Beautiful and clean park to stroll on a sunny day. Very safe and surrounded by both coffee or food places.

Inmitten des Chaos ist die Alameda ein wichtiger Rückzugsort zum Verweilen, Auszeit vom Großstadttrubel. Es gibt Bänke, Brunnen, Schatten...

In this place, local people and visitors meet daily who delight in the joy produced by the different musical genres that are heard when passing the different squares that are found when crossing it.

Back in the days, this entire area was already into the Christmas season, sadly not yet, and I was looking forward, although it was fun to see a group of people dancing and having fun just because, definitely something to learn from "break free and enjoy life"

Since they rehabilitated the park it is much safer and more relaxing place to watch people in the shade. Be careful of the rats in the plants though. They come for your food and are quite brave about it.

This is the oldest park in the America's, it sits right behind Palacio de Bellas Artes. It's very beautiful and clean. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because there's literally no trash cans anywhere there, or the city for that matter.

Knowing the story of the central Alameda brings you back to the fact that hundreds of years are beneath your soles. Just as yesteryears, people come and stroll and see people performing, selling, telling love-fibs, listen to music, friends, reminiscing, or just just come to watch other people.

This Huge Park in the Center of this Historic District is very Clean and Lush with Greenery, dozens of Fountains of Water, Park type Benches to sit and Enjoy the Scenery. The Park is kept up very well even during this Pandemic. The Park is kid friendly with Snack Venders setup throughout the park if you have a craving for some Local Delicies. It also has its own Subway Stop.

In A Nutshell: -Alameda Central is a huge park in CDMX. -If you go on the weekend you will see a lot of people enjoying the weather & random activities surrounding the area. -This is a nice place to people watch, grab some street food like elote, get some healthy steps in & to just chill. Overall, whenever you are in crowded areas, always maintain vigilance & you'll be good to go.

Went on a Wednesday around 7pm and they had a group of dancers with a speaker playing music. Salsa, Cumbia, and I think some Bachata. I stayed until almost 9pm It was lovely just to watch and when someone asked me to dance I attempted. It was very fun. Dancers were in between alot of kids skate boarding in the park.

Wonderful spot to have a great time with your loved ones. There are tons of street food stalls everywhere, lovely music, and a safe environment for family, kids and the public in general.

Very nice, lively park. You could probably spend a whole day hear just to relax and take in some urban nature. The scenery includes trees, flowers, fountains and live performers (buskers). It is a big park so you have ample room to explore with space around you.

  • 5/5 frank j. 2 months ago on Google • 107 reviews New
Fantastic early evening experience when vendors appear with a selection of street food on their stalls. A highlight is the appearance of local folk from all walks of life, ages & social status. The one common denominator being dance. Truly uplifting and if you don't know the local version of Salsa wth a difference, try jive which we 'just about' got away with!

Alameda Central is considered one of the oldest public parks in Latin America. It’s considered as the “Central Park” of Mexico City. The activities range from taking a nice stroll with an “elote” on hand to accessing one of the most iconic Museums in the city: Palace of Fine Arts. Secure. Pristine. With lots of statues. A must see when you visit the historical center.

  • 5/5 Leonardo de la T. 3 years ago on Google
The original park was less than half the size of the current one, reaching only from where the Palacio de Bellas Artes is now to the location of the Hemiciclo de Juárez. What is now the western section of the park originally was a plain plaza built during the Inquisition in Mexico and known as El Quemadero or The Burning Place. Here witches and others convicted by the Inquisitors were publicly burned at the stake. By the 1760s, the Inquisition had nearly come to an end and in 1770, viceroy Marqués de Croix had this plaza torn up to expand the park. The park was expanded again in 1791, when the Count of Revillagigedo built a wooden fence around the park to make it exclusive for the nobility. However, when Mexican Independence was won in 1821, the Alameda was the center of popular celebrations. In 1846, when President Santa Anna rode triumphantly into Mexico City, he ordered the fountains in the park be filled with alcohol.[

Easy to navigate park. Awesome places to take photo. In the evenings there are small shops open up in the corner and sell food for reasonable prices. Hard to find middle eastern food in the center. 2 minutes walk from out hotel ?

without a doubt, a place to walk to talk for a coffee in the sears building and from there to appreciate the mall and its corners I recommend you to visit it thanks

It's a place to sit and chill on the park benches, and enjoy the scenery and, if you're lucky enough, even enjoy one of the many events that they have in the area on the weekends.

  • 5/5 Stephen Michael Fox J. 4 years ago on Google
Beautiful oasis in the heart of the CDMX's hustle and bustle. The park is so thoughtfully laid out, it feels very inviting to just linger about and take everything in. There are many fountains and monuments spread throughout the park, and each has its own feeling to the surrounding area. It appears to be very well maintained with many people enjoying it.

Después de la remodelación de hace pocos años de la Alameda Central quedó muy bello. Aunque me parece que perdió algo de su encantó, la nostalgia. Pero lo que no me gusta es que esté prohibida la entradas con mascotas.

A great cultural experience. Not for the faint of heart.. Street musicians, street food, puppeteers and arboreal and architectural sights. There were also homeless people minding their own business. In short, a very real depiction of downtown Mexico city. If you want something more vanilla try la mexicana Park in Santa Fe borough

  • 4/5 Marlon N. 4 years ago on Google
Nice park in central mexico near the historical center district. Big open pathways free of vendors and lots of benches make it a great place to chill out. There are also several nice restaurants surrounding the square and there is some variety to them too. If you want street vendor stuff you can also head to the side streets surrounding the park. There is even Chinatown down one of these side streets. A great green space that is more come than most others in the city.

This is a huge park, and unbelievably beautiful, hte arquitecture and design of the park it has a simple but elegant view, surrounded by a lot of nature and. It has several water fountains with scupltures and one of the more signifacant details is how the park has different sections, all conected and with different paths to go. A cool fact to know about it is tha't is the oldest public park in America.

A nice large park located just outside of the Centro Historico. Its very centrally located between the Reforma Avenue and the historic sites with Palace of the fine arts sitting on its very edge. Beautifully landscaped with statues, fountains and small architecture incorporated into its design. Very well maintained and also usually very crowded. There is a metro line in the park close to the Bellas Artes as well.

The place is like a park with plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the shade of the trees. It is a bit crowded and there are very few trashcans but it is a good place to rest your feet after a long walk. Be careful with beggars and street vendors, as they can be very insistent. You can find several street food options here as well, and they can be very cheap. To the left side, you can find the Franz Mayer museum and to the right side you can find the Museum of Memory and Tolerance. Both are worth the visit.

Beautiful park in a great part of the city. A lot of locals/tourists gather here in the evenings so it becomes a hot spot with families, couples, young groups of kids, live music, skateboarding, ect. The government does a great job at maintaining these parks with constant sweeping throughout the day and scrub downs early morning. There are locals selling and asking for handouts which comes naturally. But all in all a lovely park to pass through.

Lots of snacks around this area at night. The gordita is pretty good with onion, cilantro, chicharron, cheese. Fried plantain is great too with jam, condensed milk, and cinnamon. For fries, ours is a little cold, would recommend you get from a place that just fries a new batch. It has ketchup, cheese, mayo, chilli. For the chips, they add lemon juice, chilli, and a black sauce. It is too sour for me. Both drinks are pretty good. For the cup with sugar, the sugar has a fruit flavor, and it varies on the color (i.e. blue would be blueberry). You can choose to have sangria, lemon sprite kinda thing, or carbonated water. Esquites is okay, until we see a worm in the cup 💀 and just throw the whole thing away. Everything is very cheap, from 10 pesos to 40 pesos.

Wonderful place to come over and spend quality time with the family and kids, also great for some alone time all by yourself. On the weekends aside from having to fountains turned on to cool down the heat, there's other activities going on like skits and sideshows, music and clown performances as well as rap battles. Beware of the shoe shine scammers without negotiating the price upfront. When it's done they're going to mark up the price to an outrageous amount. Also try to avoid the snacks and food vendors which surround the place because they'll mark up the price on everything from a soda bottle to a bag of chips. It's best to purchase at established businesses like 7 eleven or Oxxo.
