My man loooves a bologna & cheese sandwich and when I saw Sax Grille sells them, I had to take him. The restaurant is very clean and the woman who took our order was very nice. Since my man dosen't care for tomato and lettuce, the woman offered the bologna with cheddar cheese and sunny side up egg... and his extra mayo (messy). I just wanted fresh hand-cut fries. As you can see in the pics... he loved his messy sandwich and wouldn't wait to get home to eat it. The fries were soooo goood! I don't know what type of seasoning they put on the fries, but it definitely was Lowery's seasoning salt... it was BETTER!!! Those fries were addictive!

I ordered the Bacon Cheddar cheeseburger with all the fixings! This thing did not disappoint! I wanted something big and greasy! The fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you’re in town, it’s a must go! It was recommended by locals and I see why!

Outstanding meal. Nice kinda funky atmosphere. Any place that volunteers to make fresh coffee w/o being asked gets a nudge up in my book. I had the cheddar bacon burger and it was great. It was literally hefty to pick up. I ordered fries, but while they were great, that delicious burger filled me up!

This place gives you your money's worth along with quality-fresh -hot -delicious.. spoke to owners/operators yep they work fully on achieving the goals of bringing delicious great food to their patrons....

First time visiting Sax Grille. Excellent spicy blue cheese burger and fries. They said the blue cheese and hot sauce was made in house. Signature fries were quite good. The price was more than reasonable. I will definitely be back.

My friend took me here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised about how nice it is. The dining area is immaculately clean (as well as the outside) and smells so good. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, helping me make the perfect selection. I had the Club Panini, small fries, and water. I enjoyed the food and it was very good. The fries and sandwich were warm and tasty. I will definitely be back again and recommend it to anyone.

Last week I had the Biscuit and Gravy and today I had the Garden Goat, delicious! I'll be back to try something new! Inside is very clean and service was quick, coffee was good too!

This was our first trip to Sax, but it will NOT be our last. Walk in and you are greeted with a smile and "welcome to Sax!" Right away you feel at home. The food smells great and the handwritten chalk menu behind the counter tells you the offerings of the day. The prices are really reasonable and the portions are generous. I ordered the turkey Ruben with fries. The fries are those crispy matchstick fries that are delicious and more than a little addictive. The Ruben was a delicious mess. When they say extra napkins and grab a fork, they are right on the money. My wife got the burger (and stole a few of my fries) and loved it. Fresh veggies on the burger topped it off just right. Nice touches like a pickle spear explain why the place is packed with locals. We got a table right away, but there were not many to spare. There is outdoor dining along the front porch and lots of tables inside as well. Still get free refills on soda and tea, and you can't say that about everywhere these days. Down home, blue collar, reasonably priced comfort food that nicely reflects Fort Walton Beach's personality. Stop in, and don't forget the napkins!

Nothing makes me happier than trying somewhere new to eat and having zero complaints! This place is clean, well run and easy on the wallet 😃 On top of all that, the food was Amazing! Total surprise honestly. I got the Cheese Steak sandwich…not one piece of fat at all! Wonderfully made and had me wanting more. The only negative thing I can say about this place is that I was too full to have a reason to stay!!!

This place is definitely on the pricey side. Staff is very friendly. Place is quaint. Drove past it 100 times and never noticed it. Went with coworkers who highly recommended it. First time the food was amazing, though the fries leave a lot to be desired. Burgers are decent size, great flavor. First time I had the Buffalo blue cheese burger and it was out of this world. The second time I got the same thing and it was just okay. Their fries are natural, similar to 5 guys, but they're really small, like really, really small and very salty.

If you haven't tried this place yet, do it! Great food and friendly staff. They serve breakfast all day now! I had the cheese steak. Really good! Sorry I took a bite before the picture, lol.

My wife, son and I originally had stopped down the block to eat at another restaurant, but it ended up having such horrible service that we left. Sax was our original first choice though, but we came to the other restaurant first so we stopped there. We are so glad that we left and came to Sax!! Cannot say enough good things about Sax!! The owner took out orders at the front counter and she was gem…personable and funny and spunky! The service was amazing, as we received our orders within 5 to 7 minutes. my son and I had the Cuban sandwiches, which were awesome! And my wife had the ham and cheese panini, which was also great! It has a great diner kind of atmosphere which we all loved. We will definitely go back!! Highly recommended!!

When I was a child, my mother on the occasion when we were good, would make us fried bologna and egg sandwiches. So when I looked at the reviews and saw they had fried bologna, I just had to come! Much to my surprise they have a special breakfast fried bologna sandwich with eggs melted cheddar on sourdough! Off the hook! Sitting there reminiscing about my mother making me the exact same sandwich when I was a child while listening to Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby. Really brought me back to those days. I also had the fries, which are perfect whole skin fries cut thin fried to perfection. I couldn't finish it. Can't wait to come back and try their other sandwiches.

Great breakfast! Got the traditional but substituted eggs for egg whites and paid an upcharge to substitute my wheat berry toast for a Biscuit! It was a cute quite place with very friendly staff!!

Great little burger place. The burgers were huge and had a little flavor for everyone. They were cooked perfectly and paired with delicious seasoned, skinny fries. The Sax Burger had all the regular “go to” toppings but the bacon cheddar burger is the most poplar. Will definitely come back next time we’re down here.

This is by far the best burger I’ve ever eaten in my life. Just happened upon it while I was in town for a work trip. Will definitely be going here again the next time I’m in town. 🤤

Just found out about this little local gem. If you're looking for a pretty bomb burger to get in town, this is where it'll be. Picked up the cheddar bacon burger with a small fries and they didn't disappoint. And yes, that is a "small" fries in the picture. The bun was a nice size and held together nicely, the burger patty was just right and had that nice home grilled taste to it. I screwed up and didn't realize you can get a double, so now I'll have to come back and do that!! Service was excellent and very friendly staff!! Good prices on the food too, well worth it.

If you want a Fancy Clean Burger this is not the place for you!! I got the smoked cheddar burger today and it was absolutely Amazing. Cashier was nice and food was prepared quick. The burger tho came out and looked big. I unwrapped it and it looked like a hot mess master piece😁. Sax imo has the best burgers in town!! If you want great food definitely give this place a try.

Sorry not my cup of tea. Other reviewers descriptions was pretty spot on though. Our cashier/server was pleasant and friendly! We had the Smoked Cheddar Bacon Burger ($11.69) and Small Fries ($1.99), the Half Veggie Sandwich ($5.49), side of potato salad ($1.69), and side of baked beans ($1.69). The burger was huge and messy and definitely not heart healthy. It had thick cut bacon (lots of it) and thick cut grilled onions. I found it way too much. Flavor was okay, but on the greasy side. The Veggie Sandwich was healthier, but as a hand held sandwich, a challenge to eat as well without everything falling out. Don't get the potato salad. It was very dry and tasted awful. The baked beans were very good, with big chunks of meat. Portion size of the potato salad and the beans was very small in relation to the much larger burger and fries! The best part was the small fries. Very generous helping and quite good! No need to get a larger size fries! See pics. The ice machine is old and as a result the ice is tainted and tastes pretty awful. Buy the ZephyrHills bottle water and don't use the ice. If you have a big appetite and like this type of burger, you will probably like it! Stay clear of the potato salad and the ice machine!

Great food, the setting is so pretty. Me and my friend went here by random to try something new and we weren’t disappointed. Those fries were a SMALL i was shocked. Customer service was also great, very nice lady upfront 💗 defiantly will return.

This place has very good patty melts. Their fries are delicious. I can't wait to come back here. 10/10
