This ER is the absolute worst! I cannot understand how it’s still running! My mom went in for back and jaw pain and it took 45 mins for a nurse just to call her in! Even after calling her in, the doctor barely spoke to her regarding her symptoms, prescribed some medications, and simply just discharged her. Now when it came to the prescription, we tried calling every pharmacy we were members of, and those prescriptions were nowhere to be found. I called the hospital once again, only to be transferred multiple times and half of those times, the representative hung up. We called the company only to find out the prescriptions were never sent by the doctor!! And mind you my mom’s symptoms kept getting worse without any medication! I went back to calling the hospital once again and ended up wasting my time again!! PLEASE DONT GET ADMITTED HERE!

The physician in charged clearly hate his job should go back to school and learn some empathy for the patients. Everyone in the ER are just pathetic find another career stop wasting the publics time. If you value your life stay away from this 3rd world hospital.

When you go into the ER they don't listen to what you say, everyone walks around like they hate their jobs. They tell you wait on your results n take like 6+ hrs for anyone to even tell you if the results were recieved. So slow!

Worst! Inattentive doctors who sleep on the job, came on for chest pain and gastrointestional pain and they didn't even monitor it with an EKG or take my BP after triage (only at the end when they wanted to discharge me). They only took an XRAY, no ultrasound. I was made to clean a filthy toilet seat too, the staff wouldn't get housekeeping to clean it. So terrible...

This hospital doesn’t even deserve one star. The worst place I have ever visited. The government should ban this place. Please everyone don’t come here. This hospital is the worst. The nurses are rude, the security guards never answer your questions politely. They make you sit for hours. This is the worst place to get treatment.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to five birth. It felt like they did not know what they are supposed to do. All they did was rushing us to the process with ended with us having to do a c section. My friend was progressing really well, then at 5centimers her water broke but apparently not completely. They inserted something to try and get it to break but they couldn’t. After that procedure mom Started to run e fever and stop progressing. They were so impatient and annoyed we ended having the epidural which they had to stopp 20mnts later because baby was stressed out which we knew would happen. So we ended up having a c section. Mom was in the ER for hours and i was scared, could stop thinking of the worse. Even tho they tried to be nice at time, the incompetence of this nurses made this experience a traumatic one

My friend almost died because they simply couldn't get a doc to order the pain meds. Terrible terrible place. I'd rather be in jail. This is worse than jail. Godspeed if you ever end up in here. What's even worse is the nurses were chit-chatting and giggling among each other while my friend was screaming for help. Imagine burning pain all over your body for 4 hours....time is very slow when you're in pain....this place teaches just that.

I have been here multiple times and all the times, I was treated kindly, with respect and well looked after. All the nurses and other staff made me feel comfortable and helped me during various vulnerable states. It gets crowded sometimes and you can see the nurses are trying their best to work as fast as they can. Just by being next to some people that go there as patients, you can see they are entitled, rude to nurses and think they are the only ones to be cared for there. It’s truly a shame how some people act when they are sick, and it shows in these reviews too. Anyways, I always had good experiences here so I’m not sure what all these negatives ones are all about but most of them have left very few reviews on google maps and it shows.

Horrible experience! I CANNOT believe this is the service of an hospital! My mom was sent to the ER due to fainting and percussion. She has multiple medical issues along with depression, and she doesn’t speak English. The nurses hang up on me while I request for a doctor to see my mom after she told me over the phone that she was not attended and experience extreme headache at the moment.

I think this Hospital is one of the best in NY I come from UK and using this service at Jamaica has been a good experience.

Pitiful experience. My mom came to the ED after being x-rayed by urgent care and told to go to ED to see an orthopedist for a broken bone. She was there for 6 hours of waiting before they finally x-rayed her again and then 3 more hours before they finally got her a boot for her leg. I understand the hospital has high volume and patients with higher acuity needs which I can understand, but what I can’t understand is why there is no waiting area for family. Family has to stand at the entrance, there is no seating though most people will be here for 5+ hours. Getting information/status updates from nurses varies significantly based on which nurse is staffed at the desk, I spoke to 4 different nurses before I finally got a lovely caring and competent nurse who was willing to check in with the doctor and provide me with an update and estimate. More nurses like this would vastly improve the patient and family experience even if there are long wait times. It would be best if there were two staff members at the desk - one to check patients in, and one to provide updates to inquiring family members.

worse hospital ever , I’ve been here for over 2hours and yet still wait in the waiting room. Emergency waiting room waiting to see pediatrician. And there are still 3-4 people ahead of me. This is crazy.

I came in today because I hit my head and I have an open wound bleeding and three people that came in AFTER me were helped. This is absolutely ridiculous. Then the RN (9:15am) confused my name with a man and put in the wrong information in my profile on the computer. It took three hours to get a bandage and finally get discharged. Everyone INSIDE the actual ER was nice. The receptionist that you see when you walk in is also nice. The lady who scans your eyes was helpful. It was the RN and the nurse helping her that were awful. The nurse took my blood pressure and then decided she was going to go on break. Please hire people who are not lazy for those positions because it’s important. It also leaves a bad impression.

First and last time I am coming to this so call hospital. Almost 9 hours to get misinformation about my wife's pregnancy. They did 2 covid test without any proper explanation. No one and i mean no one gives any attention or information about what is going on. E.R. should not even exist in this place. Its better to die then come to this hospital. I don't understand how this hospital is even here.

This is a very bad hospital. It needs to get shut down. Patient care is unprofessional they have zero work ethics. Yes the neighborhood is ghetto but that is no excuse to talk rude to patient visitors. They're lazy and never answer the phone. They're not a team and they could care less about your family's health. My question is, where is Joint Commission in all of this? Jamaica Hospital does not and will not care about the patients. Too many violence occurs in this hospital. And it makes you wonder why.

I went in for chest pain , That department of the emergency room was awesome the Dr, and Nurses they made me feel better without medication lol , Especially “Jeffrey” he constantly checks on the patients so it don’t seem like your just waiting and he is a bundle of joy. The Dr. Also comes to check on you that really made me feel cared for I truly appreciate it. A million stars to Jamaica Hospital emergency in Queens NYC usually you go to the hospital some make you feel like a burden or your problem not important they really made me feel like my problem was as important as anyone else’s I Thank them so much everyone in that emergency room starting at the front desk Thank you Thank you because I was so scared……..

This is the worst hospital in the entire tri-state of NY NJ CT. Every time I come to this hospital I leave in either a worst condition or I'm never seen at all. I'm absolutely sick of it and this place needs an overhaul of re-training for every last bit of it's staff. So tired of going to an ER THAT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT MAKE YOU WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE YOUR TEMPERATURE AND TELL YOU TO WAIT ANOTHER THREE HOURS BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE A DEEMED, "EMERGENCY"

Dr Silverman in the e.r. Said he couldn’t see anything he was squinting at a very visible cut and tried to talk me in to getting a circumcision That was the most insane conversation ever He’s too old

Brought my mother here because she recently had a seizure and was in a lot of pain despite given medication from Forest hills Hospital. They took her in the waiting from since 5pm and just left her there. Eventually they gave her pain killers and took her urine. I waited about an hour and went to ask if I could go see her. I was told no that she was doing CAT scans. Okay so I waited around 2 more hours and asked again if I could go see what’s going on with her. I was again no that their doing CAT scans. The ENTIRE TIME my mother is texting me telling me they have not done the scans and that she was told they don’t know when they’ll be able to. So they’re lying to visitors about their family members. Do not come here.

if i could give a 0 i would. this place is ridiculous. no soap in the restrooms at all and staff rude as hell! i went there cuz my throat was closing up and was swollen and they told me to wait 4-6 hours to see a doctor . this place is unbelievable. pls don’t waste your time here.

It is upsetting/frustrating when people go to this hospital when they are not okay. The service is extremely slow— I call multiple times and various amount of people stating: “we have a lot of people”. Why does it have to take 6 hours for someone to know what they have. If you have another option to go to— I recommend choosing a different location.

For labor and delivery, this was the best experiece I have had. The doctors Thill and Chen are amazing. They helped my little angel and helped me through a safe fast c section. All of my Rns gave me warm wishes and made me feel so comfortable. Hats off to you all. Thank you!

My partner came in here for an allergic reaction, and felt that the RN was being a bit inappropriate. He said there was additional unnecessary touching (he’s been in the ER for an allergic reaction before so he knows the procedure), and extra unwanted attention. Once he got admitted into the actual ER, the next nurse displayed much more respect and professionalism. However, the RN who was at the door did not.

This place needs to be shutdown! Closed forever! Noo e takes they're job serious... I was in pain for hours... all the doctor said was he'll pray for me then I wA discharged ...sad just sad

HORRIBLE!!!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!! This place does not even deserve 1 star. I have stayed there in the GYN for almost 13 hours.. they didn’t offer no meal or medicine for pain.. all they did was blood test urine test & catscan for 13 hrs. Patients sitting in pain while the nurses find the time to laugh around. When one patient stand up to ask her est. time, the nurse would say your not ready yet.. no nice talking no good treatment it was like patients were beggars… they take 5 hours to get a result back. Reason why we Go to emergency room not to sit and wait 13 hrs. Came home with the same pain.. they couldn’t do any better for me..🥲 wasted 13hrs of my life..

I have a worst experience in my life in the hospital, my father had a minor accident, went to ED. They kept him almost 12hr and discharge him in the morning 5AM. the nurse are just walking around, laughing joking and treat him really badly, they haven’t give him any medicine and meal, while right down in report that they have given him Metformin with meal. My father is 73 yr older with diabetes. Even though they didn’t do the bandages on wounded elbow. They haven’t done any treatment except X-ray .

Thanks to the doctors, nurses and everyone who works here. So kind, dedicated to their job, professional, and always willing to listen to her best, telling everyone I know that Jamaica Hospital is the best. I know this because I worked in a hospital. Not good, I went there for chest pain, did EKG and blood work and 4-5 hours it took to get the results. Not going back.
