Doctor Zakir Hussain Museum is located on Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Marg, near Jamia Milia Islamia University, Okhla, Delhi. Dr. Zakir Hussain was treated as the most learned person. He was the founder member of Jamia Milia Islamia University, its Vice-Chancellor and the third President of India. Personal items used by Dr. Zakir Hussain and many more are on display. Many of the items displayed are very old & unique. Zakir Hussain Tomb is also situated nearby. Check Museum opening and closing timings ( 4 PM) before visit. Nearest Metro Station is JMI. Photography is not allowed in the Museum. Do visit Doctor Zakir Hussain grave/Tomb located in the same complex. Both Museum and Tomb are small and simple. Only few people visit this olace. Do visit and pay homage.

Zakir Hussain Museum Delhi Words seem to fall short so as to describe the great deeds and tremendous efforts put in by this intellectual after whom this museum is named, Zakir Husain. He was not only the third President of India but also an educationist who was one of the guiding force behind the famous Jamia Millia Islamia. Along with that he also served as the vice chancellor of the institution from 1928 and with his efforts made Jamia Millia Islamia a part of India’s fight for freedom. The museum finds its place in the premises of the institution and honours the remarkable works of the late President of India. In the first place, the tourist spot was constructed as a mausoleum in the year 1972, which with the coming years became a museum housing the essentials of Dr.Zakir Husain. Mementos, memorabilia, and photographs of Zakir Husain are put on display for the public who want to know more about the educationist. MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MUSEUM Some geological specimens are put on display along with the personal things of Zakir Husain. The Bharat Ratna Award with which Dr.Zakir Husain was honoured can also be seen in the museum. VISITING TIMINGS: Monday to Saturday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Closed on Sunday Timings may change on Gandhi Jayanti (2 October) ENTRY FEE: No entry fees ADDRESS Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Marg, Jamia Millia Islamia, Azim Dairy, Okhla, New Delhi, Delhi 110025 HOW TO REACH Jamia Millia Islamia metro station is located 350m away from the Zakir Hussain Museum. The metro station falls on the Magenta line of Delhi Metro and is the easiest way to reach the museum.

Title: A Treasure Trove of History and Culture at the Zakir Husain Museum in Jamia, New Delhi The Zakir Husain Museum, nestled within the picturesque Jamia Millia Islamia University campus in New Delhi, is a hidden gem that showcases the rich cultural heritage and history of India. Named after the former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain, this museum is a testament to his passion for education and preserving the nation's legacy. The ground floor exhibits primarily focus on Indian history, with sections dedicated to the Indus Valley Civilization, the Mughal Empire, and the British Raj. The artifacts on display, including pottery, coins, and weapons, offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of people from different eras. The intricate miniature paintings, particularly those from the Mughal era, are a treat for the eyes, showcasing the skill and creativity of the artists. One of the highlights of the museum is the section dedicated to Dr. Zakir Husain's life and contributions. Visitors can learn about his role in the Indian freedom struggle, his time as the President of India, and his commitment to education. This section serves as a tribute to his life and work, inspiring visitors to follow in his footsteps. The Zakir Husain Museum is not just a repository of historical and cultural artifacts; it also serves as an educational institution. The museum frequently hosts workshops, seminars, and educational programs for students and researchers, encouraging them to explore and appreciate India's diverse cultural heritage. In terms of facilities, the museum is well-maintained, with adequate lighting and signage to guide visitors through the exhibits. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, adding value to the overall experience. However, it would be beneficial if the museum provided audio guides or more detailed descriptions of the artifacts for a better understanding of their historical significance. In conclusion, the Zakir Husain Museum in Jamia, New Delhi, is a must-visit for anyone interested in Indian history, art, and culture. It offers a rich and immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression on its visitors. The museum serves as a tribute to Dr. Zakir Husain's vision and commitment to preserving India's cultural heritage, making it a valuable asset to the nation.

This place has the Museum and Masoleum of the third President of India. He was also co-founder of Jamia Millia Islamia. Museum contains mostly photographs of Dr. Zakir Husain. A few 3rd BC items from his collection will surprise you. Manuscript and other memorabalia from his Germany days are present. It will be good if the place contains some audio and video recordings that Visitors can play.

Will take max 20 min to explore. No entry fees i.e. good. But the accountable person should maintain cleaning of each artifacts and the trivia of each picture. I didn't know where to complain... Just let me know after the updates and then I'll delete this review.
