Another amazing place to see. The churches are so beautiful inside and out. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the view. The back drop was featured in the movie Angels & Demons. There is a viewing place up some stairs on the side which i recommend. You get a great view over Piazza del Popolo and a great view of the Vatican.

It's a large open plaza with some nice historical features. Best time to go and view is either early in the morning or mid to late evening, to avoid crowds and to be able to see it all clearly. If you want to see it from a height, head towards a set of stairs walking away from the shops, go up the stairs, cross the road and take a right about 30 metres up, there is a small view point. Great for taking photos without the mass tourists in your view. See the last picture for a reference.

Busy market place with many great shops such as H&M, Aldo, Zara etc. I like how the place is very organized and there are a couple of restaurants to relax and unwind. A tourist attraction is the Spanish steps which gives you an opportunity to see the whole of the area. It was a delight visiting this place

This large oval square features twin churches, an Egyptian obelisk, fountains, the path to Villa Borghese, a magnificent gate… only in Rome! And you should not miss this beautiful spot. Dark note: it was also a favourite spot for public executions…

One of my favourite Piazza’s to visit when in Rome, it’s absolutely stunning. I really enjoy talking a walk here, it’s a great place to go and read a book and just rest and relax. There’s lots to do and see in and around this area. It has a lovely water fountain, several really cool statues and a giant obelisk in the middle of the piazza. I really enjoy my time here and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

This is a lesser known, but absolutely beautiful destination to visit when in Rome. There are the twin Churches dedicated to Mother Mary, a unique Egyptian Obelisk with crystal-clear Heiroglyhics, classic Italian Fountains with Lions and a number of Cafés & Restaurants just outside the Piazza. Very spacious, not crowded with a lot of people with you usual assortment of street vendors. All the Statuary is in remarkable condition for being over 100 years old!

Major square in Roma, the place where locals watch soccer matches in major competitions. Tons of restaurants and shops around the square, very close to the subway. Good opening spot in a walk through Roma"s main public spaces.

From top, you can get a good view of the Spanish Steps and also a large part of Rome. Don't miss this. Unfortunately, the direct metro exit to this spot is closed at present. There's a French cathedral on top as well.

Been in Rome a couple of days and it’s hard not to get bored by the amazing architecture, beautiful piazzas, fabulous good and friendly people. This is a great example of a piazza with some fancy tomb, amazing statue and two identical churches. I mean why not? One church? Pah! Let’s have two. Is it worth a specific trip here? Probably not. But it’s in the heart of the posh shopping area so if you’re there anyway then why not….!

The piazza does not have tons to see but good to wander through after the Villa Borghese if there as it’s just down the steps/hill. Some seating on the edges and the obelisk can be seen but otherwise less than in other large piazzas.

"Piazza del Popolo in Rome is a splendid urban oasis that effortlessly blends history and modern allure. The iconic twin churches frame the expansive square, creating a captivating sight. Whether you're appreciating the ancient Egyptian obelisk at the center or savoring the surrounding elegance, the piazza offers a delightful mix of architecture, art, and vibrant city life. A must-visit destination that captures the essence of Rome's timeless charm."

A visit to Piazza del Popolo while in Rome is like a visit to Times Square when in NY, for me. I consider it a must stop or a starting point. Take a walking tour by a group that understands its historical value. Also, 3 most famous shopping streets in Rome begin/end at Popolo. Enjoy!

Not to miss! One of the most iconic beautiful impressive and historic piazzas in Italy. Tip: Don’t waist time on the touristy restaurants around, they are especially bad. Instead better to get a place near the fountain and enjoy some sun! 🙂☀️

Beautiful and spacious square. The three rays with the most famous streets in Rome start from there and for a photo it is unique. The square itself is pedestrianized, which is very convenient for tourists to explore and take great photos.

SECRET Revealed below. This is a spectacular piazza just a short walk from the Spanish steps. I have been to Rome 5 times but this is the first time I have experienced this piazza. Now here is my secret. Go to the walls on either side with a friend or loved one. Each of you go to far ends of the wall and speak to each other in a normal tone. The acoustics are phenomenal and fun. The picture of the wall is below. HEX Crypto made all of this possible for our family.

Nice place, obelisk with fountains is at the centre of the piazza. One thing to remember is that water is super cold and refreshing, especially in summer days. As your enter through Porta del Popolo, on right side is potable water fountain so you can refill your bottles.

For me, it reminds me of Times Square in New York, United States. The most important monuments in Rome, it seemed to me, are concentrated in a single location. It is not far from the "Alter of the Fatherland" and "Piazza Novana." Several architects worked on this monument at different times and made various changes. Between 1811 and 1822, it was the first building created by Giuseppe Valadier, a historic architect. The area is so large that it was formerly used for traffic and parking before being converted to a pedestrian zone. This is a lovely monument. It's wonderful to be here!

So you're looking for a place to catch up? Or maybe to have a coffee? Or maybe just to explore Rome's beauty? Then Piazza del Pololo is for you. We caught up with some friends here and spent longer than anticipated here. There was too much to see and do and we ended up sitting in the middle and admiring people passing by and stopping for a chat. Highly recommend

This was one of the most famous sights of Rome and in all seriousness I wonder how it would have looked during the olden days when it was actually created, such huge figures, such magnificance. It is always a treat to the eyes

One of the nicest piazzas in Rome, IMHO better than Fontana di Trevi. It's enormous, full of buildings and statues with various architecture styles. It's also great for long exposure photography. Make sure you visit!

On our bus tour, we only had a hour to visit this place. In the square there are 3 places where there is a line. The Vatican had the longest line. Maybe 3 to 4 hours long. But we only had time for a bathroom break, no toilet seats for anybody.

Relaxed and nice vibes, some music, some young couples in love, some children playing football, less crowded than other parts of Rome.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Vatican City in Rome, Italy, and it turned out to be an experience of a lifetime. This small independent city-state, nestled within the heart of Rome, captivated me with its grandeur, historical significance, and spiritual ambiance. Vatican City truly embodies a timeless beauty that seamlessly blends art, architecture, and faith. One of the first things that struck me upon entering Vatican City was its sheer magnificence. The colossal St. Peter's Square, designed by Bernini, welcomed me with open arms and left me in awe of its grand scale. The square is adorned with beautiful fountains and surrounded by majestic colonnades, creating a sense of harmony and tranquility. Witnessing the square come alive during the papal audience was an experience filled with joy and a shared sense of devotion among visitors from around the world. As I ventured into St. Peter's Basilica, I was overwhelmed by its splendor and breathtaking architectural marvels. The intricate details of the basilica's interior, including Michelangelo's Pieta and the awe-inspiring dome designed by the same master, left me speechless. The divine ambiance, combined with the soft glow of the sun filtering through the stained glass windows, created an ethereal atmosphere that touched my soul. Exploring the Vatican Museums was like embarking on a fascinating journey through time. From the opulent Raphael Rooms to the mesmerizing Gallery of Maps, every corner of the museums was a testament to the Vatican's rich history and artistic heritage. The pinnacle of the museum visit was, without a doubt, the Sistine Chapel. Standing beneath Michelangelo's iconic ceiling, I felt a profound sense of awe, contemplating the mastery of his brushstrokes and the profound religious themes depicted. The Vatican Gardens offered a serene retreat from the bustling crowds. The meticulously manicured landscapes, adorned with fragrant flowers and tranquil fountains, provided a peaceful sanctuary where I could reflect on my journey. The panoramic view of the city from the top of the dome, reached through a thrilling climb, rewarded me with a breathtaking vista that showcased the majestic beauty of Rome. I must mention the warmth and hospitality of the Vatican City staff and locals. Despite being a popular tourist destination, I encountered friendly faces at every turn, willing to assist and share their knowledge. Their passion for their city was contagious and added an extra layer of authenticity to my experience. Visiting Vatican City awakened my senses and deepened my appreciation for art, history, and spirituality. It is a place that transcends time, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its rich cultural tapestry and connect with their innermost beliefs. Whether you are a devout pilgrim, a history enthusiast, or simply a curious traveler, Vatican City is an absolute must-visit destination that will leave an indelible mark on your soul. In summary, my visit to Vatican City was a truly transformative experience. Its grandeur, artistry, and spiritual significance surpassed my expectations and left me in awe. I highly recommend this enchanting destination to anyone seeking a profound connection with history, art, and faith.

This is the lovely main square as you enter Rome as most of the buses drop just outside Then it's a simple walk in and pick 1 of 3 roads to walk down, we went to the right as we wanted to see the trevi fountain and the ara pacis Just be aware of the rose scammers who offer a free rose... Then ask for money, we told 2 of them to jog on, and they weren't happy

Its a big square. Quite nice place and surroundings to take some pics and selfies. Actually we walk all the way from The Spanish Steps, along Via del Babuino (a street full of luxury brand boutiques) and walked across Piazza del Popolo to take the metro at Flaminio station.

Absolutely awesome and a must watch place. Beautiful Xmas tree next to the obelisk and fountain. The "trident" of the roads leading away from this place is a great way to spend a few hours. The left road takes you to Spanish steps The middle road takes u to a lot of shopping The right most via de reppata road has lots of great restaurants.

This is probably my favorite places to people watch for hours. The fountain and obelisk are just a great place to relax, reflect and see every walk of life passing by…. The blessings is when Italians ask me for directions to this or that….. I know I’ve arrived at my happy place!!!

Nice place especially for families, at the end of via del corso street you can have a break here, many restaurants and shops in the area, and the place is very wide so the kids could run, play, and enjoy their time. Usually it will be crowded as many people come to take photos, and the kids to play. The buildings here is also nice and surrounded by many trees.

Amazing views of the city. There is a road that can take you up there if you can't walk for to long, otherwise there are (stone) stairs to climb that add to the experience (but be careful: they are pretty old and can get slippery!).

This is a fantastic plaza! The heart of Rome it feels like. You can sit in one of the nearby cafes for some great people watching! Have an aperol spritz or afogato. Watch the people, the traffic, the birds pass by. You could take the stairs up, up, up to the park. Gorgeous huge park, with wonderful views from the top of Piazza del Popolo. Then walk or bike or scoot around the park. You definitely must needs come to this area or you have not been to Roma. Enjoy

Situated under the viewpoint at Pincio this town square has a lot of things to offer. In the middle of it there is an Egyptian Obelisk and on the sides two very beautiful fountains. There's also some churches if you are interested in that.

An absolutely authentic place filled with the breath of past centuries and eras. Stunning Baroque architecture, especially the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo. And also the center of the whole composition - an Egyptian stele with a fountain with lions leaves no opportunity to be indifferent!

Magnificent square with the twin churces, very nice place to visit. There are a lot of visitors taking pictures and having fun. The place is huge but very maintained and constantly under the surveillance of local authorities. I recommend a visit to that place.

How impressive in over 3000 year old Egyptian artifact just incredible and you can’t really notice the segmenting they did. I guess they had to take it in pieces to move it but very very one of the highlights. I love Egyptian stuff and the fact that it’s in Rome is pretty curious, and speaks to the influence and the advantages Rome took in the conquest

Currently the square is completely decorated for the Euro Cup 2020 . They named it football village and if you are looking to enjoy the matches along with partying then this is the perfect place . The screening here and the atmosphere is worth it . Highly recommended.

Really good looking, gorgeous place to go!!! The view form the three maon streets you can observe there is breathtaking. You're in for a very long stroll there. The double churches are awesome and striking. There was a very nice F-35 there, which looked real impressive! With the great temperature and renaissance monuments you will definitely not regret going there!

The piazza is a nice place to visit to simply stand there and absorbing the culture. As well as what Rome is, an ancient and bright city. Though it may not be the best choice if you are not a fan of crowds. However, I went in the morning, so the piazza was quite empty. It was nice.

Wonderful square to visit, and also has the Davinci museum (€40 for a family ticket, but there's very little in it). The square itself has some lovely architecture, and is a great open space. Spoiled only by the touts trying to sell you... Sorry "give you" roses and bracelets. However they are all over Rome and simply an annoyance, just refuse ANYTHING they offer you, even if they say it is a gift ... it is not.
