A wonderful exhibition of what the Swedish power structures have undergone over 500 years. Each room represents a century and the great events. You can also see how women's clothing has changed over the past five centuries.

Very interesting collection. Amazing place to visit while at Stockholm. Whole in Gamla Stan, i had some spare time and decided to visit this place, and had a good time reading about Swedish history.

The coaches were amazing. But the best part was the display of clothing and uniforms. And all displays had explanations in English, which was great, too.

Super interesting and well curated museum. Plus it’s free! We followed the guided tour in English, which was wonderful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history behind the items and added so much context to the exhibitions which made it all the more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend you to take the tour if you get a chance to go.

It is an excellent historical museum with a vast collection of items. The admission prices are quite affordable and the place is very well-maintaned. I would definitely recommend it. Furthermore, unlike the main Royal Palace museum, it does not get too busy.

One of the most beautiful exhibitions of the royal costumes and carriages i have ever seen. I am delighted every time i see costumes from a certain old period and vehicles (in this case carriages and sleighs). Very beautiful and must be seen when visiting the city.

Absolutely fantastic, and the kind of place you can visit over and over again. I HIGHLY recommend the guided tour. The staff is extremely passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. They constantly have new exhibits and events. Also, check out their Instagram, whoever does it is amazing.

First I went to the Skatekkammare museum, it is maybe 50 meters from the Livrustkammare museum to the left of the Swedish Royal Palace. For the history buff, original crowns and royal accoutrements. Livrustkammaren contains three floors. At the bottom is a collection of horse-drawn carriages and sleighs of Swedish kings. There are also custom-made vehicles for princes and princesses. The guide said that the carriages and others were brought inside by dismantling the castle. So there's no way to get them out of the basement.

I was in such awe of this exhibit. Couldn’t wrap my mind around it, but it was beautiful and mind boggling all at once. I really enjoyed seeing this. Money well spent.

Might seem expensive but it's worth every korona you pay. Exhibitions are great, so many artefacts, and great stories. Something I liked a lot - the description of the things you're looking at is made on those wooden planks (A3 size), you can take it and walk around the exhibition you are currently looking at.

Clearly the best attraction in gamla Stan! Free entrance plus everything is extremely well presented and very well preserved. I love the atmosphere and a very nice overview of Swedish history . Highly recommend this museum and in my opinion a clear must visit

Amazing Museum. Entrance is for free which makes it even better. I didn't expect much to be honest when I saw free entry but I was absolutely wrong. The museum is really interesting and has a lot of ancient history displayed. You can read a lot about the royal families and see what they were wearing. The history is explained on signs to always give you the story to the presentation. Can recommend going here, was definitely one of the top museums in Stockholm.

This is a good small museum of the Royal Armoury and costume royal family and more. If you understand swedish a little you can take an audio guide. I really like dresses and little golden mice everywhere ( like a game for children and adults to find all of them). Also you can see an old carriage in a basement with beautiful horses! I love it! So please take the time and check this place, you need 40-60 minutes for that!

Hard to believe this treasure filled museum is free!!! An amazing array of costumes, royal collections, weapons, knights’ armour, carriages and plenty of history explained in chronological order about the Swedish Royal Family. If you choose not to visit the Royal Palace (which is very expensive), this more than covers it! Don’t miss this museum. Take your time and travel back into history.

Nice compact museum, giving quick overview of royal tradition. Few nice perks for kids. If you not too much to the topic, then this free option is fair enough to get to the point and avoid payment to the main Palace attractions (Treasury etc).

An amaizing and unique experience. Even if you have to pay for other tickets, the experience is the best!

Eine geschichtliche Reise durch Epochen der schwedischen Geschichte im Bereich Rüstungen, Kleidung und Kutschen der Königsfamilie. Informativ und schön gemacht - uns hat es gefallen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Free entry! I saw they have a temporary exhibition called "Manga royals" so I was immediately sold on visiting! It was a colab with Nosebleed studio and it was amazing (and I absolutely had to buy a postcard with one of the drawings) The normal exhibition was also really good, I really love historical clothing. And you could learn a lot about the history of Sweden's kings and queens. They also have a really lovely kid corner where the little ones can try crowns or different capes.

Price - Free Time - 1000-1700 Only free museum of the Royal Palace. Collection of armours and coaches from 1500 to most recent ones. Extensive collection alongwith a film detailing the collections. One time visit must.

A great and FREE museum that highlights the attire and artifacts of Swedish royalty through the ages. Along with thoughtful displays in Swedish and English, you get a high quality overview of the country itself. Along with royal carriages and sleds you get a great view on royal life.

FREE museum in the Royal Palace. It explains the history of the Sweden and provides ample historic items to view. There are four other activities to do in the palace - this has the most information and costs nothing, incredible! You can walk through quickly, but if you're someone who reads all of the signs, make sure to budget a good two hours to make it through.

Awesome informative exhibits that detail history in a clear way. Full of unique artifacts that tire back directly to important moments in Swedish history. Entry is free do no reason not to go.

Very nice museum, small but very interesting. Must visit if you interested in military or royalty in general. Not giving all starts due to terrible working hours! Extend them ASAP. Only in one day per week it is opened till 20:00!

Favorite museum to visit with toddler - lots to see and charming royal playroom on the second floor. Not to mention the Royal collection of amazingly decorated equipages!

Great pieces of Swedish history all in one spot for free. It’s located within walkable distance of other interesting museums and a popular shopping area. You may wait for awhile to get in due to covid precautions but it won’t be too long. They have a small gift shop and lockers to store your belongings while you look in the museum.

Probably the second best museum in Stockholm, being free is the cherry on the cake.
