ICHI is overall, a promising restaurant that cooks Scandinavian food with strong Japanese influences. While promising, the restaurant has a lot of work to do if it aims to be a high-level establishment, that I think it aspires to. If ICHI aims to be listed in the Bib or, perhaps future-wise even aspire to a star, there are major points that need to be addressed. It should be stated that while a few dishes are good, a majority of the dishes on the menu does not deliver. The Japanese style of dining showcases the ingredients. Unfortunately, the produce used does not, in most dishes, live up to a quality that can uphold this style of cooking. The root vegetables are of supermarket quality, and when these are presented as main ingredients, a whole dish is lost. It is also not well-advised, in this type of dining, to serve standard green salad unless it is well-thought-out and of pristine freshness. While it might be a nice conversation piece, the shaved ice is not a dish that fit at all. I enjoy shaved ice, when it is served in hot climate and beaches around the world. But to serve this, on a menu, in Swedish winter show a lack of adaptability. The machine might get people talking, and it is acceptable to use on a peak summer-menu. How this has charmed some food-critics in Stockholm, show a major lack of perspective. I urge ICHI to think differently. The service was good during our visit. However, we had two major faults with our food. This can indeed happen anywhere where humans are involved. But two major faults in one sitting does not occur in Michelin-level dining. If ICHI aims to higher levels, they have to improve their routines, knowledge of the ingredients of use, and step up their level of detail in every dish on the menu and every dish that goes out of the kitchen. This critical review is written with the best intent for ICHI, and I hope that they can work to improve to become the restaurant they want to be. For now, however, ICHI underdelivers relative to the praise it has gotten and has some serious work to do.

The 5 course meal had various dished with various ingredients. Well thought through menu with many textures. The food was generally mild. Loved the mixed pairing menu where you get 50% alcoholic and 50% non alcoholic beverages. The pairing was okay, but the food and drinks did not enhance eachother. The food and the drinks together filled up. Simple, dark, yet luxurious interior. Japanease music in the background. Very polite and attentive service.

Very dissapointed. The portions extremely small, not satisfying at all. The flavours were ok but nothing special either. For the range of this restsurant and the price i was expecting a lot more. Boring boring boring. The shaved ice is unacceptable. I left the restaurant hungry and not happy. Which for me is the worst.

Excellent range of high quality sake. Professional upscale service. Seasonal ingredients and dishes slanted too much to vegetables when we visited. The taste was ok, too salty at times that dulled the food and not lifting. Would like to see the chef's creativity for variety in the menu and to bring out natural tastes that inspire delight on the palate in the future.

Fair meal, beautiful presentations and very friendly environment. I must say none of the dishes were particularly impressive and I was expecting more given the awards and high ratings. Perhaps some of the Japanese cuisine elements such as teriyaki and the way the cod was done might be interesting to the local customers. I wasn't entirely sure about the choice of Ghibli music in the background. The interior atmosphere was thoughtful however.

You could taste the freshness and texture of food that make you feel happiness. The taste of happiness, each bite made you feel appreciated. Very good services and nice people. Set menu according to seasonal specials. They deserve a Michelin start.

ICHI is a hidden gem! Great Japanese place with everything you will not find at other ”Japanese” restaurants in Stockholm. Beautifuly presented dishes with really high quality food. The interior is both relaxed and a bit upscale. I’ve eaten here several times and always left happy with both food and service.

An esthetic and culinary experience worth every penny, went because I like both Japanese and Swedish cuisine so I was very curious what ICHI would be like and the the result was that the whole family enjoyed it. The staff called ahead to verify both booking and dietary requirements and the service that followed at the restaurant was as attentive and friendly as the first impression. Be aware that it is only a set menue, and that it takes about 3 hours it is however worth it. The non alcoholic drink pairing is both inspired and fitting. It is very easy to miss the entrance, as the exterior is very unremarkable. Inside it is like stepping into a Japanese restaurant in Tokyo.

To be honest, i know one of the owners so I know I am biased but I will do my best to keep that out of this... OH MY FAKKIN' GAWD! The food, the flavors, the presentation, the service, the attentiveness, the verbal presentation, the atmosphere, but not last nor least the PRICE, cheap to be on this level. I could go on but I think you get the picture. You need too book long in advance but it is well worth the wait. Fine dining when it is relaxed but still on it's A-game, on every point. If you are a foodie, trust me, you need to put this on your "to swallow list".

The staff is super thoughtful and friendly, they all know their job and present the food in a very professional way. The food is amazing, Japanese style food with Scandinavian ingredients… really interesting combinations What I liked a lot is the non alcoholic drinks paired with the food. One does not always have this choice!
