Most of us rely on big brands and indie designers to stock up our season wardrobes, but there’s a whole other charm in buying the fabric, hunting for a design and then a tailor and getting some bespoke awesomeness for your closet. Looking to buy fabric? Shankar Market situated close to Connaught Place is where you should go. Where: Opposite Connaught Place, M Block What to buy: Benarasi silks and brocades, Odisha Ikat and block-printed cottons

Very good market near super bazaar in CP. Kind of hidden market, not very visible from main road. All kind of cloth material is available at reasonable rates. Vide variety of different kinds of Indian and western dresses available. Whereas most the main CP shops are branded, here brands are less instead small shops with very good collection. Others daily need items and stationary available. Good cheap eating options like rajma chawal, kadhi chawal cheap available. One moong dal golgapa street vender is there with very tasty golgapa. Uniqueness of this market is very colorful graffati on top of shops which give a very unique look. The pedestrian walkway is covered so no problem in sun and rain. Toilets are clean and parking available.

Shankar market was set up around 1945 and is known for fabrics and tailoring for women. There used to be few second hand book stores here too. Pandemic has affected the business. Go there to also admire the street art done by Delhi street art

Neat and clean market. Has parking. Lots of small shops for all kinds of things you don't typically find easily in the NCR everywhere. From buttons to trailers to repairing suitcases to an über cool library/book store hybrid shop. Neat place!

I went to Shankar Market in Connaught Place, Delhi, in the morning and had so much fun! The market has lots of shops where you can buy different things like food, clothes, and stuff for school. I liked that the shops opened around 10 or 11 in the morning. It was nice because you can take your time and look at everything. The market is in the middle of the city, so it's easy to find. There are shops with colorful things like pens, notebooks, and art things for school. The people who work there are nice and help you find what you need. I got some cool stuff for my school. I also saw shops with pretty clothes and cool things to wear. They have Indian clothes and modern clothes too. It's fun to look at all the different styles. The best part was the food! I could smell yummy street food like chaat and kebabs. I tried some and it was delicious! They have sweet treats too. I had a really good time at Shankar Market. It's a happy place with lots of things to see and buy. If you want to have fun in the morning and get cool stuff, you should go there!

A market for varied needs especially clothing sarees and other wearables. Parking is tight, shopping is bargaining and good tea shops to keep you incentivised enough and It's CP without Rates of CP.

Very good place to buy fabrics and dress material. Dont miss aalloo tikki and aalloo chaat roadside. There is a roadside guy (very kind hearted) who sells nameeks, potato/ banana chips, murukku etc. Do buy from him.... The stuff is tasty and economical.

Shankar Market is an iconic place, which carries it's own culture and is hub of beautiful collections of colourful fabrics, endless varieties of dupattas, ready made garments, with seasoned tailores available to get styles stitched to your needs!! We have litreally grown up wearing collections from this place, it's in heart of CP and a must visit place for unique shopping experience which no online thing can ever match!

This place has a good variety of female suits stitched and unstitched both. Easy to access. One can find other shops also, eg. Kids toys, stationary, dye walas. Nearby to CP in Delhi.

I went there with my family, This market is mainly for suits, sarees and some kids collection but I don't like this market except 2-3 shops as Prices for Suits are generally higher than usual prices, 1-2 shops are expensive coz of expensive fabric and they are genuine also.. You will get genuine famous Lucknow Chicken fabric and opposite to this shop you will get Silk range.. All these 2 shops, I feel like they are selling very original fabric..

Good market to buy clothes for women, men & children ( all type of variety available except for wedding purpose). Home furnishing items local and branded like Bombay Dyeing, Trident, Wellspun etc also available. Some good eatry shops, stationery shops and Narula पनीर shop is also there in the market. Parking no problem but charges are high.

This market is a hub for fabrics for Indian outfit . Dealing majorly in cottons and it's variation. Prices are comparatively high as it caters to very good quality cotton . Bargaining is tough but if you want cottons for daily wear especially unstitch you may have a look

Once a prime market of Delhi...it's struggling for it's existence in comparison to the booming CP next door. Old styled shops selling suiting shorting and allied...a few stationery shops...infact it's a good market for household shopping for nearby residents. Friendly shopkeepers It's a compact market with corridors to provide shade. Plus point...i got free parking. An old charm market
