Anand Restaurant, located in the heart of Connaught Place (CP), is a culinary gem that truly captures the essence of Indian cuisine. With a history dating back several decades, this establishment has established itself as a go-to destination for authentic North Indian and Mughlai cuisine. The ambiance at Anand Restaurant is a delightful blend of tradition and modernity. The interior decor exudes a classic charm with rustic wooden furniture, soft lighting, and vintage artwork adorning the walls. The restaurant's soothing and inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for a casual family dinner, a business meeting, or even a romantic date. Now, let's talk about the food. Anand Restaurant is renowned for its delectable array of dishes. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. From the moment you step in, the aroma of spices and grilled meats sets the stage for a culinary journey. The tandoori dishes, especially the succulent kebabs and the famous butter chicken, are nothing short of a gastronomic delight. The biryanis are aromatic, and the variety of bread, including naans and parathas, are made to perfection. The service at Anand Restaurant is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to offer recommendations. They make you feel welcome and ensure that your dining experience is memorable. While the food and service are exceptional, it's important to note that the prices at Anand Restaurant are on the higher side, but the quality and taste make it worth the expense. In conclusion, Anand Restaurant in CP is a culinary haven that takes you on a flavorsome journey through the heart of North Indian cuisine. With its charming ambiance, delicious food, and impeccable service, it's a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic dining experience in the heart of Delhi. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, Anand Restaurant promises a delightful gastronomic experience that will leave you craving for more.

I think their biryani is very good, tried mutton curry , which was good too. The taste of curry is the same as i had 10-15 years ago except I remember earlier the food was much spicier.

Probably the best biryani you get near Lajpat nagar market delhi. The taste of the biryani is impaccable and the way chicken was cooked was satisfactory. Also tried authentic butter chicken and naan which was also good. I would not suggest kabab though it was insipid. Ambiance of the hotel is old-school. Sitting arrangement is normal though its fully air conditioned. Overall experience was nice must try once.

A very old place but the food there has been absolutely brilliant, all through the years. Be it their mutton curry, butter roti, biryani or anything else, the food is just too good! The place might seem a tad "different" to a few, but the food needs to be tasted to be believed!

Their mutton dishes are the best. The roganjosh is amazing, just melts in your mouth and has good flavours. The place is quite small like an average roadside dhaba but the food is good.

Good restaurant for non-veg lovers. Their speciality is "Chicken Biryani", which is too good. Portion size are also very good of all the dishes. (Please check before order so that food don't get wasted). Interior wise it could better, we found lights were too dim. Hygiene maintained by them was ok, table and chairs were clean. Payment mode:- Only Cash / If you pay by card they will charge 5% extra on bill amount. Also when you pay the bill, they would ask if you wish to pay tip for waiter. That's totally up to you if you want to.

The place is very old so don't expect ambience as per CP but the biryani is not your usual biryani, it's something worth more than the price ..

I have heard a lot about this place. So I went there to have Egg Biryani (because I don't eat non veg). However, the biryani was not as I expected. It was merely average. It wasn't spicy or oily or anything. It looked and tasted like ordinary cooked rice. And for egg briyani, there were two boiled egg between them. Don't specially head to this place at least for egg biryani. I don't know about non veg items.

Anand Cafe radiates charm just like its super cute owner β€œKshitij” The warm ambiance and delightful menu create a cozy haven. The personal touch from the adorable proprietor adds an extra sweetness to the experience. A hidden gem where the owner's charm is as irresistible as the delectable treats. πŸŒˆβ˜•

Location is not difficult to find. i heard about this a long time ago and decided to give it a visit. This restaurant is a hub for People who work nearby to get meals for the day. They serve both vegetation and non-vegetarian food. Sufficient space for dine-in. Staff and service is really good. I tried chicken biryani and Non-veg thali. This place os famous for biryani and its really worth visiting. The texture of chicken was very soft with flavours added on top of rice. I loved it.

  • 5/5 Shikha T. 2 years ago on Google
Top notch. I love it's Mutton Biryani. I absolutely love it's Chicken Paratha, which is different from their Chicken Naan(yes they have both!). Have ordered from this place many many many times and the taste is always great. Try their Fish Biryani. Visiting it actually could be a little jarring at first since it is a humble establishment but it could be a very unique experience.

Service is fast and it is famous for its biryani(I consider it is a pulao as it rice are tossed in Chicken/mutton gravy in pan,No Dum)But their Mutton and chiken curry is tasty)

A proper dhaba ambience with proper dhaba food at a reasonable price in delhi. Location can be a disappointment, Its located inside a lane just infront of the Janpath Market.

The restaurant calls butter chicken their speciality but I personally liked the briyani and chicken korma. The place has 80's restaurant vibe, sitting there eating feels like you have gone back in time.

  • 1/5 Subir D. 2 years ago on Google
Do not go here for the 'biryani.' Pouring curry on fried rice does not make it a biryani. The mutton seekh was okay though

  • 3/5 Alok P. 2 years ago on Google
I must say it was not so good as people are rating their meat .. it's okay okay u can have once or twice ... They should definitely improve the taste.. it can be better

The curry is too good. Didn’t like the chicken portions but yes if you are a true lover of good desi food then this is a place not to be missed. Has been in operation from the last 45 years and is a family run Dhaba. Hasn’t changed since the time beginning and brings in the old delhi feeling .

Went there after seeing postive reviews but after having lunch (Afghani chicken, mutton curry, chicken biryani), I was little disappointed as the food taste was not upto expectations

  • 4/5 Alok S. 1 year ago on Google
It’s one of the oldest places where you get the typical Delhi biryani with gravy and they’ve been luckily been able to maintain their flavours and standard with time without getting compromised. On OG biryani place definitely must visit!

Food is good, not very heavy. Service is fast. People are good. But order carefully, their normal roti is of 9 rupees but with butter it costs 30 rupees. Strange!! Overall its okay!!

  • 5/5 Abhishek P. 2 years ago on Google
The taste of the food and ambience is still the same from all those years. We dined in and loved the food as usual. Mutton biryani is the USP. if you're looking for mutton biryani, there is no other place.

  • 3/5 Shweta S. 2 years ago on Google
Anand Restaurant is an old dhaba style set up. When you will enter this restaurant, you will get a feeling of entering a 1980's era. It is still maintaining that aura. No changes at all. The food over here is very simple. Less spicy and basic, almost home like. I won't say that it is too good..but people are just in love with the place as I observed looking at the crowd. So, dig in to the different dishes they serve and let me know whether you have liked it or not. *NOTE: I'm an honest reviewer. Do not think that I'm sharing all good things just because I'm paid to do so. It is straight from the heart.

If you are looking for a fancy place or value ambience more than food, then this place isn't for you. I ordered chicken special biryani (their speciality, as told by my friend) and chicken korma. Chicken korma was like ordinary chicken curry you get in local street stalls. Very disappointing it was. However Chicken Biryani was awesome. Though the potato heaven factor was missing. But the biryani will remind you of Home made rice mixed with chicken kasa (a bong dish) topped with some spicy , lip smacking mint-garlic-onion chutney. The biryani is a must eat.

I ordered chicken masala, chicken biryani and butter naan. When call the restaurant the person said they offer free delivery and after the order dispatch he said i need to pay 50rs to the delivery person like seriously after placing an order of 800rs he is asking for delivery charge and food was pathetic and taste like stale. Chicken piece were too large and absolutely dry and was just mixed in gravy and biryani and a strong smell of some preservative coming from food.Totally waste of money..

Come here for food and service only. Portion sizes are higher than expected. I try to come here evertime I am around this place. Never disappoints. It ain't your typical quaint place where I'd go on my first date because it might feel like dingy at first, but would be a deal breaker if she didn't like it on the subsequent ones.

It has its ethnicity but the taste and quality is high degraded. I ordered mutton biryani and found chicken pieces in it. And the fish curry had stale fish. The staff is very rude and mannerless. Very bad and third class ambience. Not a worthy place to go.

This place has been in C.P. for eternity. If you genuinely wish to eat great food (veg/non veg) at reasonable prices, then this is the place for you. The entrance looks doughy AF but that's where you'll find most of the 9 to 5s working in C.P. getting their afternoon bite. Note: they still get you cold drinks in glass bottles 😁
