We had an amazing time having afternoon tea today! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and showed us to our tables. We loved the ambience and the cuteness of the tearoom! There were plenty of choice if you didn’t want afternoon tea, plus they had vegan and gluten free options too. Our afternoon tea arrived quite quickly and the presentation was beautiful and inviting! We savoured every mouthful and enjoyed someone’s work in the preparation! We also went to the cake counter afterwards and purchased 6 cupcakes to take home! Will definitely return again soon!!

Fantastic afternoon tea at Mama Doreen’s. Food was delicious! Service was excellent! We visited in December and the restaurant was decorated beautifully. Would highly recommend!

Had afternoon tea for a birthday and they were great. The afternoon tea portion sizes were brilliant. I recommend sharing one afternoon tea for two people. They bought a cupcake out and sang birthday song.

Lovely experience the twice I've been now, today we had Ian serve us and he went out of his way to get my daughter a vegan afternoon tea even though we hadn't booked , he was so lovely and double checked with the kitchen about my little ladies allergies , he was wonderful to talk to and really made our experience today terrific. We will most definitely be back again soon, fab place

Wonderful, welcoming, attentive staff at this refined and pleasant "cupcakery" - but they do far more than gorgeous, fancy cupcakes. Really good hot chocolate. I had a fancy pink raspberry cupcake and it was lovely, but all their cakes looked tempting. Laid back Big Easy muso playing. Breakfasts served as well as cream teas. All the food that I saw being delivered to tables looked beautifully presented. Good place to go and treat yourself! Yum.

My husband and I visited Harrogate for the first time last week. The weather was atrocious but what a lovely town! We hadn't booked anywhere to eat, thinking we could just grab a snack somewhere but then we passed Mama Doreen's and couldn't resist going in as it looked very enticing. Plus, a very quick scan of their website and menu had our mouths watering. The place was packed! Indeed, the rear part of the restaurant was hosting a private party. However, they could squeeze us in, and boy were we glad they did. Right from the get-go the staff were very lovely. They were all very friendly, and so helpful and attentive. As our time was limited we opted for a cake selection plate and a meringue the size of which I have never seen before, but it caught my eye on the way passed the cake cabinet. Tables are beautifully laid out with mismatched vintage china plates/cups/saucers and the atmosphere as a whole was great. I can honestly say the cakes were to die for. The owner advised they were all made inhouse and you can definitely taste that 'home baked' quality. We say a huge number of afternoon tea selections getting served and they all looked delicious, in fact, we were gutted to not have the time to experience one. If you are looking for a fabulous afternoon tea, a slice of cake or a lovely lunch in Harrogate this is the place to visit. Yum! Our daughter is about to start university in Leeds so, finger's crossed, this will give us an excuse to return to Mama Doreen's.

Absolutely fantastic Afternoon Tea, beautiful food and wonderful cakes. Service was initially a little tough with drinks orders not being correct (x3 times) but as soon as we highlighted this then it wasn’t an issue again! It was absolutely jam packed so understandable that the staff were busy. Would definitely visit again, this didn’t put us off!

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea at Mama Doreen’s! Service was brilliant as soon as we arrived to the moment we left. One of our party required a gluten free option and their sandwiches and cakes were some of the best they had tasted. A massive thank you for going the extra mile with the birthday cupcake. Highly recommended and we will be back.
