This is my main Macy's store to visit before going anywhere else. This store is where I know I can find anything from makeup to undergarments to home decor. Always top quality in their products, the staff is friendly and helpful if needed. They also allow you to roam around the store before purchasing anything. This store has a food court. I love the ambiance; always fun and inspiring windows to look at for all seasons. Depending on the times you visit, the main floor is a bit crowded, and I love when the store showcase FIT students' work (see pictures). The store is clean, neat, and very organized, and I recommend it to any department store customer.

This store has to be part of your trip to NYC (if you like shopping). It is such an iconic and historic shop, and it has everything. Most of the brands are there, and it is segmented in several floors. I went some time before Christmas time, and the decoration was already there. On the top floor there is an outlet with very good prices. So if you are in NYC for a few days, and don't have enough time to go to the big outlets outside the city, try this one.

To be greeted by staff as they line up and clap while signing welcoming the first customers through the doors is a fantastic treat. Well done to all staff making us feel so special. All staff very friendly and helpful great value on many items in sales up to 55% on some great brands

Macy's is a shopping paradise that embodies both tradition and modernity. Its vast array of departments offers a wide range of products, from fashion to home goods, catering to all tastes. The iconic Herald Square location is a magnet for shoppers, while the store's historic significance adds to its charm. The seasonal displays and events provide a touch of magic to the shopping experience. A great shopping center where one can find anything their hearts desire. We are here right before the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New years holiday season. As such, I will show some of the beautiful decorations on display.

One of the must sees of NY. This place is nostalgia on steroids and my six year old loves this place. Highly recommend the ninth floor for great deals on furniture. Toys and the wonderful displays are on the eighth floor. Plus size section on the seventh is a lot of fun, as are the restaurants. My son could spend the day here easily! Minus one star for all the escalators out of operation.

Macy’s is THE hub of Herald Square. With so many departments and floors, you are guaranteed to find something to take home- even if you promise yourself that you’re just browsing the store. Although you can easily shop online, there’s nothing like actually touching the fabric of that great jacket, trying on those super cute boots, or having that great fragrance spritzed on you so you can smell extra fancy and high class while shopping for your children or your man. (FYI- the Men’s department is phenomenal!). Check online beforehand because the prices are unbeatable when shopping during a sale at Macy’s! As a native New Yorker, I make it a mission to bring my mom to Macy’s every year to view the Holiday window displays. Each year, there is a new theme- and they are as beautifully creative as mesmerizing- to both children and adults. If you’re visiting NYC, definitely stop by West 34th St, and swing by Macy’s. Especially during the Holiday season! They actually decorate the windows and interior for different seasons and occasions, so depending on when you visit, you’ll get a one-of-a-kind view of the store. Even if you don’t buy anything, there are cafés upstairs- tons of items to inspire- and the old wooden escalators that are definitely reminiscent of Macy’s younger days (my mom calls them the “Titanic Stairs.” 😂 🚢). They are eerily fascinating- and feel like you’re on a museum ride! ✨ There is outdoor seating available. And lastly, there are restrooms throughout the store open to the public. Because when you’re shopping in NYC, these are ALWAYS important to locate. 😉

If you have to go, you have to go (but if you can shop online, I'd recommend that!) It's obviously a very busy and very famous department store, but it's eclectic enough that there's something for everyone. The Sales around Black Friday are very good: ~30% in sports brand areas like Adidas and ~65% off of Macy's products like Christmas decorations. I'd avoid coming here at lunchtime on the weekend, but it's nice and festive if you can take the time to mosey around in the mornings. Don't forget to travel the original wooden escalators and find the giant piano in the basement!

Macy’s is one of a kind store. It’s insanely big with so much variety that it would take days to go through stuff. We were lucky to get some great discounts in the Christmas season sale, otherwise it could be really expensive. But then where else can you get massive selections of each brands and also the last sale section in the back which can also have some great finds! The store itself is gorgeous and with enough staff to help you around! I loved it!!

You must see this place and shop here on your trip to NYC. The decor inside and out is incredible. If you are looking for something this store has it. And make sure you visit the top floor to see the Christmas ornaments for sale. And ride what appears to be the original wooden escalators which is worth the visit alone.

Nothing better than Macy’s at Christmas time. If you want to get into the spirit of the holidays, just walk down to Herald Square and check out the Macys windows. This year they were beautiful with carousels, and they had a new feature, which was interactive where you could press a button and take a picture of yourself inside the window. The store is wonderful and if you wanna put a smile on your face just take a walk down.

Always amazing. Never disappoints! The selections are beyond. 7 floors. Options for everyone. If you do not like shopping then this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! Clothing, jewelry, accessories, housing needs, jackets, kids attire, toys, food, shoes… not much they are missing. Always a stop when in town. Store is kept impeccably clean and lots of bathroom options when traveling with little ones.

Great store to shop. It is the biggest Macy’s in United states. There are 7 floors and takes the whole block. Macys do beautiful decorations every Christmas and makes it more special. There are many sales going on there and a huge collection you will ever find. This store has all the brands and there is 7 floors dedicated to men and women’s collection also there is household collection available and a dining area with rides and more available on the top floor. If you want to explore this whole place it can take up your whole day. Must visit during sale time. Might not find offers like this anywhere

Macy's at Christmas. There's nothing like it. The holiday windows are always so fun to walk past, but the inside of the store is just as magical. Floor upon floor of fashion, makeup, etc. Nice and bright and clean. Super helpful staff. Even if you're not in the mood to shop, it's worth walking by the decorated windows. It's such a New York tradition.

Another great stop on our walking tour of Manhattan. The window displays were still a huge draw to all. Found great sales the day after Christmas. Found it funny when it came time to leave. We saw a ton of exit signs but couldn't find an exit door.

I like the old time feel of this store. You'll see what I mean if you ride the escalators to any floor. There are still wooden elements to these electric stairways. I'm sure they have been updated but you might get a sense of what it was like about 100 years ago to ride these. The store itself is always decorated fully for the Christmas season. The front window displays are always picture worthy, so bring your camera..or a cell phone. You'll get a beautiful view of the Empire State Building right outside the store as well. If you go in looking for the restroom, you'll be better off asking a cleark for directions. You can get lost in here easily. This store is a must see if you're visiting around the holidays.

One of the most beautiful shops to visit in all of Manhattan. This is located near Penn Station, making it a prime location and easy to travel to. I went there during Christmas and the lighting and decor was amazing to watch. The interior of the shop is also beautiful although their clothes are quite expensive hence I opted not to purchase anything.

If you love to shop, Macy's is THE place to go. Every kind of makeup & beauty counter is there with readily helpful friendly staff. Perfumes, phones and watches to clothes, games for every age, sweets and treats, candles, everything you could imagine. Also had to look for the massive piano from the film Big with Tom Hanks and yes, it is there.

I absolutely adore this Macy’s that dwells in the heart of NYC. Starting with the architecture and design. Each season, Macy’s windows are adorned with murals that are encompassed with morals, color , and glamour. Moreover, it is extremely convenient. Say I’d like to purchase an item in the Gucci and in the Chanel. The usual occasion would require me to make separate trips. However, the Macy’s is filled with dozens of well known brands and labels. They have shoes, cosmetics, clothing. All-in-one! Additionally, they have a Starbucks in the store—what is more perfect than hibiscus tea while shopping? I would recommend the benefit brow bar- they do a great job at shaping, waxing, and tweezing your brow! Hope you enjoy your visit to Macy’s as much as I always do!

What an incredible store, with so much to see and do. The departments cover so many brilliant items and the prices of items range from affordable to high end. Staff are friendly and helpful and as a person that avoids shopping wherever possible, I really liked Macy’s.

This was fun Macy's at Thanksgiving, thank you for the parade, we had private accommodations and it was great 2023. The department store was 9 floors and acre per floor, what fun, a must to do. Forget parking, walk or Subway or cab.

It's the biggest mall. And it really is. You can spend a lot of time walking around, it's 7 stories. The architecture is interesting since some very old designs and construction is intact. I bought in several occasions and the customer service is attentive and top notch. There are some really good sales too.

We never miss an opportunity to shop at this location when we visit NYC. We've wandered around this store for hours. The service is nothing less than perfect and the care taken with decorating this store is second to none. I love the original escalators. This place is an institution.

Macy's on 34th Street in Manhattan is one of the last of the upscale department stores left in Manhattan. The reopening of the store after being closed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic was a sign for many New Yorkers that the city was on its way back. Macy's annual Flower Show closed last week. Its always a great place to see flowers -if you are in New York when the show i son, you should definitely go there. Visiting the store itself is something everyone should do at least once, even if you have no intention of buying anything.

Super dope store. The customer service is great. Everything you need is right there. This store really brings the joy and fun of Christmas. I think this is by far one of the best Macy’s in New York City. Whenever I visit it here, I feel super happy with the Christmas spirit. Trains are nearby and this store is super easy to get to.

A shopping-landmark in New York, a must see especially on Christmas Time, with its lovely decorations or during thanksgiving and the popular parade. Outlined over 7 floors, offers from make-up to clothes, shoes, home and toys. This department store has some kind of a vintage hint, maybe because of the unusual division inside, maybe for the wooden stairs. Worth a visit.

Went to Macy's to get some shoes and came across this incredible pair from Armani in the images. They were absolutely superb! But, tough luck, they didn't have my size. Ugh! Well, at least I had a good reason to be excited about those shoes. Hoping to find another amazing pair soon! Keep on searching

Come and get the good deals in the world’s biggest store. The crowds are coming back and so are the deals. I used to shop at this place for clearance items daily, when I used to work on 35rh Street.

The store is one of remarkable places to visit in NYC. There are more than six floors in that store. It also has restrooms. It has been divided to into different sections. Prices are vary but mostly as usual macy is pricy but this one has some offere and no clearence sections. The store is clean and nice to visit.

Super busy and large Macys, it’s normal for places like this in the middle of NYC 😁 Lil pricey if you wana compare to other locations and I think it’s normal 🙂 welcome to NYC. 😎 I am surprised that this place wasn't run down like everything else in the Times Square. Whole building maintained well.

Huge useless store with overpriced merchandise. Just a loss of time. I wish I went to Marshals - locals recommend this shop instead. Prices are sky-high, and the choice of men’s outfits is mediocre. Finding a restroom is a quest. Hint: restrooms are near the elevators, but not on every floor. Consult the directory near the elevators to find the nearest floor with the men’s restroom. The only worthy things are escalators and elevators: these are historical wooden items (photo) Interesting stuff to gaze at.

It was great getting to walk through this iconic department store. I didn’t buy anything this trip, but enjoyed the experience. The layout is odd - men’s clothing in between women’s sections and so on. There didn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to the placement of merchandise. It was also fun seeing the wooden escalators, but getting on was a little awkward, so watch your step! Overall a nice visit!

Macy's Herald Square is my favorite store in the world. I love the old building & the floors serviced by the original elevators & wooden escalators. They carry everything a person could want from great quality products, clothing & shoes that are designer & non designer. I love their service & courtesy of their staff. If Macy's ever left NY I would think of moving. They bring class to NY.

One of the long standing holiday traditions in NYC is stopping by Macy's on 34th street and Broadway. I come every year to view the shop windows along the sidewalk - recommend a night time visit to get the full lighted effect. Inside the different floors offer many goods - they always have something. And the main aisle on the ground floor always has wonderful holiday decorations running the length of the store. Going between floors I recommend taking the escalators near the back, the higher you go the more original they become giving you a walk back in time from when these wooden escalators were a modern invention - and what a grand impression that would have been made on shoppers in those days.

  • 4/5 Paul M. 3 months ago on Google New
Visited this iconic store during a recent visit to New York. The Christmas window display and lights are impressive and certainly create a wonderful atmosphere. Inside is huge with something for everyone. I was looking for some Christmas decorations to take home which took me to the top floor in their Christmas section. Unfortunately I found it to be very uninspiring with items I could easily get in shops in UK at lower prices. I did price some suit cases also however despite their sale price found them to be more expensive for the same model at home. That said I would definitely recommend a visit.

Once again. I give another chance to Macy’s and it’s customer service and it didn’t disappoint. It keeps getting worst and worst. This time I went to the diamond section to ask for the cleaning service and the person who assisted me(I think it was the manager) didn’t have clear information, had a lot of attitude and did not want to help. Decided to leave. Will never come back. Can’t keep making this mistake.

It should go without saying how pivotal a role this department store plays in NYC history. And yes, some of its recent history has involved unfortunate moments regarding racial profiling. Trust me, I don't ignore those facts of life in America. All that being said, especially in the age of Covid, this store has gone above and beyond the demands of returning costumers in these trying times. A more diverse staff, a completely remodeled interior, many sales and merchandise to be had. Sadly, the food courts do not allow indoor dining. Thankfully, the pedestrian plaza in front of Macy's more than makes up for that!

  • 5/5 Kelly C. 2 years ago on Google
Macy's at Christmas is a whole new level! AN entire floor is dedicated to all of their ornaments, tress, and decorations and makes me feel like I walked into a Christmas movie. Magical!

  • 4/5 Dejan B. 1 year ago on Google
London, Paris, New York - each of this world metropolis has its own famous department stores, and they have many branches all over the countries, but only one is the main from which it all began. That's the case with this Macy's at Herald square on 34th St, just a block from the iconic Empire State bldg. We didn't come to shop, just entered and roamed this huge edifice occupying the entire block. You can find everything you might think of, however cannot comment the prices - I presume they're higher than elsewhere. Therefore, it was a pure touristy visit for us after visiting the Empire.

  • 4/5 Anthony O. 1 year ago on Google
This is more of a mall than a store as you are able to buy at individual stands instead of a general checkout. The place is big and you can find a lot of things, however, the organisation needs to be improved. The lifts take too long and stop at every floor and some of the items that share a floor don't really make sense to be put together. If not worth going to get what you need.
