I stayed at one of the lowest rated hotels in the UK and left a positive review. the only rule… I cant lie. currently rated 1.7 out of 5, this place has more one star reviews than all the other stars combined. when checking into the hotel the man at reception was very nice and directed me to my room, that’s a star ⭐️As I entered my room I thought WOW what a view of Tesco Extra! Anyway… I had to use a UV light for any stains on my bed which I couldn’t find, That’s a Star ⭐️ I turn the TV on and (The Screen was smashed) I realised the hotel is helping me reduce my screen time so I can have a better sleep, That’s a star ⭐️ my plug in radiator had stabilizers so I decided to take it for a walk 🚶 which provided me with entertainment for the night 5 STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Five stars for being next to the best pub in Manchester, the New Inn. Stopping here (The Asseheton) you get what you get. Beds are comfy but hygiene is lacking. Not for families, but alright for lads and girls wanting a night out.

I stay in many a budget hotel/hostel and believe me I have stayed in some very questionable accommodation, but this was the fist time I have ever left due to the sheer lack of even basic hygiene levels in both the room and the shared bathrooms. I would say avoid like the plague, but this would be unnecessarily harsh on the plague. In fact the plague is probably a minor ailment compared to what you may catch if you stay here.

The very worst place I have been to for years. The room needed a good cleaning,the toilet and bathroom were shared, I cannot believe how bad this place is. No car park to speak of as if you got in there was no guarantee you could get out when you wanted. Never want to hear of this place again. Stayed for 35mins too long, payed for two nights but could not get money back.

One of the finest establishments I've ever stayed in all of England. These bad reviews are unfair. Excellent service from the owner who was very kind. Comfortable room with everything you need from a hotel. Will definitely stay again.

Shockingly dirty, unsafe and disgusting room. The room looked nothing like the pictures posted ob Expedia. The bathrooms were dirty, most taps were not working and the shower tray flooded due to blocked pipe. The furnitures in my room were broken, the TV didn't work and the room smelled mouldy!

This hotel is a nightmare. The worse ever place that you can stay. Rooms and bathroom were proper filthy and dirty. Broken bed was my other problem. The smell of canabise was horrible. Noise from outside and inside the hotel was another issue. Generally speaking the worse ever place that I ever stayed.

Very easy to loacate. Not very nice place. Kitchen is dirty, you have to share bathrooms. Some days, the hot water would not work. The heater is constantly turned off. No breakfast like they say. And the hallway smells of weed and cigarette. Totally off!

This is horrible and dirty . They don’t clean the rooms. When I check in the room yesterday I found underwear with blood and cigarettes, and we didn’t have control the lady she works at night she was very rude with me and boyfriend. She told if you don’t have the control is not my fault , you should go to your room and I need attend my guests . I recorded her . I will call today to speak with the lady afternoon shift she was sweet .

Absolutely horrible and dirty! The hallway smell (weed), worse the owner was rude! Sadly I can’t get my money back but left him with a few words! Our room was dusty! Worst experience ever. It’s unbelievable! Wouldn’t recommend it to no one no matter how desperate! 🤮

Stayed for 3 nights during neighbourhood weekender festival - on the last night I got in and the lady tried saying I'd already checked out and I needed to pay for another night. The room was filthy, single light bulb dangling from the ceiling and bed had about 3 springs left in it. My window looked out onto a roof covered in rubbish, mostly rusting beer cans. Everything in the whole hotel was dirty and the receptionist couldn't care less - continues to watch something loudly on her phone while you try and talk to her. Overall shockingly bad.

Honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, it's something out of a horror film but having said that the staff were amazing very helpful shame about the actual hotel avoid like the plague!!!!!!

The hotel had no heating, and the window was broken. It was freezing. It was in the wintertime it was like a hostel. The place had no towels. If I could, I would have given them no stars

Paid to stay one night guy on reception was arrogant, no lights in room. Had bad smell in room, no toilet or shower, it was on landing share, would not let my dog stay there, very disgusting

On arrival the so called hotel the reception smelt of mould and cannabis this continued up to the rooms. There was mould on the walls and wallpaper pealing of. The furniture was broken beyond use. The place needs to be condemned. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HEAR. There was no parking we had to park on a side street we left as soon as we booked another hotel and this was too long in the place. I know some people will say you get what you pay for in a cheap hotel but you expect it to be clean and intact.

Unfortunately went there , and very grumpy person man was in reception , hardly responding also hotel service was 0, But cheap, and have secured parking .

Absolutely disgusting hotel avoid at all costs!! Staff were rude from the moment we arrived i then asked at night for where I could get a bottle of water receptionist then said I don’t know I’m asleep!!! Ridiculous place

That hotel if you want to call it a hotel was so dirty even the receptionist man was dirty, he had no clue where the towels were, the rooms we so run down windows smashed in the room no curtains on the window so everyone outside could see you if you wanted to change or even if you were sleeping. The beds were dirty and had dead beasties on them. Electrical sockets handing off the wall along with the cables. If you want to catch covid then thats the place to go. This hotel shouldnt even be open for business and dont be fooled by the pictures they have up as that isnt what it is like.

Hello, I was there a week ago, Heating is continoues running , that means you sleeping in Sauna room, second , Bathroom was not perfect , Tap is not functional , no hot water. need a cleaning, stuff are friendly.

We booked a room for a wedding at the weekend and we're lied to multiple times about our card being declined (the card authorization is still showing on our bank account). After two days of stress we received confirmation of our booking being cancelled. After speaking to the hotel they advised that they were fully booked and only prepaid rooms had been honoured and that any 'pay at the hotel' rooms had been cancelled and advised us to rebook the only remaining room (our newly cancelled room), only for us then to find out that the price of the room had increased. After reading the appalling reviews, we definitely did not want to rebook this and have had to find alernative accommodation two days before the wedding. Would only reccoment this hotel if you want stress before you're trip and then to be ripped off with the price.

The room and bathroom was not clean at all. The bathroom floor was all smashed, shower wasnt clean. Bedroom floor was laminate that wasnt clicked together properly. And all walls were dirty. Cleaning lady walked in while i was laid on the bed just as i got there didnt clean any of the room, but mopped the floor. Had to keep ringing the buzzer to get into the hotel as no other way to get in. Came home with bites and feeling so disgusting.

The Shared Bathroom door has no lock. I report it to reception they replied there are two bathrooms so you have the option to choose which one to use. There are two bathrooms (including the broken door one) for 12 room guests. I wanted to pay by card but their payment terminal was not working so I had to bring cash. I stayed for two nigh. After the first night, i request the reception to change the bad sheet & towel. The receptionist's reaction was like he has fallen from the sky and that he had never heard this kind of request. Wooden floors make noise while walking.

Fantastic experience at the Assheton Arms. The rooms were immaculate and the service was first rate. Amazing to have such a good experience so close to the city center for such a low price. We especially appreciated the spotless bathrooms which I think are recently renovated? Would definitely stay again.

Dirty pictures have been changes I had fag burns in sheet cigarette ash all over plug socket hanging off the wall I recommend anyone to stay away it needs closing down

Avoid this hotel at all costs!! No hot water in the "hotel", we had to share a bathroom with everybody who was on the floor. Extremely confusing to find your allocated room as the highest numbered room was on the lowest floor (Room 24 on the 2nd level and room 22 on the highest level). Toiletries were not filled, ignorant staff, damages in the rooms, views was discusting and rest assure you will never be attending again.

Even for free, please don't go there. Dirty stinky rooms, no parking space, no hot water to bathe. Infact, an experience I want to forget in a hurry.

Me and my friends booked this place through Agoda. On the website the place looked decent and we went there to check in it was not what we saw on the website. The pictures are completely misleading. The toilet was very dirty and moldy, the room door was broken it took me a while to unlock the room to check. I couldn’t even take pictures of the premise because the staff didn’t allow me to do so and he was very rude. When we were telling him the problem, he told us to cancel and leave and he told us that he won’t give a refund. We were girls and that whole hotel was very dodge. We were literally stranded and have never felt more unsafe. Worst Experience ever. Very disappointed with Agoda for not removing the property on their website despite all the bad reviews. The HOTEL NEEDS TO BE TAKEN DOWN!!!!!!

This hotel needs to be closed down. That’s all I’m going to say. It was the worst place ever. I however did not stay there I left. All furniture was broken, hygiene is shocking and there was ants everywhere, the room was very cold and they did nothing to fix this. How a place like this is still operating is shocking. It doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. DO NOT BOOK.

Well... I'm not giving a zero star because I can't. There was no one at the reception and we had to use a bell and wait over 5 minutes for someone to open the door. The entrance of the hotel looked like a scene out of a zombie apocalypse movie. Dirty, smelly, and stuff all over the place. The room that was provided to us looked like the perfect place to hide a dead body. The gentleman at the reception was too busy multitasking at the laundryroom and that is the reason why it took so long for him to come open the door. He also wasn't the nicest. Also the photos of the hotel do not match the reality of this horror scene. If you're into this kinda freaky stuff feel free to stay, but if you're a normal functioning human being, do not waste your time and money. I have nothing else to add to this review, I hope y'all get canceled. Goodbye and good ridance!
