As we were walking through the old town, we came upon this Restaurant, it was full house but the waitress asked us to wait for few minutes while a table of 5 are leaving. The restaurant is cosy and tastefully decorated. Staff is courteous and food service was fast. The Pelmeni was really good , Borsch soup was very savoury. Soup with coconut milk tasted like curry back home, cheese & spinach pie , meat balls rice , Pasta Bolognaise & schweizer schnitzel are deliciously done!! We are glad to have our lunch in this wonderful restaurant.!!! Worth the time spent !!

Awesome location! Delicious food for a reasonable price in the old town! Borsht, pelmeni, blinchiki and many other stuff is prepared very nicely🤤 Stuff is friendly and welcome:) They work during the Christmas holidays which is huge advantage when almost every good restaurant and shop in Stockholm is closed! 2/3 days in Stockholm we visited this place. Definitely worth visiting!

If you want to have genuine homemade Russian food, this is THE place. I was raised in Siberia, and I have spent more than 10 years searching the world outside Russia for my favourite childhood food: real homemade Siberian dumplings. There are many places that say they serve homemade dumplings, but I have never been able to find that real taste of rich meat and soft, thin dough. That is, until I stumbled across Gamla Stans Lykta. This place truly has the most authentic and delicious Russian food I have ever tried at any establishment. From their borsch to the dumplings, to the honey cake dessert, everything was a real taste of my childhood. You can tell the Chef really cares about her craft. I cannot recommend Gamla Stans Lykta highly enough. It is going to be my regular stop from now on any time I visit Stockholm.

A cozy place to dine in but has no wifi & no customer service. I don’t recommend this place to tourists. When I asked for a glass of water, I was told to help myself at the self service table! Also, despite lunch is offered with a discount at 155 Krona on the menu but, they refused to honour that!!! When I insisted, they brought up some excuses. Ask them about this offer before you order your food. I had meat balls and it was good.

Delicious food…we came here two days in a row. Small “hole-in-the-wall” cafe style with quick service. Warm, comfortable atmosphere with friendly owners (mother and daughter). I loved the verniki so much I got it both days … similar to a pierogi, Russian-style. And my partner got the schwiernerschnitzel (think pork cordon-blue) and today the beef stroganoff. DELICIOUS. (He said to tell you: “wonderful”)

The food was pretty good, but we do not feel like the staff was very kind to be honest.

Excellent little lunch place in the middle of the old city of Stockholm. Russian and Eastern European dishes on the menu but also some other variations. We have the home made Mushroom soup which was delicious and rich. Small and cozy atmosphere well worth a visit while you're in town

Food was amazing! Friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like much is that they had only one type of beer with 3% alcohol.

We were not allowed to eat at the restaurant. The reason was that there wasn’t one single baby seat for our 1-year-old. We asked if she could sit at her trolley but that wasn’t acceptable so we were forced to eat elsewhere. The restaurant wasn’t full at the moment, not even close. I would recommend to state clearly either outside the restaurant or at the website that families with small children are not welcome.

Very cool spot to grab a bite too eat, very unique inside! Great food, we had traditional meatballs and borscht. YUM! Not only was the food delicious, but our server Anastasia was very attentive and gave thoughtful recommendations as well. Would recommend to anyone.

We showed up to dine at the restaurant across the street, but the line to get in was really long, and we were VERY pleasantly surprised choosing Gamla Stand Lykta as our "plan B." The food was excellently prepared and flavorful. We had the Swedish meatballs and the schnitzel with cheese and bacon, and it was outstanding. As an American I was disappointed to learn they didn't have ice for beverages, but not surprised as that is the European way. Overall we had a delightful and enjoyable meal, and loved the intimate ambiance!

Had a lovely dinner experience here. My partner had a small portion of the meatballs while I had a regular portion of the Vareniki. Both dishes were delicious. The staff were very courteous while the ambience is quite trendy with lively music. Would certainly recommend this restaurant if you’re around Gayla Stan!!

I was quite surprised to find such a wonderful place with an authentic taste of a Russian food. If you want to try a real Russian food then this is the place.

I like the dishes and area but my expectation everything is 100% suitable for the concept (design, music). However the taste of dishes are good.

this is the best bortsch that I’ve ever had, Russian dumplings are good as well. Unfortunately the choice is quite limited. Would have loved to try the famous Russian starter (seledka pod shuboy) herring in a fur coat but unfortunately it is not even on the menu

A lovely borsht and pelmeni here! We came by here and could not help ourselves and go in for lunch. The interior is simple, yet comfortable and rustic. We opted to get ourselves borsht and pelmeni and the restaurant did not disappoint - not only both were delicious, but definitely authentic :) The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our visit!

Обалденная еда, все было очень вкусно, и все очень приятные тоже. The food was delicious; great combinations of options on the menu and real authentic taste. Cozy interior and cool decor, with a very interesting nice bathroom. Highly recommend as a interesting detour on your cultural adventure in Stockholm.

I don’t usually review restaurants, but this place was exceptional. Stumbled upon it while looking for a place to have dinner, and although they were about to close, the staff let me sit down and order. Everything I had was great. They had quality Borscht, which is the sign that an Eastern European restaurant is good, the pelmeni were unbelievably good, and paired perfectly with the hot sauce they served, and their honey cake was too die for. It’s hard to find honey cake that good outside of Eastern Europe. The service was great too, as everyone I interacted with was really nice and helpful. I would 100% recommend this for lunch or dinner. Good location, good vibe, fabulous food. Deserves 5 stars.

We loved it! Me, My husband, son, and family friend were greeted with a warm welcome. The food tastes wonderful and for its price it's completely worth it (Remember, this is the historic town center that is FILLED with tourists.) We ordered off the lunch menu, on which everything costs 155kr ($15). My son ordered the skewers and the rest of us ordered meatballs. The only downside is that there isn't a Wi-Fi server, but overall I give this a 5-star rating!😀

Small place, but atmosphere is beautiful clean, nice bathroom, friendly staff and the must have swedish meatballs I had was very good. Descent price compared to other restaurants in old town Gamla stan. Only thing is they close a little early. 1130pm to 5pm weekdays. 1130pm to 7pm weekends.
