a comfortable stay.

We booked initially two nights with booking without any plans for the next 3 weeks in India. Hopefully, Abdul saved our trip and planned everything for us according to the time and the budget we have. The rooms really worth the price with a nice localization. Finally, we booked some other nights in order to secure our last days in Delhi. I Definitely recommend it !

Very helpful and humble staff. I am gratefull to all the people including the owner 🙏. I went there without any pre booking and with my extremely sick child. The owner and staff helped me in every way. They even allowed me to cook food for my child in their kitchen. With their support I was able to see my daughter recover so fast... I definitely recommend this hotel if you want to have a comfortable and good experience

My experience in this hostel was very nice! The staff was friendly and always ready to help me with any question I had. Abdul helped organise a trip when we got stuck because of G20 happening in Delhi. Bit expensive but probably the best we could get in those circumstances. I also did a food tour with Sona, which I highly recommend as well. I stayed in a dorm and a private 4 bed room. The dorm was OK, the beds are comfortable, but the bathroom a bit smelly. The private room was very nice, clean and neat, would recommend. Overall I would stay here again, its a good base to acclimatise and explore Delhi.

Incredibly helpful staff, convenient location - and perfect if you really want to feel *in* the bowels of New Delhi, huge bed, AC, large shower room, local food service, WiFi is great (gets a little slow between 7pm and 2am but that's expected with so many residents), small corner shops on street, many other amenities a 20m or less walk away. Don't try to Uber a car here, roads are a bit tight, auto or moto are fine though! Thank you for having me, see you again in two months!

I had a great stay at Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven. I highly recommend using their airport pick-up to avoid scams for first-time visitors. Believe me, you won’t get to your hostel unless you take an Uber or walk there by yourself! The food and service were great, always attentive and helpful. Rooms were decent with perfect AC. The front desk offered excellent suggestions, enhancing my experience. I'd highly recommend Hindustan by Backpackers Heaven for a hassle-free, enjoyable stay.

I always stay in Hindustan by backpackers heaven in Nawla street of Paharganj. Their service is amazing and staff is very cooperative, helpful and nice. Always tried to solve any issue as soon as possible. Hostel is clean and comfortable with all facilities. They help sometimes to wait in common room even if we checkout due to our train timings. We ordered food today and food was as per choice less spicy and perfectly served by food service in common room and food prices are normal and reasonable, food was very delicious and we enjoyed alot. I think this is my permanent hostel to stay in Delhi as I can't go and try other hostel as compare to it in affordable price. Thank you to all hostel staff for this best service.

This hostel was okay to crash in for the night as it’s within our budget, not much entertainment or much help with booking tours and things like that. The rooms where nice, as the bed was comfy, however our bathroom had a hole in the wall. But that was 2 years ago, looking at the new photos of the hostel now they look like they have improved big time!

I was upgraded to Hindustan By Backpackers Heaven on my first trip to New Delhi in January and I am so lucky! After a little bit of a nightmare transit, I arrived to the warm, professional welcome of Walim at the front desk. I enjoyed a queen room with a bathroom and balcony which looked out onto a relatively quiet street. Travel agent Abdul was also very welcoming, organising an Indian SIM for me and recommending a good place to eat, Malhotra Restaurant. He was really helpful advising and booking all the travel requirements for the following week for my boyfriend and I. I am especially grateful for the assistance of all the staff who helped my boyfriend look for his lost luggage. Although the hot water was a bit hit and miss, I would definitely stay here again for the service and hospitality. We also had a fantastic driver called Prasad who was booked through Abdul of Travel India One Day. He was punctual, thoughtful and reliable. He drove us from Delhi to Agra over 4 days. We loved our time with him.

Had an awesome stay! Spent 3 nights here in the middle of Paharganj which is a great neighborhood for tourists by the way. The staff, especially the front manager receptionist was extremely accommodating and courteous. Rooms were clean, common room is extremely comfortable, and the hostel doggy is a great bonus. Also not to mention great location as well, as it is only a 5 minutes walk away from Ramakrishna station.

Such a helpful group of people! Figuring out transportation in India can be a little tricky, but these guys made it so easy for the three of us traveling together. With their help, we were able to book our bus and train tickets to Agra and Varanasi all at once. Their hostel, Hindustan By Backpacker’s Heaven , is warm and welcoming. We stayed in a private room which had everything we needed to unwind from the hustle and bustle of New Delhi. Highly recommend!

The place is okay, the price is good. The people here are really friendly, you will get a good advice about the area and India in general. However the area around is a little bit special. It was our first days in India and it was really a culture shock. Quite loud at night, but thats India. If staying in this area, its a good place to stay. Good eats around.

The place is not run properly. They didn't have space in the AC dorms hence I was given a non-AC dorm but it wasn't in a good condition. The staff was arrogant and talked sarcastically when I tried to check in. It should be noted that the place isn't run as a proper hostel should be run, it used to run so before covid. It is now run by the hotel which owns the places and only provides services for stay. The room wasn't clean and the toilet was worse. The room didn't get any sunlight or proper window ventilation.

First off as many have already pointed out its a bad neighborhood and the room wasnt really clean. When we arrived another customer complained about BED SHEETS BEING REUSED!!!! So disgusting but honestly it wasnt the worst thing. A guy who was working there pretended to help us with our scam (Yes we were scammed and lost around 100€ per person) but accutally he was trying to set us up. As we found out he denied everything but suddenly was extremly upset and angey. So henmade us pay for an extra night after we just missed checkout time because he was "trying to get our money back". We also had to cancel a train which cost us a fortune in the end although he promised to pay for us...of course he did not. Yes we were naive but these people are not alright I tell you. Its your choice whether you still wanna go there but always be careful, good luck!

The hostel has very well maintained and clean rooms. The location is very near to new delhi railway station and all the necessary shops are outside the place. The hotel is more than amazing for the price of Rs. 1200 per night. The area around the hotel is unhygienic, however, after crossing just 1-2 lanes, it gets better with too many options to shop and eat from. They have laundry and food services available as well for a decent price.

I liked this hotel so much. I have booked this hotel through online and there is any time cancelation policy. I got this booking at reasonable price. Specially I am very much impressed with Circle shape Beds in the room. Road to reach this hotel is very congested and Hotel is also old building. But still maintenance of the hotel is good

Good, budget friendly and safe for tourists stay.I stayed in dormitory of 8 bed. This place is a bit internal(100 m approx) from main market but at walking distance. In neighbourhood there are hotels with all tourists staying .Dormitory is good but need small repairs like bedside fan not working, ventilation in dorm,AC is too small for dorm room.Shower head was not working in bathroom,One drainage was clogged.Except these everything is good. Please note - They have provided lockers to keep your valuables but you need to bring your own lock for securing it.

Great staff and service! Excellent and very helpful. The rooms are alright, first hotel-stay in India so it might be good or might be bad, i dont know yet. But its clean and thats all that matters. Its located in old Delhi which is for my experience not nice. But if you like the true Delhi experience its located perfectly.
