I have to rate it sort of highly, right!? It's a gorgeous, historical spot in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I love Rome! But the crowds can honestly be madness! Even off-season in rainy November. I've been here more than a couple dozen times and I'd recommend March for the weather and lighter crowds. My best advice: take your manners with you, but have your armour at the ready! Most people are lovely, but in tourist mode I've discovered they often forget who they are and lose all sense of spacial and social awareness.

A cooling balmy evening after a sizzling day sight seeing in Rome we walked to the Spanish Steps. Set in a glorious beautifully lit piazza with fountains cooling the air the crowds ahead of us at the base of the steps. What a sight. Simple but magnificent and hundreds of people sitting, climbing up and down, chatting, taking photos, children playing with their fun light toys shooting into the sky. We stood an age enjoying the atmosphere and this stunning flight of steps. Certainly not to be missed.

Beautiful area to visit. The night we visited the Spanish Steps there was no police presence so hundreds of visitors were sitting respectfully on the stairs - apparently you normally are not permitted to sit on the stairs we were told. We took photos and did not sit. The fountain was beautiful and had roses floating in it which added to the beauty of seeing it lit up at night.

It was a rainy day; the nice thing was only a few people there. If it was a sunny day, you couldn't see the steps - it is a jammed pack of tourists.

Stunning and must see while in Rome. We went fairly early in the morning and it was busy but still manageable. We went later in the evening as well but there were so many people sitting in the stairs you could barely walk. Definitely come in the mornings!

Wonderful Spanish stairs ,the true essence of Italy culture can be seen here, buildings left and right with true historic monuments. Even some Egyptian aspects due to the great influence they had to the Italian people back in the ages. It was a true experience I will never forget together with my wife. Many pictures where taken. At night the area becomes a wonderful light scenery that exposes the fine art that famous cultivated artists made. Really cool!

We loved this visit! You can actually drink from this water fountain! I didn't climb up the stairs though the church was beautiful just looking at it from the bottom. Lots to see in this square and loved the roasted chestnuts from the street vendor.

I did not go up these steps. I stayed with the fountain. I have no idea what makes these steps so iconic. If you don't like crowds, be prepared.

Piazza di Spagna is a very huge square. It was on my list with the must-visit places. Personally, I came here at night. I think that it would be nice to come again with daylight. However, I really liked the place and I'll recommend it, especially if you are interested in architecture.

Lovely spot! A sea of people but still enjoyable to witness. The church above the steps is beautiful inside and you get a stunning view from up there. I recommend going in and light a candle.

The area was busy during the day, but not as busy later in the evening. The downside of going to late is that most of the shops are closed, but definitely a great area to shop if you like doing that. There's a quaint tea shop right next to it that serves hot or iced tea and is a nice break from the heat. Also, there are some Basilicas you can check out in the area. Just start walking toward the H&M

Really nice square, lots of history, if in Rome definitely worth a visit. All major attractions are in area, so walking distance, but you'd need a few days to visit all places. Also all major designer's shops are around and good restaurants too.

Classic stop in the historic circuit through open air squares and fountains in Rome. This site attracts many visitors during the day and climbing the steps to see the square and watch people passing by is a nice experience. Despite the crowds, it is a good area just to breath a little and get a feeling about Rome.

Such a lovely crowd with an amazing view. Highly recommend spending time during the sunset here, then seeing the Pantheon lit up at night then making your way down to the Trevi Fountain if your hotel is near.

The piazza di Spagna is a must see place in Rome! Since you arrive to the fountain at the bottom of the wonderful steps leading to the church at the top! After you visit the church, take your time to appreciate the amazing view of Rome and the Vatican City, from the entrance (check the photos). There is a a very nice restaurant on the rooftop of one of the houses around the steps. A highly recommend place in Rome!

Entry - free of cost. As we went on Christmas season we had very nice photos. But we missed the decorations of steps. The street was very well decorated as i have mentioned in the photos and videos. It was a nice experience overall

Truly a magnificent place to visit - it may “just be steps” but it’s beautiful and the view of the city as you walk up is incredible (though you have to be mindful not to stop halfway to take photos as it’s disallowed). The surrounding area has lots of nice shops from mid-to-high-end and lots of restaurants (which in my opinion are not expensive despite the location and great taste!)

The whole plaza/square is nice, not just the Spanish Steps. Recommended to walk from here all the way to Flaminio metro station along the street Via Babuino.

Beautiful Piazza to visit. You can enjoy it from the ground floor, or take the Spanish Steps up and enjoy a bigger view. I would recommend walking around with a selfie stick if you have one, as there are tourist traps that will try to sell them to you.

Beautiful areas to sit and take in the views. There are horse and carriage rides and plenty of designer shops. I recommend pre booking a golf buggy tour for the day you would not be dissatisfied at the amount of attractions you could fit into one day.

Beautiful location, but very crowded, so go early for the best photos. If you have mobility issues but want to see the view from the the top, there is an elevator at the entrance of the metro.

Loved it. You might experience continuous crowds but it doesn't diminish the impression. Btw, fun fact - did you know A Man From U.N.C.L.E. was filmed here?

Go there during the evening for the sunset and walk along the upper wall to a fancy restaurant that I forget the name. Unless you want pictures of the other hundreds of Instagrammer chasing clout in the ethos. I went during the heat of summer so it was much more bearable with the heat.

This was so much fun! It was right off the rail within 1 minute. Just so happens they were filming for the new Mission Impossible movie. It was a real treat. Again the area was very tourist friendly with so much to see and enjoy within walking distance. There were street vendors as well as shopping, bars, and restaurants! When in Rome definitely visit Spagna!

Mythic spot in Rome that commemorates the time when the Spanish Crown was ruling half Italy. In top of the stairs is a Catholic Church built according the spanish style. Downstairs is a beautiful fountain of a boat that eludes the Spanish Armada. This is one of the best spots for watching the sunset or have an Ice cream sitting in front of the fountain. Disclaimer: During covid is not allow to sit in the stairs

Very nice place to spend time in Rome. Romantic, safe, beautiful views of the city and another fantastic historic monument. If you are driving a car it might be difficult to find a place nearby to park so be aware. But the visit is worth making. We had dinner nearby and after we spent couple of hours there. Very cool!

A very dynamic place to visit in the heart of Rome, if you are a photographer you will be indulged in shooting long exposures to highlight the motion of this place of course while being respectable to others while taking pictures of them. Place yourself correctly on top of the stairs and enjoy the depth and the angles you may cover.

Such a beautiful place to visit day or night. It does be very busy but worth the view. Be wary of pick pockets in this area. Some lovely designer shops here also and fantastic restaurants.

beautiful staircase, just like the square at the bottom of the stairs. At the top of the stairs you will find a church with a work by an apprentice by Michelangelo.

Did you know?? You can drink the water that comes out of the fountain! It is not water of the fountain but rather is coming from the drinking water supply. I did not drink it...but I saw many people that did. Beautiful and so much history. Also, do not sit or lay on the Spanish steps...it is disrespectful and the police will hassle you. They have better things to do then remind fat old tourist not to disrespect the Spanish Steps.

It is a cool plaza, but it is definitely not the prettiest one. Too many people, feels like even more than in the Fontana do Trevi. The best part was a man singing next to it.

Finally when there are not many tourists and people are not allowed to sit on the stairs, you can make cool photos of Spanish Stairs. 🧡 One of the must-visit attractions in Rome. Best time for photos: before sunset. Also, there are a lot of restaurants and nice shops to check.

Famous landmark in Rome. Very crowded during the weekends, but beautiful. Nice view from above over the Rome.

Love this square. It can be very busy though

Very crowded. There were pieces of plastic bags, plastic bottle caps and waste in the fountain. Very hard to make pictures. Frim the top, you have a fine view of a part of the city of Rome. I was not so excited as it was advertised.

Beautiful fountain in front of the Spanish steps. Usually crowded and you can actually drink the water from the fountain. I did fill a bottle and drink and it tastes good!! Worth a visit!!

This is the Rome that people expect to see, or at least I did. Like in the movies; the streets were beautifully decorated with flowers and lights. High end stores and cute narrow alleys filled with restaurants. This area of Rome is a bit more expensive but worth the pass through.

A nice stop to make in Rome having a quick cup of coffee sitting on the Spanish steps while admiring the view of the most popular brands of fashion. Over crowded despite the Covid-19 restrictions. A great place to go for shopping if you are up to it.

If it’s summer or winter you will enjoy visiting this Piazza. An open area with Spanish steps beside and small fountain, but it’s amazing. The Surrounding area is amazing. Coffee shops and other big brands.

A historical landmark located in the central part of Rome. While it can be pretty crowded during anytime of the day, it's still recommend to visit it, chill on the stairs and enjoy the view on the city. Be aware the eating and drinking is not possible as the police is guarding the whole place.
