You pay peanuts, you get purple bricks!! Although these guys are slightly cheaper than your high street estate agents, unless you're doing the viewings yourself, their agents are very incompetent, difficult to get hold of, difficult to arrange viewings with and aren't bothered about the property sitting on the marker getting stale. Their technology is good but shame about the people that operate it.

All round rubbish service and experience. These guys take your money upfront and then just post your property online.. As you have already paid, there is no incentive to; a) get the valuation right, b) get the best price for you, c) communicate properly with any of the buyers d) manage the offers to get the best possible price... better to pay slightly more (at the end of the sale) and use a professional agent who will likely achieve a price that will render the cost of his/her services essentially free.

Absolutely appalling customer service. The property we were meant to view was beautiful but I’m almost glad we never got to see it because I wouldn’t trust this team with anything as important as renting me my home - stay away! Worst Estate Agents in the world - the customer service rep seemed overjoyed to take me off his books when I wasn't happy with the service - literally joyous to be rid of customers seems to be the theme of this company.

Paid for Pro-package with viewings included but they messed up all viewings, we had to conduct all viewings ourselves. They changed their T&C without letting us know about it, leaving us with no chance to use our solicitor. Sent us an invoice without the reference number. We paid in full their fee, but their accountant cannot find it on their system and suspect us of not paying it and asking for proof of payment. Disgusted. We did their job and paid them in full and we feel very let down by the service.

Barely respond to messages, systems not joined up (I lost viewings because they didn't clock that I'd paid for accompanied viewings, and the staff I contacted didn't even seem to know that was possible) and now they're not even reading my messages. Avoid at all costs.

Please choose another estate agent and check the reviews online before using Purplebricks. This is the worse experience I ever had with a company. The agent wasn't helpful at all and I feel like I sold the house myself. I chase every viewing request, spent hours on the phone and 6 weeks since I've accepted an offer I'm chasing them for my keys back.

Do not waste your money (as a landlord). I pay them £92 per month and haven’t been able to speak to anyone at all that can help me for two months now. I’ve tried phone, email (individuals and departments), complaint, web form, web chat, twitter and still nobody can get back to me. They log requests for repairs so late with me that the tenant has already messaged me, I’ve arranged and paid for the repair and the job is closed before purple bricks have even made me aware of it. When rent is late, they don’t do anything until I phone them up 3-4 days after it is due and tell them to chase the tenant. One of the ‘benefits’ of having fully managed service with them is an inspection report, which is now 4 months overdue and they tell me that they cannot force the tenants to let someone in to inspect the place. I have a good relationship with tenants and they have no issue with anybody visiting, they just couldn’t do the first (and only) date that they were offered for this. I will be cancelling all dealings with purple bricks as soon as possible and I’ll never use them by choice again. Waste of money, can’t even stick to their own (long) SLAs such as 15 working days to respond to a complaint, which is now closer to 30 working days without a response. Please, do yourselves a favour and do everything that you can to avoid them. If I had more time I could say so much more : Put a for rent sign up before I’d gave permission / agreed to use them. Charged me and refunded me for management 3 months running despite telling me the first 3 months were free Lost my details during a system change which meant no tenancy renewal was agreed It’s literally terrible at every possible point.

When John first came around our house to do a valuation we were impressed by his professionalism and the quote he gave us to sell our home. It kind of went downhill from there really. We arranged a few open days for our house however we got feedback from the buyer that he felt rushed through rather than being able to take the time to look around. I thought we would have John until the end however we were allocated someone else. The conveyancers they use don't have the best reputation and I had to push and push to get the completion date. Once the house is sold they go quiet. If I had my time over I would use an estate agent that takes a percentage of the sale as maybe then ill get the very best price. Because its fixed fee I don't think they are as invested in me getting the very best possible price.

I had low expectations to begin with the the lack of service with purplebricks has exceeded even my poor opinion of estate agents in general. No advice on whether to accept an offer, no interest in selling for the best price. In the end we sold for £35k below the bottom end of the agents estimate and our emails have been ignored ever since. Don't make a stressful time even worse.

Excellent service and communication throughout the process. Everything was so easy and liked that all the pricing was so transparent. Neil Russell was looking after our sale and couldn’t have been happier with the he went about things. Would recommend Purple bricks to anyone

We engaged Purple Bricks to sell our flat in October 2022. They did a good job of marketing our property initially. However, after a few weeks of little interest they suggested we put our property up on an associated auction site. They didn't warn us that the auction company charge £7k as an additional buyers premium on top of the price we were asking so, in spite of reducing the asking price by about 10% we had no offers at all for the 3 months we were with them. Sorry to say, we eventually we took our business away and engaged a different agent.

The app is very easy to use and gives a great way to organise and book the viewings. Your agent was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had. He was also great at negotiating for us when we received offers.

  • 4/5 Tom K. 1 year ago on Google
Very quick sale. I would only say that there was a time where we had a great offer on the table but also a viewing booked the next day and we were unsure if the viewing was going ahead. Neither of the people we were working with had the time to even read our frantic messages trying to find out if we were going to do the viewing until the very morning of it. You should make sure your agents have time for their clients! We are both autistic and it was distressing to be left in the dark. Other than that a really very smooth process and we're delighted with our price.

Took care of everything from putting the sign in the garden to showing potential buyers the property and negotiating a price. We dealt with Murron, who provided an excellent service. Would highly recommend

I think Purple Bricks are amazing. Sold our recent house within a week and the last one in under 24hrs! Communication is great..they even spoke to us on the Bank holiday weekend. They are exactly what you'd want from an estate agents. Great communication, fast sale, no expensive commission.. Perfect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ps. I love their sale boards 🌸

If you want to be ripped off and scammed to put your house up for sale with these cowboys who suggest no sale, no fee and then sabotages 3 sales to fail and then demands payment for advertising the house. Then go ahead! We switched estate agents due to their incompetence, wrote a formal complaint and they still want payment when our house didn't even sell through these scam artists! Everyone use a different estate agent! This lot are not worth the hassle!

Do not use purple bricks or Strike in Birmingham or Solihull. Difficult to get hold of the agent, not particularly helpful, Did not suggest strategies so did not feel like I was dealing with an experienced proper agent. Did not call back potential buyers. After sales can't be bothered to return calls. Buyers pulled out of potential house sales 3 times because they found purple bricks and the conveying company was very poor. Waste of best part of 2k. Worst estate agent I have used. They did not make enough effort to sell my house and after 10 months they now depending payment even though they advertised their services as “no sale, no payment”. Although they buyers pulled out of they house sale, they are claiming that they house did sale and the “no sale, no payment” offer no longer appliues. The app has lots of glitches so difficult to arrange viewings properly. People who view do not use the app either so it is challenging to rearrange times. Better to have a proper estate agent or someone who is at least competent and knows what they are doing. Do not use purple bricks or Strike in Birmingham or Solihull

Cheaper way to sell, just need to be able to the viewings, chase feedback from agent, message viewers. If you don’t want that hassle don’t go with purple bricks, other than that it’s been okay. Agent didn’t message or ring unless I did, didn’t communicate very well

After having a disastrous 1st agent, I moved to purplebricks. I was lucky enough to have Neil Young and Connie Mayling as my agents Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were always on hand to offer advice and retake photos for me after doing a few touch ups to my property. I genuinely couldn't recommend them enough! They have made the whole process so stress free! I opted for their conveyancing service aswell! My property is now SSTC and they are still with me to completion! The fees are really good for what you get, photos, 3D tour, conveyancing, ease of dealing with agents who are always on hand, being able to defer payment until completion! Fab service and great staff... I'm really pleased I made the switch to Purple bricks!

Excellent service. From the valuation and throughout this has been a highly positive experience. The App is very user friendly and offers complete flexibility. Communications from our Estate Agent through to the Post Sales Team have been superb. We have no hesitation in Highly Recommending Purble Bricks.

I think Purplebricks is only as good as the local agent and our local agent, Marie was excellent. She gave us pre-sale decorating advice and organised photos, virtual viewing survey etc very efficiently. She gave good advice when offers were received and was prompt at replying to emails, phone calls etc. even in the evening and at weekends. We carried out the viewings ourselves and used our own solicitor, although these options are also available through Purplebricks. I did find the calendar on the app difficult to block out times we were not available, but it worked out OK in the end. Also did not get any viewings for first few weeks so got my daughter to test the system by making a viewing booking to alay my fears that the system was not working- it was !

The estate agent that we dealt with has been delightful and very helpful. The app, in my opinion, is not great. It changes often and is not particularly user friendly. There has been no direct contact from Purplebricks only when we've been in touch with them.

I’d give 0 stars if that was possible. Genuinely the worst service of any company I have ever experienced. We’ve been letting a house via PB for a year and the whole process has been riddled with issues. Mostly surrounding a lack of communication from PB. They take literally months to reply to an email and only do so after multiple chases (the record is 19 chaser emails for 1 reply…) and never answer the phone. If you are a landlord or vendor, do yourselves a favour and do not use. Yes they are cheap but I promise you it’s not worth the cost saving.

  • 1/5 Drybrook W. 1 year ago on Google
Why do you allow your vendors to relist properties as FIRST LISTED on the portals when the spent open days are in the description confirming they are anything but? Some first listed previously 4years + still unsold appearing as fresh. This is deliberately misleading .Don't give any bull about marketing breaks . Just to add the purple cherry on top of the stale cake there are photos of the property with boards outside with the company logo which was abandoned in Nov 2018 just to remove any doubt they were old spanners not first listers Hopeless, helpless and hapless Also daily listings showing with expired EPCs which are non compliant. It beggars belief after you have had to pay out £ms in compo for breaches . Are there no lessons learned ? Clearly nobody bothers to check What a purple shower You can'teven get the basics right

IF you decide to sell your property with purplebricks do yourselves a favour and do not use their solicitors you will very quickly find yourself in a state of limbo with your sale not progressing at all in my case currently 3 months after the bid was accepted. Also dont expect any support in getting this resolved, constant emails to their post sales support team have resulted in nothing thus far.

No Commission Fee = No Service! I would NEVER use Purplebricks again. Despite the heavy PR and blanket advertising campaigns, No Commission Fee = No Service! Seller beware as the Brilliant reviews (lots of 5 stars), rate the initial marketing but not the sale. PB are just another market disrupter trying to gain market share, as all they do is post pictures of your house on the internet property portals. You do the viewings yourself, so have signed up to pay a company an upfront fee, for the privilege of selling your own house while you work for free! It’s ok if the sale is straightforward but there is no duty of care to identify and resolve issues in the chain before they become a big problem. Lesson learned: this is why you pay commission to a high street estate agent to sell and market your home, as it’s your most valuable asset. PB get paid to list it not sell it, so are not interested in working to get a sale. The Local property experts” (LPE’s) are only incentivised to ensure you sign up and instruct them, and are off chasing new clients. Post sales support and the conveyancing service, who are supposed to handle the legal process, are equally useless. When you can actually get through to them, there are frequently no updates, incorrect names on paperwork and non existent chain management. Booking viewings on and messaging through the app is a nice benefit (when it works). The downside is the simplicity means lots of viewers were either time wasters looking for a day trip out (or tyre kickers), not serious buyers with property to sell or even on the market. After accepting offers we had to chase to get updates on the status of the chain and despite warning it would break because of slow progress it did as buyers pulled out. The buyers who did make offers we accepted were obviously not vetted for affordability (despite the LPE advising us they were in the best position to proceed), as they also pulled out weeks after outbidding all others so were not committed to buying. This leaves you embarrassingly unable to proceed with houses you have made offers on and had them accepted, as you have had the legs cut out from under you with no notice, on the app, or phone call, just a text! I have cut my losses (in survey costs, search fees and time), and gone on to instruct a local high street estate agent, which we should have done in the first place. One to be avoided at all costs!

The process pf selling our property ran very smoothly. The viewing assistant handled two open days extremely well and it resulted in multiple offers. The agent then negotiated successfully and a sale resulted very quickly.

  • 1/5 Team L. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely awful experience, the house we were buying was taken off the market and pb were informed. They did nothing about it and we didn't find out til 6 weeks after our offer had been accepted, our flat sold, we'd started packing and now have nowhere to go.no one gets back to you or answers calls, complaints procedure is abysmal as is the staffs attitude. They've literally messed up everything for us.

Very positive experience from start to finish, selling my Mum's flat in Edinburgh. I met Tomasz initially who spent an hour appraising the flat and seemed genuinely interested and asked all the right questions and gave reassuring advice re online marketing (compared to an established Estate Agency, chap turned up for less the 5 minutes and quoted over £4k). Then a lady called Debbie came to take some great photographs and a virtual tour. Then the viewings were carried out by Emily who was just fantastic - she kept us in the loop at all times re viewers, feedback, offers and advice. When it was the bank holiday weekend and other colleagues were on holiday, she answered her phone and texted me, and she processed matters for me even on her day off. I can't rave about her enough, she was just brilliant and a real asset to PBs. The flat sold in a week. The process has been very easy. I went for the £1399 Pro package. The only negative was that PBs charge too much for Home Reports - initially the guide price was "from £480" but that soon became £549, then £599. I did a comparison search in my area and found a reputable surveyor, and paid just £325 for a Home Report!

I got in touch with Purplebricks to get a house valuation and Adam visited our home. I was very impressed with the professional approach with the natural ease in equal measure from the first visit. I would definitely recommend them to help the process of selling your property. This has honestly been an amazing experience from start to finish. Talked me through the process and kept me informed. They have been really helpful every steps of the way. Adam and Holly have organised everything with speed and are most helpful with any queries . Thanks again and we really appreciate all the help and advise throughout. I can definitely recommend them to everyone.

My appointed PB agent, Tas, was fantastic. Friendly, professional and very responsive. Sold my property 4 days after listing it for a fraction of the price compared to a traditional estate agent! Small improvement area. I was provided a limited selection of photos from the agency PB hired. Would have preferred for them all to be sent so I could select those to be on the advert. Also, highly recommend choosing your own solicitor rather than going through PB with deferred payment. Those available aren't necessarily the best for what can be the most difficult part of the sales process. Thanks again Tas, you made the pre-sales process smooth and enjoyable!
