Very beautiful place, neat and clean and well maintained. The cathedral is artistically built and you can enjoy it's magnificent beauty from the huge lawn. Scented flower planted around it makes it more palatial. It has serene beauty and one can pray peacefully. You can feel the serenity of heart and peaceful bliss. Even the hard hearted soul will melt and get transformed for better.

A very lovely, peaceful and beautiful place to be. Amidst the serenity of Lutyens Delhi, this Church is a delightful sight to behold. Be there on Sundays. You won't regret spending your weekend there. (Beware of the guard, people say he's wicked)

Cathedral Church of the Redemption in New Delhi, also known as the Viceroy Church, is a church in India. The church is located east of Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan, formerly Viceroy House, which was used by then British Viceroy. The Cathedral Church of the Redemption serves the community through its activities in education and health. Music of the church is still on its organ built in 1931. Notable organists who played on the organ since its inception, were Sergeant Desmond Pye, Arthur Mahinder who played for thirty-two years and Bobby Chandy. The Cathedral Church of the Redemption traces its origin to the early 1900s. when the Reverend T. R. Dixon was appointed as the Chaplain to meet the spiritual needs of the British officers in the Capital of India. The Cathedral was built in eight years and was opened to public worship on Sunday, 18 January 1931.

This church also called viceroy church that was built in 1931. This place is close to Rashtrapati Bhavan. This church is really beautiful when it comes to architecture made in the british era and viceroy also lived in that church.

Had a wonderful Christmas Eve at the Cathedral Church of redemption which is situated nearby Rashtrapati Bhavan. It's a huge church with massive prayer hall, gardens around were also beautifully decorated and well maintained. The environment is really peaceful and pleasing a must visit for people of all faiths. Merry Christmas🎄

It was my first visit to this church despite living in delhi for so many years. And the moment I entered the premises, it felt wow! The architecture is beautiful and equally beautiful is the surrounding of this area. It feels like you have been cut off from the outside world and entered a different one which calm, peace and serenity. The inside of the church is equally magnificent and grand. I really loved the musical stage they have built on a certain height. Looks and feels really empowering. It is a must visit place, no matter in which faith you believe in.

I went there on 25th december to celebrate christmas day. But here, like all the rest, the church was not decorated. I think its fairy church, But people were worshiping with great faith, that's one of the main thing i like there. It's one the older church in Delhi. So to spend some peaceful time its good to go there...

Hidden deep inside the lush green Lutyens zone and near to the side entrance of the Rashtrapati Bhavan is the Cathedral Church of Redemption. The church which provides a grant space for believers to connect with God is also an architectural marvel with a great dome and beautiful capitals. The church also houses a pipe organ which is a rare sight these days in all new churches made across India. All in all a must visit if you are in Delhi.

Christianity in Delhi dates back to the of Akbar's reign. Akbar was popular for his secular way of thinking. He had invited a Jesuit priest from Goa in 1579 to receive knowledge on Christianity. Since then there has been several rise and fall of Christians, as per 2011 Census 0.87% residents of Delhi are Christians. There are several churches in Delhi that holds immense historical and cultural significance, some of the popular names are Sacred Heart Cathedral Church, St James Chrurch, etc. On Christmas, though the spotlight remains on Sacred Heart Church, i personally felt Cathedral Church of the Redemption is much more grandeur with a large green lawn in front , gardens on the back stood the majestic, beautiful piece of art, culture and heritage. The Cathedral Church of Redemption, also known as Viceroy Church was built during the viceroyship of Lord Irwin. Built by architect Henry Medd, the design overwhelmed Lord Irwin himself. With not much crowd and basking in the afternoon sun we spent a wonderful Christmas evening in this church.

This beautiful church is located near Rashtrapathi Bhavan, in New Delhi. As a visitor or tourist, you’ll love the architecture of the church and also the campus which is well-maintained with lawns and trees. If you want to attend the services or take part in prayers, it’s one of the best churches in the national capital. Go for it! The church has a peaceful environment and has a great vibe – good place to pray.

Heritage church of Protestant denomination, once called as Viceroy Church. Sunday - prayers 8.00 am in English, 10.00 am in Tamil, 11.45 am in Hindi. Altar is an unique blend of Catholic and Protestant worship. Has an age old pipe organ. Architecturally beautiful well maintained religious place.

Also known as viceroy church. The building was designed by Henry Medd. The church has beautifully curved high arches and delicate domes. The story of the Cathedral Church of the Redemption India revolves around its journey from an Englishman's congregation to a multicultural one. In its diversity and its community work, the present Church has come to fulfil the founders' vision of a common home, a meeting place for all sects and creeds. Tucked away from the bustle of New Delhi, in the quiet Church lane north of Jaipur Column and to the west of Parliament House at North Avenue, stands the Cathedral Church of the Redemption India. The Church's centralized plan blends neatly with Sir Edwin Lutyens city plan. With Viceroy Lord Irwin's keen support, the Church, built on Henry Alexander Medd's (1892-1977) design, was opened for public worship on Sunday, 18 January 1931. H.A.N. Medd's design was inspired by the Palladio Church of Il Redentore in Venice as well as Lutyens Hampstead church. The Church, a witness to nearly eight decades of history, is a sanctuary of quiet meditation, prayer and generous giving. It is home to a vibrant parish and a wonderful tribute to Indian Christian life.
