Apart from Sunderwala Burj, Sunderwala Mahal, Mughal Caravan Sarai & host of other monuments, this 16th Century Lakkarwala Burj is also located in Delhi's iconic Sunder Nursery Complex. The complex was reopened in February 2018 after recent renovation undertaken by Agha Khan Trust Foundation. 16th Century Lakkar Wala Gumbad stands tall even after 400 years & is beautiful. Surrounding is awesome and painting inside the tomb is amazing. It has got beautiful plaster work on tomb (inside & outside). It is one of the UNESCO's six heritage sites within the 16th Century Mughal period Sunder Nursery which has got awesome landscape & host of beautiful Tombs, lakes & palace and rare native trees, bird species, butterflies & unique pink cedar tree, which is said to be the only tree in Delhi. Enjoy, better to visit during day time (Closes at 4 PM). Do not forget to buy plants.

It’s a quiet and beautiful place inside the sunder nursery at it’s extreme west edge. Entry to sunder nursery (entry fees Rs 40) will take you to this gumbad and few other Mughal era structures. The nursery has its own parking and restaurant. It’s a well laid out park for picnic n games with the glitter of history

This domed, rubble built, and externally plastered building occupies the centre of an 8’ high platform. The monument, with arched openings in each of its four sides has profusely ornamented interiors with Quranic verses in incised plasterwork encircling the room. Conservation works on Lakkarwala Burj, which is a nationally protected monument included repair and rebuilding the western façade, restoring decorative plasterwork in the muqarnas and ornamentation, re-installation of jallis, internal and external flooring, restoration of parapet wall.

A beautiful world heritage monument sitting in a lush rose garden. Very pretty, very peaceful and very tranquil experience. Surrounded by a large lake and beautiful pavilions. Built atop a high arcaded plinth, this lofty domed mausoleum is entered through lofty arches in each of its four facades. A vaulted chamber was built abutting the western archway, in the Mughal-era itself, possibly to serve as a residence for a caretaker. The monument is profusely ornamented with exquisite incised plasterwork on both the exterior and interior surfaces; polychrome geometric patterns, muqarnas and calligraphic verses embellish the interiors of the tomb. Major conservation works were required to be undertaken on the structure to ensure authenticity of material, prior to its inclusion within the World Heritage Site.

one of the most beautiful gardens in india an hidden jewel. sundar nursery. Must visit. better than lodhi gardens Sunder Nursery is a 16th-century heritage garden complex adjacent to the Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Delhi. Originally known as Azim Bagh, it lies on the Mughal-era Grand Trunk Road, and is spread over 70 acres. The garden was originally built by the Mughals in the 16th century. Today it contains nine heritage monuments, including ASI-protected Sundarwala Burj, Sundarwala Mahal and Lakkarwala Burj. During the British rule, nursery was established to grow experimental plants, which gave it its current name, though much of the original garden was thus lost
