St. Stephen's Hospital

Private hospital

😠 Unhygienic toilets, rude management, rude security gaurds and nurses they dont know how to behave with patients and thier attendants. Unfair charges and deliberately late dischage strategy to make money. It feels like jail when you admit ur loved ones in this Hospital cause they dont allow visitors... People often mention hospital, staff, doctors, patient, good, treatment, money, doctor, Hospital, patients,

Went there as a medical student on exchange. I enjoyed doing rotations in various departments a particularly general surgery and orthopedics- the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I learnt a lot during my stay. The accommodation facilities and food were decent and came at a reasonable price.

My mother was pregnant 45 years ago, though she delivered there smoothly, I was not released as my father did not have enough money, some how he has to ask relatives and sell engagement ring to arrange enough money to let me go home. Request staff to be a bit benevolent. I don't remember the name of people there as I was just born but can you please ask those people to consider poor people with kindness so children like me can go early home ? After all I was going home for the first time in my life so was eager. Sorry if I hurt someone.

Never go to this hospital if you have insurance. They will make bills of lacs even without diagnosing anything. My mom got admitted and was there for 4 days but the doctor couldn't find out the reason that was causing pain in her leg and still make the bill of more than a lac and even having cashless insurance I need to pay there a sum of it

St Stephen's Hospital Delhi is one of the oldest and the largest private hospitals in New Delhi, India. The hospital today has 600 beds and is presently a superspeciality tertiary care hospital offering comprehensive care covering all major clinical specialities and most super-specialities. The hospital was centrally located in old Delhi and was the first hospital solely dedicated to the care of women and children in Delhi. The hospital was known for its thorough hygiene and discipline. Although the hospital initially first lacked both resources and staff, it began to take off in 1891. The hospital is also one of the major teaching hospitals offering speciality and superspeciality courses affiliated to the National Board of Examinations and recognized by the Medical Council of India. The hospital also won the national award from the National Board of Examinations for the excellence in teaching in the Diplomate of National Board programme.

This hospital don't have good doctors and nurses. Their main focus is on making money only. Dr. Rasbeg is one of the worst doctor of this hospital. Never ever visit this hospital. Whenever a patient visit this hospital they will try to loot his family by doing unnecessary tests and doctors do not visit this hospital on time. Nurses steal your medicines and sell them in the in medical store. When a patient dies the doctors call the security guards and beats the family members of the patient.

The baby's General ward is so dirty, that they have baby bed just next to the open toilet in the ward, the ward toilet is the dirtiest then the public toilets, wash-basin is leaking openly in baby ward. 2 or more people most of the time remain in the General ward with babies whereas only one allowed there. They make so much noise in the ward which is disturbing for babies.. Atleast Hospital should take of these basic things in Baby's ward atleast.... . Specially cleanliness and a closed toilet and water leaking problem from wash-basin. Otherwise doctors treatment is so good there. They do not keep patient unnecessary in the hospital for making money.

I delivered my first baby( 2015 )in this hospital so had a trust on them so went to the same hospital second time but this hospital has become worst now..though Dr Asha Sharma is only genuine person in the entire hospital and is amazing doctor. Management of the hospital has become so greedy and only believes in making money. Pathetic condition of the washroom and room. After charging so high for a private room they dnt even provide a small bed for the attendant. If in case you admitted here in maternity ward all important test and even drips can only be monitored in Labour ward as if they nurse in the private ward can only give you medicine n basic injections. You can only meet ur attendant at 10am..thats the weirdest thing as a patient has the right to meet his/her family at point of time but the nurses in this hospital will keep on waiting as they wouldn’t let you meet attendant before time..had the worst experience in this hospital and had to shift to different hospital at the last moment coz I was so sacred that the management wouldn’t let me meet my husband even in case of emergency

They admitted the patient in Isolation ward very easily one year ago and the very next day doctor creating no hope for patient, Doctor duty is to build the hope in patient and his relative even after worst condition of patient. But I think the super mistake is done by the hospital senior staff who gives them chance to join the duty. At the time of admission, the patient's oxygen level was 76, which was not so poor but we afraid because of going down saturation level. We decided to admit the patient. Ours biggest mistake was to admit the patient in this hospital. I still remember the name of nurse who called herself Dr. Harleen... my foot.......Patient was admitted in isolation ward for 6 days…and after 6 days they handover his body only. Never recommend this hospital to anyone….. People who is reading it, please do not ever go in this hospital so your loved one could be saved.

Just two days back my father got diagnosed with the Gall Bladder Perforation. I.e, A hole in his Gall bladder. We have admitted him in the St. Stephen's Hospital of Delhi located in Tees Hazari. It's been two days here. And their CT Scan machine is still not working. Which is according to the doctor is very crucial in knowing the causes of his illness. We have talked to every possible department in the hospital regarding machines but everyone has done nothing but played the blame game. We even tried to lodge a complaint in the Public relations office regarding this. But rather than showing empathy and accepting any kind of responsibility. He said - what can we do if our machine is not working! Is this response even acceptable or legit? After questioning him back he gave an example that if a car gets broken in your home and it can't get repaired then can you do anything. Like it's not a hospital but a garage instead! Because of all these things my father is not getting the further treatment of the specific problem. He's surviving on the basic treatment! To everyone who is reading this. Please make a better decision and take your loved ones to a better hospital. Don't do a mistake of coming here. As no one takes care of you. They only care about not getting blamed! And continuously play with their words. And make you run from one place to another with your patient!

There is no hospital worth even a penny... Money is made just by reporting, they will make 30k-40k, that's all that is required of you brother or sister, take it somewhere else if you wish, it is better...

This Hospital's washroom should be always neat and clean to avoid any infection. Expenses should be fairly levid on patients unnecessary charges should avoid and there should not be any money making statragy planned by Hospital personalls like late dischage, delay in billings even patients asks in morning to be discharged but Hospital gives discharge in evening deliberately late to make money for the whole day this is wrong and this should not be happen it is not good for customer interest and satisfaction. I gave one star just because of hospitals doctors experience and how they handle critical cases to make them stable.

Will recommend people don't go ever in life in this hospital, pathetic services given by staff, behavioral issues with patients relatives. Cash/receipt staff not supportive & co operative . If you have a health insurance with any agency they will not consider it properly nd if u ask them to send for review to insurance agency for further clarification bcoz they don't want to work they just want the money they will not send bcoz ... They will be happy only taking cash payment from u nd finish it. I would like to aware people please make sure before going there .. There are other good hospitals where you can visit but never in St Stephen please ..

Considered as one of the Best Multispecialty Hospital located in main city of Delhi especially for emergencies cases. It is a trustworthy hospital, because of its services and care given by doctors and nurses who are doing excellent service. In fact, it has been an integral part of the healthcare revolution of modern India serving the mankind since 1885. All departments are present in the hospital like Cardiology, Dental, Gastroenterology, Medicen, Neurology, Nephrology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Uerology, Gynecology, Pharmacy is also available in hospital for 24×7. Every staff in this hospital cares about the patient in a very goodway. The treatment is advanced in terms of facilities and types of equipment to treatments for everyday ailments, bring relief to patients from all walks of life may it be rich, middle, poor. It uses state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge surgical and medical techniques to deliver outstanding outcomes. Every doctors in this hospital are very talented have experience in decades. Paramedical college with in this hospital campus for student easyl understood for their positions for physiotherapy, nurses, radiology. My spouse had a fracture she was admitted to hospital for Orthopedic implant/device for bone fracture under Dr. Mathew Varghese. She was taken to the operation theatre(OT). With the state of art machinery in OT it was discovered that the healing was in progress and we can forgo the operation. This shows the doctors are not business oriented to increase the billing and exploit the public to fill their pockets. In a second incidence my wife had acute chest infection, Dr. Rohit Mahajan and his team who took care of her gave proper advice and precautions at necessary times in a friendly manner. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses who rendered their service with love.

Worst hospital.... They are just focusing on looting the money from their patients. For a minor disease, they will try to exaggerate it and transfer the patient to ICU/Mini ICU to mint more money. The the staff doesn't provide basic care, we had to finally move our patient to different hospital and all parameters became normal.

One of the oldest hospital in the Central Delhi established since 1925. Most of the deaseas are covered for treatment in the hospital. Nicely maintained hospital with best medical facilities on reasonable rates compare to other hospitals. I had been to the hospital to see my relatives admitted in the medical ICU. Unfortunately she could not survive due to medical complications of her health condition.

Admitted pateint for Isolation ward and when left for home they called up that they have to shift to icu due to some issue after one day they put the patient on ventilator even patient oxygen level was fine and they just need to make charges also there is lack of experience doctors available and they just treat the patient without consulting any senior dr and mainly age between of doctor 28-35 not more than that. They just not create hope for relative and they asked different disease day by day and asked that no chances of recover from the first day of admitted patient which is the worst thing for hospital. I will not suggest anyone to go st Stephen's and before admitted just see the senior doctor availability in the office.

Worst experience ever!!! It's not a hospital but a money minting scam. Doctors hardly care for patients. Treating doctor comes once a day in the morning and does not care to listen to patients' concerns. They would just have the patient go under different tests and don't inform the patient or their caretakers of the result. All in all not satisfied with the treatment and had to take my dad to a different hospital.

I am pleased to say that the exceptional care provided by Dr. Akhil, Dr. Prerna, and Dr. Jacob at St. Stephen's Hospital helped me recover from a left shoulder dislocation. Over the course of 20 visits spanning 30 days, I received attentive, patient, and effective physiotherapy that helped me regain almost full mobility in my shoulder. The staff was welcoming and respectful, and the care provided by these three doctors was outstanding. I would highly recommend St. Stephen's Hospital to anyone in need of physiotherapy or other medical services.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Attitude of doctors and staff - Asking questions about the treatment is crime and they might start shouting at you. Very Expensive and They try all the possible ways to make money. They don't mind planning wrong treatment for making money. My patient was surfing from dengue and need plazma .Dr.said around 12 o'clock that it's urgent because patient's platelates count was 20 thousands and urgently arrange doner for blood.i immediately arranged 4 doners and donate blood around 3 o'clock and blood bank said that you can take plazma within one hour but Dr.was not aware about that and their was Big communications gap between blood bank /ward sister' and Doctors. After a long fight plazma was available at 10.45 PM . Please don't ever consider this hospital.

I want to ask HOD of st.stephen's hospital, what kinds of doctors u have, r u only for making business with patient's health or what? Plz take some action on that doctor. I didn't admit her and after 15 minutes she was all good. These kinds of doctor always think that we are only a money making Machine.

The Hospital has an excellent Clubfoot Clinic. The Clubfoot Clinic is operated on Every Wednesday. A General OPD Fee of Rs 300 is required to be submitted (For some cases it is Free). The clinic at present is on 4th Floor. The staff is cooperative. The Star of this Department is Dr. Mathew Varghese. He is truly a God walking on Earth. Then there are expert Plaster Technicians. The most senior is Suresh Uncle. He is a expert in Ponsetti Techniques (A serial casting done for curing Clubfoot). The usual crowd is 30-40 Kids on Wednesday. So it is not highly crowded compared to other Premier Hospitals in Delhi. After plaster treatment free shoes are also given. If you can afford, then imported shoes are also made available at some cost. Nurses are strict, which to some people may seem rude but they actually maintain proper discipline. The location is just opposite the Tis Hazari Metro Station.

@Physiotherapy Dept. I have visited the department for 2 separate problems. Shoulder recovery after Minor fracture and recovery from back pain due to straightening of spine. Under the directions of Dr. Jacob, this department is one of the best department in all of the Delhi. They work with every patient at an individual level. They also encourage their doctors and intern to be more curious and innovative. You wont regret giving this place a chance.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL. Attitude of doctors and staff - Asking questions about the treatment is crime and they might start shouting on you. Very Expensive and They try all the possible ways to make money. They don't mind planning wrong treatment for making money. My patient was in Emergency when we had to discharge and right away admit in another private hospital. Please don't ever consider this hospital.

The behavior of all the employees inside was good, but we were meant to be fine which I did not think of the treatment there. One of the good hospitals in North Delhi area in terms of infrastructure and services. All kind of medical check-ups and services are available here. Staff members are professional and helpful. Being a pvt. hospital charges are a bit higher but still manageable. The place can be easily accessed using public transportation. Vehicle parking is available on chargeable basis.

Had a pleasant and good experience with the hospital. Visited multiple times for different purposes. Located approx 3.5 km from the Delhi University North Campus. Nearest hospital to DU is Hindu Rao govt Hospital, but St. Stephen's is more cleaner and more prompt with their services and provide good medical services. The charges is obviously higher but are reasonable and manageable. Good for DU students to keep this as an option for seeking emergency medical help. Staffs are helpful amd caring. Only once in a while, I got to see a few unprofessional staffs and doctors. Autos rickshaws are available in plenty.

It was a good Hospital but now it becomes worst one, poor structure and Interior. Poor treatment given. They treat patients like hell even in private ward. I never suggest to go this Hospital, poor food, most of the doctor are not so qualified, they make sir interns in OPD, even Tirathram near to this hospital is more far better in every way.

I recently visited Dr Deepak Chopra, cardiologist. I can certainly say that I have never seen a more pathetic human than this guy, let alone a doctor. The way he talks feels like he has not been brought up among humans, he lacks humane values and traits. I would strongly suggest to visit any other doctor if you have any respect for yourself.

My mother was admitted to neuro ward on 23rd January which proved to be a killer ward . After 5 PM none of the senior doctor is available there. Though she had acute Pneumonia she was given curd on the very first day. She was never given diet on time as the duty nurse was always busy in paper work. The care of a patient was of least importance for them. They are merciless as how can an 80 plus patient who is conscious and giving good response be shifted to ventilator where her condition further deteriorated. Whenever she complained about the system the doctor was never polite with her though he knew that she had hearing problem which usually people have at this age. I condemn their rude behaviour. Why was experiment done on an aged patient.? Why was there no transparency in her treatment?

I came here for the emergency eye treatment of my niece. Dr. Jasmita Popli said, her eye is in bad situation and we cannot save her eye now, you should come in 6 hrs of the affect. Also, she has mentioned, we cannot save this eye and another eye could lost functioning after sometime, in the effect of sympathy of another eye. Her mother start crying at the same time, because their eye sight was perfectly fine at that time and doctor said some heart & soul broken statement. After that we went to Dr. Sharoff eye hospital-Daryaganj, and they told us nothing to worry, it's not complicated and we will do the surgery. Now my niece is fit and fine and enjoying the recovery period. We have observe Dr. Jasmita Popli was not professional for the situation and don't know how to responde to such situtaion. Also she misguided us about the situation.

I'm extremely happy to share that I've had best experience at Physiotherapy department of St Stephen's hospital. I had osteotomy of left knee and had severe restrictions in the knee mobility but the treatment given to me has made me have a good quality of life which I enjoy today! A special mention about Dr Jacob kurien and Dr Akhil Sharma who has motivated me the best both clinically and mentally.

As i admitted my father here and kept him here 4 days in ICU, 3 days PostICU, 5 days in ward. Doctors and ICU team are best. Post ICU staff is not that caring. Some delays in process are definitely there. U have to push everyone. Overall experience is very good. My father is safe now. Thank Doctors and team. Hospital charges are also very genuine and affordable for mid class people

Had been suffering from an elbow injury which was diagnosed as Tennis Elbow. Just finished a15 day course of physiotherapy for this, under Dr Jacob, the head of the physiotherapy department, and in the able hand of physiotherapist Aman Negi. Could not have asked for a more competent and concerned team! For being nearly unable to use my arm, in 15 days, thanks to their attention and treatment, it's now almost fully functional. Was really impressed by the entire department, but especially by these two gentlemen. I strongly recommend this department for anyone will needs physiotherapy.

Unhygienic toilets, rude management, rude security gaurds and nurses they dont know how to behave with patients and thier attendants. Unfair charges and deliberately late dischage strategy to make money. It feels like jail when you admit ur loved ones in this Hospital cause they dont allow visitors more than one. Worst waiting area very unhygienic with full of dengu malaira mosquitoes. Worst and rude PRO I ever seen he only takes side thier employees and staff. PRO should not be there as he is useless. Morning Senior staff nurse of children wards was too rude she is spoiling Hospital's name by her unprofessional behavior I will never visit this Hospital and will never recommend anyone.

Worst to worst hospital. I have never seen such a bad hospital even Government hospital is much better than St. Stephans Hospital. There is no limit on charges. Unprofessional staff, rude management, rude security guard, rude nurses. Once the patient is admitted, you will never know what the doctors are doing with the patient. They just allow to meet patient only one person one time in a day. I have seen this hospital as money minded hospital. My brother-in-law had paralyze attack but he was in completely sense till 4-5 hours of attack but within 15 minutes of his admission in ICU, he has lost his sense. I don’t recommend this hospital to anyone. Nursing staff and security guards are very unprofessional..they don’t know how to behave with attendants.

He guided us for the surgery; The entire team of doctors, paramedical staff and other staff supported us fantastically and now my father is doing well. A big thanks to the hospital and the entire staff. The experience has been really Awesome. I urge from the core of my heart that more people should come to the hospital better healthcare. One can get very good support and healthcare from here.

I must share my experience for medicine department. Good doctors there, especially I offer my thanks to Dr. Shailendra Kumar. An excellent doctor. He gives a honest review of patient condition. I admitted my brother in law there with very low platelets. He recovered well within 5 days under his supervision. I am giving 4 star because of general ward condition in not good, should be improved. Thanks again.
