Every
year,
the
weekend
around
10th
of
November,
we
usually
go
out
for
roasted
goose
dinner
to
celebrate
St
Martin's
Day.
And
the
restaurant
we
went
the
most
was
certainly
Den
Gyldene
Freden.
Here
the
tradition,
food
and
atmosphere
all
came
into
such
an
exquisite
blend
that
as
soon
as
I
finished
the
dinner
and
left
the
restaurant,
I
immediately
looked
forward
to
the
next
year's
visit.
Here
the
freshly
roasted
goose
just
would
be
brought
into
the
dining
room,
and
tranched
in
front
of
the
guests
and
directly
into
the
plates.
Both
the
filé
and
other
edible
parts,
topped
with
plum
sauce
and
vegetables.
So
delicious!
Last
year
however
we
were
not
able
to
come,
since
the
restaurant
was
closed
for
renovation,
so
we
booked
another
restaurant.
Understandably,
this
year
with
such
a
high
great
expectation
we
returned
to
the
Gyldene
Freden
for
the
long
anticipated
goose
dinner.
The
starter,
black
soup,
came
quite
quickly.
Very
little
substance,
some
pieces
of
apple,
and
mashed
meat
of
some
sort.
But
it
was
ok.
In
those
years
before,
the
staff
would
always
come
to
the
table
and
proudly
present
all
the
exotic
ingredients
in
the
soup.
This
year
though,
the
soup
was
just
delivered
to
the
table,
without
much
to
say.
In
the
hindsight,
I
realized
that,
there
was
indeed
not
much
to
say.
Then
came
the
long
wait
for
the
main
dish,
an
hour
long.
When
finally
the
main
dish
arrived,
I
thought
it
was
a
joke,
a
shock.
And
almost
said
it
out
loud
before
the
staff
left.
In
the
plate
lies
two
pieces
of
small
meat,
not
much
bigger
than
the
thumb
nail,
alongside
with
a
sausage
of
the
size
of
a
prince
sausage.
One
of
the
meat
pieces
was
definitely
overcooked
and
might
have
been
once
the
end
of
the
filé.
We
topped
the
whole
thing
up
with
some
vegetables.
And
quickly
went
through
the
dinner
in
disbelief.
The
dessert
was
not
much
better,
an
apple
pie
obviously
stayed
too
long
in
the
oven.
Have
we
been
eating
all
too
slowly,
I
wondered.
We
later
learned
that
the
restaurant
has
a
new
owner
coming
in
since
last
year's
renovation,
no
wonder.
Yes,
there
was
high
inflation;
and
yes,
there
was
a
pandemic,
and
food
are
becoming
scarce
due
to
the
war.
We
all
know
that.
But
still,
I
couldn't
find
a
feasible
explanation
for
this
horrible
dinner,
almost
1,200
SEK
with
wine
pairing.
Oh
by
the
way,
the
wine
glasses
for
the
starter,
the
main
dish
and
the
dessert
were
all
the
same,
without
any
fuss
of
any
sort.
Streamlined.
Right
away,
I
started
to
fumble
with
my
mobile
to
see
which
other
restaurants
in
town
may
offer
this
goose
dinner.
Just
a
prep
for
the
next
year.
