I agree with the previous comment - they charged my husband and I 40 lira more than the price they showed us in front of the restaurant. Portions are incredibly small, but the food was delicious.

The worst restaurant I've been in so far,not all meals are priced properly on the menu plus food quality is really bad, they charge 20% service fees for a very poor service. As a first time visiting Istanbul I think such a restaurant gives a bad experience about the tourism in Istanbul.

This place is a scam, we barely ate and was charged for $25 per person. Food not good shisha is very bad!

Food was horrible maybe even expired, service was even worse: two waiters were laughing at us in turkish while taking our order thinking we don’t understand ( saying “they are laughing now but they’ll regret it later” because we were being friendly while giving the order) until I confronted him in Turkish and he kept saying we are joking this is a saying that we always use and it means nothing, another waiter literally left ignoring me while I was talking to him saying how the food came cold and literally tasteless- I left and only payed for a salad and 10% service unfortunately. So DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

1. Outside the restaurant they show you different prices than the menu inside the restaurant. 2. The food you get is totally different from the photos on the menu. 3. You will never get a detailed receipt but instead you get a piece of paper with a number on it (which is the price on the menu with 30% above it (20% unexplained charge and 10% tip).. 4. The food is totally old (meat was cold and bread was hard and vegetables quality was very cheap). I do regret that I've eaten there. 5. The two guys standing outside approaching people are very rude and impolite.

The don’t accept credit card payment, the gave a wrong amount in the receipt, food quality less than normal.

This place serves trashy bad food don’t believe the picture on the menu. It started with the lies of fresh lemonade and it ends up with tang lemonade. We order two burgers and a chicken sandwich the meat on the burgers I had to get a telescopic to find it and the chicken was a slice of spam meat.We ordered fries and they were half way cooked and oily. When we tried to return the food they got mad .

It was difficult to find meat in a 130 TL Iskender Kebab. I have seperated meat, yougurt and bread in three areas of the plate. It should not be worth more than 30 TL. Moreover, their pictures on the menu are deceiving. Don't recommend it. We had to spend 900 TL for a food that should not have costed us more than 250 TL. I am dining out in Istanbul for the last 3 months now but this place doesn't worth spending your hard earned money. Grab your food from any reputed restaurant and enjoy while sitting near the mosque on the water front. Thanks.

I only put one star because i couldn't put 0 , worst cafe in Istanbul, at first they approach us to come in a very rude way , didn't back away , the food was very very bad it was inedible the food obviously has been reheated at least 5 times with oil at least 3 weeks old , the food it self felt like rock and dirt , the service is even worse than the food it self , doesn't recommend even passing near this restaurant , worse experience in my whole trip to Istanbul

I ordered cheese burger the meal like MCdonalds happy meal the hamburger too small and the meat thin and small

We live in Istanbul since three years and usually eat out a lot. We came back to this restaurant that we visited once before the pandemic because we remembered that the Menemen was really good. They still have good Menemen but I want to strongly recommend you to go somewhere else. Your bill will be much higher than you expected. They charge you 20% service fee and the food and drink on the bill are not specified, only the final sum without even indicating that service is included. Our bill ended at 195 TL for two Menemen, one gözlemek, two Nescafé, two orange juices, and two small water in plastic container. When we counted everything we realized that it was not correct, we told them so and then they said the service was 20%. They say this high service fee is common in Ortaköy but it is a lie and you should go somewhere else. Unfortunately this restaurant lost our confidence and we will not come back.

Thé worst cafe ever avoid at all cost. Prices are crazy and they will kick you out as soon as you are done with your food/drink. The staff is unfriendly

🚨 Scammer Alert 🚨 Not recommended. The chicken we had tasted like dead spoiled fish. And the grilled chicken salad was bland and tasteless. The Kompir was fine. Kompir: 100tl Chicken salad: 160tl One chicken shish with rice from 3 days ago: 170tl When they brought the recipe, they had only written a net price without showing any details. We had to request the detailed recipe and they refused, claiming the extra fee was for service (they said it’s 10% and the fee was more than 20%) They’re scammers.

This place is a rip off they charged us 450tl for lemonades In the comments they were making amongst one another. With the people that come to visit our country. They are ripping everybody off. And they're making fun of us while they do it. Please don't go there. There is plenty of other places were u can get treaded like kings

it was beyond disgusting. we ordered pasta, fish, köfte, burger, nugget and chicken. everything was horrendous. the pasta tasted like sweat. the fish wasn’t fresh. the chicken, the burger and the köfte were dry. the nugget were microwaved and so was the rice. and the limonade was premade. the only good thing was the fries. 😠

The waiter hunted us while we were passing by, he managed to convince us to go inside actually as he was kind and talkative, we had the Turkish potato which was insanely tasty, you can choose the filling that you like and it costed 200 TL, that area has so many places offering this potato and they are kinda competing, we also had kunafa which tasted ok but I would say I have tried better, and it costed less than 200 TL, tea costs 50 TL, atmosphere is nice and calm, you get a nice view of the bosphorus

We came from uk and heard Turkish people are very well behaved but this restaurant staff and their dirty rotten food ruined our day. When my children complain about food the staff treated us rudly and bullied us. I would never recommend this restaurant and request to the local authorities to close this place and teach them lessons. Worst place to dine in in Istanbul.

A great Turkish experience, with very good food and service. The host has a great charisma and was extra careful with us even after we were sat at the table - making sure that we got all we needed. Not to forget, an amazing view over the Bosporus channel. Highly recommended!

Don’t come near this place, food is tasteless, cheap quality and very expensive, 2 men will be standing outside the restaurant trying to convince you to come in and they keep nagging and unfortunately we fell for it, my worst food experience in Istanbul

It's overpriced like every other place in this area. Kumpir was tasteless, but we had no problem with the service.

Visited with my family in October, we were drawn in by a guy showing us a menu, we were a little hungry too, ordered 2 pizzas and sojuk with eggs, it was the worst thing we ate whilst in Turkey. The pizzas were small and tasteless and I got about 5 slices of sojuk on my eggs. Tea was also bad.

Great service, prices are a bit steep due to being by the water and mosque. It was the friendly smiles and service that made us walk in. They do sheesha too.

Very bad food and no quality at all. They represented the food cold.. can you imagine that pasta seemed to be long time cooked and with that price was too much expensive. Honestly, I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Kumpir was super cold and it wasn't mixed well. And the bill was more expensive for the quality. They try to cheat tourists. We didn't enjoy the place. Even they charged more money than real price because we counted. Also the toilet was the dirtiest toilet that I've ever seen. Here took 15% tips but it doesn't worth. Not recommended for tourists also residentials.

Nice location and friendly service however our bill that should have been 71 TRL was rounded up to 100TRL as service charge. As a local they will not be seeing any return visits from me.

Great spot if you are from out of town and want to try some authentic Turkish cuisine.

Too expensive and bad service, never going there again

If I could give no stars I would. Horrible place with horrible service, horrible food, horrible drinks, and horrible prices. Ordered 4 drinks and 1 dish of food, drinks were crazy overpriced and super low quality. The 'latte' was a Nescafe packet with hot water but cost more than Starbucks, the 'orange tea' was just warmed orange juice and the food tasted like it had been cooked a week before. When the check came there was a service charge which is hidden from the menu and they added an extra drink to our bill which I had to argue to get taken off. If you are in the area STAY AWAY...just go to Starbucks which is a few meters away.
