Discriminatory and racist security guards. I don't know why I end up going here thinking the experience will be any better. My friend group and I have faced discrimination in three different occasions. The staff at the bar and wardrobe checks are really nice and I have friends working here as well. But the security guards are very rough, goony and outright racist. 1. A few south-asian friends and I thought of grabbing a drink after dinner and went to the Secret Garden. The guard at the gate escorted us to the wardrobe check and demanded that we checkin our coats and bags. He stayed there till we all checked in. I thought that he would be doing this for all of the patrons. Nope! Other white patrons walked past him with not just backpacks but big luggages and he happily greeted them. More people came in and none of them checked in their stuff at wardrobe. He did not mind them, he just walked past them. As we spent some time there we bought few drinks and that's when we realized he had just singled us out. It was just us, why? We were of color. That killed our mood and we just left after collecting our stuff. We did mention this our disappointment to the staff at wardrobe check, but it felt like they already knew this and had nothing to say. Please do not make claims of being LGBT+ friendly and make the community feel unwelcome. 2. Almost a year back I was there with another group of friends and we wanted to dance. Their dance floors are on the basement and it is not at all accessible. One of our friends was trying to climb up the stairs slowly, when one of these hired goons, assumed he was drunk and asked us to leave. They were rude and we were also scared of being beaten up. Imagine! One of the oldest gay bars and you feel unsafe there. 3. Few months before this we witnessed a clearly inebriated person being asked to leave. That was okay, but he wanted to collect his jacket and he requested that(very harmless way). He was short statured lean guy. This security guard just picked the drunk guy up in the air and just threw him out the gate. I hoped the drunk guy pressed charges. I surely hope the owners notices this review and does something. I would also request anyone who have faced this treatment to speak up. This has to stop.

Never in my life have I been so disrespected by an establishments employee. I want to clarify I am not making any judgements on anything other than the one bald bouncer that was working here night of May 26 at around 12:10. This man turned me away because he thought I looked too drunk and I had, and still have only had one beer. I am writing this review immediately after. Does it look like it was composed by a drunk person? Not in any country or bar no matter the laws has anyone ever treated me this poorly. He had no proof, I was not slurring, I was not swaying, I was not being loud or disorderly. I’ve worked at bars since I was 18 and I’ve managed bars. If I found out a bouncer I was working with did anything close to this I would recommend he is fired immediately. I suggest you do the same. Who knows how much money he is costing what looks like a very good bar, or how often he is besmirching your reputation. I will be writing the same review on Trip Advisor and Yelp, and I really hope somebody at your establishment sees this so that you don’t have anymore customers walking out of your bar disappointed and angry.

Such a beautiful cafe bar to stop and chill 😎 or drink till 3am when your too gay to drive straight. Located in the old town where you can feel the history that once laid before us. Gratitude.

The reviews of this place are perfect. Some of the waiters and staff, as well as food and decor, are fantastic. However, their bouncer and management are absolutely atrocious, rude, and mean with a chip on their shoulder about anyone drinking alcohol. To them slightly tipsy (2-3 beers/drinks) is drunk and you will be asked to leave. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs if you can manage... There are better "gay bars" anywhere in the world.

At first glance a nice local gay bar in a great area. I went here for a quick late bite on a Wednesday and had typical bar food and a beer with my partner. That night was fine. The next night, Thursday, the security bouncer at the door told me it was “members only night” and would not let me in for no reason (I was with my partner and visiting friend). After reading a few of the other reviews I have to agree this security bouncer needs to be let go. He is rude and discriminatory. The is not at all the representation the gay community needs. We should be supporting each other not tearing each other down. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO A PLACE THAT RESPECTS ALL.

As weird as it may sound, this is one of the most rasist and discriminatory places I have seen in all Europe. If you go there on a Friday night as a blond, Swedish female or male, you are just fine and can have as many drinks as you can. If you are by any chance Latino or black, one of the many guards around will keep on asking you randomly (on way too many occasions) how many drinks you had. In my case, the answer was: I only had two alcohol free beers - as I am a stroke survivor, I cannot drink alcohol. To my surprise, the answer was: you had one too many drinks, please follow me to the wardrobe, then outside as you are no longer welcome here… I repeated - I am not drunk as I don’t drink alcohol. He violently pulled me outside. On the other hand, all the Swedish blond women and men, fully high on drugs and alcohol are being protected and left in peace.

Do not go there! I was denied entry by the door man saying I was to drunk. I do not drink. If you read the reviews you will se a pattern of this. We were there for an Atlantis Gay cruise and many people experienced they same behavior. They discriminate on looks or age. They had all of these reviews deleted as fraud on trip advisor but they were not. We are contacting trip advisor, stay away!

Worst experience of my life and I’m 42 traveling the world since age 16. This bar is massive and the service is very rude and half of the bar is not even a gay bar but with straight couples only . Maybe to go only for special events as Pride eve I guess . Very disappointed and I’m usually Mr Good reviews good vibes only . Better keep out that place and bad experience of my mind . Hav a good evening everyone .

The place is so RACIST they did not let me in after having just one beer! The place have a rule, what guard decides is final!! It is crazy 😧 they took 100SEK entry fee and threw me out immediately👏 It is not LGBTQ friendly it is actually racist think before you go in there This happened to me today on 13-02-2022 Don't go there !! Very very RUDE

THE WORST GAY CLUB IN EUROPE! Weird vibe, security guards surveilling from every corner with torch lights looking for who to kick out of the club next. There was no justification for kicking people out, the security guards saw an ounce of tipsiness and targeted!? Music was so low that you could hear everyone reciting the lyrics… strangest gay club I’ve visited!

I have been here twice before and had a so-so experience. Last night on Tuesday, however, my friends and I weren't let in because we were "too drunk" even though we'd had two drinks before. Another friend had entered before us and she was far drunker. Eventually another guard explained that it was because it was nearly 2am. Except they could've been nice enough to explain that in the first place. It got haughty with the guards and ended in my friend having a nose bleed from a panic attack and the police coming. Most horrible experience I've had in Stockholm after a year of living here. Never going there again nor will my friends.

Ok..but..I was here Mondays at 1600 and rather empty. Music selection was quite good, but seriously the lady behind the bar was unmotivated and not welcoming and did not look very connected to the gay scene. I have painted finger nails and got rather disapproving vibes. What happened to openly chatty sexy bar personel that gives you reasons to stay? Gay flags and decorations alone didn't do it for me.

Despite reading all the previous reviews, I thought I would give this place a go. Drinks were not the best quality I would agree but the young guy on bar was friendly. Manager on duty was walking around with a can of air freshener and sprayed where a guy and just got up from to leave. All a bit rude and arrogant. I must say, pervious comments about the door/security staff did worry me but the door staff member was friendly and welcomed me. Maybe if the manager toned down the air of importance, the place would feel so much warmer and welcoming. PS a suit and an ear piece do not make you god! I will sit wherever I choose to, thanks!

Can't recommend this bar, especially if you are not a local. The bar gives essentially free entry (5 SEK) to locals if you agree to vote for them as best gay bar in Stockholm and show them proof that you voted. If you are not a local they will not let you vote and will charge you a 200 SEK (~$20) cover fee. They essentially buy votes by waiving the cover fee. Drinks are expensive and not that great. Only thing I enjoyed was the music but even that was repeated several times throughout the night.

First and foremost, our waiter was perfect! Fast, funny, and made great recommendations for food. However, everything else was a train wreck. We messaged the bar on Facebook messenger to confirm their preference for reservations or walk-ins during the corona restrictions. They assured us walk-ins were preferred and that they were open until 3am 365 days a year. As we walk up to enter at 9pm the bouncer aggressively tells us there is no room for us and slams a cable across the entry way. I asked if we could wait until a table was free and he said no. I asked if someone would leave between 9pm and 3am and he said no. We had to explain for 5 mins that we had already messaged ahead of time etc etc. He finally brought a staff member out who said we were lucky there was actually a table for 6 people available and they finally sat us. Meanwhile, we watched at least 5 other groups get sat after us. 🤷‍♂️ We ordered dinner, a few rounds of long drinks, and a few rounds of shots over 3 hours. Our friends went outside for a second to cool off because the bar was very warm. The bouncer told them they couldn't drink anymore because they were "too drunk". Later our waiter serves our final round and announces that he has been told twice not to serve us because we are "too drunk". While we were loud and having fun, not a single member of our group was actually drunk. Unfortunately, the drinks were very over priced and the vibe was terrible. It's hard to have any level of fun, even during corona, with a business model like this. If it wasn't for our fantastic waiter the whole thing would have been a flop.

The staff are incredibly rude and steal from customers. I came to Stockholm for a few days, and once I visited this place with my friends. With one order the bartender gave me drinks that I did not order, and I complained. Not only he did not want to correct his mistake, instead he kept the money collected (~40 eur), without giving me any drinks. On top of that, they kicked me out of the bar, cause I kept complaining. The entire communication and process was incredibly rude. I've never experienced anything like it.

fun atmosphere but the bouncer pulled us out 10 minutes into our stay telling us we looked too drunk after 1 shot of tequila and sent us away even after having a calm& civil conversation with him at the entrance. God forbid people have a little bit too much fun at a gay bar on a friday night. Feeling hesitant about returning in the future but much love to the vigilant and passionate staff here. It feels like a really safe environment

One of the only gay places in Stockholm very quiet. We did not see a lot of people. The food is okay the cocktail okay but the service needs to be better. The decoration of that place is great as well and the localisation is perfect.

I regret to inform you that my friend and I recently had an unsatisfactory experience at your establishment in Stockholm. After locating your bar through Google Maps, we visited in order to warm up with a hot beverage due to the extremely cold weather outside. However, we encountered an issue with the security guard who repeatedly asked me a question that I did not understand. It became apparent that he was inquiring about my well-being, presumably because I was visibly shivering from the cold. I was initially confused by his line of questioning and sought clarification. Unfortunately, his subsequent insinuation that I was intoxicated was both unwarranted and inaccurate. When I informed him that I was not under the influence but simply feeling the effects of the cold weather, he abruptly informed me that I would not be allowed entry and advised me to return another day. This experience has left us with a negative impression of your establishment, particularly considering that the bar was empty and there was no apparent need for a queue or line. Furthermore, upon further reflection and considering the recent accusations of racism associated with your establishment, it appears that there may be a correlation between these allegations and our own encounter. As a Black man accompanied by a Latino friend, we find ourselves questioning the fairness and inclusivity of your establishment. Therefore, we have decided that we will not be returning in the future and suggest anyone reading this does not either.

Was a regular guest of secret garden since 2014 absolutely liked this place, the owner is really humble and all the staff have nice gesture. But recently noticed there is a bouncer(tattoo in hand) is really aggressive and rude with coloured people. He only targets coloured people and kick them out(even noticed him not letting them in with a proper reason). He have really bad attitude and phobia for specific group of people. Really disappointed and hope the management will have a look. Because we want our secret garden like before when it gave values to human being as they are.

Worst experience ever! We booked a table to watch eurovision. On entrance they have entrance fee, which is fine. Also they charged for the jackets, you pay even if you dont have any. They only had fix menu for 500sek and nothing else to eat. The TVs did not work at all, we missed 1 hour of the show. Then they sent us to another place where is packed and no place to sit and eventually we left. Not recommended

A overall cute and fun gay bar with people of all age, and many tourists as well! Probably also the only place of that kind. However beware - when you order a drink later in the night, they will try to scam you by tipping in crazy prices: 350 KR for a vodka Red Bull, for which the person before you payed 99KR. So beware and always look at the screen before you insert a card.

it's a very nice place aesthetically, but the staff is very bad. my friend and i went there for drinks a month ago and they treated us badly. not only we had to bring our drinks and food at our table (apparently table service doesn't exist), but they told us this by making a joke like "do you want to have dinner or do you want to wait for your order to fall from the sky?”. we’re italian, we are used to kindness and friendliness, we thought that in a LGBTQ+ bar there would be a minimum of that, but unfortunately it wasn't like that. in Stockholm i found myself having to deal with people who really don't know how to relate, i’m so sorry.

Came to watch Eurovision 2023, paid additional money for the Garderobe that was not communicated previously, booked the table one week in advance, and TVs didn’t work!!!!! We spent an hour before it was communicated to us that it will not work. The worse place and service ever, Moreover, no one proposed to return the money (entrance fee and garderobe 90 kr per person). So we asked manager to do so. NEVER GO TO SECRET GARDEN. People are rude and unprofessional!!!!

Average drinks, poor wine, but the bartender was really nice especially when he joined in on the fun and served drinks topless. They played a lot of lady gaga songs, maybe because it was after a Lady Gaga concert, fun. Loved the ivy plants on the wall, cute. 🏳️‍🌈

Absolutely loved this place! Really really fun and lots of spots to explore - but the dancefloor was of course the best. Great atmosphere! The staff were friendly & security were really kind to us (we don’t speak Swedish) and felt really safe. It does get busy though so go around 10 on a Saturday. Quite quiet on a Sunday evening (as everywhere in Stockholm)

This is the place I usually visit when I’m going out, the atmosphere is very open and fun and you’ll always meet someone either if you come alone or with friends. The workers at this place is very friendly and easy to talk with if you need information or help with anything so you’ll feel comfortable coming here. I would recommend this place if you want to visit a place where you want to have fun and be able to meet a lot of people❤️

fun place! there's different dancefloors, the bar connects to 3 other bars during the evenings so there's a lot of space. they do take an entry fee of about 100sek, but it was okay in my opinion. drinks are a bit pricey, but good nonetheless. interior is nice, it's a mix of botanical garden with fairy lights and a general LGBT vibe.

We went here on a Saturday and had a really great time. We weren't charged a cover fee at the door, the locals inside were super welcoming and the music, while mostly in Swedish, was very eurovision-esque and we loved it. I've given it 3 stars because the bouncers were horribl. Hawkish and off putting in the way they stood overlooking the dance floor all night. I'd recommend pre drinking because drinks cost a fortune, but you'd better make sure you don't look even remotely drunk or they won't let you in.

The club was kinda empty, the security just popped at our table and he was so rude as he assumed that me and a friend of mine we were drunk. I said why are you stating that and he just replied I can see you are drunk(?!).Then I was nearby the bar counter and asked the bar tender if I could just talk to him and he stated I CAN'T TALK TO YOU.. there are cameras and microfone recording and I'm not allowed to talk to you! Another person then came to apologize but I just told him that no-one inside there has any knowledge how to run a business as you don't even know how to talk to your guests who are spending money in your "club". Shame on you guys 👏🏽!

my absolute favourite place to go out! i love everything abt it. can dance as a woman like a normal human being without being assaulted or anything in that kind. and if one time it happens (bc it happens everywhere) the security takes good care of that. extra shout out to them. all the staff is super nice and friendly and respectful and you can vibe with them and have nice talks. i really really feel safe here. the music is good and there are three dance floors so if you don’t like the music on one you just can go to one of the others. sometimes they even open downstairs which is the coolest dance floor! (please open it again soon) the only negative thing is that they don’t have a karaoke bar (i wanna deliver my performances!!) BUT i heard from an insider that this is in work :) special shout out to one security who’s learning german for me and my friends to make us feel included ! /j all in all a 5/5 compatibility between me and the club. love u guys (here every weekend at least once but normally both days it’s THAT good)

Is a great place to have a good time, but the moment me and my colleague decided to come out just to take some air and a break, the guard just randomly decided to don’t let us go in. Not only we’ve spent some expensive cocktails (because prices are just a big abuse) just to get us ready for the party, but at the exit we were told that we just needed a stamp to go back, we got the stamp and when we tried to get in, another guard randomly decided we were not allowed in anymore. So not only we paid an entry and we were lied to, but they just have the right to end someone’s night as nothing. Unfortunately this broke the whole experience and great time we’re having.

My favourite club in Stockholm! Such a chill atmosphere with a ton of fun people. I love the building itself, having so many nice seating areas but dance floors as well. Good music, good drinks (though they're pretty expensive but what else can you expect in Stockholm). What I love most is that I, as a woman, in opposition to many other clubs, actually feel quite safe while going out and dancing since there are barely any weird or creepy men. The crowd is so fun for the most part and the staff is nice too, I adoreee going here.
