Doctor is not bad at this location. But getting to see the doctor need to go through the unprofessional receptionist. 1) No one ever answer the phone or call you back.. The telephone recording say please go through online portal to book appointment / leave message 2) No one never respond online portal for appointment. 3) when you walk to the office trying to book an appointment, and you see there is people inside the clinic. but they say you dont have an appointment, you can not go in.. I just want to book a damn appointment!!! BTW, if you are sick, better to go to walk in or emergency. This location, you can never pass stage to see a doctor.. if you are lucky, your doctor appointment will be in next month or 2. Good Luck dealing with this location..

My family doctor is nice, but making appointment at this clinic is almost impossible. Earliest appointment is usually one month later. What's the point of making an appointment one month later if I'm sick but not sick enough to go to ER? They can easily fix this by only providing appointments within a week but obviously they choose not to. They're basically pushing patients to go to walk-in clinics, but then why do I need a family doctor if i need to go to walk-in every time?

This clinic is horrible. Nowadays, COVID is almost gone, even public hospital is fully opened. They still ask you to wait downstairs lobby till they call you. Their online appointment booking is always not working, then when you call them, the robot will tell you that you will receive response within 2 days even for the Saturday walk in clinic hours. There are so many people live in this clinic, you guys just can not check the schedule and book real appointment for your patient? We can bearly see our own family doctor even now. When you guys switch appointment call by Video call, you guys do not even tell patient on their appointment call, you still tell us your doctor will call you. I am so sorry to say this, but are you guys running busy for helping patients or killing patients. Some of your management please stand out and say something and do something, your patient does not deserve treatment like this, is this your true goal of opening a clinic like this?

I think this clinic uses the worst system for booking appointments. 1. I can't ever get through to a receptionist. 2. I can't ever contact anyone in the clinic. 3. I can't book appointments without going through a ton of hoops. Feel's lazy. So why the 5 stars? Simply put: Dr. Larry Tan. He is the most caring, patient, and personable doctor I have ever had. His services alone make up for all the difficulty I've faced regarding this clinic's lazy electronic system. I have moved now and unfortunately won't be Larry's patient anymore but I wish him all the best. He has made a positive impact on my life. P.S., I cannot for the life of me get through to tell your clinic that I am leaving your clinic (because I moved). Could you kindly pass this message along? Thanks.

I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews but my opinions about this clinic largely echo those already expressed by many others here. The process of booking an appointment is absolutely infuriating and frustrating. They do not accommodate folks who are not computer savvy and cannot read English. All patients, even if they're elderly, must use their inefficient online booking system. They exclusively use this portal to interact with their patients, but it's not a 2-way communication software. You can't message or e-mail your doctor and they refuse to pick up the phone. Oftentimes, you'll wait hours or have to try for several days before you're able to speak with a human over the phone. I would give this clinic 0 stars if I could.

The booking system here is very disappointing. I booked an appointment for a virtual visit, but there was no link for the visit sent to me then the system automatically sent me the no show payment for $50. Why didn't the system generate the link once I completed my booking?, but so ready to send an automatic massage for the no show fee? So disappointing.

All of the bad comments are ture about the clinic. Bad receptionist and I especially disappointed with Dr.Renzhu Tao she is very unprofessional, rude, bad manners, arrogant and never on time!!!(she doesn't care about your time) Even if you get to see her she is not helpful at all, she doesn't give you a chance to speak and do everything minimum, being lazy to know you and ignoring your concerns. I dont even know how she became family doctor with that attitude.(she will look down on you) She is stubborn, she don't really paying attention of your concerns, appointment with Dr.Tao either short or rushed. I regret not reviewing reviews before I signed up with her. I would not recommend her.

WORST RECEPTIONIST EVER. Inefficient, impolite, unprofessional, disrespectful. Takes ages to handle trivial tasks, like booking or handling completed forms. Shows no respect to anyone, verbally and behaviourally. Doctors are okay, kind and knowledgeable. But the clinic staff? WORST RECEPTIONIST EVER.

Very disappointed that this clinic doesn't accommodate elderly patients that are not tech savvy. They don't answer phone calls and when asked to return a phone call they sent you online message via portal without much detail. This clinic needs to make a big change in terms of ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES!

I signed up with Dr,. Tan as recommended by my dad at the end of 2019. I gave up on him and switched to another family doctor mid-2023. Through all these years, we’ve never met, he doesn’t know how I look (phone consultation only), never ever put a stethoscope on my chest. This might be acceptable at the beginning of COVID, but in 2023? I already went to other specialists, took my mom to hospital ER, but he still refused to see his patient in person. His clinic is ALWAYS closed and locked. Even if you have an appointment (my mom had one with another physician in that clinic), the receptionist will only open the door at the exact time, you just have to stand outside in the corridor. Talk about the receptionist, she NEVER answer the phone, ALWAYS goes to voice mail. To book an appointment, they have a web-form, but the standard wait time is four (4) weeks! If I can wait for 4 weeks, then I might as well not having a doctor. No wonder the hospital ERs are so packed, because of doctors like him who won’t see his patient and make them wait for 4 weeks. And yes, both my parents have switched to another family doctor now.

Extremely bad customer service. Getting an appointment with this clinic is nightmare. Doctor didn’t fax the prescription to pharmacy. This is not the first time they did that. I recommend to people to avoid this clinic. A bunch of unprofessionals are here. Also, the COVId lockdown is over but still this clinic doesn’t accept in person patience. They are abusing the healthcare system.

I don’t easily leave negative comment but the services from this clinic is extremely disappointing. The doctors are decent but the service desk staff make inquiries and answers very inaccessible. They kept telling you to leave comments on their online platform which is difficult to use and has different languages spread in front of you. It goes to show they aren’t willing to invest in building a proper online platform for patients to use, imagine the boomers and elderly using this platform? It’s a joke. They also don’t return phone calls and kept pushing patients to check their emails. Lots of things get lost in translation in written form, so it’s hard to understand when clinic staff try to answer my questions via email. Also, COVID is past us now so I don’t understand why the clinic staff and doctors are still this difficult to reach. Very very frustrating.

I foolishly became a patient at this clinic without reading the reviews, but I am actively seeking a new family doctor. I was happy to find a clinic that provided service in Cantonese, but the problem is they don't provide any service. It's absolutely impossible to speak to a human. They take a week to return any phone messages and the online portal is incredibly ineffective. I've gone to more walk-in clinics since becoming a patient here than I have my entire life because it is near impossible to see my doctor. I needed to get a mandatory shot during my pregnancy and it took them five weeks to book me for an in-person appointment, after weeks and weeks of leaving messages. Their online portal doesn't even give you an option for in-person appointments. Save yourself time and frustration.... Don't bother with this clinic. I don't know how they can respectably call themselves a medical office.

I saw a lot of comments saying the customer services for the receptionist is really bad which I totally agree. The doctor is good, but the receptionists are really rude. They don’t talk to you in a nice way, and they question you a lot when you have questions instead of finding a solution. Hope the clinic can find some professional receptionist.

Worst clinic I’ve ever been to. Will look for a new place. The doctors here are not bad, but the receptionists are incredibly unprofessional and arrogant and careless. They treat you like you are a trouble. They keep charging you $$ and hold you from the doctors when you ask for a not so common service and do not tell you the total cost at the very beginning. You will end up paying a lot of $$ to finally get what you ask and they refuse to explain. Update: we found a new family clinic. Nonsurprisingly, Yonge Sheppard asked me to pay a transfer of records fee. They just don’t let go any last chance to rip off their patients! “Please note that our office does not take patients back once transferred.” Thank you!

reception did not reply the message. the voice machine said it will reply to you for 3 times if you did not pick up. however, it seems it called me for once when i was not able to pick up, and never did that again. i tried to contact them later on, it never went through. one thing so disappointing is that the website has the only contact for the phone number which loops you back to that website. you end up in such a circle without being able to contact the clinic at all!

DO NOT waste your time here!! AVOID this place, the worst clinical ever. Period. Others reviews are all completely true. No communication whatsoever at all with this clinic over the phone. Doctor always rushed to hang up your phone call appointments. The only prompt service (literally respond to payment within hours) is when they request payment! Even that, it take them a weeks to process what your requested.

I should have read reviews before booking an appointment. It was so difficult cancelling my appointment since they don’t answer phone calls or have a direct email address. 1. You have to book appointments months in advanced. 2. They don’t send you reminders. 3. If you cancel the day of (no cancellation policy stated) they’ll invoice you $30. Simply put: avoid them.

After reading a lot of these reviews, I bitterly laughed because every single complaint about rude receptionists and impossible to talk to humans (especially during covid) is true. I've never seen anything actually get a 1.6 star rating (at time of writing) on Google, so I felt the need to chip in. I've been seeing Dr. Lau ever since I was a little girl in 2000, long before the office moved to its current location, and the receptionist has always been this miserable. However, Dr. Lau is a fantastic doctor. He's attentive and caring, and has the right mix of empathy and analytical thinking to provide exceptional health care. I trust him, and he has never made me feel like he was rushing through appointments to get to the next patient (and I happily wait through these delays because doctors don't know why we're seeing them until we're there and we all want to be taken care of.) Dr. Lau is very hardworking, and from the other reviews, it sounds like most doctors here are simply working insane hours, and it seems unfair to give this place a poor rating just because the receptionist is bad. Having said that, I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because reception and customer service does matter. The online system is fairly intuitive for booking virtual consults, but if I need to reach the office on more urgent matters (that don't warrant going to an ER) I should be able to talk to a human being during reasonable hours instead of being forwarded to voicemail right away. Also online appointments have to be booked fairly far in advance, and sometimes things pop up and you can't wait a month to see your family doctor, some flexibility in this by way of talking to a human being would be very helpful. All in all, this place isn't as awful as the reviews make it sound. The doctors are busy and the receptionist service could be improved, but there are great doctors here who do care about the well-being of their patients.

WORST CLINIC EVER! NO ONE listens to the phone and it always goes to the voice message. I wanted to visit the doctor regarding my tonsils infection and the clinic told me to book the appontment online which the earliest available date is 3 WEEKS LATER. It is totally unacceptable!!!!!! I would give zero star if possible. They do not care about their patients at all!!!

5 stars for Dr Larry Tan. He is very helpful, caring and knowledgeable and not on a rush he will really take a look into the issue unlike other doctors we went to in different clinics. The clinic is very neat and some receptionist are accomodating esp the one I used to talk on the phone. She helps me very well in booking my appointments.

I booked an appointment and was not sent the link to access the appointment let alone told that it would be online I thought it would be by phone as it always has been done since covid. Because I "missed"the appointment I will not be granted another appointment until I pay the $90 they are even not booking my mom for the same reason. When I tried to speak to someone at the office about this but have not received a call back and it has been months. On top of that they never answer the phone. The communication by the office staff is absolutely atrocious and it has much to be desired

Unlike many others reviewing this clinic, I haven't had an opportunity to deal with the receptionist in person/over the phone at this clinic but I can give kudos to the staff running the flu shot clinic this past winter, along with Dr Larry Tan. While Dr Tan hasn't met my family in person, I can say that he has a very caring and friendly personality based on our interactions virtually and over the phone. He's very patient with all my queries regarding blood work results and is super quick with his prescription submissions to our local pharmacy. It truly is hard to find a Cantonese speaking family doctor that hasn't retired, accepts new patients or is located in areas other than Markham/Scarborough/Richmond Hill and we really lucked out matching with Dr Tan.

I am posting this as a warning to ppl who uses this clinic or considering using this clinic or having appointments. They required patients to wear masks otherwise they WILL NOT let you in, but they DO NOT offer mask to patients. They only give patients a head up 10 minutes before your appointment, then you oblige to follow their instructions/ clinic policy If you want to complain to a supervisor pls play with the Voice Mail forever.

I can only speak to my Doctor, but she's super friendly as I imagine most are. Well maybe I shouldn't generalize. This places problem is: Incredibly awful website (which somehow has gotten better than the past), good luck navigating it. Good luck finding anything. Whether your Chinese or English speaking. Brutal interface Their phone system if you even find the number....is long and awful and they need to fix that. It's so hard to talk to anyone And finally....it's confusing how to actually get in the door since covid as they have a closed door policy. Needless to say....very frustrating process. Convenient location though.

Their current booking system has a huge issue, they do not allow you to speak with them but the only option is to leave a message. Then it takes forever for them to response, way exceed what they said "48 hours". I tried to schedule a visit a month ago, I got a virtue visit appointment today, but it is a 2 hour window you need to stay in front of screen, with camera on, until doctor shows up. I don't know what is going on.

Dr Larry Tan is the best, he is my family doctor , he is patient, empathetic, takes time to explain the treatment, and is a great listener. We were trying to reach him and obviously when we called the front office picked up and because it was nothing urgent, they called us back in 2 days, but Dr Larry gave us his email address and asked us to email him directly in case of emergency, and a few months later I was suffering from UTI and wrote to him directly, he called me in a few hours and prescribed required medication. I only go to this clinic because of Dr Larry Tan.

The customer service from hell. They designed an online appointment system so convoluted gives even an IT like me head-spins. If I designed such a system back in middle-school computer class, I would have failed. The best part is when I raised my concern to them, the service staffs simply blaming my incompetence, then pulls out a booklet of instructions full of fine print. If you wish to demean yourself or enjoy quarrel, go for this clinic.

I was scheduled for an appointment today that I booked 2 weeks ago but 2 hours before the appointment today I got a called from the receptionist saying the doctor is not available today, the receptionist told me she would send me a new date. But as of now, 2 hours after the call, I have yet received any. WOW, what a way to ditch a patient.

If you want to be treated rudely and carelessness, step right up; if you want to pay 30 bucks for the privilege of receiving your own 1-page report, just go there. Yep, a whopping $30, not for life-saving medicine, but for a single sheet of paper. Talk about a steal! And good luck trying to get anyone on the phone or to respond to your messages – it's like trying to summon a unicorn. But hey, can you really blame the front desk staff? She is just following orders from the “office manager" . Hey, here is a gentle reminder: you are running a medical office that should treat patients with care, empathy, and understanding!

My dad asked me to help him write this: Thank you Dr Larry Tan to arrange the CT scan in such a short time for him. He is very happy to find you as his family doctor. Being part of this centre’s patient is definitely the worst thing I have ever done. I have been suffering with stomach issues . It first takes forever to reach the doctor. Second of all the family doctor is so rude. For the phone call appointment it always seem like she is in a rush to go somewhere. Not patient at all and not professional at all. I am going to look a new place now.

They take covid precautions extremely seriously. Dr. Chen Dong Yao took the time to thoroughly check my concerns on my first visit, thank you! Baffled by the low reviews for this location, but it seems people are using their feelings to review bomb, and not the rational part of their brain. I had an issue with the booking and appointment system. It seems inefficient and convoluted but that is where my only issue lies. The actual location is clean and very professional.

worst experience among all health provider. 1. It is impossible to get the call connected. you have to leave a message and wait for reply, but they never recall you... 2. I asked them to resend a link which is already expire, but they said they need to charge me $10 due to security reason. Could someone explain what kind of security is violated by resending a link?

Literally the worst family clinic. I don’t have problem with Dr Yao. But it’s just ridiculous overall service: $200 cost for a MD to fill a form. Took half a month to get immunization record and cost $30. Get insulted by a clerk on the phone for “ missing appointment” after you sent a secure message to cancel your appointment ahead. And they asked you to pay $50 for missing appointment. No thank you.

The doctors are fine, but the clinic was extremely poorly managed. They gave me two opposite answers and they were not reachable when this happened, this caused me miss my appointment. Then they rush me to make another appointment, costing me hundreds + time and I'm not sure if can happen. They always shadow their lack of prudence to make it look like the patient's problem, they were never there to help, they were another problem on top of your health problem. Appointment time slots for me are only 10-12:30 on Tuesdays or 5-6:30 on Wednesdays and the availabilities are only shown 3 weeks ahead, I don't know how this can be enough to help all the patients. Plus, while waiting for your in-person appointment, you have to wait in the hallway until they call your name - there is nowhere to sit and you cannot knock at the door. Anyway, I can't wait to change my clinic.
